Drake Reacts To LeBron James’ “Certified Lover Boy” Update

Certified Lover Boy is coming soon, according to Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James. The all-time great shared an update on Drake’s next studio album, hyping up the release and reminding people that it’s set to drop before the end of the summer.

Taking to Instagram Stories, LeBron wrote, “CLB [heart emoji] coming soon people!! My brother ain’t fn around! [owl emoji] @champagnepapi.”

Drake reposted the message to his own Stories, adding a laughing emoji, a grimacing face, a sighing man, and an emoji with steam coming from its nose. The text post included a snippet of an upcoming song from The Boy.

Early this morning, Drake updated his social media with a video of himself driving in a droptop convertible before sharing a photo from the studio. On FaceTime with one of his engineers, the Toronto native seemingly teased that the album was near completion, making a CLB doodle with “2021” written underneath.

As of now, there has not been a release date announced for the album, which was originally announced with a January drop date. Following Drake’s knee surgery, the project was pushed back so the rapper could focus on his health and recovery. Now, he’s back in the swing of things and he’s ready to shake up the summer.

Dame D.O.L.L.A Drops Off New Single “The Juice”

Shortly after taking home the gold medal for men’s basketball at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, Dame D.O.L.L.A is back with the lead single of his upcoming album Different On Levels The Lord Allowed. “The Juice” features guest vocals from Jane Handcock, who floats over the warbling synth instrumental before Dame takes flight. Lyrically, Dolla proceeds to vent about the industry as he sees it, emphasizing the high-stakes that accompany a rap career.

“I ride my own wave, facts but I’m intrigued by a few,” he raps. “I see potential but I’m probably just deceived by the view / My heart’s sincere as it appears, man, I’m three hundred proof.” Overall, the track is somewhat of a slow-burner, which allows Dame to connect with his listeners on a more direct level; while it might not be quite so infectious as some of his previous drops, it certainly goes a long way where character development is concerned.

Check out “The Juice” now, and be sure to keep an eye out for Dame D.O.L.L.A’s upcoming album Different On Levels The Lord Allowed. Do you think he’s basketball’s best rapper, as he once declared himself to be?

Trey Songz’ Reaction To A Woman Seemingly Spiking His Drink Goes Viral

Trey Songz was at the nightclub this week when he nearly got into a horrible situation. A viral video that has been shared by multiple social media blogs shows the moment a woman poured something into his drink, and it appears that it was without his consent.

The video was shared by a third party who captured the moment, showing Trigga Trey speaking with a friend at the club when a woman pours something into his drink. He proceeds to give her the side-eye before looking down at his drink with skepticism before looking back at her with another glare. Clearly, the singer caught on to what had happened and was wary about taking another sip.

As the video continues to circulate this morning, there has been a divided response to it. Some people have found the clip to be pretty humorous, laughing at Trey’s reaction to the entire ordeal. Others are claiming that the video isn’t funny and that if the roles were reversed and the video showed Trey pouring something into the woman’s drink, there would be a major issue.

Trey Songz has not commented on the video.

Curren$y & Trauma Tone Unite For “Carry On”

Yesterday, Curren$y revealed — albeit briefly — that he’s sitting on a new album called Highest In Charge, produced in its entirety by Trauma Tone. Now, Spitta has come through to deliver the project’s lead single “Carry On,” and as expected, it’s another solid release from the game’s king of consistency.

Behind the boards, Tone blesses Curren$y with something a little outside his comfort zone, a hard-hitting beat driven by a groovy bassline and unrelenting hi-hats. Spitta delivers an intense performance by his standards, catching a variety of pockets as he lets fly a dexterous flow; lyrically, we’re looking at some of his favorite topics — but delivered with enough cleverness and charisma to keep things exciting. Overall, “Carry On” is an excellent start, and the upcoming collaborative drop from Spitta and Tone should bring plenty more where that came from when it eventually lands in full.

Kanye West Is Apparently Moving Into Another Stadium To Finish ‘Donda’

After his first Donda listening event at Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Kanye West confirmed the rumors that he was temporarily living in the venue while he finished work on the album. Now, it appears he’s moving out, but not back into a more traditional sort of home. Instead, it appear he’s relocating to another stadium.

This news comes via West collaborator KayCyy, who noted in a now-deleted tweet (as XXL reports), “We moving to another stadium.”

As the publication notes, other stadiums in the Atlanta area to which West could move include State Farm Arena, Truist Park, and Russ Chandler Stadium. Of course, there’s also the possibility that West will land in a stadium in a different part of the world entirely.

As for when Donda will be released, that remains unclear. West apparently noticed a mixing mistake during his second Donda listening event, so there’s still work to be done. As it stands now, streaming platforms like Apple Music say the album is set for this week, August 13, although neither West nor anybody from his team have made that announcement. Even if there was a confirmed release date, though, West has proven, with this album and previous efforts, that these deadlines can’t necessarily be treated as gospel.

NoCap Returns With New Single “Vaccine”

Mobile, Alabama-based rapper NoCap has not been dealt an easy hand. The 22-year-old rapper, who is affiliated with YoungBoy Never Broke Again, has been in and out of jail for the last few years as he attempts to launch his superstar music career. Every time he seems to gain some traction though, things go south for him. Hopefully, his upcoming stretch can cement him as one of the most skilled storytellers in hip-hop.

The extremely talented young man was released from jail last month and his new music video for “Vaccine,” which was released just a couple of days ago, has already nearly reached a million views, speaking to how accessible NoCap’s music is. Despite not being uploaded to streaming services yet, “Vaccine” looks to be one of his recent hits, and it should be arriving more widely in a matter of time.

Check out the video below. What do you think?

All that free time got ’em lying but I’m too busy being honest
