Kodak Black Update: Rapper’s Attorney Insists Lab Report Confirms Oxycodone, Not Cocaine, On His Person

No matter how discouraging Kodak Black’s situation looks from the outside, Bradford Cohen remains dedicated to bringing the Back For Everything artist home. As his client remains behind bars, the famous attorney is speaking out on his behalf. He claims that the substance on Yak’s person during his latest arrest wasn’t cocaine, as authorities claim. Rather, it was allegedly Oxycodone, which he has a prescription for after enduring beatdowns during past stints in prison.

Unfortunately for the Southern entertainer, Cohen’s request for a drug treatment program was denied. The presiding judge is calling him a “danger to the community.” Nevertheless, Black’s legal team continues in their fight for his freedom. They lit up social media with an update on Tuesday (January 9) morning. “As stated when this new case first was filed, this was not cocaine and the officer was lying about his observations,” the 26-year-old’s lawyer wrote in his latest Instagram caption.

“We finally got the lab report,” Cohen continued. “It’s Oxycodone that Kodak had a prescription for and not an illegal substance. Knowing that the officer substantially misrepresented his observations, the Broward State [Attorney] Office still filed the [charges]. Unbelievable and it will not be tolerated. This level of abuse of power by the arresting officers is disgusting.” For now, the plan of action is to “seek a new bond hearing and address these unethical practices by the police department.”

Unfortunately for Kodak Black, 2024 isn’t off to an optimistic start. After announcing on IG Live that he’s got another baby on the way, rumour has it that the Florida native might be behind bars even longer than expected. If all goes the prosecutor’s way, Yak will have to serve the sentence that was formerly pardoned by Donald Trump in 2020. Kodak Black Drug Arrest: Floridian Confirms Lean Use, Resents “Junkie” Allegations

Kodak Black has never claimed to be perfect, but the “Love & War” rapper’s erratic behaviour in recent years is beginning to cause serious concern among his fans. Just days after unleashing the experimental visuals for his “2’CY” track, Yak was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine. He’s obviously no stranger to trouble with the law, but when the police’s incident report revealed that he allegedly attempted to swallow a mouthful of cocaine, hip-hop heads couldn’t help but raise their eyebrows. Thankfully, Black has a skilled lawyer who helped him bond out and plead not guilty to the charges brought against him.

In his first Instagram Live stream since the news broke, the East Coast native addressed rumours circulating about him – particularly unflattering ones about being a “junkie.” He told viewers, “I was on the lean. I was asleep in front of my family house. That’s it. That ain’t illegal.” Still, Black knows he has to go through the motions of the legal process to prove his innocence. He didn’t have an explanation as to where the white power cops found on his person came from, but the 26-year-old was adamant that it’s not something he uses.

Kodak Black Speaks Out Following Latest Charges

“To be talking about cocaine? Hell no. F**k no. Bogus as f**k,” Kodak said. Besides his lean use, the embattled star also spoke about his experience popping Percs. “That was my medicine prescribed to me,” he shared before discussing the $350K he spent on rehab to “get clean and get better” while he was “damn near abusing” the emotion-stifling pills.

After bonding out of jail a few days ago, one of the first tasks on Kodak Black’s to-do list was supporting Kanye West at his Vultures listening event in Miami. Others in attendance included Lil Baby, Freddie Gibbs, Chris Brown, and even Ye’s 10-year-old daughter, North. Ally Lotti Accepts Plea Deal After Drug Arrest, Juice WRLD’s Ex Won’t Face Jail Time

Following the tragic death of Juice WRLD back in 2019, his past girlfriend, Ally Lotti, has had a lot to say about her late lover. From giving a heartfelt speech during his Rolling Loud tribute to keeping his memory alive on her Instagram page, her affection for the rapper has been evident over the years.

A piece of her heart will surely always belong to the Chicago native. However, she’s been dating Carter Jamison as of late. Unfortunately, the two got in some serious trouble earlier this month after shoplifting at an Arkansas Walmart.

A TMZ report reveals that the store’s security cameras allegedly saw the couple at a self-checkout station. At the time, they apparently failed to scan several of their items. Among them were wall mirrors, a bed frame, a bath towel, and a digital scale.

The arresting officer searched Lotti and Jamison, finding capsules of cocaine in the former’s pocket and purse, documents state. Luckily, they had high-profile attorney Bradford Cohen on their side, and he says the whole thing “seems like a misunderstanding.”

According to the lawyer, his clients thought they scanned and paid for all their items. Additionally, a Walmart employee allegedly gave their transaction the green light by checking their receipt. “[They] would never take something intentionally,” Cohen states.

Despite this, Lotti still plead guilty to misdemeanour possession of instruments of crime. She was given a one-year sentence, but later saw a suspension in favour of six months of probation. If the young woman manages to stay clean during that time, her case will be dismissed.

Her initial charges were felony possession of methamphetamine, cocaine, or heroin and misdemeanour theft of property. For Jamison’s part, he was also taken in for property theft. After pleading no contest, he’s facing the same sentence as his girlfriend. The two of them also have $1,160 in fines to pay.

Shortly after the Walmart arrest incident earlier this month, Lotti’s boyfriend gave her a fancy new Benz that was promptly shown off on social media. See that for yourself here, and check back later for more hip-hop crime news updates.
