I think many would agree that when NLE Choppa goes ballistic on a track, he is at his absolute best. Well, that is this case tenfold on a new song he and DJ BOOKER just came by with. You can find it on their album fresh off the presses, The Chosen Ones. It is a collaborative album that features seven tracks and zero features.

A fair amount of the songs in the tracklist are handled production-wise by BOOKER. However, this is more of a Choppa track than anything else. “Purge On Em” was the second single ahead of the release. The first was “Mem,” which actually came out in 2022. “Purge On Em” was produced by Pluto Beats and Yokarza.

NLE hits a familiar pocket on this track, however, it is slowed down a bit. As we mentioned, the Memphis rapper is spitting murderously across this one. “All black attire, I cover my tats / And if I see a opp, I’ma slam like Shaq / Last n**** play with the gang, swear to god we left that boy limbs detached.” It is the closer and might be the most well-written song on the LP. One of the best qualities of NLE Choppa is his technical ability. He may not be the most thought-provoking lyricist, but that is not the type of music he makes. The established star Memphis rapper brings head-knocking trap bangers. Out of all of the artists from that city, he is near the top of the heap.

He is bringing some of his patented energetic performances to a new project. For this one, he teamed up with a close buddy of his, DJ BOOKER, for a seven-song offering. The Chosen Ones does not really feature a theme, just tracks that you can catch a vibe from. A song we feel you should be paying attention to is “Mem.”

NLE Choppa And DJ BOOKER Team For A Mini Project “The Chosen Ones”

NLE Choppa is teaming up with an old friend for a little seven-track project. But first, let us take a quick look back at his 2023. The Memphis talent was pretty active, as he worked with some international artists while sticking to his roots. Some of his highlights included the sequel to his debut project Cottonwood.

In terms of tracks that stood out for Choppa, it is quite a long list. One of his hottest collaborations was with French rapper Gambi on “Bonjour.” Of course, you also have the singles “IT’S GETTING HOT,” which was very polarizing. Additionally, he closed out his halo “Shotta Flow” series with the seventh installment.

To start the new year, we mentioned Choppa is working with a familiar face for a short album called The Chosen Ones. That artist is DJ BOOKER. He has been crafting beats since 2016 but has a very minimal discography. BOOKER weaves in and out of different lanes such as dance, electronic, and rap. These two first worked with each other on a 2020 loosie “Ayeee.” Then, they would go on to release the eventual lead single for this tape in 2022 with “Mem.” To match the various production choices Choppa uses multiple cadences that make him sound like someone else.
