Tink & Ty Dolla $ign Get Vulnerable On Sensual New Song, “Let Down My Guard”

If any woman in the R&B genre is coming with consistency, it’s undeniably Tink. This New Music Friday (February 24), the Chicago native came through with her second project in less than a year. Titled Thanks 4 Nothing, the 14-track effort finds the vocalist handling 12 titles on her own, though she still requests help from two male contemporaries – Yung Bleu and Ty Dolla $ign.

The former, who’s preparing to release his follow-up to last year’s TANTRA, shows out on “Stingy,” which has quickly emerged as a fan favourite. For the former’s part, he joined Tink on track seven, “Let Down My Guard,” which boasts plenty of the pair’s usual sensual lyrics. While they obviously had the vocals on lock, production from Hitmaka, Cardiak, and WU10 is what really takes the song to the next level.

Ty Dolla $ign and Tink Join Forces on “Let Down My Guard”

The chorus finds our two singers asking important questions to their potential lovers. “If I took you shoppin’ on the first day, would you love me? / If I showed my scars and told you stories ’bout the gunplay,” the 40-year-old starts of the collaboration. Tink follows with, “If I let you f*ck on the first night, baby, would you judge me? / If I wasn’t always legit, used to scam and move them thirties.”

Prior to sharing her fourth project in four years, the 27-year-old teased fans with singles like “Toxic” and “Fake Love.” Thus far, “Save Your Soul,” “Trust Issues,” and “Someone On You” appear to be favourites amongst fans.

Stream Tink and Ty Dolla $ign’s “Let Down My Guard” on Spotify or Apple Music below. Afterward, listen to the R&B diva’s Thanks 4 Nothing album if you haven’t already here. Make sure to check back later today (February 26) for more release recommendations on our weekly playlist update.

Quotable Lyrics:

If I took you shoppin’ on the first day, would you love me?
If I showed my scars and told you stories ’bout the gunplay
If I let down my guard, would you give a thug your heart?
If I let down my guard, would you let us fall apart?

Tink Collabs With Yung Bleu & Ty Dolla $ign On “Thanks 4 Nothing” Album

It’s been a primarily rap-heavy weekend in terms of new albums, with Logic, Key Glock, and Yeat among those sharing new projects today (February 24). Thankfully for R&B lovers, Tink has come through with her second release in less than a year, this one called Thanks 4 Nothing. The 14-track release finds the vocalist mostly holding her own, though she did call in two industry favourites for help.

On the super sensual “Let Down My Guard,” the Illinois native and Ty Dolla $ign take turns trading bars. Elsewhere, TANTRA hitmaker Yung Bleu shows out on “Stingy” while preparing to drop an album of his own later this year. “Toxic” was the first Thanks 4 Nothing single Tink fed her fans. More recently, she teased her project with “Fake Love,” later following the single with a music video.

Tink Croons About “Fake Love” In Latest Visual

After working with him on 2022’s Pillow Talk and 2021’s Heat Of The Moment, the 27-year-old reunited with Hitmaka once again on her latest release. Throughout her lyrics, she chiefly navigates her past mistakes and the lessons learned from them in the aftermath of a toxic relationship.

Near the middle of the tracklist, we hear her rejoining the dating world and expressing fears of being hurt again on “Trust Issues.” By the time the final title, “New N*gga” rolls around, Tink makes it clear that she’s finally moved on with another man who won’t leave her crying due to infidelity.

Few artists have been coming with the same consistency as the “CAP” singer. Prior to her aforementioned albums, she shared Hopeless Romantic in 2020 and 2019 saw her unveil Voicemails. It’s still early in the year, so here’s hoping we hear more from Tink in the coming months.

The arrival of Chlöe Bailey’s debut solo album, In Pieces, is little more than a month away. As the R&B starlet prepares for the exciting release, she’s also generating buzz among fans with a string of singles. She previously reminded us of her incredible vocal talent on “Pray It Away,” and now, she’s got a controversial collaborative effort with Chris Brown for your consideration.

“How Does It Feel” made its debut on Friday (February 24), along with a tantalizing new visual that shows off the dance skills of both performers. Their voices ring out over production by Hitmaka and Cardiak, leaving many listeners pleased with Bailey’s album rollout so far. Of course, there are still those taking issue with the Atlanta native working with Brown, who has previously faced allegations of abusing women in various capacities.

Chlöe and Chris Brown’s “How Does It Feel” Choreography Steals The Show

Upon announcing the collaboration, both the “Do It” hitmaker and her Virginia-born friend faced considerable backlash online. They don’t appear to be letting the drama bother them, however, as they’ve been making a point to share encouraging messages with each other on social media. “You are a beautiful soul,” the father of three told Bailey earlier this week.

“TAKE OVER THE WORLD SHAWTY and DON’T LOOK BACK! YOU ARE A QUEEN! DON’T LET NOBODY TELL YOU NO DIFFERENT! You followed your dreams and now the universe is fulfilling that manifestation.” Upon seeing the sweet message, the 24-year-old wrote back, “Can’t wait for the world to hear the magic we created.”

Bailey’s In Pieces project is scheduled for release on the last day of March. At this time it remains unclear what other artists she might be working with, though fans are hoping to hear more upbeat bops like “Have Mercy,” “Surprise,” and “Treat Me” on the tracklist.

Flo Milli Does Her Thing On New “Nasty Dancer” Single

Summer is obviously still several months away, but Flo Milli is already dropping off bop after bop to keep our energy high. On her first release of 2023, the Alabama native previously tapped Lola Brooke and Maiya The Don to remix her “Conceited” track. Now, she’s showing out on her own with “Nasty Dancer,” an upbeat new title.

The catchy single comes in at just over two minutes and 15 seconds and finds the lyricist feeling as braggadocious as ever. “You bitches a joke and you hurt / Mad ’cause I’m really that bitch and your n*gga a flirt,” she raps to her haters before turning the topic to a vacation in Turks where her p*ssy is sure to make a man surf.

Elsewhere over the beat, Milli name-drops another popular female artist. “In love with the cat, give him Doja,” she cleverly spits. We haven’t seen the Planet Her hitmaker collaborate with the “Beef FloMix” artist quite yet, but fingers crossed that the bar leads to a potential studio session for the pair in the future.

Prior to dropping “Nasty Dancer,” the 23-year-old teased the single on social media. Antha Pantha’s New “B.W.A.” Single Brings All The Harlem Realness

Most of the buzz in the music industry this weekend is surrounding tonight’s 65th annual Grammy Awards. Some of the biggest names in hip-hop and R&B have been nominated for prestigious prizes, which is undeniably exciting. Of course, that doesn’t mean we can’t take time to celebrate the artists presently on the rise. Antha Pantha is one such name, and she’s making her HNHH debut today with her “B.W.A.” single.

The song landed on Friday (February 3) and showcases the Harlem native’s sheer grit and confidence in herself. The Frankie P-produced title is short for “Bitches With Attitude,” and through her bars, the lyricist proves that she’s exactly that.

“I ain’t from the West Coast, but I’m from the West Side / But I got me a n*gga on the East Side,” she tells listeners. “I don’t pre-record nothin’, man, I do my sh*t live / Play around with me and you gon’ get the B-side.”

Along with the must-hear single, Pantha also gave fans a Renell Medrano-directed visual. Throughout various clips, she and her friends sport vintage beehive hairstyles while they take care of business. Eventually, we even see them travel across town to confront a group of haters.

“I wrote this song because ‘women with attitudes’ is typically looked at as a bad thing,” Pantha explained in a press release. “I want the girls that hear this to embrace their feminine attitude unapologetically. Attitude should represent confidence and swag, not just a stank face.”

This new release follows the New Yorker’s collaboration with A$AP Ferg, her childhood friend, on the “Real Bitches” music video. The track was the female artist’s debut single, and not long after its arrival, the “Shabba” hitmaker tapped his pal to join him in Tokyo to celebrate New Year’s Eve.
