Fani Willis Explains Why She Has No Regrets About The YSL RICO Trial

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, who brought about the massive YSL RICO trial involving Young Thug, says she has no regrets about the case. It ended earlier this month, with not-guilty verdicts for Yak Gotti. Young Thug also took a plea deal back in October that immediately saw his release from jail.

“There were lives lost and their lives that matter, and as long as I’m the DA, no matter your socioeconomic status, or your race, your life is going to have value if you’re harmed in this community,” Willis said to WSBTV. As for whether she has any regrets, Willis added: “Obviously when you try a case, you go back and you look at things and you always have a Monday morning quarterbacking analysis.”

Opening statements are set to begin in the case against 31-year-old US rapper Young Thug and 28 others, who are facing a racketeering indictment accusing the defendants of a number of offenses that support an overarching conspiracy charge, including murder, assault, carjacking, drug dealing, and theft. Willis also confirmed that she intends to pursue cases against the five remaining YSL defendants. “I’m not going to get into the details of that case. As you know, I have five defendants pending,” Willis said. “I think it gets lost on people that many people took responsibility for their parts in that case.”

Fani Willis Reflects On The YSL RICO Case

Willis isn’t the only one to be making headlines this week for reflecting on the YSL RICO case. Lil Woody also sat down with VladTV for an interview in which he discussed learning Young Thug took a plea deal, his role as a witness on the stand, and more. Fulton County DA Fani Willis Plans To Prosecute Five More YSL Defendants After RICO Loss

Georgia’s Fulton County’s District Attorney Fani Willis is quite the controversial figure these days for her involvement in a Donald Trump case and her leadership in the YSL RICO trial. Moreover, while most would characterize the latter as a loss for the State, she told WSB-TV Atlanta Channel 2‘s Mark Winne during a recent interview that she has no regrets about moving forward with that proceeding. If Willis could do it all over again, she said, she would. According to her, it’s part of the reason why citizens elected her and part of the job that her constituents want her to carry out, so she’ll swing and miss as much as she has to.

“There were lives lost and they’re lives that matter,” Fani Willis said of the YSL RICO case. “And as long as I’m the DA, no matter your socioeconomic status, or your race, your life is going to have value if you’re harmed in this community. […] Obviously when you try a case, you go back and you look at things and you always have a Monday morning quarterbacking analysis.”

In addition, Fani Willis revealed that she plans to go after five other remaining YSL defendants, although it’s unclear who these defendants are. “I’m not going to get into the details of that case,” she remarked. “As you know, I have five defendants pending. […] I think [people forget] that many people took responsibility for their parts in that case.” Meanwhile, here’s what Fulton County Gang Prosecution Chief Chris Sperry had to say. “We’ve been prosecuting YSL gang members since before the YSL RICO and were going to continue to prosecute YSL gang members after the RICO,” he relayed.

However, one of the YSL RICO trial’s defendants launched a class action lawsuit against Fulton County Jail administrators, so this could be a more complicated effort in the public eye. Surely the near future will hold some more updates and clarifications on this move, which will come with its own issues. But for now, it seems like the State wants its get-back and still has more alleged crimes to prosecute.

Fani Willis Wins Reelection Despite Brutal Night For Democrats

Fani Willis, the Georgia prosecutor known for bringing charges against former President Donald Trump over his alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election as well as spearheading the case against Young Thug and his YSL associates, has won her bid for reelection in Fulton County as the District Attorney. In doing so, she defeated Republican challenger Courtney Kramer. Fulton County, which is home to much of Atlanta, has been a Democratic stronghold in the state of Georgia.

Despite the victory for Willis, it was a rough night overall for the Democratic party. Donald Trump declared victory by 2:30 AM, EST after the Associated Press called that he clinched at least 277 electoral college votes, passing the threshold for victory. During that speech, he promised to usher in a “golden age of America,” while labeling his campaign the “greatest political movement of all time.”

Additionally, the Associated Press reports that Republicans have won control of the U.S. Senate, helping Trump secure confirmation of his Cabinet picks as well as choices for Supreme Court justices if any vacancies arise. The House of Representatives, on the other hand, remains up for grabs, and those results could take days to be fully determined.

Kamala Harris decided not to speak about the results on Tuesday night, but she’s expected to concede at some point on Wednesday. Be on the lookout for further updates on Fani Willis, Donald Trump, and the 2024 election on HotNewHipHop.

Young Thug Trial: Republican D.A. Candidate Promises To Free Rapper If Elected

Young Thug has been behind bars for over two years now on RICO charges. Unfortunately, the hitmaker’s legal battle doesn’t show any signs of coming to an end. His trial began in November of last year and is still underway. Of course, this has left all involved feeling as jaded as ever. It’s become the longest trial in Georgia’s state history, and today, the rapper spent his 33rd birthday in prison.

Now, however, republican Fulton County DA candidate Courtney Kramer is promising to dismiss the case if elected. In a letter shared on X today, the former Donald Trump intern expresses outrage over the long-winded legal battle, claiming that ending it will be the first step she takes to “restore justice, transparency, and integrity” to the Office of the District Attorney.

Courtney Kramer Challenges Fani Willis To Dismiss YSL RICO Case And Free Young Thug

“If I am elected as the next District Attorney of Fulton County, I promise to end this prosecution immediately,” the letter reads in part. “I challenge my opponent [Fani Willis] to do the same thing, the right thing, and end this prosecution and release the accused in this case who are being held without bond.” While there are certainly no guarantees here for Young Thug, it’s the first glimmer of hope his fans have seen in a while. The DA election is in November, and Willis has yet to respond to Kramer’s latest challenge.

Kramer’s letter arrived shortly after Trump appeared on Adin Ross’ stream, claiming that Young Thug is being treated unfairly by Willis in his case. “I heard it from other people that he’s being treated unfairly. So, he’s got to be treated fairly,” he told the internet personality. What do you think of Fulton County DA candidate Courtney Kramer promising to end the YSL RICO trial? Donald Trump Accuses Fani Willis Of Treating Young Thug Unfairly

Donald Trump discussed Young Thug and the ongoing YSL RICO trial in Atlanta while speaking with Adin Ross for a livestream on Monday afternoon. In doing so, he accused District Attorney Fani Willis of treating the rapper unfairly and described him as a “patriot.” Willis famously investigated Trump’s alleged attempts to overturn the 2020 presidential election results in Georgia.

After Ross brought up Young Thug and claimed he’s being treated unfairly, Trump agreed: “I heard that actually,” he said. “So, I’ve heard about him and I’ve heard he’s being treated very unfairly by her [Willis] and I would tell her she’s gotta treat these patriots that are being all– it’s terrible. They’re going after them.” He concluded: “He’s gotta be treated fairly.” The moment has been going viral on social media.

Elsewhere in the interview, Trump accused the Democratic Party of staging a coup against Joe Biden. “He was not only pushed out, it was a coup,” Trump said. “I don’t know if I was brilliant or he was horrible, maybe a combination of both … he’s done tremendous damage to our country. I actually think he’s smarter than her [Kamala Harris], and I think he’s a really not smart person. She was convenient, she was there. They have much better people. All the people were better than her. They would’ve run, but they didn’t want to go through the roadblock that was her.”

Donald Trump Speaks On Young Thug’s Ongoing Trial

Describing Harris, Trump continued: “She’s ultra left, ultra radical. I just see where 99 vicious terrorists … her policies have destroyed California. San Francisco was the best city in the country and now, frankly, it’s not even livable.” Be on the lookout for further updates on Young Thug, Donald Trump, and the 2024 Presidential Election on HotNewHipHop.

YFN Lucci Receives Co-Sign From Fani Willis As He Continues To Push For Early Release

A few months ago, YFN Lucci was hit with a 20-year sentence after pleading guilty to violating the Street Gang and Terrorism Prevention Act. Overall, the sentence was split in two, with 10 years of prison and another 10 years of probation. However, over the past few months, Lucci has been looking to have his sentence reduced. His lawyers have been hard at work, and there have seemingly been some inroads made to get him home sooner rather than later.

For instance, District Attorney Fani Willis has come through with a letter of support for Lucci. Given her role in the YSL Trial, this is certainly going to ruffle some feathers. However, the fact remains that Willis is supportive of Lucci getting home early. “The state does not object to the defendant, Rayshawn Bennett being released,” Willis wrote. However, she did stipulate that she would only be okay with his release if it meant that he continued to showcase good behavior.

Over on The Shade Room, some took issue with the favoritism, noting that she is going after Thug but is advocating for Lucci. Others noted that celebrities get preferential treatment, but the average person would never get this kind of co-sign. Overall, it is certainly a complicated issue that can be quite polarizing for a variety of reasons. Only time will tell whether or not Lucci gets his sentence commuted. For now, his chances seem to be getting better.

Marlon Wayans Hilariously Questions Nathan Wade Over Fani Willis Affair

Marlon Wayans sat down for an interview with Nathan Wade for a new episode of The Daily Show and his segment, “Choppin’ It Up With ‘Quon.” In doing so, he immediately brought up the romantic relationship he had with Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis. That relationship led to Wade resigning from the case against former President Donald Trump and his alleged interference with Georgia’s 2020 election. Trump’s team is still trying to get Willis taken off the case.

Wade began by explaining that he doesn’t label the romance “an affair,” and described Willis as a “respectable mother,” and a “brilliant legal mind.” After Wade clarified that Willis isn’t his boss, Wayans joked that the prosecutor wasn’t “He Too’d.” When Wayans asked Wade about having his “dick potentially end democracy,” he bursted into laughter.

Donald Trump Election Trial In Georgia Put On Hold Over Fani Willis Probe

Donald Trump may have caught a conviction recently, but another of his trials for alleged criminal misconduct and behavior saw a small W for him. Moreover, the Georgia Court of Appeals indefinitely postponed his state election interference trial on the local level through a Wednesday (June 5) court order, CNN reports. This is due to a judicial panel’s need to decide whether to disqualify Fulton County’s District Attorney Fani Willis from the case. Willis had a romantic relationship with Nathan Wade, the special prosecutor she hired for it, something that Trump and his alleged racketeering codefendants have attempted to discredit her over.

Furthermore, this is Donald Trump’s latest legal victory, and one that further ensures he won’t have to deal with some of his legal battles during his campaign for U.S. president for 2024 if he can’t beat them outright at the moment. The judicial panel is expected to issue a verdict on Fani Willis by March of next year, although it could be sooner since sources reportedly close to the case supposedly told CNN that the overall timeline is still pretty unclear. As such, a trial will most likely not take place before the election this November. A spokesperson for Willis’ office declined comment on the court order at this time, but the District Attorney can request a speedier decision.

Fulton County’s Superior Judge, Scott McAfee, previously let court proceedings continue as the court of appeals deliberated on Fani Willis’ participation. Donald Trump and his codefendants put a lot of pressure to get the prosecution on the defensive side and change discussion from their alleged crimes to Willis’ misconduct. Still, McAfee found no evidence that the D.A. financially benefitted from her relationship with Nathan Wade, and thus allowed her to remain after Wade stepped down as a qualifier.

“The Georgia Court of Appeals has properly stayed all proceedings against President Trump in the trial court pending its decision on our interlocutory appeal which argues the case should be dismissed and Fulton County DA Willis should be disqualified for her misconduct,” Trump’s led defense counsel in Georgia, Steve Sadow, said of the court order. “No, it’s a rigged system and it’s a terrible system actually,” the former president told reporters of the courts and whether he’d lost faith in his legal team on Wednesday following his guilty verdict. His Florida case about classified documents is in a similar limbo, with the federal judge allowing him to question his prosecutors and attempt to discredit the case.

Donald Trump Jr & Akademiks Discuss Fulton County DA Fani Willis “Lying To The Court”

DJ Akademiks isn’t necessarily the most reputable blogger in the hip-hop space, but he certainly knows how to get people talking. Rather than tapping another rapper or industry executive to stream with him, the podcaster recently sat down with nepo baby and politician Donald Trump Jr to discuss many topics. With everything unfolding with Diddy in the news lately, the duo spoke about the Bad Boy leader’s connection with the late Kim Porter. According to Junior, the model was fearful of the man she shared children with. Elsewhere, Ak and his guest compared the raids on Sean Combs’ homes to what Trump experienced on his property.

As the conversation turned more political, Akademiks asked the former POTUS’ son for his thoughts on Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis. “The DA, Fani Willis, she’s actually prosecuting a bunch of people that are hip-hop artists. There’s a whole ongoing conversation [about whether] she’s fairly targeting these guys because they committed crimes, or maybe because their lyrics are violent? You’re arresting these guys and holding them for years,” the host explained to Trump Jr.

Both men then began ranting about Willis being a liar after her romantic relationship with a colleague was exposed. “She lied to the court, her boyfriend lied to the court,” Ak’s guest declared. “A guy that had never tried anything criminally was brought in, paid almost three-quarters of a million dollars. They go on lavish vacations together… He’s a civil lawyer, it’s a DA’s office. They have dozens of criminal prosecutors there,” he reflected, unimpressed with the Georgia native’s shady behaviour. “This is a not-so-humble public servant.’

With the upcoming election, we’ve been seeing a lot more of Donald Trump and his family lately.
