Conway The Machine, Method Man, SK Da King, & Flee Lord Bring Straight Lyricism On “Meth Back!”

Conway the Machine assembled the Avengers for his brand-new album Slant Face Killah (SFK). His fourth studio album, and follow-up to WON’T HE DO IT, was rumored to be the side B of the latter. However, the prolific Buffalo-bred rapper decided to come through with a separate entity and it has been one of the stronger releases of the year. One cut that Conway the Machine provided on this LP that we have been spinning again and again is “Meth Back!”

This one of many tracks that boasts some incredible guest talent. Based on the title, you might have been able to guess that Wu-Tang legend Method Man was a feature. That assumption would be correct, but he is not the only G.O.A.T. joining Conway. Underground vets Flee Lord and SK Da King pop up for one the nastiest old school hip-hop tracks of 2024.

Listen To “Meth Back!” By Conway The Machine, Method Man, SK Da King, & Flee Lord

Instrumental alone, this track is incredible. Daringer, fellow Buffalo resident and in-house producer for Griselda, lays down a simple but effective beat. The ghostly woodwind loop on top of the dirty drums is a lethal combination. Then, we you add in everyone’s terrific pen game and intimidating cadence, it is a recipe for straight gas. It is hard to pick who had the best outing, but Meth’s might take the cake for us.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new song “Meth Back!” by Conway the Machine, Method Man, SK Da King, and Flee Lord? Where does this track rank amongst the rest on Slant Face Killah (SFK)? Quotable Lyrics:

My block sell dope, I’m a product of my environment
The work I’m supplyin’ y’all just workers providin’ ’em
Drumwork for headshots like early retirement
I earn my title through lack of early entitlement
‘Til I was titled rich, I ain’t even know what entitled meant
That’s wordplay, find my best words on my worst day

Evilgiane & Slimesito’s Chemistry Is Through The Roof On “EVILSLIME”

East coast hip-hop is extremely good hands right now and will be even later on all because of artists like evilgiane and Slimesito. The New York producer and Maryland rapper might not be on the same label, but the synergy on tracks is among some of the best in the industry. Both also do not have the most experience, but they are well beyond their years. SURF GANG and Rich Slime Global have come together for several tracks, with “DESIGNER DRUGZ” being the most recent offering. That track turned out to be the lead single for EVILSLIME, the new collaborative EP between evilgiane and Slimesito.

For “The Hillbillies” producer, this is his sixth project and second of 2024. It follows up #HEAVENSAGATE VOL. 1 which had a feature from Slimesito on “LIL WAYNE.” As for the “Mafia Business” MC, this marks his first project of the year so far. It supersedes October 2023’s Zombieland which featured 16 tracks.

Listen To EVILSLIME By Evilgiane & Slimesito

On EVILSLIME the production is very trap centric, 808 heavy, and some unconventional instrumentals pop in throughout the 11-song set. The tone is dark and it is the perfect backdrop for Slimesito’s monotone and mumbly delivery. In some way, it has a similar vibe to Metro Boomin and 21 Savage’s 2016 tape Savage Mode. Fairly simple eerie atmospheres with straightforward bars about the typical trap fare. Fans of these two should enjoy this one all the way through, as there are no true skips in our opinion.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new EP EVILSLIME by evilgiane and Slimesito? Do you need more collaborative records from them in the future, why or why not? Which track is the best out the bunch? Which instrumental was the strongest? Who had the best feature? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Rappers Like Biggie Smalls: Jay-Z, Jadakiss, Rick Ross, The Game And More

The world of hip-hop was forever changed by the iconic figure of Christopher Wallace, more famously known as The Notorious B.I.G or Biggie Smalls. His profound impact on the genre, and his untimely death, left a void that countless artists have strived to fill. This article examines artists who, while distinct in their own right, bear a resemblance to Biggie Smalls in their style, flow, or thematic content.

Jay-Z

Jay-Z, a fellow Brooklyn native, is arguably one of the most successful artists to follow in Biggie’s footsteps. He carries the torch of Biggie’s legacy, with a similar East Coast sound and dense lyricism. Jay-Z’s storytelling prowess, coupled with his nuanced observations of street life, mirrors Biggie’s ability to depict life’s grit and glory with a poetic touch.

TLDR/Conclusion

In conclusion, while each of these artists has their unique stylistic elements and thematic focuses, the influence of Biggie Smalls is undeniable. They’ve each taken elements of Biggie’s style – whether it’s his storytelling depth, his unflinching portrayal of street life, or his distinctive flow – and incorporated them into their own music. In doing so, they’ve helped to keep Biggie’s legacy alive, ensuring that his impact on the genre continues to be felt.

It’s important to note that while these artists may sound like Biggie, they are not mere imitations. Each artist has put their unique spin on the foundational elements of Biggie’s style. Snoop Dogg Picks East Coast Over West Coast For Bigger Impact On Hip Hop

Snoop Dogg says the East Coast has had a bigger impact on hip-hop than the West Coast. The legendary Long Beach rapper compared the two sides during an appearance on ESPN’s First Take on Tuesday with Stephen A. Smith. He explained that East Coast artists like RUN-D.M.C., LL COOL J, and Grandmaster Flash laid the groundwork for the genre for years to come.

“Definitely East Coast because East Coast started hip-hop,” Snoop explained. “It has the biggest impact where it was born, where it was growth, where it was developed is always gonna be the biggest impact. Because that’s the epicenter, that’s the foundation, that’s where it began. It’s the East Coast.”

He then described New York rappers as the “foundation.” He continued: “We learned from them, we got our style from them, we got our swag from them, we got our know how to get it together from them, our stage presence — everything from RUN-D.M.C., LL COOL J, Grandmaster Flash, to people who didn’t have no record deals. They set the foundation.”

Snoop also discussed his bid to purchase the NHL’s Ottawa Senators in a group with Hollywood film producer Neko Sparks and others. “This opportunity came for me to be a part of the ownership of the Ottawa Senators so I jumped on it,” he said. “And the plan that we have is to go and build a Snoop Youth Hockey League outside of Canada so kids in urban communities can learn about hockey [and] can play the sport.”

Elsewhere in the interview, the two discussed Snoop’s hometown Los Angeles Lakers preparing to take on the Golden State Warriors in the second round of the NBA playoffs. The Lakers went on to upset the Warriors in Golden State 117-112. Game 2 will tip off at 9:00 PM, ET on Thursday.

E-40, Ice Cube & Too $hort Debate The Mount Rushmore Of East Coast

Ice Cube, E-40, Too $hort, and Snoop Dogg form the Mount Rushmore of the West Coast. Each artist has over 30 years under their belt in the rap game. In 2020, they decided to join forces for a West Coast supergroup under the moniker Mount Westmore.

Cube, 40 and Too Short recently sat down with Talib Kweli on The People’s Podcast where they discussed who the East Coast counterparts would be when it comes to a Mount Westmore. The three rappers debated with Kweli on who belongs on the Mount Rushmore of the East Coast. E-40, Short and Cube agreed that Jay-Z and Nas belong in the top four positions, along with Busta Rhymes. However, it was the fourth position that was up for grabs.

Co-host Jasmin Leigh said that the list isn’t limited to artists from New York City rappers. That’s when Talib suggested that Redman deserves the fourth spot. He also said a Wu-Tang member, like Ghostface Killah, was also a candidate to round out the list.

“All of Wu-Tang is dope to me so I don’t know who we would put,” 40 added.

Too Short then suggested that Fat Joe would also be a solid contender. However, the conversation then extended to legends from the 80s such as KRS-one.

“You got to be a little more lightweight, a little more current,” 40 continued. “We need to put them in a whole different category. Them dude are super legends.”

Earlier this month, Mount Westmore released their debut album, Snoop, Cube, 40, $hort, including previously released singles like “Bad MFs.” However, it seems like fans could expect even more music from the legendary artists in the future. Short previously explained that they would be releasing more “volumes” to follow their debut album. No word on when we could expect them to deliver their next project but it seems like they could have a major 2023 ahead of them.
