Lil Uzi Vert Doesn’t Think He’ll Ever Win A Grammy

Lil Uzi Vert has released an impressive catalog of music over the years and he’s earned a couple of Grammy Award nominations as well. In 2017, the Philadelphia-based rapper was nominated in the Best New Artist category, as well as the Best Rap Performance grouping for his feature on “Bad and Boujee”.

Unfortunately, despite a strong campaign behind his latest album Eternal Atake, Uzi hasn’t been nominated at the awards ceremony in three years. That doesn’t mean his career hasn’t been wildly successful without the Recording Academy’s co-sign. After all, he did get a $24 million diamond pierced onto his forehead, which is more money than most of the Academy’s members will ever hold. This year’s Grammy Awards have come and gone and, reflecting on his own journey as an artist, Lil Uzi predicted that he would never bring home one of the coveted gramophone trophies.

“I probably a never get one of those [trophies],” tweeted the rapper on Monday evening. His fans are reminding him that he’s still one of the greatest rappers of his generation, even without a Grammy. Hopefully, Uzi is keeping his head up and uses his snubs as motivation to continue delivering quality in his music.

Do you think Lil Uzi Vert will win a Grammy Award one day?

Kid Cudi Will Perform On Saturday Night Live

Though opinions on Saturday Night Live certainly vary these days, one thing that hasn’t changed is the prestige of landing a headlining slot.  Kid Cudi recently secured the honor and he quickly took to social media to share his excitement following the initial announcement. Evidently, his reaction was far more enthused than it was upon learning “Day N Night” was a trending TikTok song

“If u know me, u know SNL is a huge dream of mine,” writes the Man On The Moon 3 rapper. “This is huge. Cannot friggin wait!” For those interested in catching Cudi’s appearance on the long-running series, the big night will transpire on April 10th. Academy Award nominee Carey Mulligan, star of Promising Young Woman, will be handling hosting duties. It should be noted that Cudi has previously performed on Saturday Night Live alongside Kanye West and 070 Shake, where the trio delivered a rendition of Kids See Ghosts highlight “Ghost Town.”

As it happens, Kid Cudi won’t be the only rapper appearing on Saturday Night Live this coming April. On March 27th, Jack Harlow will be holding it down as the resident musician, with Maya Rudolph handling hosting responsibilities. The following weekend, April 3rd, will find Academy Award nominee Daniel Kaluuya hosting while acclaimed musician St. Vincent takes the stage as a performer.

Ant Clemons Unpacks His Highs & Lows On New Single “Story Of My Life”

Grammy Award-winning artist Ant Clemons is officially back and he’s introducing himself with the introspective new single “Story Of My Life”.

Fresh off his latest win at the Grammy Awards for his work on Kanye West’s Jesus Is King, Ant Clemons has released his new song, which unpacks the highs and lows of his life so far. Exploring the hardships that have designed him as a human being, Ant also speaks on his work with Kanye West, Pharrell, and more of his idols. He speaks directly to his parents on the record, explaining why a 9-5 job wouldn’t have worked out for him and making himself known as a son, a king, and a best friend.

Listen to the new single from Ant Clemons below to learn more about him.

Quotable Lyrics:

My path ain’t in no 9-5
I made a plan and talked to God
He said there’s pages left to write
This is the story of my life
Some chapters I thought I might die
Had my heart broke a couple times
I don’t complain cause I survived
This just the story of my life

LeBron James Is Officially Part-Owner Of Boston Red Sox

LeBron James already has his hands all over one professional sports league and he’s about to take over another because according to the Boston Globe, the 36-year-old Los Angeles Lakers star has just become a part-owner of the Boston Red Sox.

A new report confirms that Fenway Sports Group has added LeBron James and his good friend Maverick Carter as partners, which makes them official part-owners of the Red Sox baseball team. James and Carter also become the group’s first Black partners. The deal is currently pending approval by the MLB, also including a $750 million private investment from RedBird Capital Partners, which would make them the third-largest partner.

This is huge news for LeBron James, who continues to set himself up for success once he eventually retires from basketball. In case you forgot, he also has an ownership stake in the Liverpool Football Club, which is also owned by Fenway Sports Group. Still performing at his highest level though, the end of his NBA career might not come as soon as people had originally thought, though. Especially if the Lakers win another championship this postseason.

This comes following the Lakers’ dominant win over the Golden State Warriors on Monday night. They will be playing against the Timberwolves tonight.

LeBron James recently commented on the one-year anniversary of Breonna Taylor’s death, saying, “Continue to Rest In Paradise Queen Breonna”.

Congratulations to LeBron James and Maverick Carter on becoming part-owners of the Boston Red Sox!

Method Man & Streetlife Spit Bars On “Story Of My Life”

Streetlife and Method Man have been collaborating for years now, and that loyalty has endured to this day. A few weeks ago — alas, we missed this one at initial release — the pair came through to deliver a new single called “Story Of My Life,” which is set to appear on Streetlife’s upcoming album of the same name. Taking to a vintage sample-driven beat by producer KDef, the track wastes little time in setting a tone.

Streetlife sets it off with some reflective bars, musing with an air of contentment on the fruits of his labor. “I separated the street from the artist, now the top of the chart be the target,” he raps. “You gotta make em love you, fear you, or respect you / I got em’ all checked so let’s start it.” Method Man steps in to close out the track with a verse, his signature flow as sharp as the Shaolin sword he still deftly bears. “I probably robbed your father for his chain,” he muses, without a hint of remorse. “And I probably die a martyr cause I started with a bang / take another’s garments, get retarded with the slang.”

Check it out for yourself now, and look for Streetlife’s Story Of My Life to drop later this summer.

XXXTentacion’s “Moonlight” Still Shines On “?” Album Anniversary

XXXTentacion has nearly been gone for three years. The Florida-based rap artist served as one of the strongest voices of his generation, sharing music that truly connected to a group of young adults that have experienced the highest percentages of depression and anxiety in recent years. The late 20-year-old knew how to speak to the youth, piecing together his words and melodies in a hypnotic way, crafting some of the best songs written in the 2010s.

With over a billion streams on Spotify, we look back on “Moonlight” as we celebrate the 3-year anniversary of XXXTentacion’s top-selling album ?. One of the most popular songs on the album, “Moonlight” has gone 6-times platinum in the United States. Produced by John Cunningham, the song peaked at #13 on the Billboard Hot 100, but its global reach could be felt in the years following its initial success.

A smooth love song, “Moonlight” sees XXXTentacion dealing with his own mental health issues, as well as his jealousy and anger problems. The hypnotic loop by John Cunningham is the true star of the song, but X’s handling of the track’s melodies and flows were perfectly-executed.

If you’re just getting into XXX’s discography, this album is a great place to start before diving into his earlier material.

Re-visit “Moonlight” below and be sure to give ? a spin on its 3-year anniversary.

Quotable Lyrics:

Feel like I’m destined
I don’t need no Smith & Wesson, no
Boy, who you testin’?
F*ck a Scantron, here’s your lesson, oh

Knife in intestine
Takin’ shots at all your brethren, no

Feel like I’m damaged
Girl I know you f*cking planned this
