Rubi Rose Flubs Nicki Minaj Lyrics & The Barbz Let Her Have It

The Barbz don’t mess around when it comes to all things Nicki Minaj. We’ve witnessed just how dedicated Nicki’s fanbase is, especially when people have mishaps involving the acclaimed rapper. The passionate group has often taken hits from others because of their undying adoration of Nicki, and they showed just how much they support the Queen emcee once again after pointing out a recent faux pas made by Rubi Rose.

In a clip that has gone viral, Rubi films her Q&A where she’s answering inquiries from the public. Someone wanted to know if she’s a Barb. “Oh my god, yes!” Rubi said enthusiastically before shooting off lyrics from Nicki’s track “Itty Bitty Piggy,” a classic favorite off of her 2009 mixtape, Beam Me Up Scotty. Rubi Rose’s enthusiasm was well-received, however, Nick’s fans were quick to point out that the bars were wrong.

I was on the plane with Dwayne / You can call me Whitley, I go to HillMane,” is what the proper lyrics are, and while Rubi came close, the Barbz were swift. “If I don’t remember the lyrics to a song imma make up my own… idgaf lol,” Rubi later tweeted in response. She got off much easier than Lizzo who rapped Nicki’s verse of “Bottom’s Up” and incurred the wrath of the Barbz. Check it out below.

Yaya Mayweather Criticized For Yacht Trip With Newborn Kentrell Jr.

The world is experiencing many of Kentrell Jr.’s firsts with him as Yaya Mayweather and her family share peeks at their adventures with the newborn. Yaya and NBA YoungBoy rang in the New Year by welcoming their son into the world, and since that time, we’ve seen Floyd Mayweather melt into his role as a grandfather as his 20-year-old daughter expresses just how much she’s enjoying motherhood.

Days ago, Yaya was on Instagram Live where she answered a fan’s question. “How’s Mom life? It’s amazing so good I love being a mother,” she said. “I’m honestly the happiest I’ve ever been like ever, it’s just amazing.” On Monday (February 22), Yaya returned with news about taking her baby on his first yacht ride, and what was meant to be a fun gathering with her loved ones placed the young mother in the crosshairs of online scrutiny.

In various clips shared on social media, Mayweather is seen dancing with her friends, but it was her holding her baby while standing on the couch cushions that caught the public’s attention. Some didn’t believe that she should be in that position while on a boat at sea, and soon, it seemed as if everyone had an opinion about how Yaya was treating her child. Check out a few clips from Yaya’s yacht ride along with a few reactions below.

Megan Thee Stallion Praised By Maxine Waters For Having “Audacity” On “WAP”

When Congresswoman Maxine Waters brought up “WAP” during a virtual chat with Megan The Stallion, the rapper initially looked a tad shook. Cardi B’s controversial hit featuring Megan climbed the charts to the No. 1 spot and caused a ruckus worldwide, especially in conservative U.S. political circles. As “WAP” stormed social media with a colorful music video and dance challenge craze, some people spoke openly about the raunchy lyrics. The criticism was heavy, but the controversy seemed to aid in “WAP” gaining steam. Someone put Maxine Waters onto the track and she praised Megan for her efforts.

“Here’s what I said: Now that’s audacity,” said Waters. “That is the ability for women to take charge of what they want to say because, as I said, I had paid attention to the young Gangster Rap time when men were in charge. They said whatever they wanted to say. That said whatever they wanted to say about women, what have you. But women didn’t say [anything] for a long time; what they could say or wanted to say or dared to say.”

“And so, I thought, ‘That’s audacity.’ So, I’m with you, I’m fine, I have no problem,” she added while easing the nerves of a smiling Megan. “You young women are taking control of your art. You’re defining it in ways that never would be defined by anybody else and you’re willing to have the courage and the nerves and the audacity to say whatever the hell you think.”

Waters said there was a time when many in the Black community didn’t accept hardcore Gangster Rap, and there were singers and politicians who battled against it. “The pure creativity of Rap took over,” said Waters. “And it took over not because the White media or anybody else helped with that. It took over because it was so accepted  by so many and so loved by so many and that’s how it keeps evolving.”

Congresswoman Maxine Waters Applauded Megan Thee Stallion’s ‘Audacity’ In ‘WAP’

Last summer the internet went into a tizzy following the release of Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s NSFW song “WAP,” which debuted at No. 1 and welcomed some harsh criticism by conservative thinkers. But unlike other politicians, California congresswoman Maxine Waters actually enjoyed it.

Rep. Waters and Megan sat down for a conversation for Harper’s Bazaar where they talked about education, the importance of standing up for yourself, and, of course, “WAP.” Waters revealed that some of the younger people in her life had played her the song, and she was impressed by Megan’s candor:

“I listen to the young people around me and they may tell me something maybe you ought to pay attention to. But then they told me to look at, was it WAP? Don’t worry, don’t worry, don’t worry. I said, ‘Now that’s audacity. That is audacity.’ And that is the ability for women to take charge of what they want to say. I had paid attention to the young gangster rap time, when men were in charge. They said whatever they wanted to say about women, what have you. But women didn’t say, for a long time, what they could say or wanted to say or dared to say. And so I thought ‘that’s audacity.’”

While this was the first time Waters and Megan had chatted in person, it was not their first correspondence. After Megan penned her powerful New York Times op-ed about the importance of speaking up for Black women, Waters responded with her own open letter. “I write all this to say that I’m so incredibly proud of you and how you have used your voice to uplift Black women,” Waters wrote. “I know that Black women and girls everywhere thank you for the way you so fiercely have their back. I want you to know that I have your back, too.”

Xzibit’s Wife Files For Divorce After 6 Years Of Marriage: Report

There’s been an uptick in divorces recently, at least in the world of hip-hop. Of course, the story surrounding Dr. Dre and his wife has remained a fixture in the headlines but on Friday, it was reported that Kim Kardashian officially filed for divorce from Kanye West. Then, Talib Kweli confirmed that he and his wife are also splitting

According to TMZ, Xzibit’s wife is also filing for divorce from the rapper after being married for six and a half years. Krista Joiner filed for divorce from Xzibit earlier this morning. Even though it’s been six years since they wed, the couple has been together for upwards of 20 years since reportedly meeting in 2001 while the rapper was on tour. The couple had two children together, though they sadly lost their son Xavier after he was born prematurely in 2008.

The Blast reports that Krista hasn’t filed for any specified spousal or child support in her divorce petition. The two shares 10-year-old Gatlyn so there’s a good chance that it’ll be finalized towards the end of their divorce.

Xzibit and Joiner got married together in 2014 but unfortunately, it was the aftermath of the wedding that made headlines. Xzibit was ultimately booked on a DUI charge at the wee hours of the morning.

So far, we haven’t received any public statement from either Xzibit or Joiner on the divorce following.
