[WATCH] Pusha T Calls Jay-Z The Best Rapper

Jay Z Pusha T

Pusha T appeared on SiriusXM’s Hip-Hop Nation to promote his latest project It’s Almost Dry: Pharrell vs.Ye.

During his conversation with SiriusXM’s Swaggy Sie, Pusha T discussed why he believes Jay-Z is the best rapper and more.

“Hov, to me… he’s the best rapper, like just period. So when I reach out to him about a record, I feel like he sort of knows that, like, you know I’m not reaching out to him about no bullshit… I must really think that this is like, a joint… something that’s gonna add to the great legacy that he has.”

He continued, “I’ll basically just write the verse, lay the hook down, I do everything and just send it to him with a space open… He’ll hit back, and this particular time he was like, ‘Man, what you want me to say to this man? You going crazy!’ And I was like, ‘Man, just, you know, turn it up like…’ I only send records to him when I feel like there’s more needed to the record and there’s nothing else I can really say to it. Where he’s made it in his career and in his life he can always add an uptick to the record. I can’t say what he says.”

Happy Birthday To Oakland Rap Icon Too $hort!

Screen Shot 2022 04 28 at 8.29.01 AM

Today, we say happy birthday to one of the original West Coasters, Too $hort, born on this date in 1966.

As one of Hip Hop’s first self-made businessmen, $hort started off his career pumping his own X-rated mixtapes out of the trunk of his car. Releasing fifteen albums between 1987 and 2012, Too $hort has made tracks with everyone from B.I.G. and 2Pac to Lil Jon and Pimp C. As one of Hip Hop’s most versatile emcees, he’s found himself featured on, and featuring, tracks with the world’s other most respected lyricists.

Hailing from Oakland, he is considered one of the pioneers of the West Coast style, with many of his early works charting several times in the Top 10 for Billboard. Years later, he relocated to Atlanta, experimenting with the “Dirty South” sound for several years post-2000, resulting in his most well known party starter, and recent hit, “Blow The Whistle”.

Chef Fab: Fabolous Hits the Kitchen and Shows His ‘Struggle Meal’ with Fans Online

Fabolous Breaks his Silence About Emily B Assault

If you looking for a caterer, don’t call Fabolous. The rapper is exquisite with the bars but can only hold down himself in the kitchen. Loso hit Instagram and told his followers he “Decided to try to cook something” and showed a bag of Top Ramen, frozen mixed vegetables, and salmon. The food didn’t come out like Saweetie’s, thankfully, but it still leaves room for jokes online.

What do you think of his struggle meal?

Azealia Banks Speaks Against Murder in Hip Hop: “It’s Not Gangsta, It’s Not Cool”

Azealia Banks Says DaBaby Should Have Been Canceled

Azealia Banks hit Instagram and called out rappers, music executives, and ultimately how all the parties involved led to the murders of artists. “Hiphop audiences are so ghetto and backwards sometime,” Banks opened.

“We need an intellectual glow up fucking pronto,” Banks added. “We cannot be this addicted to/excited about such run of the mill human shit. Knowing that most MEN and WOMEN IN THE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY will exchange sexual favors for Job opportunities is not news. The difference is: these white actors who are sucking dick for lead roles aren’t shooting and killing one another!!!!”

Banks would double back to let rappers know murder in Hip-Hop is not the way. “This Hip Hop murder shit really has to fucking stop. It’s not fun. It’s not gangsta, it’s not cool, it’s like, it’s ruining fucking everything.”

You can see her full message here.

Banks is not the only one pushing to stop guns and murder in Hip-Hop. Earlier this year, Bobby shared a new set of images on Instagram where he enjoyed the company of a massive group of women and shared a message to put the guns down in music videos.

“I don’t wanna see nooo guns in Videos this year str8 Gyal,” Bobby wrote. “Y’all niggas ain’t using them anyway you on the gram with it niggga.”

Pusha T on Joining a Drake Collaboration With Kanye West: “I’m Cool on All of That”

Pusha T on Joining a Drake Collaboration With Kanye West: “I’m Cool on All of That”

When you have one of the most discussed beef in Hip-Hop history, you will be asked about it for years to come. For Pusha T, many questions he received during his It’s Almost Dry press run have turned to Drake. Drizzy and Pusha’s close friend Kanye West have patched things up but don’t look toward King Push being open to hopping on a track.

During a conversation with Sirius XM Shade 45, Pusha T said he has no ambition to make it happen. “I thought that was really good for them,” said Pusha. “I thought that was good for them. I think they have this thing where they sort of need to co-exist. Those two need to co-exist in their world and play within where they at.”

But as for a song, “Nah! No, I’m cool on all of that. I know the song I want to make, I know the people I wanna work with, and it ain’t that. I want Ye to produce it, but other than that, I definitely don’t wanna do a record.”

Are you upset that Pusha T wants no part of a Drake song?
