Last night fans learned for the first time that Sam Asghari was officially filing for divorce from Britney Spears. The news followed a report that came just a day earlier claiming that a divorce was imminent and it was “only a matter of time.” Now amid the divorce in a time when Spears would normally turn to family, it seems they may not be on the best terms. An insider to the situation recently spoke with Page Six explaining how things have been within the Spears family following the divorce news.

“Her meeting with her mom went OK, but there’s still a lot of hurt there, so they haven’t quite reconciled. Britney is still very angry with Jamie Lynn, too,” the insider explains. The source goes on to say that Spears is “isolated, especially now without Sam.” Thankfully, the source did have some measure of positivity to end their statement with saying Spears “is hanging in there, all things considered.” Spears is yet to make any public comments following the news of the divorce breaking last night.

Sam Asghari Reportedly Files For Divorce From Britney Spears

Sources have claimed that Sam Asghari has filed for divorce after 14 months of marriage to Britney Spears. This comes after a “nuclear” fight in June led to the couple separating. The couple was married in a star-studded wedding in June 2022, an event which came six months after Spears was formally released from her 13-year conservatorship. While things seemed idyllic for the couple, it reportedly came crashing down after Spears accused Asghari of infidelity.

Furthermore, a handful of sources claim not only that Asghari has filed for divorce, but that he will also seek to challenge his prenup. The agreement, that Spears insisted Asghari sign, maintains her assets as “separate property”. However, despite TMZ and PEOPLE reporting these claims, there is some doubt as to their validity. The Associated Press was unable to find Asghari’s court filings, which are supposedly quoted by several gossip outlets. Additionally, TMZ alleges that Spears will likely grant a one-off payment to Asghari before his prenup challenge reaches a courtroom.

At the time of the writing, the rumors are that Britney Spears is getting divorced. However, this information is based on anonymous sources. As mentioned, several news outlets have been unable to find Asghari’s divorce filings in either LA or Ventura Counties. Furthermore, a wave of additional sources have come forward, all with different claims about the situation.

For example, Page Six has a source claiming that Asghari is looking for a hush money payment. According to the outlet’s source, Asghari is “attempting to negotiate concessions beyond his prenup and threatening to go public with extraordinarily embarrassing information about Britney unless he gets paid.” Meanwhile, Pop Base claims that Spears has retained the team that successfully fought her conservatorship to challenge Asghari’s prenup claims. In short, the next few days are going to be full of “anonymous sources” claiming things from both sides. Recently, a source spoke with TMZ, reportedly giving the outlet some inside knowledge about Britney Spears’ marriage. The pop icon only got married to model Sam Asghari a couple months back, but apparently, a split is imminent. The source claims that the couple’s relationship has taken a turn for the worst following a recent argument. Allegedly, Asghari accused Spears of cheating on him, leading to a blowout.

“It’s only a matter of time before Sam files for divorce,” the source told TMZ. At this point, it’s unclear whether or not the cheating rumors are true, but according to the outlet, Asghari believed them. Though it’s surprising that their union seems to have gone south so soon, these aren’t the first reports of trouble in paradise. Earlier this year, various “reliable insiders” told the outlet they had gotten into some pretty ugly altercations. Shockingly, the altercations even allegedly turned physical at times, allegedly. These reports quickly led fans to worry about both Spears and Asghari.

In May, sources told the outlet that the tension between the two had caused Asghari to take time away from their shared residence. The claims raised some concerns among Spears’ fans, amid reports that she had developed an “increasing reliance” on him. Allegedly, however, security personnel had needed to get involved, making it clear they’d benefit from some space from each other.

HBO Max Drops Documentary On Kanye West & Kim Kardashian’s Divorce

As if Kanye West and Kim Kardashian’s divorce wasn’t enough of a pop culture gossip rabbit hole, now we have a documentary to add to that firestorm. Moreover, HBO Max just dropped a two-part documentary series on it called “Kim vs. Kanye: The Divorce.” Fans’ reaction was swift, unfiltered, somewhat shocked, and easily summarized by one question: Who on Earth asked for this? Furthermore, each part seems to focus on a different side of the legal battle, which people took certain issue with. Whoever they “support” in that debacle will get the short end of the stick, they believe, and thus probably won’t tune in.

In addition, at least from the looks of it, it’s not like this is an in-depth view on both parties. Kim and Kanye don’t seem to appear in it, nor do any people close to their past relationship. Instead, it’s a bunch of talking heads in the trailers that represented them in the divorce, from what advertisements indicate. As such, many questioned why this documentary was made in the first place. Maybe it’s for the money and engagement (well, that’s obviously a big factor), or perhaps they just unearthed some truly staggering information on it.

Still, both Kim and Kanye are moving on with their lives in their own ways, so revisiting this seems voyeuristic at best and exploitative at worst. Sure, it’s not like the path post-divorce was clean at all, but even that was a long time ago in Internet time. After all, the Chicago rapper married someone else, and the SKIMS mogul moved on with her dating life, her co-parented family (as did Ye), and beyond. Things have been far from perfect, but another media spectacle on them surely won’t help them at all.

Meanwhile, it will be interesting to see whether people hate-watch this or if it genuinely gives some compelling insight. In any case, it seems like discussion around the documentary itself will overtake discourse on the actual divorce these days. Most likely, though, it will be a small piece of a much larger puzzle that will stay in people’s minds more. Not only that, but the actor vocalized his thoughts and process throughout this process quite strongly, whether on social media or in press conversations. Most recently, he called his relationship with his ex-wife “just a transaction” as their court battle rages on. On that side of things, the Fast & Furious star expressed a will to challenge the judge’s decision to have him pay $650,000 in child support and legal fees to Samantha and her team. During an interview with The Shade Room at the BET Awards on Sunday (June 25), he answered a question about an update concerning his legal stance and where the courtroom’s at right now.

“Well, everything is being appealed,” Tyrese remarked. “Like, everything. You know, I don’t want to get into the legal rabbit hole. But I can just tell y’all to keep it simple. If you argue about the validity of a pre-nuptial agreement, then it’s considered a contested- that’s legal language. If we not arguing about the prenup or the validity of the prenup, it’s non-contested. Nothing to talk about. But if it’s contested, then we’re trying to creatively argue about the validity of this paperwork that we did.

DJ Mustard may be on the line for a pretty penny in child support. Chanel Thierry, Mustard’s former wife, has publicly criticized his substantial income. This was done in an effort to persuade him to pay more child support. In January, Thierry submitted a request to a California judge addressing various matters. The issues were many and varied, including child support, custody, spousal support, attorney’s fees, and the breakdown in communication. She sought joint physical and legal custody of their three children. However, she requested the judge to grant her the authority to make final decisions regarding their children’s health and education. Thierry claimed that co-parenting with Mustard had become increasingly challenging due to his lack of communication. She also mentioned that their former nanny now serves as Mustard’s house manager. According to her, this further hindered effective communication regarding child-related issues.

DJ Mustard initiated the divorce proceedings in May 2022, citing irreconcilable differences. The court documents revealed that he and Chanel Thierry had signed a prenuptial agreement before their wedding in 2020. Mustard recently requested a status judgment to establish his and his ex-wife’s single marital status. Furthermore, he sought to postpone the resolution of issues related to their children to a later date. Additionally, in another filing, he asked the court to retain jurisdiction over all other matters concerning their marriage. These issues included child custody, visitation, child support, and spousal support. He also asked the court to oversee division of assets and liabilities, confirmation of separate property, reimbursement claims, attorney and expert fees, and any other matters deemed appropriate.

DJ Mustard earns quite a bit of money. Unfortunately for him, that means the support requests are larger. Chanel Thierry demanded approximately $82,628 per month in child support. She asserted that her demands were reasonable. There was a pending a forensic evaluation of Mustard’s finances, however. Now, we know just how much the producer makes. Recently obtained documents from RadarOnline confirmed that Mustard’s monthly income amounts to around $623,381. The report stated that the income primarily derives from Mustard’s music recording businesses. It also mentioned advances received as compensation and for expenses such as studio fees. Most notably, Mustard received substantial advances totaling $12,000,000 from Universal Music Group and $7,500,000 from Sony Music. Additionally, he earned nearly $1 million from the music of Ella Mai, who is signed to his 10 Summers label.

In contrast, Chanel Thierry’s monthly income was disclosed to be approximately $3,216. Mustard has currently agreed to pay $18,342 in child support. He has also contributed $25,000 towards attorney fees and $10,000 to his ex-wife’s current counsel. It is alleged that he has also agreed to provide an additional $20,000 to her current counsel.
