NBA YoungBoy Seemingly Responds To Trap Lore Ross In New Song

NBA YoungBoy is an artist who has been through a lot over the course of his young career. Although he is extremely famous, he is someone who is largely blackballed by the mainstream. Regardless of how many units he sells or how many views he gets, there seems to be an anti-YoungBoy agenda. However, the artist is still doing his own thing and his fans love him for it. No matter who gets in his way, he provides some great music that is always going to get some love from the die-hards.

If you have been paying attention to YoungBoy as of late, you know that he was recently the subject of a Trap Lore Ross documentary. The YouTuber has made documentaries on various artists in the past. Many of these videos are very long and consist of reports about an artist’s alleged gang affiliation and alleged crimes. The video about YoungBoy is called YoungBoy: Real Killer or Fake Gangster? and has already amassed millions of views.

NBA YoungBoy Delivers New Track

Today, YoungBoy dropped a brand-new song simply called “Testimony.” In this new track, YoungBoy has a lot on his mind. However, as fans pointed out, there is one bar that seems to suggest he is addressing Trap Lore Ross and his documentary. “Real gangstar or a fake killer? tell em “fuck with us,” YoungBoy raps on the song. Overall, it is a pretty subtle bar, however, it does feel like a direct addressing of the situation.

The Trap Lore Ross Doc

When Trap Lore Ross came out with his King Von documentary, there was understandably a lot of controversy. In fact, Ross accused King Von of even being a serial killer. Of course, this situation is much different as YoungBoy is around to address what was said. Only time will tell whether or not Trap Lore Ross decides to speak on these bars. Let us know your thoughts on all of this, in the comments section below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for more news and updates from around the music world.

Nipsey Hussle’s Murder Is The Subject Of A New True Crime Docuseries

A new season of the Tubi original series Behind The Crime premiered earlier this week. The new episodes will take a look at the story of Nipsey Hussle, who was murdered in 2019. According to HipHopDX, while it will focus in part on his murder it also promises to cover “the murder trial, story, and case of rap icon and street legend Nipsey Hussle.” The show itself promises that it “dives deep into the inner workings of the justice system with gripping cases that give viewers unfiltered access with real case footage.”

Nipsey’s killer received his prison sentence earlier this year. Eric Holder Jr. was sentenced to serve 60 years to life in prison by an LA judge. As the story goes, Holder and Nipsey were engaged in an argument outside the rapper’s clothing store. Witnesses testified that the argument began when Nipsey accused Holder of being a snitch. Shortly afterward Holder returned with two weapons which he used to shoot and kill the rapper. Watch the trailer for the documentary series below.

Nipsey Hussle’s Murder Central To New True Crime Show

Even though it’s been 4 years since his murder, custody of Nipsey’s daughter is still being contested. She had been under the control of his family ever since his murder, but last year her birth mother began to make legal challenges for her custody. Most recently, a lawyer representing the underage daughter claimed that she, and by extension her mother, were in procession of an illegal recording of a conversation between her and her legal team.

Despite that claim, a judge recently ruled in the mother’s favor. They handed down a ruling clarifying that she wouldn’t have to turn over the recording in court as the custody hearing carries on. Each side of the custody battle has accused the other of being unfit to take care of Nipsey’s daughter. What do you think of Nipsey Hussle’s story being turned into a new documentary series? Let us know in the comment section below.

NBA YoungBoy Fans Allegedly Threaten Trap Lore Ross Over Upcoming Documentary

NBA YoungBoy fans allegedly flooded Trap Lore Ross’ social media DMs with death threats after the YouTuber teased an upcoming video on the rapper’s upbringing in Baton Rouge. Taking to his Instagram Story, over the weekend, Ross revealed the backlash with which he’s been dealing.

“1 Picture and my DMS are a warzone. Grown adults Sending death threats over content they haven’t even seen. Wait and see what I actually have to say on the topic,” he wrote in the post. Trap Lore Ross is perhaps best known for his highly controversial documentary, King Von: Rap’s First Serial Killer. Documentary About Megan Thee Stallion And Tory Lanez Dropping Next Week

Life moves fast but gossip documentarians move faster. Discovery+ has announced that they will be releasing a documentary about the Megan Thee Stallion/Tory Lanez case on September 4. This comes less than a month after the case wrapped up, with Lanez receiving a 10-year prison sentence for shooting MTS in 2020. Discovery+ is Warner Bros’ documentary and “factual programming” streaming service. It serves as a sister service to Max.

Based on the trailer, the documentary is going to be less about the case itself and more about the feud and culture war surrounding it. “You’re either Team Megan or Team Tory,” a testimonial says early in the trailer. Meanwhile, the case is called the “biggest trial since O.J.” Furthermore, the documentary is marketed as being “two films, two sides” which implies that they are going to give both sides of the feud equal weighting. The film is called Megan The Stallion vs. Tory Lanez: Five Shots.

Tory Lanez Case Continues To Unfold

The release of the documentary coincides with the next major step in Lanez’s case. On September 5, a day after the documentary premieres, Lanez will be back in court. The court will hear a motion as to whether to accept an appeal of Lanez’s sentence and, if so, whether he should receive bail during that appeal. It’s unclear which way the court will lean on that ruling.

Meanwhile, Lanez has also reportedly wed behind bars. According to court documents, Lanez’s motion lists him as married. Previously, documents relating to his sentencing hearing had listed him as being engaged. That has now seemingly changed. The woman in question is Raina Chassagne, with whom Lanez shares a six-year-old child. The motion, which also says Lanez would relocate to Florida if receiving bail, appears to be working hard to prove that Lanez is not a flight risk, nor a danger to MTS. This is a developing story and we’ll have any details as they emerge.

A New Lil Nas X Documentary Will Follows The Star On His First World Tour

Lil Nas X has been somewhat quiet recently. His debut studio album MONTERO became a critical darling in 2021 and spawned three massive hits with “Industry Baby,” “Montero,” and “That’s What I Want.” In 2022 he teamed up with the game League Of Legends to release a new single in collaboration with the game’s world championships. “STAR WALKIN’” wasn’t an instant success but became a sleeper hit that stuck around on the charts until early 2023. Much of the reason for his quiet social media presence and lack of new music has been that Lil Nas has been touring extensively. Now, a new documentary will take fans behind the scenes of that tour.

Lil Nas X: Long Live Montero was announced by the rapper earlier today. The film is directed by Carlos Lopez Estrada and Zac Manuel and will make its debut soon. The documentary will make its debut at the Toronto International Film Festival which starts on September 7. A press release says that the film will follow “an artist on tour navigating identity, family, expectations and acceptance, all while reflecting on his place within the legacy of Black, queer performers.”

“Lil Nas X: Long Live Montero” Is Coming Soon

Lil Nas X has had an eventful year on tour. During a performance at Lollapalooza Stockholm, there was a bit of a viral moment. Lil Nas hilariously stopped the show when a fan threw something pretty nsfw onto the stage during his set. A month before that happened, tech issues slowed down his performance at Governors Ball. The rapper admitted that he didn’t want to perform following the ongoing issues, but he did anyway.

Lil Nas X currently owns the record for the longest-running number-one hit of all time on the Hot 100 for his song “Old Town Road.” Recently, Morgan Wallen’s mega-hit “Last Night” has rocketed all the way up to second on the all-time list. If it lasts a few more weeks at the top spot the song could potentially challenge Lil Nas’ record. What do you think of the newly announced documentary following Lil Nas X on tour? HBO Max Drops Documentary On Kanye West & Kim Kardashian’s Divorce

As if Kanye West and Kim Kardashian’s divorce wasn’t enough of a pop culture gossip rabbit hole, now we have a documentary to add to that firestorm. Moreover, HBO Max just dropped a two-part documentary series on it called “Kim vs. Kanye: The Divorce.” Fans’ reaction was swift, unfiltered, somewhat shocked, and easily summarized by one question: Who on Earth asked for this? Furthermore, each part seems to focus on a different side of the legal battle, which people took certain issue with. Whoever they “support” in that debacle will get the short end of the stick, they believe, and thus probably won’t tune in.

In addition, at least from the looks of it, it’s not like this is an in-depth view on both parties. Kim and Kanye don’t seem to appear in it, nor do any people close to their past relationship. Instead, it’s a bunch of talking heads in the trailers that represented them in the divorce, from what advertisements indicate. As such, many questioned why this documentary was made in the first place. Maybe it’s for the money and engagement (well, that’s obviously a big factor), or perhaps they just unearthed some truly staggering information on it.

“Kim Vs. Kanye: The Divorce” Trailer

Still, both Kim and Kanye are moving on with their lives in their own ways, so revisiting this seems voyeuristic at best and exploitative at worst. Sure, it’s not like the path post-divorce was clean at all, but even that was a long time ago in Internet time. After all, the Chicago rapper married someone else, and the SKIMS mogul moved on with her dating life, her co-parented family (as did Ye), and beyond. Things have been far from perfect, but another media spectacle on them surely won’t help them at all.

Meanwhile, it will be interesting to see whether people hate-watch this or if it genuinely gives some compelling insight. In any case, it seems like discussion around the documentary itself will overtake discourse on the actual divorce these days. Most likely, though, it will be a small piece of a much larger puzzle that will stay in people’s minds more. On that note, check back in with HNHH for the latest news and updates on Kim Kardashian and Kanye West.

Summer Walker With A Live Orchestra

Paramount+ Announces “MIXTAPE” Documentary With Lil Wayne, A$AP Rocky & More

There’s an age-old question that pops up whenever a rap newcomer first comes across something like Lil Wayne’s No Ceiling projects: what’s the difference between an album and a mixtape? Moreover, there are many metrics that people might use to distinguish them: quality control, recording process, release methods, etc. A common thread across these discussions, though, is the vitality and importance of the mixtape to the hip-hop genre. Furthermore, these projects are often uninhibited, sometimes obscured by the passage of time, but forever influential and freeing for artists- if done well. Whatever era of hip-hop you look at, at least a good handful (if not a treasure trove) of killer mixtapes awaits.

However, the same era they thrived in is no longer what we see in the music landscape. Speaking of No Ceilings, Weezy himself said that it would be more difficult and less alluring to drop a mixtape in today’s day and age, what with sample clearances, overloaded release schedules, and so on. With all this history in mind, Paramount+ is taking a deep dive into the importance of the medium with the documentary MIXTAPE. Premiering exclusively on the streaming service on August 1 in the U.S. and Canada and on August 2 in other international markets, the film will explore how mixtapes breathed life into rap music.

Of course, these aren’t exactly the kinds of mixtapes that Tunechi brought us, but rather those from the DJs and tastemakers of hip-hop. MTV Entertainment Studios produced MIXTAPE in association with Def Jam Recordings and a soundtrack will accompany it. Guests in the film include A$AP Rocky, Lil Wayne, DJ Drama, 2 Chainz, Funkmaster Flex, DJ Khaled, Fat Joe, Fabolous, Jadakiss, DJ Green Lantern, DJ Jazzy Joyce, KRS-One, and many more. In a press release, some of the film’s crew members remarked on its importance.

Hip-hop is 50 years old and I can’t think of a better way to celebrate its journey and contextualize its evolution than through the story of the mixtape,” said director Omar Acosta. “Every voice in this film played a critical role, especially the DJs who, as KRS-ONE says beautifully in the film, risked everything to ‘bring us the music.’” “It’s an honor to be involved in this film and to help tell the real story of the mixtape, its origins, its impact, and its on-going relevance for the culture,” producer Tony Touch expressed. Jamie Foxx To Produce Luther Vandross Documentary

Jamie Foxx, who continues to recover from an undisclosed medical emergency suffered in April, has reportedly signed on as a producer for a documentary about Luther Vandross. Foxx will produce through his company Foxxhole Productions. Furthermore, Colin Firth’s Raindog Films will also be involved. The film will be directed by acclaimed documentarian Dawn Porter. Porter’s previous work includes films about anti-abortion TRAP Laws (Trapped, 2016) and former White House photographer Pete Souza (The Way I See It, 2020). Her most recent work was 2021’s Rise Again: Tulsa and the Red Summer. The film followed journalist DeNeen Brown’s investigation into the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre, also known as the Black Wall Street Massacre.

Of course, Vandross himself needs little introduction. The iconic singer and producer was a staple of the music industry for many decades. He had a #1 album in 2003 with Dancing With My Father. Furthermore, he had a #2 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 with “Endless Love”, which he performed alongside Mariah Carey. However, Vandross lived a fascinating life beyond his music. Vandross’ sexuality, for example, was a topic of great debate for many years. He was confirmed to have been gay in 2017 by his close friend Patti LaBelle. However, Vandross sadly passed away from a heart attack at just 54 in 2005.

Foxx Speaks On Vandross’ Legacy

“Luther is one of our G.O.A.T.s,” Foxx said in a statement. “He’s one of the greatest singers in the history of music. It is truly an honor to be a part of the team to help bring this incredible story to the masses.” Porter also spoke on Vandross. “Like so many, I have always loved Luther’s music, but I had no idea of the breadth and scope of his artistry,” said Porter, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “I think people will be surprised at how much he accomplished in his tragically short life. It is a joy to be able to share his true story.”

Foxx has previous links to Vandross as well. Foxx provided vocals for Kanye West and Twista’s 2004 song “Slow Jamz”. Foxx’s chorus directly references Vandross. Furthermore, the song also samples Vandross’ 1981 song “A House Is Not A Home”. The song was one of Vandross’ signatures. However, it itself was actually a cover of a 1964 Dionne Warwick song. However, the documentary is not the only film being made about Vandross’ life. There is also a biopic reportedly in the works, though few details are available about that project.

Notorious B.I.G. Documentary “Understanding Christopher Wallace” In Production At TIME Studios

TIME Studios has announced that a documentary centered on the life of The Notorious B.I.G., Understanding Christopher Wallace, is in the works. The film will look into the life of the legendary rapper from the perspective of his son, Christopher “CJ” Wallace. Jadakiss, Lil Kim, and many more will be making appearances.

The project is directed by Vikram Gandhi. “It’s an honor to document CJ’s personal odyssey to understand his father and to create a deeper and more definitive film about the man behind the persona Notorious BIG, Christopher Wallace,” he said in a press release.

As for the film as a whole, the press release describes it by saying: “As C. J. chases a deeper understanding of his own destiny, his quest uncovers a more holistic portrait of his dad than the world has ever known. C. J. uncovers new revelations behind his father’s life story, discovering unseen personal effects, music, photo, and footage, and asking deep, and difficult questions of the late legend’s confidants, associates, and loved ones – including some of the biggest names in music, culture, fashion and Hip Hop, including his mother, Grammy-award winning singer Faith Evans as well as Jadakiss, Lil Kim, and Lil Cease more.”

A primary theme of the documentary will be that of identity and legacy. “Over the past few years, I realized my personal journey is connected to understanding who Christopher George Latore Wallace was outside of his big rap persona,” said C. J. Wallace. “I am on a journey to fully understand the world he lived in and the massive impact he had on American and Black history and by doing so, I can ensure that I honor his hopes and dreams while I build and create my own legacy for future generations of Wallaces.”

Loren Hammonds, Head of Documentary at TIME Studios, added: “The Notorious B.I.G. had such an immense impact on not only music, but also on popular culture as a whole. But this film is about so much more than that. It’s about fatherhood, loss, and love. It’s incredibly special to be able to let audiences learn about the man behind the myth through C. J.’s eyes, and we’re very proud to play a part in carrying on Christopher Wallace’s inimitable legacy.” There are no further details about the release of Understanding Christopher Wallace, but HotNewHipHop will have updates when more information is available.
