Draya Michele has been subject to a tremendous amount of criticism in recent months. This is largely due to her controversial relationship with Jalen Green, who’s almost 20 years younger than her. The 39-year-old announced that the two of them are expecting a child together last month, which only added fuel to the fire.

Despite all of the backlash, Michele has been keeping her fans in the loop about her pregnancy, opening up about her struggles, asking for tips from fellow moms, and documenting her growing bump. Recently, however, she took the opportunity to address all the hate she’s been receiving online.

In a series of Instagram Stories shared yesterday, the personality emphasized the pros and cons of using social media and claimed that those using it to spread hate need to stop. “Socia media is used as therapy for those who enjoy sharing their real life stories,” she wrote. “It also seems to be a source of something for the people who comment negativity… Perhaps a release of some sort. But idk. Mean is mean. And as a human race… we gotta do better. People are very mean in the comments… Besides feeling bad to myself… I would never type out my opinions to people. Especially not those just trying to (like i said) survive and make the best of it.”

Clearly, the expecting mother is fed up with all of the relentless scrutiny. Unfortunately, however, it doesn’t look like it’ll come to an end any time soon. Earlier this week, Wiz Khalifa hopped on Instagram to tease his upcoming sequel to his iconic mixtape Kush & Orange Juice, leaving listeners concerned. The rapper shared a clip of himself and some collaborators in the studio working on a track yesterday (April 24). “Mixing and co producing this album has been so much fun,” he captioned his post. “I learned a lot in the process and took myself to levels i didn’t even know i could go. I can’t wait until you guys get to experience how special and amazing this body of work is. #KushandOrangeJuice2.”

While Wiz Khalifa certainly appears eager to unveil his latest project, not all of his fans are looking forwards to it. His comments section has been flooded with users criticizing the song heard in the clip, and begging him not to put it on Kush & Orange Juice 2. Others are urging him to change the project’s title altogether, arguing that he’ll ruin the original mixtape’s legacy with his current sound.

Jermaine Dupri Blasts “Dangerous” AI Kendrick Lamar Diss Track

Jermaine Dupri has never been one to shy away from airing his opinions on new technology, and more specifically, artificial intelligence. That’s why it doesn’t come as too much of a surprise that the North Carolina-born record exec was quick to jump into the debate about the AI-generated Kendrick Lamar diss track that’s been making its rounds online this week. This track was created by a 23-year-old based in LA, Sy The Rapper, who has no connection to Kendrick, Drake, or anyone else involved in their feud.

While the track’s creator admits that he himself thought it would be unconvincing to listeners, he was quickly proven wrong. The song has gotten a ton of online attention, which prompted him to come forward to clarify that it’s fake. According to Dupri, however, it should have never been created in the first place.

Earlier this week, he took to Twitter/X to weigh in on the debacle, claiming that hip-hop is simply no place for antics like this. “This is the d*mbest most irresponsible thing I’ve seen in years,” Dupri replied to Complex‘s story about Sy, How a 23-Year-Old From LA Fooled The Internet With an AI Kendrick Lamar Diss Track. “Hip-hop is too dangerous and Hiphop has always gone against fake sh*t.” Many commenters fully back Dupri’s stance, and think AI-generated tracks using an artist’s likeness is a form of impersonation. Others disagree, and see the fake track as harmless, particularly considering the players involved.

Earlier this month, Keyshia Cole got fans talking when she was spotted leaving a club hand-in-hand with none other than Hunxho. Of course, this led many to believe that the two artists are now an item, though it was unconfirmed at the time. Shortly after the rumors began, however, Keyshia took to social media to address them, making it clear that they’re very much together.

“Mine @hunxho,” she wrote simply, leaving no room for interpretation. Most commenters are happy for the high-profile pair and have been nothing but nice. Unfortunately, others haven’t been so supportive. Since confirming the relationship, Keyshia has received backlash for seemingly bringing Hunxho around her kids, and for no longer being with her ex, Daniel Gibson.

One social media user, for example, left a less-than-kind comment under Keyshia’s aforementioned declaration. “Your kids right behind him , heal and go get boobie back,” the user wrote. Keyshia wasted no time in responding, promptly firing back with some words of her own. “Girl f**k u, my kid is 14. I wish I would go backwards. Y’all crazy asf,” she replied. That was far from the only rude comment Keyshia received, however. Another critic later went on to accuse her of having “daddy issues.” Keyshia made it clear that her relationship with her father is none of their concern, and called out her fanbase for their strange approach to “protecting” her.

During her recent appearance on Shirley Ju’s podcast Shirley’s Temple, the personality revealed which fellow women in the industry she’s enjoying at the moment, and who she’d be willing to sleep with. According to her, the “Deli” artist definitely wouldn’t make the cut, but Tyla has a chance.

“Ew,” she said of Ice Spice. “Let me be quiet…” When asked what she has against the Bronx-born performer, Slaughter said that her onstage antics and music just aren’t her style. “First of all I want her to put her tongue back in her mouth,” she explained. “Must your tongue hang to your chin in every photo? Can we please get some beats that are not Mario Brothers? Can we move past keeping it a stack and grah grah grah grah grah, or whatever the f*ck is going on? I can’t deal.”

She went on to stress the importance of “true” artist development as she was taught by her father, calling for performers to make their shows less predictable. When asked who she is a fan of, she said Tyla, the South African songstress who went viral for her hit “Water” this year. “First of all she’s from South Africa,” she explained, “Second of all she’s drop dead gorgeous. Third she can actually sing.” Slaughter also complimented Tyla on her sense of humor, which she put on display on The Jason Lee Show, and her snatched figure.

SZA may have just taken home three awards at the 2024 Grammys, but according to Moniece Slaughter, it had little to do with her vocal abilities. During a recent appearance on Shirley Ju’s podcast Shirley’s Temple, the acclaimed songwriter addressed her Tweet about “lazy” vocalists, delivering her hot take on the “Snooze” performer and other popular artists.

“To the ‘vocalists,’ who have to lip sync & use live plug ins such as autotune, because your claim to fame was lazy vocals, that were coined by the public, as a, ‘vibe…’ you can’t sing. That is all!” her Tweet, published in February reads. According to her, she wrote it after seeing a clip of SZA performing and hearing lackluster reviews on her live shows.

“I saw a clip of SZA on the internet and I was just like shocked. Because people were in the comments like, ‘I saw her live and she didn’t sound good at all.’ They drug me through the mud at the beginning of her career for saying she’s not a vocalist,” Slaughter explained. “She talked about her social anxiety… Just say ‘I prefer to be in the studio.’ Your team and your label should know that.” She continued, claiming there are far too many artists failing to give their all on and off the stage.

“Everyone’s a lazy f*cking vocalist,” she added. “I’m sorry.” Slaughter later described why she believes consumers are at fault for artists’ decline, noting the demand for their music. “That supply must be met,” she explained. “So these popcorn artists that just pop up on TikTok, they fill that supply. DJ Akademiks Blasts J Cole Over Kendrick Lamar Diss: “Pick Another Angle!”

Today, J Cole dropped off a new album by surprise, Might Delete Later. The unexpected offering includes various high-profile features, but what’s got fans talking the most is its 12th and final track, “7 Minute Drill.” On the song, Cole goes after Kendrick Lamar, plowing through his discography with words for each album.

“I got a phone call that said somebody was dissing… Your first sh*t was classic, your last sh*t was tragic… your 2nd sh*t put n**gas to sleep but they gassed it… Your 3rd sh*t was massive hit that was your prime… I was trailing right behind but I just now hit mine,” he rhymes. Of course, this appears to be a response to Kendrick’s verse on Future and Metro Boomin’s track “Like That,” which went viral for his jabs at Cole and Drake.

DJ Akademiks Isn’t Impressed

As expected, fans and critics alike have been vocal about the diss since it dropped, and DJ Akademiks was one of the first to chime in. According to him, Cole didn’t do much at all and needs to step it up. “Listen, Kendrick’s focused on quality, y’all have done quantity,” he said during a recent stream. “You can’t clown him on the quality when you never focused on it. Pick another angle!” He went on, defending the albums Cole dissed on his song. “Let’s keep it a bean,” he begins. “Good Kid, M.A.A.D City washes your best album and the last four, and that’s Forest Hills Drive. DAMN washes it, and To Pimp A Butterfly is better than anything you’ve ever put out!”
