DJ Akademiks Offers Fair Warning To Drake Amid Kendrick Lamar Beef

Out of the many shots that Drake had for Kendrick Lamar on his leaked “Push Ups” diss track, one in particular instilled fear in the hearts of even the most hardcore OVO fans. “I be with some bodyguards like Whitney,” he rapped on the cut, referencing his security detail and Whitney Houston’s role in the film The Bodyguard. However, the real notable aspect of this bar is that K.Dot’s partner’s name is Whitney Alford, and the common interpretation is that The Boy is claiming that she cheated on him with his bodyguards. As DJ Akademiks recently explained on his livestream, this is a very dangerous game for him to play again considering how this worked out for him the first time.

“Drake… you did the same thing twice now,” DJ Akademiks pointed out. “You mentioned Virginia Williams or whatever, Pusha T’s wife. And you saw that n***a took the gloves off, and we saw what happened. You mentioned Whitney, and Kendrick Lamar’s wife’s name is Whitney. You have to be prepared for anything! There is no, ‘Oh, nah, I can’t believe you said that.’ No! ‘Cause you’re talking crazy already, too. This is a knock-them-out slugfest, this is no holds barred, this is, ‘I don’t care what that n***a says!’ He could expose…”

DJ Akademiks’ Warning To Drake Over Mentioning Kendrick Lamar’s Wife

Furthermore, this is a hot topic of debate for rap fans now, especially those who remember the savagery of Pusha T’s “The Story Of Adidon.” Still, DJ Akademiks still thinks that Drake has the leg-up right now, and that Kendrick Lamar is “on the clock” to respond quickly with a retort. Many continue to debate over whether either MC can really beat the other, considering the wildly different lanes they occupy. Also, it seems like no matter what happens in this beef, neither fanbase will ever be able to reconcile with the other.

Meanwhile, who do you think will “win” this showdown? Does the Whitney bar pose a grave threat to the 6ix God now or is the Compton lyricist the more affected target? However you may feel, drop your thoughts in the comments section down below. Also, log back into HNHH for more news and the latest updates on DJ Akademiks, Drake, and Kendrick Lamar.

Future & Metro Boomin Tap The Weeknd For Spacey “All To Myself” Off Of New Album “WE STILL DON’T TRUST YOU”

Future and Metro Boomin’s second collaborative LP of 2024, WE STILL DON’T TRUST YOU, is a more R&B-inspired effort than its predecessor, and who better to tap to give the album these ethereal vibes than Abel Tesfaye himself? Moreover, the “Low Life” trio comes together yet again on “All To Myself,” on which both Fewtch and The Weeknd provide some compelling and passionate vocal performances. As for the St. Louis beat wizard, his patient drums, dreamy synth pads, and cavernous guitar solos make for a truly intoxicating vibe that the lead vocalists fit perfectly. Honestly, never mind the alleged Drake diss that the XO boss includes here: this would still be one of the most notable, complete, and chemistry-filled cuts on the whole project.

In fact, this is a pretty tall order considering that The Weeknd also appears on WE STILL DON’T TRUST YOU‘s title track (and music video). In comparison to that cut, though, the feature here is much more fleshed-out, compact, and specifically spotlit for the Canadian superstar. He follows Future’s lyrical themes of needing a partner all to himself, and their vulnerable lyrics on the matter, while sometimes too sappy, really fit the tone of the instrumentation on “All To Myself” quite well. Not only that, but this also showcases their vocal chemistry in a really cohesive and complementary way. Whereas Pluto’s croons are low and husky, the “Faith” singer soars high in his range. Also, they handle various flows quite seamlessly, and some extra embellishments like evolving drums and new timbres and melodies mean that Metro also does his part to craft this song dynamically.

Rick Ross Trolls Drake At Club Concert Amid Beef, Responds To DMs With His Mom

“Lord Knows” what other bangers Drake and Rick Ross could’ve cooked up if it wasn’t for their current beef, but here we are. The latest development in this feud is a recent appearance that the latter gave at a club, at which he wore a hoodie of the former and played his music while cutting it off on occasion. Rozay was on the mic trash talking and living in the moment, following with his relentless trolling of the 6ix God online for his alleged nose job and his other rumored surgeries. Still, for some fans, this is all moot if it isn’t on wax.

Fortunately for Rick Ross, at least he has his lightning-fast response to Drake’s diss track to stand by, even if he’s just repeating many of his same talking points there online. Here’s what Drizzy had to say about the response and these cosmetic allegations to his mother, who texted him about people being nosy about his sniffer. “I would have got us a 2 for 1 deal if I went ma,” he wrote after many crying-laughing emojis, denying the speculaton. “It’s coming from Rick Ross the guy I did songs with. He’s gone loopy off the Mounjaro he hasn’t eaten in days and it’s turned him angry and racist. He’s performing at proms for money it’s bad don’t worry we’ll handle it.”

Then, Rick Ross responded to this specific message exchange via a video on his Instagram Story today (Sunday, April 14). Basically, he was making fun of how “Cupcake Drake” shared his messages with his mother and had to tell her about his feud. The Maybach Music Group mogul also kept calling him “white boy” and “big nose,” and continued his clowning of the OVO boss’ alleged liposuction. However, he also called Sandra Graham a “beautiful lady” who should know that her son “stayed out at the park too late,” so he didn’t extend the disrespect to the family.

With all this in mind, do you think either MC is “winning” right now or is it all just Internet fodder? What about the other alleged responses that are currently raging on in this rap world civil war? Drop your takes on all this in the comments section below. DJ Akademiks Thinks Kendrick Lamar Is “On The Clock” To Respond To Drake Diss

Now that Drake’s leaked diss has officially set the stage for what might be the biggest rap battle we’ve seen since Jay-Z and Nas, everyone has one question dominating their mind: when and how will Kendrick Lamar respond? It’s important to note that the OVO mogul went for three full weeks since “Like That” before dropping a response on wax (albeit indirectly but… who’s buying that this wasn’t calculated?). Now, folks like DJ Akademiks think that K.Dot has a limited time to respond, as he expressed with a recent tweet. “You are on the clock,” he quote-tweeted a post from his TV page about this Drizzy line on the leak: “You had a song for four years, drop that s**t or shut your mouth.”

Furthermore, this is obviously inspiring a lot of debate among rap fans, especially given Rick Rosslightning-fast response to the shots he caught on the leak. Some folks think that Kendrick Lamar should at least have as much time as Drake had in the public eye to drop a lyrical retaliation. Others think that the aforementioned “four years” bar puts a bit more pressure on him to act fast. Also, we have to consider that the 6ix God didn’t just have to write up returning fire for the Compton lyricist, but for Rozay, Future, Metro Boomin, and what feels like half of the mainstream rap game.

DJ Akademiks Believes Kendrick Lamar’s Clock Is Ticking, And That He Should Act Fast

In fact, DJ Akademiks had previously said that Drake doesn’t have a time limit at all. His explanation pointed to the fact that Kendrick Lamar’s “Like That” was just a short verse, not a full song, and thus was more of a warning shot. However, now that The Boy dropped four minutes’ worth of relentless attacks, the media personality thinks there’s some real pressure on the table. It makes sense when you look at the historical timeline of previous rap feuds, including the Toronto superstar’s own.

Still, it doesn’t change the fact that the overall conversation and hype around these very different tracks is basically the same, so it’s a level playing field in the public eye. Plus, “Like That” was a very direct attack against Aubrey, so it’s not like he was just taking his time to decide whether to really fall for presumed bait or not. While DJ Akademiks thinks that the “Wick Man” spitter will come out on top when all the smoke clears, we want to hear your predictions for this beef in the comments. Drake Denies Rick Ross’ Nose Job Claims, Sends This Scathing Shot At His Diss

Rick Rossresponse track to Drake’s diss was an Amazon same-day delivery, and the latter wasted very little time in coming through with a clap-back of his own. Moreover, it’s not in diss track form, but instead a screenshot posted on his Instagram Story on Sunday (April 14) of a text message exchange between him and his mother, who actually had a very wholesome message about rumors that Rozay started on the diss. “Aubs – the internet is saying you got a nose job??” she asked Drizzy. “You looked the same to me in the kitchen today.

“I can’t believe you would get one without me, cuz you know I always wanted one,” Sandi Graham went on about Rick Ross’ claims about her son Drake, accusations which also included a supposed cease and desist letter to French Montana. “Don’t tell me that you got tattoos without me and now this, too?” she concluded. Drizzy’s response began with a slew of crying-laughing emojis, and continued: “I would have got us a 2 for 1 deal if I went ma. It’s coming from Rick Ross the guy I did songs with. He’s gone loopy off the Mounjaro he hasn’t eaten in days and it’s turned him angry and racist. He’s performing at proms for money it’s bad don’t worry we’ll handle it.”

Drake’s Response To Rick Ross’ Nose Job Claims

“@richforever [Rick Ross] you’re one nosey goof,” Drake wrote under the screenshot on his Instagram Story. It looks like, between this and the words that he had for The Biggest Boss on his leaked diss track, the OVO/MMG partnership is buried. It’s quite sad considering their wealth of great material together, but there’s obviously a lot we don’t know. Still, maybe one day we’ll get a clearer picture of what happened.

Meanwhile, what do you think about these clapbacks from one “Lemon Pepper Freestyle” MC to another? Also, what about what other folks have allegedly responded to? Drake Allegedly Cease & Desisted French Montana Over “Splash Brothers” Verse

Rick Ross just ramped up rap’s civil war by dropping a response diss to Drake, on which he takes a lot of shots at his alleged surgeries, racial insecurity, label prospects, and more. However, one of the most notable lines sought to claim that the OVO mogul sent French Montana a cease and desist letter. “You sent the police, n***a, hatin’ on my dog project,” Rozay said on the cut after this accusation, and it’s important to note that this is still speculation since French hasn’t commented on it at press time. As such, fans began to theorize as to what this letter could’ve meant, and the common conclusion is that it was because of a song (or verse) that didn’t make his most recent album, Mac & Cheese 5.

Furthermore, some fans believe that this references a leaked track called “Big Pun” which apparently featured Drake. In fact, rumors floated that this song would appear on French Montana’s next project when a snippet surfaced in May of 2023 before a full leak in December of that year, and there was also speculation that Metro Boomin produced it. Of course, this is very interesting because of Metro’s current feud with Drizzy. But it probably wouldn’t have been of much note if it wasn’t for this recent context.

Drake’s Leaked Verse On French Montana’s “Splash Brothers”: Listen

On the other hand, the more widely believed theory about this alleged cease and desist letter is that it’s about the track “Splash Brothers” off of Mac & Cheese 5. While this track does appear on the album with features from Lil Wayne and, ironically enough, Rick Ross, it was supposedly meant to be on French Montana’s previous album and with a Drake feature instead of Tunechi. It would make more sense if this is why the Maybach Music Group honcho is invested in this track rather than caring about the unreleased song “Big Pun.” Also, he would likely have more first-hand knowledge of it.

Meanwhile, we wonder if this means the Moroccan-American artist will have to “pick a side” now or if he’d rather stay out of this. He and the 6ix God have some collaborations and good times to look back on, and it seemed like everything was good between them. We’ll see what else comes of this in the near future. REASON Co-Signs Drake Diss, Addresses Conflict With TDE

TDE rapper REASON is not a big fan of his label, as they’ve been in conflict over allegedly stalled release dates and a lack of belief in his talent. However, it came as a surprise to many when the leaked Drake diss, which sent shockwaves throughout hip-hop today (Saturday, April 13), had fans thinking that this hammered the final nail in the coffin for this artist-label relationship. Moreover, the Carson, California native tweeted and deleted that the final version of that leak’s production is really solid, and then retweeted a fan explaining part of what went down with Top Dawg Entertainment. Still, he didn’t completely let this narrative run… at least, for a little bit.

REASON then called cap on someone saying that TDE dropped him, but later clarified via Twitter that he’s been looking for those papers for a while. As such, while this is not really surprising, we at least have word from the artist that he doesn’t want to be a part of the label anymore. Hopefully this ends up working out well for both parties if it actually ends up manifesting. Most recently, their spats were much more light and frankly unconnected: one of them was just differing opinions between the Porches spitter and Top Dawg co-president Moosa on J. Cole’s Kendrick Lamar diss.

In fact, REASON was also one of many folks from the TDE camp to react, whether overtly or subliminally, to Cole retracting his track against Kendrick and basically waving the white flag in their beef. “Idk man, i just… idk,” he wrote on Twitter after this went down at Dreamville Fest, which seemed to allude to it. The “Show Stop” MC actually wanted to see these titans go at each other. At least he seems to have gotten what he wanted from that Drake diss to the Compton lyricist, and might continue to do so if K.Dot’s response track comes out soon.

Addressing TDE Departure Rumors

Meanwhile, we wonder for how much longer these label issues will persist, or how much longer either party will hold out in their firm position. Either way, it looks like this new rap civil war is making MCs just as happy as the fans, and making them reconsider their priorities and loyalties to small or large degrees. After all, there’s no way that liking a beat will be enough to completely turn you away or get you hate from any reasonable person. Drake Responds To Leaked Diss Reactions In The Most Drake Way Possible

After letting hip-hop lose its collective mind for a couple of hours, it seems like Drake has finally responded to all the ruckus about his leaked diss track. For those unaware, a couple of different versions of a response track to Kendrick Lamar, Future, Metro Boomin, and more’s disses surfaced online on Saturday (April 13). While a lot of folks are still silent, have dropped potentially subliminal clap-backs, or outright fired back, The Boy stayed unfazed online up until a recent Instagram Story post. It’s very simple: just a picture of Uma Thurman as The Bride in the Kill Bill franchise, facing off against a group of assassins with just a katana in her hand.

Of course, even if Drake is just a big Tarantino fan and wanted to post this shot, it’s impossible to interpret this post in any other way right now. This is especially true because of a certain William (Bill) whose stage name will likely sound much more familiar to you. Rick Ross dropped his response track to Drizzy within mere hours of the leak emerging, on which he takes aim at his biracial identity, his alleged surgeries, and his supposed ratting out of French Montana to law enforcement via a cease and desist. It seems like no one directly involved in this feud has wasted any sort of time in offering up at least something to escalate things… except maybe its big instigator.

Kendrick Lamar remains silent on everything since his explosive “Like That” verse dropped on Future and Metro Boomin’s first collab album of 2024. Many folks online clamored for him to drop the response track expeditiously, including Drake himself with some jabs on his leaked song. Now that this is officially the end of “Round 1” (or perhaps, the Compton lyricist’s retort is what will mark this), fans are truly excited for a lyrical showdown. The consensus seems to be that the OVO mogul’s song was very good, so the stage is set for a quality back-and-forth.

Meanwhile, what do you think about this post from Aubrey and what others have allegedly fired back at him? Is there anyone who can take down The Bride? However you may feel, let us know in the comments down below. For more news and the latest updates on Drake, stay logged into HNHH.

SZA Seemingly Reacts To Drake Name-Dropping Her In Leaked Diss Track

In Drake’s explosive leaked diss track, there was a particular set of bars name-dropping other artists that he thinks have surpassed Kendrick Lamar, his biggest opponent, that caught fans’ attention. These three artists are Travis Scott, 21 Savage, and K.Dot’s former TDE label mate, SZA. As for the first two, they’ve stayed quite mute on the subject, as they seem to have conflicting loyalties to Drizzy and to the Metro Boomin/Future camp. However, Solana seemed to respond to the 6ix God mentioning her in this song in a way that many fans think indicates that she’s not here for the back-and-forth.

Moreover, SZA posted a clip of NeNe Leakes of The Real Housewives Of Atlanta fame on her Instagram Story on Saturday evening (April 13). “Now, why am I in it?” NeNe says in the short video. “See how I get thrown into stuff? I ain’t even did nothing.” Of course, this was a hard post to interpret in any other way other than a response to her popping up in the Drake diss. It’s also puts the superstar in a bit of a complicated situation, as she just collaborated with Aubrey on two tracks off of his For All The Dogs album in October of last year.

Still, a lot of folks think that this collaboration doesn’t mean that SZA will switch sides on Kendrick Lamar easily. While there’s really not enough info or context to assume whether or not she will pick Drake’s side her or if she’s definitively standing by the Compton lyricist, we can at least assume based on this clip that she doesn’t really want any part of it, as she might be too busy dealing with Lana leaks. Maybe this bar sought to uplift these artists and to let them know that they have OVO’s backing, but maybe they don’t want this random involvement in the first place.

Meanwhile, others in the rap game were quick to seemingly address their mentions in this diss, with Rick Ross outright replying in diss track form within mere hours since the leak dropped. Do you think there will be more to come or will folks take a stance closer to what the St. Louis native is doing here? In any case, hit the comments section down below with your thoughts on all this. Rick Ross Responds To Drake: Listen To His Diss Track

Rick Ross wasted zero time in crafting a response to the shots Drake sent his way in his leaked diss track addressing Kendrick Lamar, Future, and many more. Moreover, he apparently put it all together in a couple of hours and sent it to DJ Akademiks to premiere on his livestream. Apparently titled “Champagne Problems,” it samples Drizzy calling Rozay his favorite person to rap with, and has some regular spoken-word remarks in addition to the actual bars. He claims that the 6ix God got a nose job and that he sent a cease and desist to French Montana, which is why the Maybach Music Group mogul unfollowed him on social media. As for the bars themselves, here’s an example: “Flow is copy & paste, Weezy gave you the juice / Another white boy at the park that wanna hang with the crew.”

Furthermore, a lot of folks are reacting wildly to this online, and giving their takes about what they think of it. We’ve included embeds to portions of the track down below so you can make that judgement call for yourself. Despite Drake and Rick Ross having so many collabs and riding for each other at seemingly every turn, it looks like things soured quickly. There are some other attacks and subs here and there, but a lot of the diss is also coated in The Biggest Boss’ trademark luxury raps.

Rick Ross’ Drake Response Diss: Listen (In Part)

Elsewhere, nobody’s yet to clap back at Drake’s leaked diss at press time other than Rick Ross, but folks have been subliminally responding… at least, that’s what fans think. Overall, this is a narrative that will likely persist for not just months, but maybe years to come, as now everyone’s going to be looking for subs and beef no matter what. It’s almost like this is all fabricated to make everyone a little more money, but that’s a cynical and decidedly un-hip-hop take that we’d rather not entertain any further.
