Erick The Architect Gives Us New Looks BTS With “The Director’s Cut” Of His Solo Debut LP

One of the three Flatbush Zombies members is not only an architect, but also a director. That rapper we are referring to is Erick the Architect who has just left off The Director’s Cut to his stellar solo debut album, I’ve Never Been Here Before. This project, which was “35 years” in the making, hit streaming platforms in late February and was led by some quality singles such as “2-3 Zone,” “Shook Up,” and more.

However, Erick the Architect didn’t want to stop there with this record. Over the last month, he’s put out two new tracks, “Beverly Drive” and “CA$HMERE TEARS,” to tease this Director’s Cut. To no surprise, both of them were terrific listens. “Beverly Drive” heard him speak on his not so picture-perfect childhood, and how creating music was his paradise. “CA$HMERE TEARS” focuses more on New York and its many changes over the last 30 years and how Erick views them. While the other three Director’s Cut records aren’t as personal, they still shine production, flow, and writing wise. Check out “Denise’s Last Son,” “GRITS,” and “Boxes In My Basement,” below.

G Herbo Enlists Chris Brown, Meek Mill, & Lil Durk For “Big Swerv 2.0”

G Herbo has built a reputation for himself over the last 10 years as one of the main voices of the Chicago drill subgenre. That longevity has certainly paid dividends and bolsters that claim even more. His consistency is also another reason why he deserves that title, as he has had a new project at the ready practically every year. 2024 has been no exception, as he dropped of Big Swerv, a 14-song effort in early September.

The goal was a little bit different for Herbo this time around, focusing more on the pleasures in life rather than its cons. “I want to talk about having fun, I want to talk about traveling the world, and living life, and fashion, and stuff that everybody loves, that everybody can relate to,” he told HipHopDX prior to its release. He succeeded in that regard, and it seems that G Herbo has really been loving this release because he’s adding to it by bringing out Big Swerv 2.0. This deluxe tacks on seven more records, three of which are collaborations. He shows off his more sensitive side with Chris Brown on “Play Your Part.” Then, with the Meek Mill and Lil Durk team-ups, Herbo gets into his introspective and motivational bag that he’s known for. Check out the new additions for yourself with the DSP links.

Victoria Monet Showcases Her Provocative & Lovey Side With The Deluxe Of “JAGUAR II”

It’s been quite a whirlwind of a year for the Sacramento, California raised singer and songwriter Victoria Monet. Just prior to dropping JAGUAR II, her long-awaited follow-up to it’s 2020 counterpart, it felt like she was on the cusp of really breaking out. It’s safe to say that became a reality, as the project went on to take home three GRAMMY awards (Best New Artist, R&B Album, and Engineered Album, Non-Classical). Unfortunately, those major wins have been followed up by painful loss. She has recently been dealing with a painful breakup from boyfriend and father to her daughter, John Gaines.

She expressed her emotions beautifully in a recent statement, saying how it’s essentially been a struggle but not messy by any means. Still, she’s making sure they are both moving on from each other in a healthy manner. Making music for most artist’s is a great way to escape from the stresses, and Victoria Monet dropping the deluxe of JAGUAR II could help her too. It may not be one of the reasons, but it does drop at an opportune time for her. It’s also here because of the incredible success of the original 11-song set. Monet has 10 new songs to share, including some older cuts such as “SOS” with USHER and “We Might Even Be Falling In Love (Duet)” with Bryson Tiller. Both highlight how in tune she is with her sexual and sensual side, as she leans into full erotica and super cuddly moments as well.

Sampha Somehow Makes “Lahai” Even Better With Four New Deluxe Cuts

Sampha doesn’t emerge from his cave very often, but when he does, it’s such a pleasure to witness him out in the wild. Even with his limited catalog, the London multi-hyphenate possesses one of the strongest amongst the rest of the talents in his playing field. Late last year, the feature powerhouse put out his sophomore album Lahai, which focuses a lot on family and big picture questions. He told NME, “I was just wondering about life and big questions, feeling the need to hold onto something or portray a bird’s eye view of my life because I felt like every day was going into every day”. The project certainly sounds as expansive as it’s themes, with sweeping and transformative instrumentals that evoke a sense of wonder and imagination.

We are almost exactly one year removed from it coming out and to help celebrate, Sampha has come through with the deluxe version of Lahai. There are four “new” songs to be had including the previously released “Satellite Business 2.0” featuring fellow UK artist and femcee, Little Simz. If there is a better fully fleshed out version of an interlude, we would like to hear it because this may be the best of its kind. Others include a more “aggressive” version of “Dancing Circles” with a “(2.0)” version, as well as “Re-Entry” and “Sensory Nectar”. Sampha says all of these tracks were either teased at shows and are evolutions of those live performances or are from the vault. Hint: These cuts make it even better.

Skilla Baby Includes Four Extra Cuts On The Deluxe Version Of “The Coldest”

Skilla Baby has been making a lot of noise out of the Detroit rap scene this year. He has really come into his own as of late and it’s given him a much bigger audience. It seems every mainstream MC’s newest tape or single has him on it. He has featured for Latto, Yung Miami, Coi Leray, Rob49, and many more. As a result of these new connections, a lot of them made it onto Skilla’s The Coldest and its brand-new deluxe. The original version of this tape hit streaming platforms with 16 songs on April 26 to some pretty mediocre reviews.

Users on Album Of The Year gave it an overall rating of 54, citing that Skilla Baby has the potential to make some great tracks. However, they felt there were just far too many lackadaisical efforts to rate it any higher. Overall, we share those same sentiments, but the 25-year-old is back to give his die-hards some bonus material. On The Coldest (Deluxe), Skilla Baby has four unheard recordings which feature the likes of Rob49 (again), DaBaby (again), Baby Money, and fellow rising star, BossMan Dlow. Give these new additions a try with the links down below.

Ken Carson Lets “A Great Chaos” Rage On With Seven New Deluxe Cuts

It took just a couple of weeks after the release of A Great Chaos for Ken Carson to start thinking about dropping a deluxe. According to Genius, the Atlanta, Georgia rage rapper teased this possibility at various points from Halloween and through June 8. He mostly did so via Twitter (now X), but also through an IG page dedicated to the album called agreatchaos. From teasing tracks to previewing some deluxe-specific merchandise, Carson was adamant to get this done. Well, today is that day as he had added on seven tracks, with “overseas” being the only single from the bunch.

The fresh titles include “loading”, “more chaos”, “toxic”, “leather jacket”, “mewtwo”, and “ss”. None of them mess up the sequencing, as they are placed after track 18, “i need u”. However, if you are an Apple Music listener, there are actually 28 songs. However, the three extra add-ons are music videos for “Succubus”, “Fighting My Demons”, and “Jennifer’s Body”. All of these additions are out at just the right time for Ken Carson. He will be heading out on a lengthy Chaos World Tour starting on July 8. Orlando, Florida will get the first taste of him live, and Prague will be the last ones to experience the chaos on October 5.

Don Toliver & Lil Uzi Vert Leave Destruction In Their Wake On “Donny Darko”

Just last week, Don Toliver dropped off four new songs from HARDSTONE PYSCHO. However, he did so on his website. If you wanted to listen to the tracks, you had to pay. Well, last night, Toliver came through for the fans and added the four songs to streaming services. Of the four new tracks, the one that has captured our attention is none other than Donny Darko. The reason for this attention is simple, as the track features Lil Uzi Vert.

“Donny Darko” is one of those tracks that strives to get in and out exceptionally fast. The song is just under two minutes long, however, Toliver and Uzi do what they need to do on the track. With BNYX production, the track has a dark undertone to it as Toliver and Uzi give us energetic and melodic flows. Of the four new songs, this is the one that will likely excite fans most. Although “Geeked Up” with Yeat is definitely a worthy contender.

Let us know what you think of this new song from Don Toliver and Lil Uzi Vert, in the comments section down below. Do you believe that this is one of the best songs on the album? How did you feel about HARDSTONE PYSCHO as a whole? Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. We will continue to keep you informed on all of your favorite artists and their upcoming projects.

Don Toliver Drops A Short Film And Releases “HARDSTONE PYSCHO” Deluxe With Lil Uzi Vert And Yeat

Don Toliver just came out with his project Hardstone Pyscho. Overall, this is a project that fans have been loving so far. It is a record with a loose concept around it as Toliver found himself inspired by motorcycle gang culture. Moreover, the album is actually split up in four equal parts. These four song spurts carry forth some unique sounds and aesthetic choices. Once again, the record is a display of Don Toliver and his superstar potential.

Last night, Toliver shocked fans by dropping off a brand-new set of songs. The Hardstone Psycho deluxe project has four new tracks. The final two contain features from the likes of Lil Uzi Vert and Yeat. You can only get these songs through Toliver’s website, so do not expect to find them over on Spotify. Furthermore, Toliver even dropped off a short film, that can also be found on his website. The film presents many of the biker visuals that made the project standout to begin with.

Don Toliver Drops More Hits

Now is as good a time as ever to capitalize on the project’s success. Deluxe albums have become an industry standard over the past few years. In fact, some artists will even drop a whole new album as a deluxe. However, it seems like Toliver is refusing to over-indulge himself here, which you have to appreciate. Hopefully, we get to hear more of these tracks over the summer. For now, it seems like Toliver has a few summer smash’s on this one, and we don’t mean the festival of the same name.

Let us know if you purchased the new songs on Toliver’s website, in the comments section down below. Do you believe that Don Toliver has one of the best albums of the entire year so far? How do you feel about his career in general? Is he one of the best out? Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. We will continue to keep you informed on all of your favorite artists and their upcoming projects.

Lola Brooke Updates “Dennis Daughter” With Four Extra Cuts On The “Deluxe Version”

Lola Brooke is continuing to carve a nice niche for herself in the crowded rap scene of New York. From East Coast, drill, boom bap, and everything in between, it can be easy to get lost in the shuffle. That is especially true if you do not have some quality that makes you recognizable right away. Well, Lola Brooke has plenty of personality and an ear-grabbing voice which is why her album Dennis Daughter (Deluxe Version) has done so well.

But wait. When did she drop a bonus edition for Dennis Daughter. It was just yesterday that the tough as nails femcee tacked on an additional four cuts to the original 12-song tracklist. So far the tracks that have been working for Lola are “You” with Bryson Tiller, “Bend It Ova,” with A Boogie Wit da Hoodie, and “Don’t Play With It” with Latto and Yung Miami.

Listen To Dennis Daughter (Deluxe Version) By Lola Brooke

With all of these tracks from her first project doing so well, why not add more juice to an already fan-favorite body of work? Some of the tracks that bolstered the set of songs were already released. Those include the A Boogie collab, as well as “Becky” with fellow New York drill collective 41. The others include “Neighborhood Hero” and “GO GET YA MOTHA.” So far, we are enjoying “Neighborhood Hero” quite a bit for the animated performance, triumphant beat, and husky flows.

What are your thoughts on Dennis Daughter (Deluxe Version) by Lola Brooke? Is this something that she needed to do to for this project, why or why not? Which new songs are you enjoying the most right now? Which tracks have you been revisiting from the original release? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding Lola Brooke. Finally, stay with us for everything else going on around the music world.

Chris Brown & Bryson Tiller Play Homewrecker On “Run Away”

Chris Brown and Bryson Tiller are two of the most recognizable voices in R&B, especially of the 2010s. Both of them have plenty of hits between each other and have some of the most effortlessly smooth voices. However, their talents do not really meet up on a song. In fact, it has only happened twice in their respective careers.

Over the weekend, the Midwestern balladeers linked up for “Run Away,” a bonus track off Breezy’s 11:11 (Deluxe). The Virginia native dropped the original version of the album back in November of last year with features from Davido, Future, Byron Messia, and more. On top of Bryson Tiller, Brown also tapped guests Lil Wayne, Joyner Lucas, Tee Grizzley, Mario, and Davido once more.

Listen To “Run Away” By Chris Brown & Bryson Tiller

The song that has been gaining the most buzz so far from the deluxe has been “Freak” due to Chris’s shots sent at Quavo. But fans have been gravitating toward “Run Away” due to the sheer firepower on it. Unfortunately, the track is pretty average overall as it really does not sound anything too different from the typical contemporary R&B formula. But we still encourage you to give it a listen and see if you mess with it.

What are your thoughts on “Run Away” by Chris Brown and Bryson Tiller? Is this the best track on 11:11 (Deluxe), why or why not? Where do you rank this collaboration against their past collaboration? Should Bryson and Chris continue to work together? Did the deluxe ruin or make the original better? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding Bryson Tiller and Chris Brown. Finally, stay with us for everything else going on around the music world.

Quotable Lyrics:

We can spend, then get it right back (Oh-oh, yeah, yeah)
Now she just said I wanted all of that, uh
So that’s why I bought her that, uh
I know you rock with me right now (Love you rock with me, rock with me)
You know I can’t stand to be here without (Please stop with the nonsense, uh-uh)
