Lil Uzi Vert Gifts Fabolous’ Son Merch & $5,000 In Cash For 13th Birthday

Fabolous’ son Johan Jackson seemed to have had an unforgettable birthday after meeting one of his favorite rappers, Lil Uzi Vert, and receiving a bag full of signature Baby Pluto merch, as well as $5,000 in cash to top it all off.

Fabolous posted a video of Johan unpacking all of the gifted merch, documenting the initial shocked expression on his face after finding the $5,000 in cash in his bag. Fab completed the post with a photo of Johan posing with the Eternal Atake rapper inside a recording studio in New York City.

In the post’s caption, Fabolous joked that he took his son on a trip to meet his “other favorite rapper.” He revealed that Uzi also showed Johan some unreleased music as well. Lucky guy!

“Love & Respect to my lil bro Uzi! Appreciate you for helping make my son Bday lit. What a time to turn 13 @iamprincejoso,” Fabolous wrote at the end of the caption.

The Instagram community praised Fabolous for his extreme efforts to make his son’s birthday the best.

“That’s how you do it bro. Make his 13th better than yours,” one user commented. Fellow artists like Ace Hood, Jim Jones, and DJ Clue also showed love in the comment section for the wholesome moment.

Fabolous has three children with his long-time partner Emily Bustamante, including Jonas, five-years old, Journey, who is about four months old, and Johan. The pair have been under major public scrutiny ever since Fabolous was accused of domestic violence in 2018, and a video of him threatening Bustamante and her father surfaced online. However, the couple has seemingly moved forward.

Cardi B Celebrates “Bodak Yellow” Going Diamond

Following the news that Cardi B’s “Bodak Yellow” was officially certified diamond earlier today, many — including Kodak Black — were quick to congratulate her on the big accomplishment. Not only is achieving diamond certification a rare feat on its own, but Cardi’s major milestone officially makes her the first female rapper to make it happen. With such a major cause for celebration, it’s no surprise that Cardi took a moment to gather her thoughts on Instagram.

“How it started ,How’s its going,” captions Cardi, sharing a throwback clip of her spitting some “Bodak” bars in the studio. “Thank you every1 that send me beautiful congrats on Bodak going Diamond. A couple of years ago I didn’t even understand what going diamond means or meant I just wanted to win and break-in . This record changed my life. Thank you to everyone who showed Bodak so much support and support and buy till THIS DAYY !! That’s why it went diamond cause of the support YOU still give.”

She also took a moment to share a few words about her recent single “WAP,” the first release from her forthcoming album — and another song that seems to have a potential diamond plaque in its future. “Wap is a spicy one shorty 5X platinum in 7 months makes me really happy cause I put this song out when I was doubting myself then most,” she muses. “With hardly any radio play cause of how nasty it was, but babyeeee it was a shocker !”

Curiously, she made no mention to “I Like It,” which currently sits on the verge of diamond certification at nine-times platinum. At this rate, Cardi will run out of room on her walls, especially if she keeps the same momentum whenever her new album rolls around. We’d like to issue another round of congratulations to Cardi for her first — and surely not her last — diamond single. Do you still keep “Bodak Yellow” in rotation?

Lil Nas X Finally Announces “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” Release Date

After making history by releasing the most-certified song ever in “Old Town Road”, Lil Nas X is preparing for the next era in his career as a pop star, announcing the release date for his heavily-teased new single “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)”.

The track has been a large part of Lil Nas X’s recent takeover on social media, included in most of his TikTok uploads as he gauges interest from his fans. The song, titled after his given name, is finally set for a release after months and months of teaser clips, dropping at the end of this month as announced by the 21-year-old artist.

Nas X shared the official cover artwork for the single, which shows a black-haired version of Nas X shooting an arrow at a red-haired picture of him in the style of Michelangelo’s The Creation of Adam. Clouds and vines cover the nude artist’s private areas, marking for some pretty iconic cover art.

The single will follow up the release of “HOLIDAY”, which was the latest success from Lil Nas X.

This week, the diamond-certified artist chimed in on the Eminem-centred debate that Gen-Z and Millenials have been having on social media, mocking a Millenial TikToker who spit a questionable freestyle over an Eminem beat by sharing his own purposefully terrible freestyle. Read more about that here.

Are you excited for Lil Nas X to finally release “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)”? Check out some previews of the song below.

Meyers Leonard Under Fire For Using Anti-Semitic Slur On Twitch

Miami Heat forward Meyers Leonard has some explaining to do after he was caught using an anti-semitic slur during a recent Twitch stream while he was playing Call Of Duty.

Emotions run high when you’re gaming sometimes, especially when it’s Call Of Duty. A number of athletes live-stream their gaming sessions when they’re off the court, including Meyers Leonard who has a platform of over 69,000 followers. Everybody that was tuned into Leonard’s recent stream got to witness the 29-year-old big man spew a racist slur in the middle of his game, calling one of his opponents a “k*ke”.

“F*cking cowards. Don’t f*cking snipe me! You f*cking k*ke b*tch,” he shouted. The anti-semitic slur was followed by a laugh from Leonard, who clearly didn’t realize how hurtful his words were.

Shortly after the damage was done, Leonard proceeded to take a phone call while playing, telling his team that he needed to leave abruptly. “Yo, my wife needs me, she just called me,” said the professional ballplayer. “I gotta roll, brother.”

As Complex points out, Leonard was the only player from the Miami Heat who didn’t kneel with the team in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement during their NBA Finals run. He suggested that kneeling during the anthem was disrespectful to the military. “Some of the conversations I’ve had over the past three days, quite literally, have been the most difficult,” he said at the time. “I am with the Black Lives Matter movement and I love and support the military and my brother and the people who have fought to defend our rights in this country.”

What do you think about this?

Lil Uzi Shares His Texts With JT

Could babies be in the near future for Lil Uzi Vert and JT? The couple has been flaunting their love all across social media, stepping out for extravagant shopping dates and posting pictures on Instagram. After hiding their relationship for about a year, they’re finally comfortable enough to showcase their status as more than friends. They’ve been gushing over one another for weeks and, last night on Instagram Live, JT couldn’t help herself from blushing out-of-control when Uzi invaded the session.

The two spoke about JT’s day at work, which involved a few photoshoots. Their cute exchange also included a bit that fans have been going crazy over, with Uzi telling JT that he wants to have her children.

“Okay baby, I love you. Let’s have some chocolate babies,” said Uzi before getting off the call. “Okay, I got you,” replied JT, bashful about it all. “I’ma have you a few,” she added after he hung up. Could we be welcoming some babies from the hottest new rap couple sometime soon?

This wasn’t the only exchange they shared over the last twenty-four hours on social media. Uzi also posted their text messages, in which he asks the City Girl to curse a girl out for him on Twitter. She appears to have obliged.

On JT’s side, her man has been trolling her by using a filter that gives her a bleeding diamond in the middle of her forehead, much like he personally sported after getting his $24 million implant.

Are you a fan of JT and Lil Uzi Vert together? Are you excited about the possibility of them having kids?

Saweetie Confirmed She’s In Talks With Cardi B And Said They’re Waiting For The ‘Right Record’

Yesterday in an interview with Angela Yee of the Breakfast Club, Saweetie gave more life to the rumors that she and Cardi B are planning something together. Though Saweetie only just collaborated with another one of the biggest rappers in the game, with Doja Cat on “Best Friend,” of course her fans Cardi’s army would love to see her back in the mix with one of the reigning queens of rap. Speaking of rap queens, the rumors that she’ll be working with Nicki Minaj have also been swirling.

For now, it seems like the collab with Cardi is definitely a possibility, but it will depend on the pair finding the right song to be on together. “Our teams have definitely been talking,” Saweetie said. “I think we’re kinda just waiting for that right record. I think the media just likes to take things out of context, and I’m loving how women artists are starting to realize that sometimes it’s the media that creates something that’s not there. I think it just shows maturity and growth amongst me and my peers to not be affected what the media says.”

Since Saweetie is dating Quavo and Cardi has a child with Offset, maybe we’ll get a track with both female stars and some Migos triplets. A girl can dream! Check out the full interview above to learn more about Saweetie.

Flying Lotus Shares A First Look At ‘Yasuke,’ His Black Samurai Anime Series Coming To Netflix

For three years, Flying Lotus has been hard at work as part of the team creating the upcoming Netflix anime series Yasuke. It’s lead is voiced by LaKeith Stanfield and follows the story of a Black samurai in war-torn feudal Japan who returns to service to protect a young girl from dark forces. The show is expected to be released at the end of April, and Flying Lotus has just shared a teaser.

Flying Lotus, who scored the entirety of the series, posted the first images from Yasuke to social media. “Proud to share these first images,” he wrote. “3 years in the making and we are finally here… Honor has a new name.”

The musician also revealed how much he’s enjoyed working on the project. “Working on anime is my new favorite thing,” he wrote. “I think imma try n stay a while. Can happily keep doin it. Makes sense to me.”

LeSean Thomas, executive producer and creator of Yasuke, described why the story line piqued his attention in a blog post for Netflix:

“There is a serendipitous nature about this project, how an African-American man goes to Japan to live and work amongst the very best in Japanese anime to create an anime about an African who goes to Japan to live amongst the Japanese elite and become a warrior. Yasuke is a fascinating, mysterious figure in Japanese history that’s drawn a growing interest in today’s media over the decades. I first learned of Yasuke’s role in Japanese history over a decade or so. The children’s book, Kuro-suke by Kurusu Yoshio, featured images that piqued my curiosity. To eventually learn that he wasn’t just a fictional character, but a real person, was exciting material for an adventure story.”

DJ Clark Kent Recalls Convincing Jay-Z To Switch From Hustling To Rap

When it comes to hip-hop history, Talib Kweli and Jasmin Leigh have been holding it down in a major way with their People’s Party podcast. In the latest episode, the pair recently connected with DJ Clark Kent (who produced three tracks on Jay-Z’s Reasonable Doubt), who shared a few key insights about his early days working with Biggs, Dame Dash, and a still-hustling Jay-Z.

When asked about the process of convincing a young Jay-Z to give up hustling in favor of pursuing a rap career, Clark Kent has a chuckle. “Everybody who was a part of Roc-a-Fella in the very-very-very beginning overlapped,” he reflects, alluding to the two worlds of hip-hop and hustling. “Biggs overlapped, Dame overlapped. Jay overlapped. It’s just I’m out there going No. Make this rap shit. You have to understand, I had a job at a rap company very young. I was like no. We gotta do this instead.”

“I got there, and two days later I’m trying to find [Jaz-O] and Jay-Z,” he continues. “Like no, we gotta do this. Because they’re the first rappers I thought should have a record deal. I went looking for them, and it took a while to find them, but it was we need to be doing this. I just didn’t want to die, I didn’t want to go to jail. I wanted things to be going better. And I didn’t want them to go to jail.”

“They had actual true talent,” praises Clark. “I been around some people who rap, and I’m like yeah, I’m cool. I been around some people who sing, I’m like yeah, I’m cool. When I heard Jay and Jaz the first time, when we was all teenagers, I was like — that’s some other shit.” When Jasmin Leigh inquires about when the decision was made to stop hustling, Kent draws up a frame of reference. “I think right about the time Reasonable Doubt dropped. It was like oh shit, it’s working. The thing was, [Jay] was going to retire. I was the only one who knew he wasn’t retiring. He’s way too talented and it’s not going to be enough.”

“He was doing way too well before rap,” he continues. “This rap thing was going to do fine, but it’s not going to do as well in the beginning. But it’s just way too easy for him. They all believed that it would just be one album, and we’d laugh at everyone. I’m the only one telling people around me ‘it’s not going to be one album.'”
