Miami Heat fans will now be greeted by a lasting tribute to Dwyane Wade as the franchise legend becomes the first player in team history to receive a statue outside the Kaseya Center. Wade, who led the Heat to three championships during his 15-season tenure, was celebrated during a special unveiling ceremony.

The statue immortalizes a memorable moment from March 9, 2009, when Wade hit a buzzer-beating three-pointer against the Chicago Bulls. Dwyane Wade Couldn’t Contain His Disappointment Over Horrendous Statue

Dwyane Wade was a legendary player with the Miami Heat and his contributions to that franchise will forever live in infamy. He is a member of the Basketball Hall of Fame and has three NBA championships. Overall, he is beloved by Heat fans everywhere, and it should come as no surprise that the team would want to honor him. They have already retired his jersey number, but recently, they decided to go one step further and honor him in a different way.

The Heat did just that by commissioning a new statue to go outside of their arena. Last night, the statue was unveiled and Wade was there with his family for the honor. However, the unveiling did not go as planned. Overall, the statue turned out to be a massive disappointment. As you can see below, the statue did not look like Wade at all. The face was all jacked up, and Wade could not contain his disappointment. Multiple clips of Wade seemingly laughing at the statue went viral. Moreover, he said the quiet part out loud during his speech. “Who is that guy,” he remarked.

Statues are something that are pretty hard to nail, and those in charge of D-Wade’s have found that out the hard way. It feels like these kinds of statues are always being clowned on, without fail. Meanwhile, Wade can’t even put on a pair of pants without some people trying to call him “zesty.” Well, that is exactly what happened last night as Wade’s interview with CBS Mornings began to go viral. In this interview, the NBA legend noted that he was someday thinking of starting a nail care line. You can just imagine what kind of comments soon followed.

“And we was worried about Chris Bosh all them years,” one person wrote. “I swear everytime he’s just getting closer and closer to coming out,” said another. Others simply resorted to misgendering Zaya Wade and claiming that Zaya’s transition is some sort of indication of Dwyane’s preferences. It is all incredibly nasty stuff. However, D-Wade seems unbothered by all of it, which is most definitely admirable.

LeBron James Raps To Lil Wayne’s “A Milli” In New Beats Commercial

LeBron James love to rap along to his favorite artists. It’s right up there with carrying books around. He loves rapping along to music so much, in fact, that he’ll do it even when he doesn’t know the words yet. James went viral at the beginning of June for posting a video of himself rapping a Gunna song, and fans noticed that he kept looking down at his phone and reading lyrics. Fortunately, James didn’t have to read the lyrics during his appearance in the new Beats commercial. He knew the lyrics that Beats threw at him by heart.

The commercial sees LeBron James show up to a party and gush over the brand new Pill +. He then hears Lil Wayne’s classic “A Milli” blasting out of the device. He raps along to the chorus before a hard cut to a release date for “The Predicament.” The titular collaboration between James and Beats is set for release on June 25. James and Wayne have known each other for over a decade, but the two icons have not always seen eye to eye. Lil Wayne told Rolling Stone that he had a falling out with James after James and Dwyane Wade failed to acknowledge his court side presence during a 2011 game.

Wayne has become such a James fan, in fact, that he compared himself to the legendary athlete during a 2023 appearance on Bleacher Report.

Wayne felt he brings the same strengths to the rap game that LeBron James does on the court. “I would say that I’m like a LeBron,” the rapper posited. “I dropped my first solo album when I was 14, and that’s the same album I’m talking about that went platinum. The phenom that came out and I stuck something that came out. And I’ve been doing this at this pace or higher ever since, just like him.” It’s hard to argue with Wayne’s longevity. And based on the fact that James is still rapping to his music in 2024, he’d likely agree.

On the Draymond Green Show” Shaq recently related a story of how, at a crucial juncture in the 2006 NBA Finals, he inspired Dwyane Wade, his Miami Heat colleague. With the Heat behind the Dallas Mavericks 0–2, Shaq, who was struggling personally and seeing his own decline, had an important talk/argument with Wade. Shaq said to Draymond, “D-Wade, our first argument was in the Finals. We go down 0-2. I’m declining as Shaq.” He continued, I’m going through a divorce. I’m not Shaq. My first three guys are terrible, awful. So I pulled D-Wade in the room and said, ‘What the f**k you gonna do man?’”

“Motherf***er, you want to be the man, what the f**k you gonna do?’ I wasn’t trying to fight; I was just asking questions. He had a look of relief like, ‘Oh, I can?’ So yeah, motherf***er, I got four people on me.’ And he said, ‘Okay, Shaq.’ And he went off.” The argument was during the most pivotal time it could have been. The rest is history as the Heat went on to eventually beat the Dallas Mavericks in stunning fashion.

Wade’s play in the series’ final games was outstanding, and this talk proved to be a turning moment for him. Wade had incredible stats in the 2006 NBA Finals. With a 46.8% shooting percentage from the field, he averaged 34.7 points, 7.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 2.7 steals a game. Wade scored an incredible 42 points in this pivotal game 3, which helped the Heat win 98-96. Wade finished Game 3 with a box score of 42 points on 14 of 26 shots, 13 rebounds, 2 steals, 2 assists, and 0 blocks. His scoring outburst was crucial in changing the course of the series and giving his squad newfound confidence. And it was all thanks to Shaq getting real.

In the series-clinching Game 6, Wade scored 36 points, securing the Heat’s first NBA title with a 95-92 victory. Wade’s ability to rise to the occasion in the most important times solidified his position as one of the best postseason performances in NBA history. Dwyane Wade To Make Broadcast Debut During Paris Olympics As Analyst For Team USA Basketball

Basketball Hall of Famer Dwyane Wade will once more take center stage in his latest role as a game commentator for NBC Sports during the men’s basketball games played by Team USA at the Paris Olympics this summer. Wade will work with Noah Eagle, who will make his NBC Olympics debut in Paris and call the plays for the men’s and women’s basketball teams for Team USA. Kerith Burke and Zora Stephenson will cover the sidelines, while LaChina Robinson, who will work her third Olympic assignment for NBC Sports, will serve as the game analyst for the U.S. women’s Olympic basketball team.

“I’m thrilled to join NBC Sports as a commentator for Team USA Men’s Basketball games,” Wade said in a statement. “The Olympics are the world’s greatest sporting competition with elite athletes competing at the highest level on the world’s largest stage. I have tremendous pride when I look back at my time competing as an Olympic athlete. I have the utmost respect for these players and their commitment to greatness. It will be an honor to witness their journey in person and share this special experience with viewers while we unite to celebrate their pursuit of the gold.”

Dwyane Wade, a 13-time NBA All-Star and three-time NBA champion stated that his latest job is simply seizing the chance to try something new on TV. “It is a challenge for me,” Wade told USA TODAY Sports. “I am in a space where I am always in these certain challenges. You want to make sure that any door you want to walk through, if you put the work in, it will open for you.” Wade earned a gold medal in the 2008 Beijing Olympics while he was a member of the “Redeem Team” and worked as an NBA studio commentator for TNT from 2019 to 22.

Wade claims his familiarity with the game makes him more than capable of handling the role despite the fact he has never functioned in this capacity as a game commentator. He will not, however, criticize Team USA if they perform poorly in the Olympic competition. “Yeah, I won’t do that,” Wade says. “I think we have to discuss what we see. I am not really into calling players out, but to really give the audience an opportunity to understand what’s going on in the game.” Overall, D-Wade calling games for Team USA is something hoops fans can get behind.

Dwyane Wade has become a surprising champion of the LGBT community. The former Miami Heat player has one of the most impressive lists of NBA accomplishments in the league history. He racked up three championships as a member of the Heat and was named an All-Star an astonishing 13 times throughout his career. Since his retirement in 2019, however, he hasn’t faded from the public eye. Wade has continued to host game shows, appear at NBA events like All-Star Weekend, and become an advocate for transgender rights.

That advocacy followed his then 12-year-old daughter Zaya coming out as trans. Since then he hasn’t been shy about sharing positive messages to the trans community and the LGBT community at large. In a later interview he even revealed that he moved his family out of Florida to escape the states anti-LGBT policies. Now, Capella Grey has sparked a brand new controversy with a tweet about Wade’s support of his daughter and advocacy for LGBT people. His post has fans more divided than ever before in his comments. Grey’s hateful and profanity-laced tweet came earlier today. “Dwayne Wade is Disgusting. F*ck are u egging your son on to be a girl at 12. Ya normalizing to much weird sh*t and then celebrating it. F*ck it cancel me ya n*ggas is freaked out and bugged tf out” his post reads. Unsurprisingly, many came to Wade’s defense in the comments. Fans argued for Wade supporting his daughter, rather than “egging” her on. Equally unsurprising though, Grey didn’t seem to want to hear it. He continued arguing his point underneath multiple comments on the post trying to refute his hateful rhetoric.

Dwyane Wade Creates “Translatable” Community To Support Transgender Youth With Daughter Zaya

At the Make Good Famous Summit on Thursday, NBA Hall of Famer Dwyane Wade was presented with the Elevate Prize Catalyst Award for his urgent and vital work. Together with his 16-year-old daughter Zaya, he founded Translatable, an online community that is not just a support system but a lifeline for transgender children and their families. Wade’s mission for this community is clear: “support growth, mental health, and well-being, and to spark conversations that lead to greater understanding and acceptance.”

Wade will use the $250,000 in unrestricted funds he received from winning the Elevate Prize Catalyst Award to fund Translatable. Carolina García Jayaram, CEO of Elevate Prize Foundation, mentioned that her organization contributed an additional donation to the initiative. Dwyane Wade told the Associated Press, “The question was presented to [Zaya] as, ‘If you have one thing that you want to see change in this community, what would it be?’” Wade continued, “And, for her, it goes right to parents. It goes right to the adults. It goes right to us. It’s not the kids. It’s us. And so she wanted to create a space that felt safe for parents and their kids. That’s what Translatable is, and it’s her baby.”

As a result of anti-trans laws in the state of Florida,Dwyane Wade, who lived and played for the Miami Heat for nearly his whole playing career, moved his family to California following Zaya’s 2020 announcement of her gender identity. “We’ve done so many great things here so it wasn’t easy to leave,” he said of the move. “But the community wasn’t here for Zaya, so the community wasn’t here for us.”

With an emphasis on assisting communities of color, Translatable will be launched in Florida with backing from The Trevor Project and the Human Rights Campaign. “We understand that in this state that not everyone thinks the way some others think,” Wade noted. “Like most things in life, once you get to know them, you have more ability to be understanding. And so if you don’t want to know them, then you stay ignorant in a sense.”
