Nas’ ‘King’s Disease 2’ Tracklist Includes Features From Eminem And Lauryn Hill

Last year, Hit-Boy helped Nas overcome his recent album slump, executive producing the Queens legend’s latest full-length, King’s Disease. The results spoke for themselves; not only was the album credited with breaking rap fans’ prevailing “Nas has a tin ear for beats” narrative, but it was also one of the most critically acclaimed rap projects of the year.

It looks like the two principals were pretty impressed with each other, as they recently announced a follow-up titled King’s Disease II to be released on the same projected date as Kanye West’s Donda. Either that, or it’ll be a Lost Tapes-type release collecting some of the cutting room clippings from the original sessions and stitching them together — which has worked for Nas before on Lost Tapes. Today, they shared the tracklist, revealing collaborations with A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Blxst, Eminem, EPMD, Lauryn Hill, and YG.

King’s Disease II will thus mark the second collaboration between Nas and Em and Nas and Lauryn. While Eminem produced Nas’s 2002 God’s Son song “The Cross,” Nas and Ms. Hill collaborated on Nas’ biggest hit to date, 1996’s “If I Ruled The World” from It Was Written. DaBaby Removed From Two More Festival Lineups

DaBaby is getting dropped from festival line-ups left, right, and center following the homophobic and largely misinformed comments he made at Rolling Loud festival in Miami last month. The rapper found himself engulfed in controversy that he initially refused to apologize for. Well, at least until it started affecting his bag.

More and more festivals are dropping DaBaby from their line-ups. It was reported this morning that DaBaby was officially removed from the Austin City Limits festival line-up. That came after he was dropped from the Lollapalooza lineup, Governor’s Ball, and Day N Vegas. Two more festivals have announced that DaBaby will no longer be performing on their stages. iHeart Radio Music Festival and Midtown Music Festival have both pulled Charlotte rapper from their lineups.

DaBaby offered a second apology for his comments yesterday prior to being removed from the festival stage. “I want to apologize to the LGBTQ+ community for the hurtful and triggering comments I made. Again, I apologize for my misinformed comments about HIV/AIDS and I know education on this is important,” he wrote on his Instagram page.

DaBaby faced widespread backlash from industry legends. Questlove recently denounced DaBaby’s comments while both Madonna and Elton John issued statements calling out the rapper’s homophobic comments. However, DaBaby’s also received support from people like Boosie Badazz and Akademiks.

We’ll keep you posted on any more updates regarding DaBaby.

Wale Reflects On 11 Years Of “More About Nothing” & Possible Re-Release

The streaming era has plenty of positives for music listeners, namely the convenience of having a vast musical library at one’s disposal. Yet one of the most glaring negatives — at least for many hip-hop fans — is the more-or-less complete omission of mixtapes. Given how many classic tapes have been released throughout the years, be it late-nineties drops of the more recent mixtapes-as-albums era, their absence is certainly felt.

Being an artist who originally forged his reputation through his mixtape catalog, Wale knows all about that life. In fact, today happens to mark the eleven-year anniversary of his beloved More About Nothing mixtape, the Seinfeld-inspired sequel to his 2008 Mixtape About Nothing.

Though many still hold his pair of Seinfeld tapes dear to heart, the rapper has found it difficult to transition both projects to streaming platforms. Not for lack of effort, however, as Wale confirms he’s been attempting to make it happen for two years now.

“I secretly been working for two years to rerelease this,” writes Wale, taking to Twitter to share an update. “I did everything in my power to surprise y’all and get this on dsp today. But it’s really impossible to clear EVERYTHING no matter how much I tried .. maybe one day. Happy Bday to the SECOND “about nothing” project.”

Many used the opportunity to reminisce on their favorite tracks, and before long, Wale’s Twitter thread had turned into a stroll down memory lane evocative of the Seinfeld clip-show “The Chronicle” — all that’s missing is Green Day’s “Good Riddance.” Alas, the road to re-releasing a mixtape on streaming platforms is a long and arduous one; while some artists like Curren$y and Wiz Khalifa have seen success, there are plenty of classics yet to make the transition. Perhaps they never will.

On a more positive note, Wale’s tape sounds as refreshing today as it did all those years ago. We wish him luck in his efforts to bring the tape to streaming platforms, even if it doesn’t appear to be on the table for now. Happy anniversary to More About Nothing.

Drake Comments On Kyle Lowry’s Sign & Trade To The Miami Heat

The latter half of the 2010s was an interesting handful of years for the NBA. Apart from the stronghold that the Golden State Warriors continued to have on the NBA Finals, two of the league’s most deprived franchises earned their first-ever championships. One of those franchises was the Toronto Raptors, who helped debunk the “Drake Curse” theory and deliver an NBA Championship to the city of Toronto.

Led by Kyle Lowry, Kawhi Leonard, and Fred VanVleet, the 2018-2019 Raptors squad will forever be remembered by Toronto fans, but two years following their surprise Finals win over Golden State, a major change has shaken up the Raptors roster. Nine-year Raptor Kyle Lowry has officially been sent to the Miami Heat in a game-changing sign-and-trade, and now Drake has taken to Instagram to celebrate everything that Lowry has done for his city.

Taking a moment to show love to Lowry on his Instagram story, Drake shared a photo of Kyle Lowry holding the Larry O’Brien NBA Championship Trophy while wearing a red and white Toronto Raptors uniform. In another story post, Drake shared a picture of himself, Kyle Lowry, and DeMar DeRozan from an issue of SLAM! magazine.

“@kyle_lowry7 the city is yours eternally and we wish you the best in south beach…,” Drake stated underneath the sentimental throwback. “We will continue to celebrate you.”

Utah Jazz Pick Up Rudy Gay In First Day Of Free Agency

The Utah Jazz, one of the Western Conference’s fiercest competitors, clearly had their priorities in line for the August 2nd start of free agency. Earlier this morning, the team added 34-year-old former San Antonio Spur and NBA veteran Rudy Gay to the roster alongside yesterday’s contract extension of Mike Conley. Rudy Gay is locked in for two years with the team with a $12.1 million salary.

Along with announcements from industry insiders, Rudy Gay himself hinted at the deal with an Instagram post of a “Welcome to Utah” sign.

Rudy Gay’s addition to the team will hopefully position the Utah Jazz for a more successful post-season run. Rudy Gay posted impressive stats both in the paint and outside the 3-point line last season, shooting 38.1 percent from three and posterizing the defense with flashy dunks.

The Utah Jazz, first seeded in the Western Conference, suffered a tragic loss to the LA Clippers during the Western Conference Semifinals during June’s playoffs. The series, which had been led 2-0 by the Jazz, quickly fell apart as Jazz stars Donovan Mitchell and Mike Conley fell victim to minor, yet inhibitory injuries. It seems the Jazz hope for Rudy Gay to pose as another consistent scorer in the upcoming season.

San Antonio Fans took to twitter to congratulate the player while Utah Fans celebrated the addition. “Rudy Gay proved a lot of people wrong coming back from that Achilles tear. He’s a hooper, a comedian and community organizer who served as a wonderful vet for the young guys. He’ll be missed in San Antonio, even though it was time for both player and team to move on,” Spurs reporter Tom Petrini tweeted.

Check out the announcement and some reactions below.

Kim Kardashian Flaunts Her Cheeks In Black Bikini

If it’s one thing Kim Kardashian knows how to do, it’s capture the attention of social media. The beauty mogul reminded everyone of that when she casually dropped her latest thirst trap on Instagram. Kanye West’s soon-to-be ex-wife posted a picture of herself on the beach in a smoldering black two-piece and cleverly captioned the post, “resting beach face.”

Kim’s younger sister Khloe made sure to get in on the fun as well. Khloe got in Kimmy’s comment section and wrote, “Goodness that water is blue,” cheekily ignoring her sister’s thirst trap attempt. Kim and Khloe’s almost brother-in-law Scott Disick also joined in, and commented, “what a beach.”

In contrast to her latest post, Kim’s other Instagram activity includes a gallery of her and son Saint, one of her four kids with Kanye West. In the adorable pictures of Kim and Saint sharing a meal, she captioned the post “No one cuter.” The post drew affection from fellow celebrities that include Nicki Minaj, Winnie Harlow, and Snoh Aalegra

Kim Kardashian is clearly still living her best life despite her divorce proceedings with Kanye and business-related legal battles. Let us know if you’re here for it. Check out the latest pic above.
