NBA YoungBoy Sentenced in Federal Gun Case

YoungBoy Never Broke Again

YoungBoy Never Broke Again

Rapper NBA YoungBoy, born Kentrell DeSean Gaulden, has officially received his prison sentence in a long-standing federal gun case. The 24-year-old chart-topping artist was sentenced to seven months behind bars, following his conviction on federal firearms charges stemming from a 2020 arrest in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

The charges originated when police discovered multiple firearms during a video shoot involving YoungBoy and his associates. At the time, Gaulden was already on probation for unrelated offenses, escalating the severity of the case. Prosecutors argued that the rapper, who has a history of legal troubles, posed a threat to public safety by possessing firearms illegally.

In a courtroom packed with supporters and critics alike, the judge handed down the sentence, emphasizing the importance of accountability while also acknowledging YoungBoy’s efforts to comply with legal proceedings in recent months. Gaulden has already served the majority of his sentence under house arrest, meaning he will not face additional jail time if he continues to meet probationary requirements.

Ahead of the sentencing, NBA YoungBoy addressed the court, expressing remorse for his actions and promising to focus on his career and family. “I’m ready to put this behind me and move forward,” he said. His legal team emphasized his progress, noting that he has remained productive while under house arrest, releasing multiple albums and collaborating with artists across the industry.

The news has drawn mixed reactions from the hip-hop community. Fans have taken to social media to celebrate the relatively lenient outcome, using hashtags like #FreeYB to show support. Fellow artists have also chimed in, with many applauding YoungBoy’s resilience amid his legal battles.

Critics, however, have raised concerns about the message sent by the case, arguing that celebrities often receive more lenient treatment than everyday citizens in similar situations.

With his legal troubles nearing an end, NBA YoungBoy is expected to shift his focus back to music. His next album, rumored to be titled The Return, is anticipated to drop in the coming months. His team has hinted at a major tour once his probationary period allows for travel, signaling a strong comeback for the Louisiana native.

This case marks yet another chapter in the tumultuous life of one of rap’s most polarizing figures. As NBA YoungBoy moves forward, fans and critics alike will be watching to see how he navigates his second chance.

NBA YoungBoy Is Granted Bond In Federal Weapons Trial

NBA YoungBoy Arrested on Drug and Firearm Charges

Even though last month things were looking kind of rough for Baton Rouge rapper NBA Youngboy after getting arrested in a prescription drug fraud scheme, but now it seems karma is working in his favor as Youngboy has been granted bond in his federal weapons case.

Today, the rapper appeared in court for the first time since his April arrest, where his bond was set at $100K. In images circulating online, he appears to be smiling as in front the judge, not being able to conceal his joy.

He waived his preliminary hearing, allowing the case to move forward and his arraignment has been scheduled for July 1. If he’s released in Utah, his home state of Louisiana wants him transported there to await his prescription drug trial.

YB was initially facing 63 charges including “patterns of unlawful activity, procuring or attempting to procure drugs, identity fraud, forgery, possession of controlled substances, and possession of a dangerous weapon.” Now, his list of charges has been reduced to 48. The charges include identity fraud, forgery and obtaining or attempting to obtain prescription drugs illegally,” according to WBRZ.

As for how Youngboy was allegedly caught, a probable cause affidavit from Cache County suggests that a suspicious pharmacist tipped off authorities. They claim to have received a call from someone who identified themselves as a doctor named Gwendolyn Cox. Gwendolyn, however, “sounded as though she was a much younger male from the Southern states.” The Cache County Sheriff’s Office, along with the FBI, Secret Service, and a SWAT team, then conducted a search warrant on YB’s Utah home. He was later taken into custody.

As the details surrounding the RICO case against Young Thug, Gunna and 28 YSL members continue to grow, recent reports have confirmed that Thugger has now been hit with federal charges; two illegal firearms charges and two drug possession charges to add to his laundry list of offenses that have kept him behind bars since Tuesday.

Rap ultra-star Young Thug, whose real name is Jeffery Williams, was one among 28 people who were ensnared by a 56-count indictment handed down by the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office for criminal activity going back as far as 2015 and as recent as 2020. The 88-page indictment filed on Sunday details 180 acts that support just the first of the 56 separate charges for 28 members of the alleged gang.

Williams was denied bond yesterday by a Fulton County Superior judge despite the assertive plea by Williams’ lawyer Brian Steel to grant him a bond based on the nature of his alleged, non-violent charges, but that effort was unsuccessful.

Now, Thug’s initial court hearing has been followed up with additional charges after federal investigators discover guns and drugs in the rapper’s Buckhead home, according to a report from Atlanta news affiliate WSB-TV.

Authorities contend that they have more than enough evidence to convict Williams, who they allege rented a Q50 Infiniti used in a 2015, ordered an attempted hit on YFN Lucci by two YSL members during his incarceration in Fulton County Jail and is even named as a co-conspirator alongside Birdman in the 2015 shooting of Lil Wayne’s tour bus in Atlanta.

Young Thug is now currently charged with is now charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a schedule III, IV, or V controlled substance with intent to distribute, possession of a sawed-off shotgun, sawed-off rifle, machine gun, dangerous weapon, or silencer, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and three counts of participating in criminal gang activity through the commission of a crime.

Thug’s Attorney Brian Steel said in a statement, “Jeffery Williams, who performs as “Young Thug,” vehemently denies the allegations lodged against him in the Fulton County (Georgia) Indictment of May 9, 2022. We look forward to the opportunity to defend this case in court. We filed a Motion for Bond and anticipate a hearing in the near future. We will fight this case ethically, legally and zealously. Mr. Williams will be cleared.”
