Drake Shows Out In “Jumbotron Sh*t Poppin” Music Video: $3.3M Of Pharrell’s Chains, Gold PSP & More

Drake dished out a new visual for a fan-favorite Her Loss, capturing a glimpse into his luxe life. He parties overseas; drives Ferraris, and posts in front of mansions. Drake is out here living his best life and what we deem luxurious is basically an average day for him.

The real flexes in the “Jumbotron Sh*t Poppin” music video are the rare items that he flaunts throughout the song. Though Drake’s known to have an impressive collection of jewelry, he pulls out $3.3M worth of chains previously owned by Pharrell, per AllHipHop.

If you recall, Skateboard P’s Jacob & Co. collection went up for auction on Joopiter including a 14K three-tone N.E.R.D pendant ($2,184,000), a white gold brain pendant ($725,000), and the skateboard pendant ($103,750). Drake didn’t verbally confirm his purchase but he made it clear that they’re in his possession in the new music video. He also flaunted two other chains from P’s collection, the Brain Pendant Chain and the BBC Pendant in yellow gold. Both were sold for $150K.

In addition to the influx of chains that he’s rocking in the video, Drake also flexes a gold PSP.

The music video for Drake’s “Jumbotron Sh*t Poppin” includes appearances from a slew of his celebrity friends. Following their performance in St. Barth’s, he and Central Cee shop for Rolex watches. Later on, Mike Tyson, Lil Baby, and French Montana show faces across the visuals.

Drizzy’s new video also boasts a plethora of cameos from artists like Central Cee, Lil Baby and French Montana. Mike Tyson also makes a brief appearance in the video.

Drake and 21 Savage’s Her Loss arrived in November following the announcement in the “Jimmy Cooks” video. The project was initially due out on Oct. 28th but after OVO 40 caught COVID-19, they pushed the album back by a week.

Last week, Drake joined Popcaan in the release of “We Caa Done.” Popcaan’s new single is expected to appear on his forthcoming album, Great Is He, which will drop via OVO Sound.

This weekend, Drake will perform in Harlem for a pair of shows at the legendary Apollo Theater. On Saturday, January 21 and Sunday, January 22, Drake will grace the stage for his first shows of 2023. It wouldn’t be surprising if he brought out some special guests.

Drake’s ‘Jumbotron Sh*t Poppin’ Video Features Mike Tyson, $3 Million Worth Of Pharrell’s Jewelry, And A Gold PSP

Drake is wealthy, and if that wasn’t obvious based just on his long-running musical success, he takes every opportunity to show it off, whether he’s sharing big bets or buying an amusement park. Now, his new video for Her Loss highlight “Jumbotron Sh*t Poppin” is more of the same.

The video is presented as a slice-of-life look into three days of Drake’s life. Well, it looks like he packed a lot into those 72 hours. Perhaps most notably, he took time to show off a ton of jewelry. HipHopDX notes that some of the wares come from an online auction Pharrell hosted last October, in which he sold off his personal jewelry and other items. Spotted in the Drake video were “a 14K three-tone N.E.R.D pendant chain ($2,184,000), a white gold brain pendant chain ($725,000) and a skateboard pendant chain ($103,750),” and the publication estimates Drake flexed about $3.3 million worth of Pharrell’s old jewelry overall.

Elsewhere in the video, we get appearances from Mike Tyson, Lil Baby, and French Montana. Drake also nods to the gamers watching by prominently showing off a golden Sony PSP (that handheld video game console from the 2000s, in case you forgot) at multiple points.

The Boy is back with another video, digging back into the HER LOSS album to drop off a look into his life for the “Jumbotron Shit Poppin” video.

The video is shot from the perspective of “this is 72 hours for us” and follows Drake from a private villa to the Rolex store, club, on stage, dinner, and more.

The video is the second of 2023 for Drake. He previously joined Dancehall superstar Popcaan who announced his new album, Great Is He, will be released on Jan. 27th, via OVO Sound, after unveiling the cover artwork and promising new music earlier this week.

The new album embodies the dancehall superstar’s typical blend of bombast, brooding, and brukking out, while also delving into the genre’s flexibility and importance on current music.

To get fans ready for the forthcoming album, Popcaan teamed with Drake to drop off the first OVO single of 2023 “We Caa Done.” The new single is co-produced by TRESOR and Batundi and comes with a video directed by Theo Skurda during the team’s trip to Turks and Caicos.

“‘We Caa Done’ is all about persevering,” Popcaan said of the single. “We don’t think about limits. We’re living the life we’ve dreamed of, and despite what the haters and naysayers have to say, we will only be greater.”

You can hear the new single and see the video below.

Drake Said He ‘Wouldn’t Be Anywhere’ Without This Rapper Who Influenced Him

The other week, Reason argued that Fabolous is a better rapper than Andre 3000. “[Fab] out-raps Wayne, he said. “If you can out-rap Wayne, you can out-rap Andre 3000. He’s out-rapped Wayne on records. … I’m not saying it’s easy for Fab, but I think if Fab came in with the mindset of ‘I want the best verse,’ I think Fab can out-rap Andre 3000.”

Now, Drake is singing Fabolous’ praises as well. In a new Instagram story, he posted a picture of the rapper with text that reads: “Real sh*t @myfabolouslife was really just taking in how much you influenced everything for me,” and he “wouldn’t be anywhere without this guy.”

In September, Fabolous made an appearance alongside Trina and DJ Whoo Kid at AEW’s Arthur Ashe Stadium show at Flushing Meadows-Corona Park in Queens for the Dynamite Grand Slam show.

Meanwhile Drake is still riding the success of his collaborative LP with 21 Savage, Her Loss, that came out last year. At the end of December, it surpassed 1 billion streams on Spotify. Before the album was even released, the pair decided to launch a whole fake promotional cycle, which included a photoshopped Vogue cover, a spoof NPR Tiny Desk, a parody SNL performance, a faux Howard Stern interview, and even more.
