The Dallas Cowboys (4-7) host the New York Giants (2-9) in their 57th Thanksgiving game at 4:30 p.m. ET on FOX. Dallas boasts a 33-22-1 record on holiday since 1966 and aims to repeat last year’s Thanksgiving victory over New York, a 28-20 win highlighted by Ezekiel Elliott’s 92 rushing yards, CeeDee Lamb’s 106 receiving yards, and Micah Parsons’ two sacks.

Lamb continues to set records, with his 12th career game of at least ten receptions last week, tying Brandon Marshall for the second-most such games in a player’s first five seasons. Only Michael Thomas (18) has more.

Parsons, a dominant force on defense, tied for the fifth-most multi-sack games (13) in a player’s first four seasons in NFL history during Week 12. With a sack in his first three Thanksgiving games, Parsons can join the elite company by recording a sack in four consecutive holiday appearances. Additionally, he could match Hall of Famer Randy White as the only player with at least 1.5 sacks in three Thanksgiving contests since 1982.

The Giants, appearing in their 17th Thanksgiving game (7-6-3), face a tough challenge against a Cowboys team eager to reclaim their footing in the NFC East.

Philadelphia quarterback Jalen Hurts delivered a dominant performance in the Eagles’ 34-6 victory over Dallas, totaling four touchdowns—two passing and two rushing—and a 115.0 passer rating. Hurts’ 10 rushing touchdowns this season make him the first quarterback in NFL history to reach that mark in four consecutive seasons.

Hurts also made history by becoming the first quarterback to record a touchdown pass, a rushing touchdown, and a passer rating of 100 or higher in four consecutive games. This achievement surpasses previous records held by Jim Hart, Jeff Hostetler, and Lamar Jackson, who each managed the feat in three consecutive games.

Hurts is now the sixth quarterback since 1970 to record both a passing and rushing touchdown in four consecutive games in a single season, joining a list that includes Justin Fields, Kyler Murray, Josh Allen, Joshua Dobbs, and Michael Vick.

With his Sunday performance, Hurts solidifies his place in NFL history, further cementing his status as one of the league’s most versatile and dynamic quarterbacks.

Dak Prescott to Miss 6-8 Weeks to Receive Thumb Surgery

Back up the Brinks truck to Dak Prescott’s house.

Owner and general manager Jerry Jones announced Sunday that the Dallas Cowboys and star quarterback Dak Prescott have agreed to a four-year, $240 million contract extension, making him the highest-paid player in NFL history. The deal keeps Prescott in a Cowboys uniform through the 2028 season.

The contract includes $231 million in guaranteed money, the most ever in the league, surpassing Deshaun Watson’s $230 million guaranteed deal with the Cleveland Browns. Prescott’s $60 million average annual value is also the highest in NFL history, eclipsing recent $55 million deals signed by Cincinnati’s Joe Burrow, Green Bay’s Jordan Love, and Jacksonville’s Trevor Lawrence. Prescott’s $80 million signing bonus sets another record, beating Love’s $75 million.

“I know that these numbers are beyond anything that I could have ever imagined,” Jones said.

The landmark deal was finalized just hours before Dallas’ season opener against the Cleveland Browns, following intense negotiations over the weekend, according to ESPN sources.

“There’s a lot of me that thinks [that] I hope Dak is our quarterback for the rest of my time,” Jones said. “And that’s not just limited to the terms of this contract, either. I have a lot of confidence in him. He brings so much to the table. He’s a player that the team follows — that’s big.”

In less than two weeks, the Cowboys secured Prescott as the NFL’s highest-paid quarterback and CeeDee Lamb as the league’s second-highest-paid wide receiver, locking both players in through 2028.

Dak Prescott Under Team Investigation Over Sexual Assault Claims

Local Dallas media is reporting that the Cowboys have opened an investigation into Dak Prescott over allegations that he sexually assaulted a woman in the parking lot of a strip club in 2017. Team representatives would only confirm that they were aware of the allegations and that an investigation was taking place.

However, Prescott has filed a lawsuit, alleging that the woman is attempting to extort $100M from him. Prescott is seeking $1M in damages, which he will donate to a charity that aids sexual violence survivors. The allegations of sexual assault emerged earlier this year. Prescott was served notice by attorneys representing a woman who was accusing him of assault in 2017. “Despite the tragic events, she is willing to forego pursuing criminal charges, along with disclosing this information to the public, in exchange for compensating her for the mental anguish she has suffered. [The woman’s] damages are valued at the sum of $100,000,000.00,” the letter read.

Cowboys Cheerleaders Accuse Packers Players Of “Unsportsmanlike Conduct”

Elsewhere, a Cowboys cheerleader has spoken out over what she called “unsportsmanlike conduct” on the part of the Green Bay Packers. “I have never experienced such disrespect from the other teams’ players to the cheerleaders in my five years as an NFL cheerleader. We would literally be minding our own business and the Packers just scored a touchdown — this is one example. They would come up to us standing on the sidelines minding our own business and start yelling at us,” Darian Lassiter said on TikTok.

Furthermore, Lassiter questioned why cheerleaders were not covered by rules addressing player behavior. “I feel like it’s unsportsmanlike conduct. And it’s so crazy how they can’t do that to the Cowboys players or any other players. But they can do it to the cheerleaders and nothing’s going to happen. I understand the playoffs is a huge deal. While I truly get it, that does not mean your humbleness and respect for women flies out the window.”

Mike McCarthy To Skip NFL Combine For Second Consectutive Year

Mike McCarthy has confirmed that he will not be attending next week’s NFL combine. The embattled Cowboys coach said he would be staying Dallas to finish filling out his coaching staff and changing the Cowboys’ scheme. This marks the second year in a row that McCarthy won’t be on the ground at Lucas Oil Stadium to get an in-person look at the new wave of incoming NFL talent.

Last year, McCarthy traveled to Indianapolis for media availability before returning to Dallas to focus on scheme changes. The Cowboys, as a result, had the league’s highest-scoring offense. However, they also crashed out in the Wild Card round of the playoffs. The Cowboys’ 2023 first-round pick, Mazi Smith, had 13 total tackles on the season.

Is Mike McCarthy Gone After 2024?

However, questions still remain about McCarthy’s future in Dallas. While the Cowboys retained McCarthy for the 2024 season, reports indicate that McCarthy will coach on an expiring contract. This is a common tactic used by Jerry Jones, making his coaches earn an extension from a do-or-die year. McCarthy has coached the Cowboys to a trio of 12-5 seasons but just one playoff win in that same span. In his announcement stating his intent to keep McCarthy on through the end of his contract, Jones cited the former Packers coach’s history of success. However, could Jones’ latest comments mean that he is already looking toward the future?

In a recent interview with Yahoo, Jones hinted that the future of the Cowboys might be Bill Belichick. “I know him personally and I like him. There’s no doubt in my mind we could work together. None,” Jones told Yahoo of his relationship with Belichick. However, Jones also noted that Belichick does not guarantee a championship. “It’s ridiculous to assume that one person automatically assures you a Super Bowl. That’s too high [an] expectation for him. But is he maybe the greatest pro football coach of all time? Could very well be. He is a friend and I like him, and I want to make real clear: I wouldn’t have any problem working with him,” Jones added to Yahoo.

Cowboys Retain Mike McCarthy

Meanwhile, despite the blowout loss to Green Bay, the Cowboys have chosen to retain Mike McCarthy as their head coach. “I believe that the direction, the leadership, everything is in place. And I’m not very comfortable talking about myself, but I came here to win a championship. I didn’t come here to get another contract or anything other than that. I came to Dallas to win a world championship, and that’s why I’m standing here. Buy into us,” McCarthy said in a press conference.

However, the decision makes 2024 an all-or-nothing year for the team. In four years under McCarthy, the team has three playoff appearances but just one playoff win. They have posted three consecutive 12-5 seasons but are still yet to reach the conference championship game for the first time since 1995. While Dak Prescott had a career year and was named Second Team All-Pro, the Cowboys continue to collapse when it matters most. Of course, Stephen A. Smith had a lot to say about the decision as well, going off on a loud rant during First Take.

Seahawks Outline Head Coach Search Mentality

Meanwhile, on the other side of the country, the Seahawks outlined what is driving their head coach search. GM John Schneider has said that team ownership has just one directive for his first-ever head coaching search – keep the team’s “positive culture”. “It’s clear. It’s concise. We want to keep our positive culture, everything that’s been created here. There’s so many special people in this building. It’s amazing to be on the phone with all these agents and the people that are interested in this position and to be able to explain to them, ‘Hey, there’s a foundation here that’s incredible,’” Schneider said in his first comments since Pete Carroll was relieved of heading coaching duties after 14 years. Carrol was transitioned to an “advisor” role last week.

Furthermore, Schneider confirmed a change alluded to by Carroll in is final press conference. Schneider, as GM, will have the final say on personnel hires. Previously, Carroll was responsible for his own staff and reported directly to team owner Jody Allen. “Our setup earlier was … the coaching staff did not fall under my umbrella, and now it will. It’s not necessarily a Jody Allen decision or choosing this person or that person; it’s just a contractual situation,” Schneider noted.

Dolly Parton Praised And Jack Harlow Roasted For NFL Halftime Shows

Dolly Parton and Jack Harlow became a tale of two halftime shows as each performed at one of the NFL’s Thanksgiving games. Harlow kicked off the day with a low-key four-song performance in front of a small igloo during the Packers’ blowout of the Lions. Meanwhile, Parton dressed like a Cowboys cheerleader and covered Queen as Dallas decimated the Commanders. However, as soon as Parton’s Super Bowl-esque show began, people turned to roasting Harlow.

Firstly, no one quite understood the whole igloo thing for Harlow. It would make more sense at the icy Lambeau Field. However, Harlow was performing at the indoor, climate-controlled Ford Field while it was 50 degrees outside in Detroit. Furthermore, there was little to no production value as Harlow performed in front of what one Twitter used called “a set borrowed from a local middle school production of Frozen“.

Dolly Parton Eats, Jack Harlow Burns The Turkey

As mentioned, Parton put on a feast to rival any dinner table in America. Dressed in the iconic Cowboys cheerleader uniform, Dolly Did Dallas. She opened with two of her most-beloved classics – “Jolene” and “9 To 5”. However, she then stunned the crowd by pulling out amazing covers of Queen’s “We Are The Champions” and “We Will Rock You”. We would have loved to have seen Dolly hit “Don’t Stop Me Now” but she still killed both songs.

However, both acts performed at blowout Thanksgiving matchups. The Packers were up 23-6 when Harlow took the stage in Detroit. While Detroit had something of a come back in the second half, they couldn’t do enough to erase the deficit and lost 29-22. Meanwhile, things were even more lopsided in Dallas. The Cowboys dropped 45 points on the Commanders, improving to 8-3 on the season and staying undefeated at home. Elsewhere, Steve Aoki put on a well-received performance during halftime of the late-night game on the West Coast. CMC and the Niners made easy work of the Seahawks to further secure their hold on their division.

George Kittle Hit With $13K Fine For Cowboys T-Shirt

Niners tight end George Kittle has been hit with a fine over $13,000 for a “Fuck Dallas” t-shirt he wore against the Cowboys last weekend. Kittle wore the shirt, which was in the Cowboys’ traditional colors, under his uniform and revealed it during a celebration of a teammate’s touchdown. Furthermore, the shirt was an homage to former Niner Gary Plummer. Plummer wore a similar shirt against the Cowboys during the 1994 playoffs. However, The NFL has been considering a fine throughout the week. The typical fine for a personal message uniform violation is a little over $10,000.

Despite this, Kittle was nonchalant about the proceedings. “Probably to get a fine. I wore a personalized T-shirt, maybe an inappropriate word. So it is what it is. It was a decision I made. If they want to fine me, they fine me,” Kittle said when he was asked what punishment he likely faced for the stunt. Furthermore, Kittle voiced no regrets about the situation. “One hundred percent I’d do it again,” Kittle added.

Kittle, Niners Crusing This Season

The Niners have emerged as one of the best teams in the NFL this season. 5-0, they are just one of the two unbeaten teams left in the league. It’s their first 5-0 start since 2019, when the team started 8-0 before dropping their first game. Furthermore, they have a point differential of +99 and have won all games bar one by double digits. The Niners, who began the season with 8-1 Super Bowl odds, are now title favorites at 7-2.

Meanwhile, Kittle continues to thrive. The tight end has 215 yards and three touchdowns through the first five games of the year. He’s already well on his way to surpass his 2022 stats of 765 yards and 11 touchdowns. This week the Niners take on the 2-2 Browns. The Browns, who enter the game as heavy underdogs, will be without starters Joel Bitonio and DeShaun Watson. David Njoku, who suffered full-face burns just a few weeks ago, is listed as questionable on the most recent injury report.

Cowboys 'Punched in the Mouth' in 42-10 Loss to 49ers

The San Francisco 49ers running all over the Dallas Cowboys is officially the most-watched Sunday Night Football game ever. The Sunday Night Football platform launched on NBC in 2006.

According to Deadline, the 49ers’ 42-10 win over the Cowboys was watched by 24.3 million people on linear TV. That number spiked to 26.3 million when streaming numbers were inserted.

Second place for the week was the CBS national window bringing the Kansas City Chiefs and Minnesota Vikings to a battle that 23 million people watched.

The Sunday Night Football matchup between the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys had all the hype you could ask for in a matchup. As for the result, the Cowboys claim they were “punched in the mouth.”

The Niners won 42-10, with Niners quarterback Brock Purdy once again proving himself behind a four-touchdown effort. Three of Purdy’s passes went to tight end George Kittle.

For the Cowboys, Dak Prescott wasn’t as fortunate. After tossing a beautiful touchdown bomb on the team’s third drive, he would throw interceptions on three consecutive drives. Prescott called the game “humbling.”

“Put everything into it and got punched in the mouth,” Prescott said. “Called it a couple weeks ago humbling against Arizona, but this may be the most humbling I’ve ever been a part of. Felt good about the preparation and felt good about everything, honestly, coming into this game, matchups, and they beat us in every aspect.”

“I don’t foresee a whole lot of winning grades coming out of this performance,” Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy said. “I think the most important thing for all of us, and I expressed it, just be accountable for what you did tonight, how you played. We’ve got to clean our own house up.”
