It has been revealed that the cause of death of former MLB player Sean Burroughs died from a fentanyl overdose, according to the toxicology report, the Los Angeles County Coroner.

As reported back in May, the the ninth-overall pick in the 1998 MLB Draft was found unresponsive next to his car in a Long Beach parking lot outside his son’s Little League baseball game. He was 43 years old.

Burroughs was a coach on his son’s team and folks got worried when he didn’t show up for the start of the game. That’s when they went looking for him and found him next to his car.

As a player, Sean won back-to-back Little League World Series titles in 1992 and 1993 with the Long Beach all-star team. He became the first American-born pitcher to throw back-to-back no-hitters, earning him an appearance on The Late Show With David Letterman.

Sean was signed to play college baseball at USC, but decided to go pro instead. He eventually made it to the Majors, playing 7 seasons with the San Diego Padres, Tampa Bay Devil Rays, Arizona Diamondbacks and Minnesota Twins. He also won an Olympic gold medal with Team USA at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney.

Sean told ESPN in 2011 that he struggled with drug and alcohol abuse during his final seasons in MLB.

Coolio Had Three Bags Of Drugs With Him When He Passed

The tragic loss of Coolio shocked the hip-hop world and beyond, and now new details emerged surrounding its circumstances. Moreover, the coroner recently reported that the rapper died from a fentanyl overdose, and was also found with traces of heroin and methamphetamines in his system. Not only that, but police reportedly discovered three bags of drugs and paraphernalia at the scene, according to documents obtained by Page Six. Said bags were confirmed to belong to the “Fantastic Voyage” MC, from what authorities stated. Also, they gathered “a baggy with a brown powdery substance, foil with burn residue, a straw/tube, saline solution, [and] a spoon with residue.”

Furthermore, officials also found over-the-counter CBD products and vitamins at the scene, which was at a friend’s house in Los Angeles. In addition, these discoveries counter initial reports that no illicit substances were found at the time. Another important element is Coolio’s battle with asthma and long-term smoking, which exacerbated the overdose. Given his massive impact and multi-hyphenate entertainment work, many expressed heartbreak over his loss. Whether from the rap community or other industries, people paid their respects to his memory.

Joe Biden Administration Denies Laughing At Fentanyl Victims’ Mother, Twitter Reacts

As a man who’s spent more time in the White House than most others, Joe Biden is no stranger to the countless feuds that make place in the world of politics. Over two years into his presidency, the Pennsylvania native has been reflecting on what he’s accomplished so far, as well as what he’s got planned for the future (including another potential run). Unfortunately for him, he’s facing some seriously unflattering press at the moment thanks to Marjorie Taylor Greene.

As The Independent reports, Biden was earlier falsely blamed for the opioid overdoses of brothers Kyler and Caleb Kiessling, sons of pro-life activist Rebecca Kiessling. Earlier this week, Greene claimed that the sitting president is responsible for the young men’s passing, though it was actually during the Trump administration when they lost their lives. “I’ve read she was very specific recently saying that a mom, a poor mother who lost two kids to fentanyl, that I killed her sons,” the politician said during an event in Baltimore on Wednesday (March 1).

“[Biden’s] Words are Being Mischaracterized,” White House Says

“Well, the interesting thing: that fentanyl they took came during the last administration,” he also told the crowd, letting out a chuckle. It was the laugh that seems to have upset Kiessling and many others, who feel as though President Biden is making light of the mother’s immense loss. Criticism has obviously been constantly pouring in across social media all week long. In response, press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre addressed the media, explaining POTUS’ view of the situation.

She began, “When it comes to this president, I believe the American people knows who he is. They have watched him go through grief. He expressed sympathy for her last night. And his heart goes out to any person, any person who has to go through that type of trauma, that type of hurt.” According to Jean-Pierre, Biden’s words are being “mischaracterized by someone who is regularly discredited for things that she says that are really conspiracy theories.”

Twitter Reacts to the Situation

The press secretary didn’t explicitly say that Joe Biden feels any remorse or guilt for laughing, though many on Twitter are vocally demanding that Kiessling receive one from him ASAP. “What’s funny about Americans dying from fentanyl, Joe? The families who have lost loved ones from fentanyl aren’t laughing,” Greene asked him after he corrected her accusations earlier this week.
