When Will Drake’s ‘Scary Hours 3’ Be On Apple Music?

Time means nothing to Drake. On Wednesday afternoon, November 15, Drake released his and J. Cole’s “First Person Shooter” video. Less than 24 hours later, he has announced Scary Hours 3 will release tomorrow, November 17. The project will arrive just six weeks after For All The Dogs, his latest No. 1 album and 13th in his career (per Billboard). Generally, Drake has taken a liking to giving people little-to-no warning that a project is on the way. See: March 2021’s Scary Hours 2 and June 2022’s Honestly, Nevermind.

Remember when Drake openly contemplated retirement? That was cute. We’ll get real-time insight into what’s on Drake’s mind now when Scary Hours 3 presumably hits Apple Music (and all DSPs) at 9 p.m. PST and midnight EST (November 17).

In the Instagram video confirming Scary Hours 3, Drake says, “I’ll say this to you: I feel no need to appease anybody. I feel so confident about the body of work that I just dropped that I know I could go and disappear for, whatever, six months, a year, two years — even though I’m not really, like, into [laughs] — I’m not really into the super lengthy disappearances for the sake of mystery, but…”

He continues, “You know, ultimately, it’s coming to me in a way that I haven’t experienced maybe since, like, If You’re Reading This, where it’s just kind of like, I feel like I’m on drugs. I feel like I’m in that mental state without doing anything. I did those songs in the last five days. I didn’t have one bar written down for those songs on the night that For All The Dogs dropped. It’s not like I’m picking up from some unfinished sh*t, you know, this is just — it’s happening on its own. And, you know, who am I to fight it, right? And to fight back against the right thing would be, well, you know.”

In the middle of the night, Drake revealed that he’s releasing a brand new project, Scary Hours 3, as another surprise drop. The new record will be out this Friday, November 17 starting at midnight on all streaming platforms.

The Canadian rapper shared a teaser trailer for it on social media, revealing at the end that it is being executive-produced by Noel Cadastre, Drake, and Kevin Durant.

“I did those songs in the last five days,” Drake says in the video. “I didn’t have one bar written down for those songs on the night that For All The Dogs dropped. It’s not like I’m picking up from some unfinished sh*t, you know, this is just… it’s happening on its own. And, you know, who am I to fight it, right? And to fight back against the right thing would be… you know.”

Right now, not much else is known about the tracklist or if Drake will have any features on the project. As he pointed out, it has only been a short time since he dropped For All The Dogs. He’s also been on tour but has been busy working on new music again.

On October 6, Drake released For All The Dogs, his eighth album. He could have easily just taken the rest of 2023 off to relax and plot his 2024. Instead, he’s ending the year with yet another bang: Early this morning (November 16), Drake shared a trailer for Scary Hours 3, which is set to release at midnight tomorrow, November 17.

In a video captioned “Scary Hours 3, Tonight at Midnight,” there’s some nighttime footage of a city before Drake enters a theater and watches an orchestra perform. At the end of the clip, a program pamphlet is shown, which notes that Scary Hours 3 is executive produced by Noel Cadastre, Drake, and Kevin Durant.

In a voiceover, Drake says:

“I’ll say this to you: I’m not… I feel no need to appease anybody. I feel so confident about the body of work that I just dropped that I know I could go and disappear for, whatever, six months, a year, two years — even though I’m not really, like, into [laughs] I’m not really into the super lengthy disappearances for the sake of mystery, but… you know, ultimately, it’s coming to me in a way that I haven’t experienced maybe since, like, If You’re Reading This, where it’s just kind of like, I feel like I’m on drugs. Drake Further Tied Himself To Michael Jackson In His ‘First Person Shooter’ Video, The Song That Tied A Michael Jackson Record

Drake received backlash when For All The Dogs dropped in early October. One of his strategies was to rely on the receipts he’s kept of people initially hating his now-beloved 2011 album, Take Care. His For All The Dogs track “First Person Shooter,” featuring J. Cole, gave him a new receipt to deploy upon hates, as it became his 13th-career No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 — tying him with Michael Jackson for the most-ever Hot 100 No. 1s by a male solo artist. Drake flexed on that fact in the newly dropped video for “First Person Shooter,” directed by Gibson Hazard.

The last minute of the five-minute masterpiece finds Drake on the roof of what is later revealed to be “October’s Very Own Arena,” which is Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena temporary rebranded name for Drake’s hometown It’s All A Blur Tour shows. He does Jackson’s signature spin move to correspond with his “Beat It” reference as he raps, “N****s talkin’ ’bout when this gon’ be repeated / What the f*ck, bro? I’m one away from Michael / N***a, beat it, n***a, beat it, what?”

As pointed out by Camilla Ruud on X (formerly known as Twitter), Drake also had the floor light up below him, à la Jackson’s video for “Billie Jean.” After Drake completes his spin, he’s wearing an MJ glove and jacket.

As pointed out above, the song in which he rapped about being “one away from Michael” ironically became the one that tied him with Michael. The hook of “First Person Shooter” also spawned the title of Drake and J. Cole’s newly announced joint 2024 tour, It’s All A Blur Tour — Big As The What?

How Tall Is Drake?

We can all agree that Drake is definitely taller than Adonis, his six-year-old son and “8AM In Charlotte” video co-star. We can also agree that Drake’s influence reaches far and wide, with 13 No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 hits to his name. But his newly dropped video for “First Person Shooter” featuring J. Cole, his most recent No. 1, has presented a divisive question: How tall is Drake?

Just over two minutes into the Gibson Hazard-directed “First Person Shooter” video, a graphic appears. Said graphic claims that Drake is 6 feet, 2 inches. Fans online are clowning him for presumably exaggerating his height.

True Drake fans know that he rapped about being 6 feet, 1 inch in “Sneakin’” featuring 21 Savage, and it’s probably safe to assume that he hasn’t hit a growth spurt since More Life arrived in March 2017. While the only people who know Drake’s true height are Drake and Drake’s PCP, Google muddies the waters even more by listing Drake as 6-feet tall. We need Adonis’ next freestyle to address this issue.

Drake And J. Cole’s ‘First Person Shooter’ Video Has Fans Asking An Important Question: Why Is Drake Lying About His Height?

Drake’s For All The Dogs album features the track “Fear Of Heights,” which has taken on new meaning after he dropped the Gibson Hazard-directed video for “First Person Shooter” featuring J. Cole. There’s a lot to unpack here, from Brian Baumgartner reprising his The Office character to Drake and Cole recreating Messi and Ronaldo’s chess-themed Louis Vuitton ad. But eyebrows were raised at one particular graphic around the two-minute mark.

In it, Drake’s height is listed as 6 feet, 2 inches. One quick Google search suggests that Drake is 6-feet tall, and Drake is contradicting himself because he rapped “6’1″, man, a n***a need some leg room” in his More Life track “Sneakin’” featuring 21 Savage.

The discourse is discoursing, with people simply wondering why Drake feels the need to seemingly lie about his height.

“First Person Shooter” recently hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, and its chorus spawned the title of Drake and Cole’s newly announced 2024 joint tour, It’s All A Blur Tour — Big As The What? The Cash App presale is underway and will last until Thursday, November 16, at 10 p.m. local time. The general public sale is scheduled for Friday, November 17, at 11 a.m. local time.

Travis Scott Reflects On Astroworld Tragedy: ‘I Always Think About It’

Travis Scott

Travis Scott has revealed the enduring impact of the Astroworld tragedy on his life. In a candid interview with GQ magazine, the Houston rapper discusses how the tragic incident weighs heavily on him and his deep love for his fans.

Travis Scott Opens Up

On Nov. 14, Travis Scott opened up about the lasting impact of the Astroworld tragedy on his life. Scott’s heartfelt words in the GQ interview demonstrate the distress the tragedy continues to cause him. He expressed:

“I always think about it. Those fans were like my family. You just feel for those people. And their families.”

The pain of losing fans he considered to be close-knit had a profound impact on the rapper, making the tragedy an ever-present burden.

The Astroworld Festival, held on November 5, 2021, turned into a night of horror as ten audience members lost their lives and thousands were injured in a crowd crush at NRG Park in Houston.

‘My Eyes’

Moreover, Scott discussed the challenges he faced while creating his latest album, UTOPIA, in the wake of the tragedy.

The “SICKO MODE” rapper explained how making music allowed him to reflect on life and personal experiences, driving him to concentrate on the devastating effects of that fateful day:

“That moment for families, for the city, you know, it was devastating,” Scott said.

Scott’s lyrics in the song “My Eyes” on the UTOPIA album further emphasize his emotional connection to the tragedy. He sings:

“I replay them nights, and right by my side, all I see is a sea of people that ride wit’ me/If they just knew what Scotty would do to jump off the stage and save him a child.” The memories still haunt him, occupying his thoughts on a daily basis.

‘This Song Is Emotional To Me’

Notably, users on Twitter (X) reacted to the news.

One user named @seokiess_m commented, “I will always get a bad vibe with travis scott for the astroworld situation im sorry he did not make effort to support those victims families at all.” One other user named @Degen_Alfie commented “was a very sad tragedy. No one could’ve foreseen it happened.”

Despite the pain and controversy surrounding the tragedy, Scott wanted to remind his fans that he, too, experiences pain and has concerns he contemplates daily. The Astroworld incident profoundly affected him, and through his music, he hopes to convey his emotions authentically:

“The song is emotional to me,” Scott shared. “It’s one of my favorite songs on the album. And that verse means a lot to me.”

It is important to note that Scott, who initially faced the possibility of criminal charges, was later cleared of any responsibility by a Texas grand jury in June 2023.

Travis Scott & Festival Organizers Not Facing Criminal Charges For Astroworld Tragedy

Travis Scott and the organizers of the Astroworld Festival will not face criminal charges over the deadly crowd rush that occurred during the event in November 2021. A grand jury in Houston reached this decision, concluding that there was insufficient evidence of criminal conduct by Scott, the festival manager, and others involved. While this outcome provides legal clarity, the tragedy serves as a reminder of the importance of event safety and the prevention of similar incidents in the future.

Astroworld Tragedy: The Verdict

Travis Scott and the individuals responsible for organizing the Astroworld Festival, including festival manager Brent Silberstein, John Junell of Live Nation, security planners Seyth and Shawna Boardman, and Emily Ockenden, will not face criminal charges in connection with the crowd rush that led to the deaths of 10 people and injuries to numerous others.

The grand jury in Houston decided not to issue any criminal charges, known as no-bills, after reviewing the evidence related to the tragic incident. The District Attorney’s office determined that the evidence did not meet the standard for charging the individuals involved.

During the Astroworld Festival, which took place on November 5, 2021, attendees were caught in a chaotic crowd rush, resulting in crushing and injuries to thousands of people. Over 2,000 individuals required medical attention during the event.

Travis Scott’s attorney, Kent Schaffer, released a statement emphasizing that his client will not face criminal charges and asserting that Scott is not responsible for the tragedy. The focus should now be on event safety and preventing similar incidents from occurring in the future, according to Schaffer.
The Astroworld tragedy sparked legal proceedings and lawsuits, with Scott and Drake, who also performed at the festival, facing legal action. While criminal charges have been ruled out, the incident’s aftermath continues to be addressed through civil litigation.

Travis Scott, Drake Hit With $2 Billion Astroworld Lawsuit

A large number of Astroworld attendees filed lawsuits against Travis Scott, Drake, LiveNation, and Apple following the deadly festival tragedy. All together they are looking for $2 billion to be paid out on behalf of 282 plaintiffs linked to the event.

Travis Scott Names In $2 Billion In Damages From Astroworld

Recently the Astroworld tragedy claimed its ninth and tenth victims after two more victims passed away, including a ten-year-old child Ezra Blout who died from injuries sustained earlier this month.

The newest complaint was filed by attorney Thomas J Henry, Esq. on behalf of concertgoer Kristin Paredes.

“The defendants stood to make an exorbitant amount of money off this event, and they still chose to cut corners, cut costs, and put attendees at risk.” Henry said in a statement. “ My clients want to ensure the defendants are held responsible for their actions, and they want to send the message to all performers, event organizers, and promoters that what happened at Astroworld cannot happen again.’

Astroworld Claims Another Victim.  Could Travis Have Done More?

We recently reported on the passing of nine-year old Ezra Blout who was the latest victim of the Astroworld stampede. His family has sued Travis Scott and Live Nation for negligence after the deadly Astroworld concert.  A 22-year-old concertgoer has also died from her injuries as well bringing the death toll to 10.

Could Travis Scott have prevented their fates?  Fire Chief Samuel Peña told the New York Times that Travis Scott and the organizers could have stepped in and paused the show.
