On this date in 1985, Hip-Hop bigwig Russell Simmons along with film producer Michael Schultz unveiled the Hip-Hop glory days fairy tale about the early days of Def Jam in the Warner Brothers distributed Krush Groove.

This cinematic, quasi-musical was told in a very unique manner, with almost all of the artists playing themselves as the story is being told; The Fat Boys, Run-D.M.C., Kurtis Blow, Jeckyl and Hyde, the Beastie Boys and Sheila E. all starred as themselves, while being managed by Russell(ironically, played by Blair Underwood) and a young Rick Rubin before they became the icons that they are recognized as today. The flick even gives a quick peek into how Def Jam’s rookie and first solo artist L.L. Cool J was recruited in Def Jam’s NYU dorm “office”.

The movie’s soundtrack boasts more than a few hits, such as The Fat Boys’ “All You Can Eat”. LL’s “I Can’t Live Without My Radio”, the original “If I Ruled The World” by Kurtis Blow, which was famously remixed by Nas and Lauryn Hill a decade after the movie’s release and the title track by The Krush Groove All Stars.

Shout out to all of the legends who were quarterbacked by Hip-Hop’s Barack Russell Simmons in making this Def Jam biopic forever a Hip Hop classic!

Big Meech

Detroit’s premier gentlemen’s club, Dream Girls, has invited hip-hop mogul Big Meech to celebrate his recent release from prison with a “Straight Outta Custody” party.

The club is offering the former music label executive $10,000 for the event, which promises to feature dozens of entertainers and magnum bottles of champagne. The offer, submitted on October 23rd, gives Big Meech two weeks to respond.

“Big Meech is a Detroit native and a pioneer in the hip-hop industry so it’s only right that he celebrates his liberation after incarceration at the hottest nightspot in the D,” said Bo Wilhelm, General Manager at Dream Girls Detroit. “If he accepts our offer, we will pull out all the stops including a VIP section adorned with our hottest topless entertainers and a custom Ace of Spades bottle parade.”

Big Meech is out of federal prison and serving the rest of his sentence at a halfway house. He is now a resident of the Miami Residential Reentry Management Office. In a new picture, Meech poses next to an unidentified man dressed in all Black.

According to TMZ, Big Meech has been removed from FCI Coleman Low in Wildwood and moved to BOP’s Miami Residential Reentry Management Office. He will complete his 30-year sentence in a halfway house.

Earlier this year, Meech’s sentence was reduced by nearly three years. He was initially sentenced in 2008.

Johnny Manziel Wants Drake On his New Podcast But Don’t Expect Questions About You Know Who

Screen Shot 2024 10 24 at 3.09.38 PM

Johnny Manziel is aiming to take his new podcast to the same level of his glory days. The show, which premieres on Thursday in partnership with Almost Friday Media is already actively working to line up star studded guests.

Now one guest that stands out as his top choice: hip-hop icon Aubrey “Drake” Graham. In an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital, Manziel shared his excitement about the possibility of having Drake on the podcast.

“I’ve been friends with Drake for a long time, so it would be really cool to sit down and have him on and talk about some of our relationships and some of his life a little bit, so I think that would probably be a dream guest,” Manziel revealed.

But don’t expect any questions about the Boogey Man, Kendrick Lamar and that whole beef stuff.

“I would stay away from it altogether, it’s such a small point,” Manziel explained. “It’s something people have made a big deal out of, but in the grand scheme of things, it’s such a small blip on his life and his career and what he’s done. So I probably wouldn’t [mention it].”

However, Manziel admitted he’s kept tabs on the feud this year. “It was kind of a viral thing that went on for a couple of months, so you know, I definitely was following it a little bit,” he said.

Wonder if Drake is going to pull up and pop out on Manziel. Time will tell.

T.I., the self-proclaimed “King of the South” for well over a decade, says that he first asked the OGs, including Scarface, Outkast, and Bun B, to give him permission to run with the title.

In an exclusive interview with AllHipHop, Tip reflected o nthe reactions he received from the aforementioned emcees, saying that if they rejected his new moniker, he would’ve never used it.

“The first time I called myself the ‘King of the South,’ I went and asked everybody that I had access to for their blessings,” he said. “I asked Big Boi from OutKast, I asked [André] 3000, Cee-Lo, Khujo, T-Mo and [Big] Gipp [of Goodie Mobb], 8 Ball, MJG, Bun B and Scarface. So I asked all of them how they felt about it, what they thought about it and all of them for the most part gave me their blessings.”

“I remember Scarface said, ‘Hell yeah go ahead. I don’t wanna be king! You could have that shit.’ Then I asked 3000 and he hit me with, ‘What does it really mean to be king?’ And Big Boi said, ‘Aight now, be careful what you ask for because you known as the king, they gon’ put the target on your back. Ain’t nobody going to be trying to help you out with nothing. So just be careful what you ask for.’

T.I. is ready to put an end to his regal nickname with his 12th and final album, Kill The King

SOURCE SPORTS: Vince And Linda McMahon Named In WWE “Ring Boys” Lawsuit

Legendary professional wrestling exec Vince McMahon is being sued for ignoring claims of sexual abuse made by former employees called the “Ring Boys”.

According to TMZ, the lawsuit was filed in Baltimore County with Vince’s wife, Linda McMahon, WWE and its ownership, TKO Group, also named in the suit. Melvin Phillips Jr., a former ring crew chief and ringside announcer, said that he hired underaged boys to assist the crew with errands and tasks for wrestling shows.

The suit claims that some of the boys were as young as 12 to 13 years old, with Phillips hiring them after promising access to popular WWE events. but the real purpose was “to sexually abuse them.” According to the suit, the children hired came from broken homes, while these abusive occurrences happened in wrestling venues, hotel rooms and “in plain sight.”

Phillips passed away back in 2012.

Phillips is not being accused of any abuse, but the suit states McMahon and the defendants knowingly allowed Phillips to use his position within the company to “groom and abuse Ring Boys”, which sometimes occurred in front of wrestlers and other company execs.

“Thanks to the bravery of our clients, we finally have a chance to hold accountable those who allowed and enabled the open, rampant sexual abuse of these young boys,” Greg Gutzler, a partner at the DiCello Levitt Law Firm, said in a press release.

The firm says the FBI identified at least 10 individuals assaulted by Phillips, but believes there are more out there who have remained silent.

“That so many were aware of the sexual abuse of the ring boys and did nothing to prevent or stop it is simply unconscionable.”

McMahon resigned from WWE in January 2024 following allegations made by former employee Janel Grant, who accused him and former exec. John Laurinaitis of sexual misconduct.

On this date in 1995, Queens legends Onyx released their second full-length album All We Got Iz Us under Rush Associated Labels and the JMJ Records imprint.

It is reported that Def Jam Records’ Lyor Cohen offered Fredro Starr $1 million in 1994 to record Onyx’s second album while he was on the set of the movie Dangerous Minds. Fredro agreed, prompting him, Sonee Seeza and Sticky FIngaz to record 25 tracks for the new album, with only 15 of the songs making the final cut under the late Jam Master Jay’s directive. Two of the albums’ tracks, “Live Niguz” and “Last Dayz”, made it to 89 on the Billboard Hot 100 and 17 on the Hot Rap Singles, respectively. Onyx also created their own label, Armee Records, to which they signed the rap collective All City and Queens rapper Panama P.I., who also appeared on All We Got Iz Us.

This project received mixed reviews from the media. Still, it reached its level of success with tracks debuting in several silver screen classics, including Martin Lawrence and Will Smith’s Bad Boys as well as Eminem’s 8 Mile and Hip Hop documentary The Show.

Salute to Sticky Fingaz, Sonee Seeza, Fredro, All City, and JMJ for making this album a part of Hip Hop history!

Trump Accused of Groping Model He Met While Hanging with Jeffrey Epstein

Trump Questions VP Kamala Harris Race at NABJ Conference: 'She Happened to Turn Black'

A model claims she was introduced to former President Donald Trump by Jeffrey Epstein, leading to her being groped.

In an interview with The Guardian and on a Zoom Call organized by the group Survivors for Kamala, model Stacey Williams details how she met Trump at Trump Tower in 1993. She states she was casually dating Epstein beginning in 1992, when she first met Trump, who she claims was a good friend of Epstein.

In the ’93 incident, the woman claims Trump put his hands “all over my breasts” and touched her waist and butt during the initial greeting. Williams stated she was “deeply confused” by the moment but saw both men smiling at each other.

But outside, it was a different story. Williams was confronted by an angry Epstein, who asked, “Why did you let him do that?”

In response to Variety, Trump’s press secretary Karoline Leavitt denied the allegations: These accusations, made by a former activist for Barack Obama and announced on a Harris campaign call two weeks before the election, are unequivocally false. It’s obvious this fake story was contrived by the Harris campaign.”

This isn’t Epstein’s first connection to Trump. Recently, he flew on Epstein’s private jet while his own was being serviced.

Additionally, Plies recently went in on mainstream media on “X” (formerly Twitter) for seemingly downplaying former President Trump’s weird connections to the late Jeffrey Epstein, a controversial billionaire accused of severe crimes who later committed suicide while in federal custody.

The “Bust it Baby” rapper believes that media coverage of the 2024 presidential election, particularly regarding current President Joe Biden, is intentionally skewed. Like skewed to focus on Biden’s age rather than Trump’s unfitness for office again while being connected to Epstein. What the actual “F.” He has a point, right?

“So Trump in the Epstein files is why mainstream media don’t wanna let go of the Biden story!” Plies wrote on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, July 9. “The longer they keep that front & center in the news, the more they can stay away from the Trump/Epstein story, hoping to bury it!”

Screen Shot 2024 07 10 at 3.35.27 PM

Get this: on July 10, Plies shared what he feels is evidence of Trump and Epstein’s acquaintance, posting a clip from a documentary that highlighted their relationship.

What’s downright disgusting is this alleged connection is particularly controversial given Epstein’s accusations of sexually abusing over 36 women, some as young as 14. Epstein was arrested for sex trafficking in July 2019 and reportedly committed suicide in his jail cell a month later. Full stop. This is wild and now that we think about it, why isn’t the mainstream media focusing on this?

“Wait, so it’s a whole documentary about Trump & Epstein?” Plies questioned. “What was Trump calling Epstein for at 3 a.m.? Man, mainstream media has failed the American people badly! This is extremely embarrassing.”

Keeping that same energy, earlier this year, Plies criticized Trump for some ridiculous claim 45 made that Black people supported him because they could relate to being discriminated against. Some who agree with Trump need to hear this through a megaphone. Plies intelligently called out these supporters for ignoring Trump’s casual racism.

“I’m not even gonna lie, I’m starting to like the casual racism he gives you,” Plies posted on Instagram. “Keep treating them like ‘Tim Scott,’ Trump! They’ll jump even higher for you!”

He didn’t stop there. In another video, Plies shared footage of Trump referring to his Black voters as “Black ones” and made a bold prediction: “Before the election, he gonna flat out call them a ‘n***a’… I guarantee it, and his numbers gonna go through the roof! This is why he’s loved by his base. ‘Cause he says the quiet part out loud! Keep proving who America really is!”

With all these talking heads supposedly of the culture backing Trump, it seems Plies will keep up common sense talking points to expose what he feels is a man who should be nowhere near the Oval Office ever again.
