Summer Walker Asks “What Happened” To Hip Hop After Reminiscing On The OGs

The “Playing Games” singer has never been quiet about her personal opinion, even if it rubs the general public the wrong way, and her her thoughts on the current state of hip-hop are no exception.

Summer took to her Instagram Story to low-key rant about the good ol’ days of hip-hop, saying, “N**** was so cool back in then like literally player af… Pimp C, Andre 3000, Big Boy, Common, Pharell, Snoop, Tupac, B.I.G., Ice Cube, lol what happen. I mean I know what happen but I can’t say haha.”

She then edited her statement saying, “My bad Nas too, at least we have Anderson Paak for this generation.”

The posts were shared on Summer’s unfiltered personal Instagram account, @galactawhore, where she shares memes, text posts, outfit photos and her favorite black female IG models.

Many of the TheShadeRoom commenters weighed on what they think Summer may have been hinting at, one user suggesting, ‘ppl started supporting bullshit music and made ppl think they’re actually talented.” One user turned the tables, asking “Could the same question be asked about women?” Another also brought drugs into the conversation stating, “They stopped selling drugs and started doing them.”

What do you think about Summer’s comments? Let us know below.

Chet Hanks Slammed For Anti-Vaccine Rant

Chet Hanks is making a name for himself with his frequent antics and “White Boy Summer” tagline, but the thirty-one-year-old will forever be linked to his famous actor father.

Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson were among the first celebrities to contract COVID-19 back in March 2020 (at least publicly), further magnifying the reality of the virus for many Americans. The couple’s son is now speaking out against the vaccine, a surprising move for considering his parents went through it.

On Monday, Chet shared a video trolling those who encourage others to get vaccinated. He starts the video calmly, sharing “influencer”-esque sentiments like, “I got the vaccine, I think everybody should…we have to look out for each other and get this shit under control…”, he then screams “PSYCH” in the camera, going on to yell, “why are we working around yall? If you’re in danger stay your ass inside. I’m sick of wearing a mask.”

After receiving backlash, Chet shared a straightforward message to his Instagram story stating, “THE VACCINE SHOULD BE A CHOICE NOT A REQUIREMENT TO PERFORM OUR BASIC RIGHTS YEAH I SAID IT!!!!! BE AS MAD AS YOU WANT IDGAF!!!!”

Tom and Rita have yet to comment on their son’s latest antics, but as we reported, Tom previously stated he has “no respect” for those who weren’t wearing masks when they were required.

Rihanna Reminds The World How Good She Smells As Celebrities Reveal Their Bathing Habits

In recent days, there has been a fascination with celebrities and their bathing habits. It started towards the end of July, when Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis revealed that they only bathe their children when “you can see the dirt on them.” Fellow celebrity couple Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard revealed they share a similar philosophy, with Bell saying, “Once you catch a whiff, that’s biology’s way of letting you know you need to clean it up.”

Famous people like Jake Gyllenhaal, Jason Momoa, and The Rock have all since declared that they are regular bathers. Now, on a related note, Rihanna is reminding the world how good she smells: Yesterday, she shared a montage of celebrities noting how good she smells and the clip features people like Lil Nas X, Cardi B, Jennifer Lawrence, and many others.

“Just sayin’,” Rihanna captioned her post.

Rihanna’s tweet likely has more to do with her recently released first Fenty fragrance, Fenty Eau de Parfum, than it does the current fascination with celebrity bathing, but the timing is too perfect to ignore.

As for the perfume, it went on sale today, and unsurprisingly, it has already sold out. Interested parties can sign up to be notified when it’s back in stock, though, so learn more about that here.

Flee Lord & Roc Marciano Tap Stove God Cooks For “Trim the Fat”

Flee Lord and Roc Marciano announced their joint project Delgado last month. The project, entirely produced by Roc Marciano, serves as Flee Lord’s follow-up Rammellzee produced entirely by DJ Muggs. With the project due out on Aug. 27th, the two have united to unveil the first single off of the project, “Trim The Far” ft. Stove God Cooks.

“The project that Roc and I put together has some amazing features, and we spent a good amount of time trying to figure out who we were going to tap for which song, but with ‘Trim The Fat,’ as soon as I heard the beat, before I even recorded my vocals, I knew I needed Stove God to touch this,” Flee Lord told Complex. “I ran it by Roc and he felt the same way. Knowing how crazy Stove God was going to go on this motivated me to and I went to work. After Roc and I heard Stove’s verse, there was no doubt that we had to kick things off with ‘Trim The Fat.’”

Bfb Da Packman Gets Finessed By Fake Lil Durk Account

Bfb Da Packman has a viral hit song on his hands with “Ocean Prime” featuring Coi Leray continuing to climb the TikTok ranks, but he’s angling to get his next big record after getting finessed from a fake Lil Durk account on Instagram.

There have been a number of artist-targeted scams on social media as impersonators pretend to be rappers in need of some cash. Lil Durk is one of the artists that people are trying to mimic, and the scam was so spot-on (or was it?) that rapper Bfb Da Packman fell for it.

Posting his DM interaction with the fake account, the mailman-turned-rapper wrote, “My n***a smurk a real one.” The conversation went as such:

“Hey it’s the voice of the streets here, MAN WHAT!? man my account got hacked gang. Shorty I need ta borrow 500 till the first, gotta provide for the streets. stay dangerous foenem. SMURK.”

Bfb responded, “Been rocking with you since you had dreads the first time smurk real n***as happy you came up like this. Send yo CashApp name gang.”

The viral post continued to gain traction online as “MAN WHAT” began to trend on Twitter, with people joking about the messages. This may end up working in Bfb Da Packman’s favor at the end of the day because he’s trying to get a feature out of it.

“I’m dead @lildurk let me buy a feature bro we got to come video and feature after this shit,” he wrote in a follow-up post.
