Wale Joins “The Shop” For Live Episode

The Shop” is hitting the road, and they had a very special hometown guest pull up for a live episode in Washington, DC. None other than Wale emerged on stage and took a seat in the barbershop seat to chop it up about a wide range of topics. In addition, the rapper, Maverick Carter, and Paul Rivera were joined by former NFL star Ed reed for an enlightening conversation. Overall, it seems like everyone both in their seats and in the crowd had a great time, adding yet another episode to “The Shop” and its historic run of great interviews. It doesn’t look like LeBron James was there this time, but hopefully this tour holds some more surprises.

Even though Wale’s family raised in Maryland after they moved there when he was ten years old, the District of Columbia is still proud of him. The 38-year-old was born in Northwest DC in Ward 4, specifically in the Brightwood neighborhood. As such, they gave him a warm welcome as he said hello to his fellow guest and hosts and waved at the crowd. Despite a long career and a steady grind, he remains one of the DMV’s premier voices within contemporary hip-hop, and he always reps the nation’s capital.

Speaking of that longevity and success, it’s something that continues to bear fruit to this day. For example, Waka Flocka Flame’s “No Hands” recently went diamond, which features Roscoe Dash and Wale himself. Just on the strength of that track alone, the trio has party representation for the ages, exemplifying the best parts of early 2010s trap. If you don’t think it aged all that well, you should probably go outside and hit up your nearest bar or club.

Meanwhile, the strength of fan-favorite mixtapes like More About Nothing (which recently hit streaming services) also speaks to the Folarin II artist’s craft. This new live episode of “The Shop” likely discussed these accolades and developments in full. If you want to catch a live taping for yourself, their final show will be in Atlanta next week. D.C. Rapper MoneyMarr Arrested For Trafficking Fentanyl

Authorities recently arrested MoneyMarr, a rapper from the D.C. area, for trafficking one of the deadliest substances in the U.S., fentanyl. According to the Charles County Sheriff’s Office, a multi-agency task force seized 5,000 pills shipped from Los Angeles to Maryland with intent of illegal sale and distribution. Moreover, an investigation into the operation began in November of 2022. Furthermore, pills resembled OxyContin and were set to reach a single-family home in Waldorf. Instead, they led to the indictment of suspects MoneyMarr (real name Marvin Bussie), 20, and Quecealla Turner, 22.

Not only that, but officials charged the pair with conspiracy to import, possess, and distribute a dangerous controlled substance, along with other related charges. Turner received her indictment promptly, but MoneyMarr went on the run until April 4. Then, the U.S. Marshals Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested him in Largo, Maryland. To elaborate, he had an open warrant from the DEA for attempting to ship 12,000 fentanyl pills out of L.A. the previous year. On April 5, authorities ordered MoneyMarr to remain in the Charles County Detention Center without bond.

MoneyMarr Arrested For Trafficking Fentanyl

“Fentanyl is extremely dangerous in the hands of dealers who often disguise what it is,” Sheriff Berry stated. “We are committed to dismantling the networks that traffic dangerous narcotics. We especially want to recognize the partnerships between the assisting law enforcement agencies who helped in the recovery of these dangerous pills. These arrests reflect successful teamwork among local, state and federal agencies.”

“Whenever someone uses the U.S. Mail to send anything illegal or potentially dangerous, Postal Inspectors will find them and bring them to justice,” Damon E. Wood, Inspector in Charge of the Washington Division, expressed. “Fentanyl is killing many of our young people,” added Johnny L. Hughes, U.S. Marshal for the District of Maryland. “Unfortunately, those taking these pills do not realize the consequences. This case demonstrates the commitment and strength of multiple law enforcement agencies working together to arrest those responsible for these crimes.” Moreover, this substance has taken far too many lives without justice. Hopefully authorities can focus on keeping it off the streets and acknowledging that dealers may be thrust into those situations. Regardless, log back into HNHH for the latest on this developing story.

His latest freestyle comes after a few singles that he dropped in recent months. The rapper shared “Strike Sum” last month, just before his “Vulture Island” freestyle. Both singles came weeks after he was released from prison. The rapper was sentenced to a year and a half behind bars due to revocation of a suspended sentence and probation violation at the top of 2022.

Shortly after his release, MMG boss Rick Ross welcomed Trel home on Instagram. However, he didn’t reveal whether they had any new music in the stash.

The last official project Trel dropped was 2019’s 1901. Prior to that, he dropped On The Run. The project boasted 13 songs in total with appearances from Knucklehead, Meatchi, P-Zone, and Derez De’Shon.

Hopefully, a new body of work will arrive soon. For now, check out Fat Trel’s freestyle over Rob49’s “Vulture Island.”

Everytime my youngin’ bring them llamas out, it’s candlelight vigils
Fuck the mayor, keep it player, we ain’t trying to keep it civil
Pull a switch on a glick, I shot Malcolm in the middle
