Brooklyn rapper Casanova, born Caswell Senior, is back in the news again this week awaiting sentencing for the ongoing Gorilla Stone Nation case.
Casanova is among the 18 individuals charged as members of the Untouchable Gorilla Stone gang in a comprehensive RICO case that emerged in December 2020.

The gang is accused of various crimes, including drug trafficking, violent assaults, and the murder of a 15-year-old boy in Upstate New York.

Initially, Casanova faced charges of racketeering conspiracy, conspiracy to knowingly and intentionally manufacture, distribute, or dispense, or possess with intent to manufacture, distribute, or dispense, a controlled substance (crack cocaine, cocaine, and marijuana), and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.

He initially pleaded not guilty, and the rapper asserted his innocence, arguing that his high-profile status and connections to specific individuals made him a target for the authorities.

In November of 2021, Cas was hit with another indictment that claimed Casanova and another Gorilla Stone member named Jarrett “Jayecee” Crisler shot a member of the Crips in front of the King of Diamonds strip club during a dispute over gang signs.

The rapper also admitted to being the shooter in a July 5, 2020, incident at a Florida party involving other gang members. During the altercation, Casanova fired at a rival over a gambling disagreement.

Additionally, the rapper acknowledged his involvement in a 2018 robbery in Manhattan that left a woman named Niya Rucker severely injured.

Rucker claimed that Gorilla Stone members attacked her, breaking her jaw, as she was restrained for recording the rapper during a meal.

Casanova also confessed to conspiring to traffic a minimum of 100 kilograms of marijuana and being a key figure in the Untouchable Gorilla Stone Nation.

He has now pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to conduct and participate in the affairs of a criminal enterprise through a pattern of racketeering activity and one count of conspiracy to distribute over 100 kilograms of marijuana.

His new sentencing date is now scheduled for June 27, 2023, at 3:30 p.m. Casanova faces up to 60 years in prison.

TLC Singer Chilli Addresses Boyfriend Mathew Lawrence’s Baby Talk

Screen Shot 2023 03 19 at 11.07.10 AM

Last week actor Mathew Lawrence raised eyebrows when he walked back claims that he was trying to have a baby with his girlfriend Chilli from TLC.

Apparently Matt wasn’t talking about having a baby with Chili specifically but was referring to a childhood pact he made with his older brother actor Joey Lawrence.

Matt told E! TV’s Adrienne Bailon and Justin Sylvester:

“It’s such an interesting story. Joe and I were commiserating about this plan that we had to have children together when we were growing up. And I missed the first go around and now he’s starting a new family and I was thinking, ‘Man, it’d be great if we could do it again, when I didn’t have the chance to raise a family together.’”

“So that’s what I meant by that. I didn’t mean to put any pressure on somebody I was dating or anything.”

Chilli responded on the “Ryan Cameron Uncensored” radio show Friday. The TLC member siply said “you never know” about whether she would want to have kids with the “Boy Meets World” actor.

“I would never say that [I’m done with families],” she added after bursting into a fit of nervous laughter.

The singer, 52, also made it clear that she wants to be married before starting a family. However, it sounds like that could be happening in the near future as well.

“I gotta be married for sure … and I’m not married, yet,” she said cheekily.

[WATCH Mack 10 On Ice Cube: ‘I Ain’t Seen Him Or Talked To Him In Damn Near 20 Years’

Screen Shot 2023 03 19 at 10.22.16 AM

Rapper Mack 10 recently had an interview with Bootleg Kev, and revealed that he has neither seen nor spoken to Ice Cube, in almost 20 years.

When asked whether there is a possibility for a future reunion, he said, “I f*** with who f***with me, you dig? That’s where I’m at with it. If you f*** with me, I f*** with you. But if it’s f*** me, it’s f*** you. I ain’t seen him or talked to him in damn near 20 years, so there it is.”

Kev then brought up the classic Westside Connection collaboration to which Mack said he chooses not to “rock with” anyone who picks issues with him.

“It ain’t never been me, you know, with the hold-up,” he added. “It ain’t never been my personality or who I am with the hold-up of us doing something. … But I f*** with who f*** with me; it is what it is.”

When asked if he listened to Cube’s new supergroup Mount Westmore featuring Snoop Dogg, E-40 and Too Short. His response was, “Not really,” Mack replied. “I mean, I’ve heard bits and pieces of it, but not really. Westside Connection was a movement; it was a little different.”

Westside Connection broke up around 2005 following the fallout between Ice Cube and Mack 10. The two have never openly spoken about the cause of their fallout. However, in a VladTV interview in 2020, Mack seemed to suggest that it had something with Cube’s brother-in-law “f***[ing] my money up.”

He said, “It was just an unfortunate situation as far as what came out of all that. It ain’t like that just happened. … I went to Cube about four or five times before the conflict jumped off and told him to correct the situation. That’s the part that everybody leaves out.” He clarified that he and Cube only verbally argued over the ordeal.

Screen Shot 2023 03 18 at 1.06.37 PM

According to a TikTok star Mufasa, if you hang out with Kanye—he just might not let you go home.

The TikTok sensation spoke with Daily Star and revealed that Kanye West flew him out to his infamous ranch.

The online star, who rose to fame with the “car dance” admitted that he “hung out with West a few times” and the hitmaker “didn’t want him to leave”

The TikTok star said: “Yeah, some celebs have reached out [to me]. One celebrity I got to hang out with was Kanye. He flew me out for a week to his ranch, we got to hang out and chat about many things.”

Mufasa continued: “He didn’t want me to leave but I had to fly out. It was my birthday weekend so I wanted to celebrate with my family and my team. We hung out a few times after that.”

The star – real name Jeff Obeng – then went on to explain what meeting the rap icon was like and how Kanye spends his day-to-day life.

Screen Shot 2023 03 18 at 12.55.31 PM

Obeng revealed: “We talked about everything but it wasn’t really what he said that put a battery in my back. It was more of what he was doing – one moment he would make clothes, then an hour later he made music and then he would have a board meeting all in the same space.”

“He made me realise I wasn’t working hard enough!”

When asked what Kanye himself was like, Mufasa simply said that “Kanye was Kanye” and praised his inspirational work ethic.

He gushed: “Kanye was very driven and it’s like you can’t tell him nothing. If he says he’s going to achieve something, he will get it done – one way or another.”

The viral star also admitted that he’s had “quite a handful of celebrities” reach out to him but in terms of music, he’s still waiting for the right collaboration to come about.

Obeng explained: “They ask me to do videos for them or with them all the time, but I’m trying to evolve from just doing skits. I’m doing different things now. I don’t want to be 80 years old dancing outside of a car!”

Mufasa’s new single “World Needs Love” is out now and the star hopes that his “good energy only” vibes will “bring the fun back into house music”.

[WATCH] 6ix9ine Dodges A Beer Can Tossed At Him At Baseball Game

game

On Friday, rapper 6ix9ine found himself dodging a beer can tossed at him while he taunted a crowd of fans at a ball game.
Reporter Aram Leighton shared a video on his Twitter of 6ix9ine at the World Baseball Classic quarterfinals match-up between Mexico and Puerto Rico at LoanDepot Park in Miami, Fla. In the clip, the controversial rapper is waving the Mexico flag at people behind him who are booing at him.

Soon after, a beer can flies right by him nearly hitting him in his head. Some say you can see the man who allegedly threw the can in the video.

According to Leighton, Puerto Rico fans weren’t feeling the Brooklyn rapper, taunting them with the Mexican flag at the game.

“6ix9ine is in the building and waving a Mexico flag. A Puerto Rico fan wasn’t having it and threw a beer can right by his head,” he tweeted.

What you also don’t see in the video is 6ix9ine reportedly being relocated to another area to avoid any more confrontation with fans.

Despite 6ix9ine’s disruption, Mexico defeated Puerto Rico 5-4 to reach the semifinals for the first time ever.
Do you think he will ever get to go out in public without any incident?

[WATCH] New Series Documents Over 90 Murders In Hip Hop

pop

Hulu has released a series, Tone Death: Loss & Hip-Hop recanting the recent slew of murders in hip hop.
I remember the pain I felt when my mom woke me up to tell me Biggie Smalls had passed away. I was 17-years old and felt like my world came crashing down. Hip hop raised me. I deemed the Notorious B.I.G. the greatest by my standards. He was capable of steering the hip hop community with his flow, style and presence. I rode the train for hours that day with Gimme The Loot and Everyday Struggle blasting through my headphones. This monumental tragedy in hip hop forever changed how I judged hip hop, and I was never the same again.
Fast forward to today and not much has changed. It seems like rappers are still being murdered at a rapid rate.

In the new Hulu series, the mothers of slain rappers and rapper G Herbo talk about grief, trauma and why gun violence deaths are so prevalent in the rap community.

Since Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G.’s death, more than 90 rappers have been murdered. Rapper Pop Smoke’s mother revealed she’s never been angry at the teens who took her son’s life.

“I was never angry at the 14-year old or the 17 and 16-year old , I was never angry at them….I don’t hate them. I can’t hate that little boy. Because his mom didn’t raise him to go kill Pop Smoke. She was probably a mother having issues trying to raise a 14 year old boy.”

San Francisco City Officials Consider $5M Per Black Person Reparations Proposal

Screen Shot 2023 03 16 at 10.54.03 AM

According to several confirmed reports, the San Francisco Board of Supervisors have been sifting through over 100 recommendations for slavery reparations for its Black residents. Some of the suggestions include the elimination of personal debt and tax burdens, guaranteed annual incomes of at least $97,000 for 250 years, homes in San Francisco for just $1 a family and even $5 million per eligible Black person.

On Tuesday, the Board accepted these suggestions from the reparations committee, however, the board received a slew of criticism from “liberal” San Franciscans that didn’t know about the traumatic impact of slavery in the U.S. as well as the new perceived form of slavery, mass incarceration.

“Those of my constituents who lost their minds about this proposal, it’s not something we’re doing or we would do for other people. It’s something we would do for our future, for everybody’s collective future,” said Supervisor Rafael Mandelman.

A final report is due from the committee by June.

Walgreens Decides To Stop Selling Abortion Pill Amid Abortion Pill Lawsuit

Screen Shot 2023 03 16 at 10.40.15 AM

A federal judge in Amarillo, Texas, heard arguments in a court case that could force the FDA to revoke its approval of mifepristone, which is used as one part of a two-pill regimen for medication abortions.

On Wednesday the judge questioned lawyers for President Joe Biden’s administration on whether the federal regulatory approval given to the abortion pill mifepristone 22 years ago was proper as he considered a request by anti-abortion groups to ban sales of the drug nationwide.

U.S. District Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk during a hearing in Amarillo also pressed the groups, led by the Texas-based Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine, to explain how he could reverse approval of a long-established drug.
The judge raised the possibility of a more limited ruling, keeping the drug on the market but re-imposing some restrictions lifted by Biden’s administration, including requiring it to be dispensed in person rather than by mail.

Walgreens CEO made the decision to stop selling mifepristone – an FDA-approved medication used for abortion and treating miscarriages. It’s an outrageous decision based entirely on pressure from anti-choice politicians – not science.

Arguably the most consequential abortion case since the U.S. Supreme Court, powered by its conservative majority, last year overturned its landmark 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling that had recognized a constitutional right to terminate a pregnancy.

Medication abortion is the most common abortion method in our country. It’s safe. It’s effective. And it’s been widely used for the past 20 years.

And yet, Walgreens made the decision to not sell mifepristone, which will affect access to reproductive care across the country. The plaintiffs are asking Kacsmaryk for a preliminary order halting sales of mifepristone nationwide – even in states where abortion is legal – while their lawsuit proceeds.
Twelve of the 50 states now ban abortion outright while many others prohibit it after a certain length of pregnancy, according to the Guttmacher Institute, a research organization that supports abortion rights. A ruling against the FDA would hinder abortion access in every state as medication abortion – with mifepristone part of a two-pill regimen – accounts for more than half of U.S. abortions.

Mifepristone is available under the brand name Mifeprex and as a generic. Used in conjunction with another drug called misoprostol, it is approved to terminate a pregnancy within the first 10 weeks of a pregnancy. The FDA in January said that the government for the first time will allow mifepristone to be dispensed at retail pharmacies.

Major medical organizations, including the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, have weighed in on the side of the FDA, saying mifepristone “has been thoroughly studied and is conclusively safe.”

Abortion rights supporters, contending that the lawsuit is a baseless attempt to slash abortion access, protested outside the courthouse on Wednesday morning. One dressed as a kangaroo and carried a gavel, suggesting that the hearing was a “kangaroo court.”

Kanye West Dodges Battery Charge For Throwing Woman’s Phone

kanye west yeezy x streetwear

After being under investigation for an alleged battery when a video surfaced of music and fashion mogul Kanye West grabbing a woman’s cell phone, it is now being reported that he will not face charges from that incident.

The Ventura County Sheriff’s Department was investigating West when the video showed him tossing her phone into the street after he approached her about filming him as he was leaving his daughter North’s basketball game.

In the video, Kanye can be heard saying, “Y’all ain’t gonna run up on me like that. If I say stop”…”stop with your cameras.”

Known for his numerous run-ins with paparazzi that sometimes turn physical for Ye, this incident is just another win for Kanye’s fight for privacy as a celebrity. Last year, he avoided another battery charge after he was accused of punching a photographer, leaving him on the ground unconscious. Yeezy even joked about the confrontation on Jimmy Kimmel, saying, “that covid mask couldn’t stop that right hook.”
