Angel Reese has been having a sensational rookie campaign with the Chicago Sky of the WNBA. Reese has been a double-double machine who continues to be a rebound leader throughout the league. Although her shot-making needs some work, she has been otherworldly in other areas of the game. Furthermore, she is in a heated battle for rookie of the year with Indiana Fever sensation, Caitlin Clark.

Reese has been experiencing quite a bit of fame a of late, and she has certainly taken full advantage. The star has been to quite a few music festivals and has also been seen with celebrities like G Herbo. Most recently, however, she found herself on stage at Lollapalooza. Down below, you can see that Reese surprised Megan Thee Stallion, who was performing in front of a massive crowd. The crowd gave a massive ovation, and it was a cool moment for everyone involved.

Angel Reese is currently on break for the Olympics. Once the Olympics are over, then the WNBA will start back up again. The last stretch of the season will be interesting to watch, especially with the rookie of the year race in full swing. Only time will tell whether or not Reese and Sky teammates can keep things going in the right direction. If one thing is for certain, it is that this has been one of the best WNBA seasons in recent memory. With Reese and Clark in the league, the W is going to be thriving for years to come.

Lauryn Hill Wows Fans With Performance Of Bob Marley’s “Turn Your Lights Down Low” At Reggae Sumfest

Lauryn Hill impressed fans at Reggae Sumfest 2024, this week, by performing her verse from Bob Marley’s iconic, “Turn Your Lights Down Low.” When XXL shared a clip of the show on X (formerly Twitter), fans flocked to the replies with praise for the legendary singer.

“Beautiful voice still i love that song,” one user wrote. Another added: “Whew I got chills, she still got it! Ah Lauren.” Other fans complained about other aspects of the performance. “First, the dudes should be quiet…secondly, my people..can we just take a break with the horns? It isn’t champs, you there to listen to music for the love of all that is good,” one argued. One more wrote: “The backup guys ruining the whole vibe they need to go away for good.” Other users made jokes about Hill often arriving late to her concerts.

In that regard, Hill fired back at the criticism she’s received over the years during her tour celebrating the 25th anniversary of The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, last year. “They say, ‘Oh, she’s late’ and ‘She’s late tonight.’ Yo, y’all lucky I make it on this … stage every night,” she told the audience at one show. “I leave my soul on this stage. And I don’t do it because they let me. I do it because I stand here in the name of God. And I know it. God is the one who allows me to do it, who surrounded me with family and community when there was no support when the album sold so many records and no one showed up and said, ‘Hey, would you like to make another one?’”

Saweetie Faces Chaos As Fight Breaks Out During Her Festival Set

Saweetie may be hot off the presses of her new single “NANi,” but the fiery track isn’t enough to distract some rowdy fans at her shows. Moreover, she recently performed at the Vegandale festival, and footage emerged of the crowd storming away from the stage after a fight broke out. In fact, you can hear the Icy Girl provide her best efforts to calm folks down and check in with the rest to make sure that they’re safe, but it seems like things escalated far too quickly for her to mitigate the situation. It’s unclear whether her set continued or if this resulted in an early cut.

Furthermore, this is far from the toughest circumstances that Saweetie’s had to face in her career, as she recently spoke on her difficult come-up before the fame. Fortunately, it seems like this has been a pretty fruitful year so far in this career, with fresh new singles and a whole lot of social media hype. At press time, she still hasn’t responded to this Vegandale incident, but we also don’t know how clear she or her team is on the matter to be able to respond. After all, there are probably a lot of important items on the docket.

But not all of Saweetie’s headlines this year have been in-house, as she found herself in the middle of one of 2024’s numerous rap beefs. For those unaware, Quavo and Chris Brown battled earlier this year, including claims that she cheated on the former Migo with Breezy while they were still together. The Los Angeles native seemed to dismiss most of this, although she hit Quay with some shade amid his efforts to reach out again. It all seems pretty complicated, but she’s not breaking a sweat over it.

Meanwhile, Saweetie’s most recent interview held more interesting insights into her mentality, trajectory, and next moves. Hopefully future performances don’t fall victim to combative folks in the crowd again, but it’s obviously hard to arrange for this. After all, she and her team are just one part of the multi-faceted organism that is live music. But props are in order for trying to keep things civil and fun.

Summer Walker’s recent festival performances have gotten her a lot of praise, and her latest show at the TwoGether Land Festival was no exception. Moreover, some new clips emerged from the fun performance, including some new twerking skills that are a far cry from the intimacy and subtlety of other of her concerts. That’s not a knock against the Atlanta native, though, as it was nonetheless a vibrant and impressive showing. She even brought out 4batz as a special guest, and it was heartening to see him gift her a Louis Vuitton bag onstage and, most importantly, thank her for the opportunity.

Furthermore, there were plenty of reasons as to why this TwoGether Land Festival set was a pretty satisfying and notable one. However, elsewhere in the headlines, Summer Walker discussion tends to center more around her personal life, such as her relationship with Lil Meech which he recently explained the dissolution of. “It was just, we just grew apart,” he told The OG Talk podcast. “I still got love for Summer, you know? She’s a good girl. No bad blood, no nothing.”

Of course, all this discussion is pretty moot for most fans in the face of her art, and 2024’s held some great moments for Summer Walker so far. For example, she recently appeared on Childish Gambino’s “Sweetest Thang” off of his “new” album Atavista. It’s a remixed, updated version of his 2020 album 3.15.20 containing new features, instrumentals, and structures, and it’s definitely one of the most interesting listens of 2024 so far considering that evolution. Hopefully there are more great features and solo songs on the way this year, although the quality of these festival performances certainly keeps the hunger at bay.

Meanwhile, as Summer Walker is moving onto a very talked-about new relationship, we hope that there are also great developments in her personal life. Even with all the pressures of being a famous singer, there are a lot of ways in which support and care tower above all. Tyler The Creator says he was jealous of Doja Cat’s Coachella performance because she was surrounded by backup dancers and got to wear wigs. Performing again at the festival this weekend, he joked that the set made him want to do an Igor show again.

“I was with Doja Cat yesterday,” he said. “And I told her,’I’m jealous that you have backup dancers. N****. Just a bunch of sweaty n****s onstage with you, helping you look sweaty. F*ck. She got the wigs and sh*t. I need to do the ‘Igor’ sh*t one more time with the wig and sh*t.”

Parker Genoway, a creative director and designer for Silent House who worked on Doja’s set, discussed how it came together with Uproxx. “She was always like, ‘I want a dinosaur. I really want a dinosaur,’” he told the outlet. “And so when we started thinking about, ‘Let us work backwards. What kind of world could this be? Is this prehistoric, or is this post-apocalyptic? Has society crumbled?’… I think when I like to create a world, I want layers and I want versatility, and I want to be able to deliver a show that evolves and does not just stay the same the whole time.”

50 Cent is puzzled by Lil Uzi Vert’s behavior at Coachella and wants to know want made them rock painted nails with a purse on stage at the festival. He reacted to the polarizing moves in a post on Instagram, on Saturday. “Something is in the water,” 50 captioned a MediaTakeOut article covering the set. “What make you do that bro?”

Fans were divided in the comments section. One agreed with 50 and wrote: “Anybody that says this is normal or says he ain’t hurtin’ nobody, etc, is outta they damn mind too!” A fan of Uzi’s countered with: “He living his best life don’t gotta worry about any battle rap beef from him it’s all rainbow happy vibez.”

Despite 50’s criticism of Uzi, their partner, JT, came to their defense on Twitter. One user tagged her in a post reading: “Wait wait wait Lil Uzi was vogueing last night. And he did the death drop! Now @ThegirlJT we need answers ma ma.” In response, JT fired back: “You actually need edges. Y’all obsession with someone you don’t have to deal with is spooky asf! What is it to you? Grimes Speaks Out After Mortifying Coachella Set Riddled With Issues: “Plz Forgive Me!”

Grimes has shared a lengthy apology for her Coachella set from Saturday, which was riddled with technical difficulties. While things started off okay, she began explaining that things on her mixing desk weren’t working properly. In turn, she screamed into the mic several times and was visibly frustrated for the remainder of her time on stage while trying to troubleshoot the issue. Sunday morning, she spoke out about the incident in a lengthy tweet.

“I want to apologize for the technical issues with the show tonight,” she said. “I wanted to come back rly strong and usually I always handle every aspect of my show myself – to save time this was one of the first times I’ve outsourced essential things like rekordbox bpm’s and letting someone else organize the tracks on the sd card etc, I had a bad feeling beforehand not having run everything thru the cdjs myself and tho I flagged it I wasn’t insistent.” From there, she listed several lessons she learned from the incident.

Grimes added that things will be better for the next performance. “I will personally organize all the files next week,” she promised. “I will not let such a thing happen again. I’ve spent months on this show, making music and visuals, and admittedly am not in the best mood atm. But, yeh – next week will be flawless, everything will run thru my hands. Some good lessons learned. Bless y’all. The cdjs were showing me bpms like 370 so I couldn’t even mix manually by ear and the front monitors were off so it was literally sonic chaos on my end trying to guess how stuff was sounding for u guys. Lil Uzi Vert Releases Eminem-Inspired “Theminem” Merch & Vogues At Coachella

Lil Uzi Vert, who performed at Coachella on Friday night, sold merch at the festival making a play on words of their pronouns as well as Eminem. The $40 black t-shirt features the word “THEMINEM” across the front. Uzi came out as using they/them pronouns back in July 2022.

Speaking with 032c magazine, last summer, they explained: “No, I never hesitated but I did take my time to learn as much as I could about this before I was able to proceed. Taking the time to figure out who you are is a big part of what it means to be alive. Once you figure out whether you’re here with it, there with it, or both, you’re not alone anymore. This community offers access to a certain kind of support that you might not have had [previously during] your entire life because you weren’t raised that way. I come from a household where it’s not okay to be ‘non’ anything.”

Post Malone & Quavo Perform “Congratulations” At Rolling Loud

Post Malone brought out Quavo for a performance of their iconic collaboration, “Congratulations,” at Rolling Loud in California on Saturday night. Malone was the headliner for the third night of the festival. Earlier in the festival, Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign kicked things off as headliners for a controversial set on Thursday night, while Nicki Minaj took over the event on Friday night. The festivities will continue Sunday with Future and Metro Boomin headlining the final night.

Post Malone and Quavo released “Congratulations” back in 2016 as the fifth official single from Malone’s debut studio album, Stoney. The song peaked at number eight on the US Billboard Hot 100. The RIAA has since certified it Diamond (11× Platinum).

Metro Boomin previously detailed how the collaboration between he two came together during an appearance on the Full Send podcast in 2022. “He called me, and so I came to the studio one day,” Metro said at the time. “The same day, I was supposed to pull up on Quavo, on the same night. So, he called me while I was [working] with Post and said, ‘Where are you? Mary J. Blige will be performing at the Lovers and Friends festival in Las Vegas, this May, after a back and forth between herself and the event organizers over whether she would be present. After the organizers initially listed her on the lineup during their announcement, Blige labeled her inclusion inaccurate in a post on her Instagram Story.

“I am beyond humbled by the response from all of you about the announcement of me on Lovers & Friends Festival,” she wrote. “Unfortunately my inclusion was an error as I will be busy in preparation for my Strength of a Woman Summit just one week later! I have the greatest fans in the world and can’t wait to see you in New York in a few short months!”

Over the weekend, Lovers and Friends once against promoted Blige as a performer at the event on social media. “THE QUEEN OF R&B HERSELF, MARY J BLIGE! we can’t wait to see her perform in vegas @therealmaryjblige,” they captioned a video of her performing at the Super Bowl Halftime Show. When fans brought up her denial of being on the lineup in response, the account wrote back: “Yes she will be here! She took down the post. See you in Vegas.”
