There’s no doubt that there is a certain level of excitement that comes with attending a Travis Scott concert. They induce rage, mosh pits, and uncontrollable screaming and shouting. With that hype atmosphere comes additional safety risks, though, as people know all too well by now. The effects from the 2021 ASTROWORLD tragedy in Houston are still present today, even though some try to ignore it. Since then, Scott has promised more sound security all around going forward at all of his shows. For the most part, that seems to have been put into place. Sure, mini earthquakes have been caused a couple of times. But from afar, the raging seemed to be controlled more effectively while still maintaining that experience that concertgoers of Scott’s come to expect. Overall, it’s been a win-win for everyone.
However, that run of safety kind of came to an end yesterday just hours before La Flame’s Circus Maximus show in Australia. According to footage acquired across social media from TMZ Hip Hop, fans were acting extremely recklessly. Most of the wild actions seemed to have taken place prior to him hitting the stage, as people were attempting to tear down the steel barricades while waiting in line. Others can even be seen hurling objects at one another.
Travis Scott Ragers Hurl Objects, Rip Down Barricades & More
Then, inside the venue, people were sprinting towards the stage, but security was trying to be as resistant as possible. As you can see above, one kid was repeatedly getting thrown to the ground by one guard. Another would eventually join in and keep the boy pinned down. Police on horseback were also peppered throughout the massive crowds outside of Marvel Stadium to contain the madness. Circus Maximus is now the highest selling rap tour ever (and for good reason). But we do advise anyone going to any of the remaining shows to be extremely cautious and mindful.

Travis Scott and his Circus Maximus tour have broken the record for most ticket sales on a rap tour. Drake originally set the record with 1.3 million tickets sold to his It’s All A Blur Tour in 2023. Scott officially beat that mark on Tuesday, reaching 1.5 million in ticket sales, as reported by Complex. Notably, Drake will likely still have the highest-grossing tour, earning $320.5 million during his run of shows. Current figures are not yet available; however, Scott was only at $154.6 million when he reached 1.2 million tickets, earlier this month.
The feat comes after Scott reflected on opening for The Weeknd for an arena tour in 2015 during his show, last Friday. “This man right here let me open up for two tours when I put out my first album,” he said to the audience after bringing out the Hurry Up Tomorrow singer. “He gave me my first arena tour ever. If it wasn’t for this guy right now, I probably wouldn’t be on this stage right now.”

As for Drake, he also recently got sentimental on stage. Attending a “Nostalgia Party” at a nightclub in Toronto, he reflected on dealing with fake friends and betrayal in the industry. “One thing about Nostalgia, this party here, my real friends are definitely in the building,” he said at the event. “But I’m gonna tell you, you’re gonna come to a point in life where people you thought were friends, or people you thought were close to you, they might switch up, they might try fighting with you, they might stab you in the back, they might do a lot of things to you. You’ll come to that realization. Wherever you’re at in life, you’ve probably been there, and you’ll be there again. That’s how life is. But look, sometimes it’s you and you alone, by yourself. Sometimes it’s you alone with your thoughts.”
As Travis Scott continues to travel the world as part of his Circus Maximus Tour, he’s also continuing to break records along the way. Most recently, his Circus Maximus Tour broke the record for the highest number of tickets sold for a rap tour, selling over 1.5 million tickets since the tour kicked off in 2023.
Scott recently became the first solo rap artist to sell out shows at two major venues: MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ, and SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, CA. He also set a record on another continent, breaking the attendance record for his recent shows at Allianz Stadium in Sydney, Australia, with almost 80,000 people showing up for the two shows last week (the second of which featured a surprise guest appearance by The Weeknd).
While Scott’s tour has broken the record for the most tickets sold for a rap tour, the total profit won’t likely be known until its completion. As of now, the tour has netted about $155 million. For reference, the current highest-grossing rap tours are as follows:
$216m – Drake: It Was All A Blur $111m – Kendrick Lamar: The Big Steppers $105m – 50 Cent: The Final Lap $103m – Drake & Migos: Aubrey & 3 Migos $83m – Travis Scott: Circus Maximus $81m – Drake & Future: Summer Sixteen $79m – Kanye West & Jay Z: Watch The Throne $77m – Kendrick Lamar: DAMN $67m – Nicki Minaj: Pink Friday 2 $64m – Travis Scott: ASTROWORLD $60m – Drake: Would You Like A Tour?
The global tour has seen Scott travel the world performing a spectacle of an event that has largely been met with overwhelmingly positive reception from both fans and music critics. The tour kicked off in October of 2023 in North America and will conclude this month in New Zealand before Scott and his Cactus Jack crew return to the US for ComplexCon in Las Vegas on November 16.
Travis Scott is a superstar. He recently added more dates to his Circus Maximus Tour, which started as just a tour of the United States and United Kingdom but has since developed into a real world tour. He will be in South America and Australia in September and October. On July 23, he was in Milan, Italy, in front of an estimated 80,000 fans. Scott’s November 2023 show at Los Angeles’s SoFi Stadium had an estimated 70,000 attendees, making this show in Milan the highest-attended show of the tour. By extension, it is the highest-attended show of Scott’s music career.
During a performance of “HYAENA,” the opening track from Scott’s latest album Utopia, fans made the ground shake. They were so loud and into the performance that locals thought the ground was shaking because of an earthquake. This is not the first time that’s happened during a Travis Scott concert in Italy. In August 2023, Scott performed at the Circus Maximus in Rome, resulting in locals over there also thinking an earthquake was taking place. Scott’s shows are known for being rambunctious affairs as is. When combined with tens of thousands of some of his biggest fans, it’s easy to see why an earthquake would be the first thought residents had.

The Circus Maximus Tour is part of what has been a yearlong victory lap for Scott. The tour has reportedly grossed nearly $96 million with over a dozen shows remaining. That makes it one of the highest grossing tours for a rapper of all time. “FE!N,” a track from Utopia featuring Playboi Carti has taken on a life of its own. Most recently, WWE used it in promotional material for next year’s WrestleMania 41, a potential theme song for the event. He also played the song fifteen times straight during his stop at Madison Square Garden earlier in the tour, showing its popularity among his fanbase.
Away from music, Travis Scott’s work with Nike continues to be successful as well. He recently debuted a new colorway of his Jumpman Jack sneaker while on stage in Hamburg. Scott’s international fans now have a new bar to clear: can they be louder than Milan was? His tour continues through the end of October, so the next stops will have the opportunity to outdo his Italian fans.

Travis Scott has had a highly successful year. Scott released Utopia last July, The US leg of his Circus Maximus Tour lasted 39 shows. That run included a performance at SoFi Stadium, the largest crowd Scott has ever performed in front of. The European leg of the tour ends on August 4, at the MEO Arena in Lisbon, Portugal. Originally, the last date listed for Scott’s tour was September 13 at the Rock in Rio festival in Rio De Janeiro. However, Scott confirmed that the tour will last longer than that.
In a new Instagram post, Travis Scott announced ten new dates. He’s heading to South America and Australia in September and October. San Juan, Santiago, Mexico City, Brisbane, and Auckland are among the latest destinations on what has developed into an actual world tour for Scott since starting last October. These latest dates, which ends with a performance at Eden Park in Auckland on Halloween, bring the Circus Maximus Tour to 72 total shows over a 12 and a half month-long period.
Travis Scott Adds New Dates To Circus Maximus Tour
The Circus Maximus Tour is the crown jewel of what has been a yearlong victory lap for Scott. Across its first 44 dates, the tour has reportedly grossed nearly $96 million, taking its place among the highest-grossing rap tours of all time with sixteen dates remaining. Utopia was nominated for Best Rap Album at the Grammy Awards, though it lost to Killer Mike’s Michael.
“FE!N,” a track from Utopia featuring Playboi Carti has taken on a life of its own. Most recently, WWE used it in promotional material for next year’s WrestleMania 41, indicating it may be the theme song of the event. Away from music, Travis Scott’s work with Nike continues to be successful as well. He recently debuted a new colorway of his Jumpman Jack sneaker while on stage in Hamburg. 2024 is one of Travis Scott’s most successful years on record. Fans of his around the world will have the chance to see him live for another three months.
Travis Scott has had one heck of a past year as we approach the one-year anniversary of UTOPIA and the album still has legs… a European one, that is. Moreover, new Live Nation and Billboard reports divulged on the profits earned from his first seven shows for his European and U.K. leg of his “Circus Maximus” tour in support of the aforementioned album. Apparently, La Flame averaged earnings of $3.3 million per show and totaled over $23 million (two shows in the Netherlands, one in Poland, one in Switzerland, one in France, one in Belgium, and one in London) across these shows from June 28 to the most recent one at London on July 11.
The city’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium hosted Travis Scott’s reportedly largest headline show to date (the metrics are a bit unclear) with 48,000 and a total gross of $6.6 million. Not only that, but the concert broke the stadium’s record for merchandise sales for any organized event up until this point. As for his North American trek, the combination of 44 shows and 686,000 total tickets sold across all of them resulted in a staggering $95.7 million gross.
The “Circus Maximus” tour is about halfway done in Europe, with Travis Scott continuing the festivities in Cologne, Germany today (Saturday, July 20). Then, he will hit Milan in Italy, two Frankfurt shows in Germany, two Madrid shows in Spain, and three Lisbon shows in Portugal to wrap up the official leg of the tour on August 4. In addition, the Houston MC will play at the Rock In Rio Festival in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil on September 13.
However, one of the most heartening and notable aspects of these tour profits is what Travis Scott and his team made sure to set aside. One euro or pound from every ticket sold during this European trek went, is going, or will go to the Cactus Jack Foundation, Travis’ org for Houston youth. As of writing this article, the Europe and U.K. shows for “Circus Maximus” this year have garnered about $250,000 for the organization. That’s great to hear, and we hope that it motivates the team to make things even better.
On July 16, Travis Scott performed at the Barclays Arena in Hamburg, Germany. The European leg of his Circus Maximus tour started in late June and runs through the first week of August. Scott referred to the concert itself as the “best show ever,” also calling the fans “amazing.” However, he followed that up by saying that he’d “never” go back there, as the airport workers were “weird.”
It’s not confirmed what happened to Scott at the airport, but according to an Instagram user, Scott’s concert was supposed to start at 8PM. However, he landed in Hamburg at 8:46. After the concert, Scott reportedly attempted to fly back to London, but the airport was closed. London is a two-hour flight from Prague, which is the next stop on Scott’s tour. Scott’s team then reportedly attempted to leverage his superstardom into getting a flight out of the city. After a conversation, Scott drove away, and the user claims that he yelled that he wasn’t coming back to Hamburg. The person who made the original posts claims to have a video of the situation but, as of writing, has not posted it.
Despite the brief issues, Travis Scott has had a highly successful year. The US leg of his Circus Maximus Tour lasted 39 shows. That run included a performance at SoFi Stadium, the largest crowd Scott has ever performed in front of. The European leg of the tour ends on August 4, the last date for consecutive shows at MEO Arena in Lisbon, Portugal. However, his last official show of the tour is on September 13, at the Rock in Rio festival in Rio De Janeiro. Hopefully, the rest of Scott’s time in Europe is safe and without additional drama.
Travis Scott has achieved the highest-grossing hip-hop tour of 2024 with his ongoing Circus Maximus run of shows. In a press release sent to HNHH on Monday, his team confirmed that the sold-out 44-date North American run of concerts brought in $95.7M with an attendance of 686k. It also broke several merchandise sale records in various states. Additionally, it led to Scott becoming the first rapper in history to headline a sold-out SoFi Stadium show in Los Angeles.
News of Scott’s success in North America comes as he prepares to embark on a sold-out leg of the tour in Europe over the summer. During the next few months, he’ll be performing in France, the United Kingdom, Germany, and several more countries overseas. The dates will kick off on June 28th in the Netherlands.
Prior to his tour, Scott dropped his fourth studio album, Utopia, featuring collaborations with Drake, Playboi Carti, Beyonce Tthe Weeknd, Young Thug, Kid Cudi, SZA, Future, and James Blake, among many others. It debuted at number one on Billboard 200 chart, earning 496,000 album-equivalent units in its first week.
