Chris Paul’s Dirty Elbow To The Face Goes Viral

Chris Paul is a player who has gotten a ton of criticism over the years. There are a lot of NBA fans out there who actually don’t care for him that much. This is because Paul has delivered some dirty plays. Additionally, he has a reputation for being a bit of a choker in the playoffs.

Subsequently, Paul has been public enemy number one in the NBA this season. The Suns are currently on a bad losing streak, and throughout this time, Paul has been up to his old dirty tricks. One could look at the way he played on Friday and Sunday against the New Orleans Pelicans.

Chris Paul Vs. Jose Alvarado

On Friday, specifically, Paul was getting into it with Alvarado of the Pelicans. In the end, Alvarado got the best of Paul on two separate occasions as the Pelicans won both match-ups. However, it was the first game on Friday which seemingly led to a very dirty play from the veteran point guard.

As you can see in the clip below from yesterday, Paul was running side by side with Alvarado when he decided to throw up an elbow to the chin. It was a very subtle move, although it was a demonstration of how Paul has a reputation of dirty plays. Alvarado was clearly unimpressed by the move, and it led to a bit of a scrum after the final whistle on Friday.

Overall, this is a very bad look for Paul who is supposed to be a respected veteran and leader in the NBA. The Phoenix Suns are starting to build a nasty reputation, and NBA fans are sick of it. At this point, the majority of NBA fans are praying on their downfall.

You can check out the highlights from Sunday’s game below. Zion Williamson picked up 35 points in an overtime win.

The second annual circuit of two Chris Paul HBCU events, the Boost Mobile HBCU Tip-Off and the Boost Mobile HBCU Challenge was announced today by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

Four Historically Black Colleges and Universities will compete in the Boost Mobile HBCU Tip-Off on November 15 and 16 at Mohegan Sun Arena. Clark Atlanta University, Virginia Union University, Johnson C. Smith University, and Xavier University of Louisiana will compete in the two-day double header.

Four HBCUs will compete in the Boost Mobile HBCU Challenge on December 17 and 18 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Norfolk State University, Hampton University, Texas Southern University, and North Carolina A&T State University will compete in the two-day double header.

“Chris Paul has been a committed supporter of HBCUs and has diligently worked to create opportunities for the student-athletes at these institutions,” said John L. Doleva, President and CEO of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. “The Hall of Fame is excited to build on last year’s success, and we look forward to watching both of these tournaments in an exciting two weekends of basketball.”

Paul, a philanthropist and entrepreneur, has long been a supporter of historically black colleges and universities. Paul was a logical fit for Boost Mobile, whose purpose is to deliver inexpensive wireless coverage to all areas. He was just named to President Joe Biden’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities Advisory Board. Why Not Us: North Carolina Central Basketball and Why Not Us: FAMU Football on ESPN+ were executive produced by Paul. In addition, Paul teamed with Harvard Business School to deliver its Entertainment, Media, and Sports program to a number of historically black colleges and universities in order to create a pipeline for students interested in jobs in those fields. He started HBCU voting initiatives to encourage students to vote in the recent election, and he teamed up with Sour Patch Kids and the Thurgood Marshall College Fund to launch The Mischief for Change Scholarship, a college scholarship fund with a $1 million commitment over the next five years for students attending historically black colleges and universities. Paul is a student at Winston-Salem State University, where he is pursuing a degree.

“We are so excited for the second year of our HBCU Challenge. It is great to work with our partners to give these student athletes a national stage they may not otherwise have,” said Paul. “I hope these events gives these players an experience that they’ll remember for the rest of their lives. I sincerely appreciate the collaboration of the Basketball Hall of Fame, Mohegan Sun and MGM. We love Boost Mobile as a partner because of their commitment to HBCU schools and athletes in partnership with this event.”

“At Boost Mobile, we’re always looking to align with individuals and brands that are truly making a difference for under-represented communities. This is an excellent opportunity to celebrate our love for basketball, and aligning with Chris Paul and giving HBCU student-athletes a national stage is something we are proud to a part of,” said Andrea Henderson, vice president of brand marketing, Boost Mobile. “I cannot wait to see the looks on the student-athletes faces when they get the chance to compete on this national stage. That to me will be worth it all.”

The Boost Mobile Tip-Off and the Boost Mobile HBCU Challenge, both hosted by Chris Paul, are two of the Hall of Fame’s collegiate events, which are growing in an effort to promote basketball outside of the museum’s doors. The Chris Paul Family Foundation and the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame cooperated on these two events.

SOURCE SPORTS: Danny Green Bashes Patrick Beverley For Chris Paul Comments

Patrick Beverley has been on a media frenzy tour lately, and it seems he is on an all-out blitz on Chris Paul. While Beverley is talking about his piece, some current NBA players call him out on his nonsense.

On this week’s episode of his “Inside the Green Room” podcast, Philadelphia 76ers veteran Danny Green went in on Beverley for the way and lengths he has gone on to clown Paul.

“People target you too, Pat Bev,” responded Green, per NBC Sports Philly. “You ain’t playing no f–king defense out there. You ain’t stopping Luka. It’s time and time again I see Luka call your a– ‘little man’ and ‘he’s too f–king small’ and go right at you every chance he gets. When you play Luka you’re a cone, too. How would you like that?

“When you’re talking about a Hall of Famer you can critique, but the disrespect I think was taken a little far,” Green added. “I think [Beverley] just used that platform because he has an issue with Chris, and he used it as a personal vendetta to take out a lot of his anger on the set at that moment. I thought it was unfair to Chris, and I’m sure a lot of people felt the same, a lot of guys in the league. I don’t mind certain guys critiquing players, but you’re a role player. To disrespect a Hall of Famer is too far. Calling somebody a cone is disrespectful, bruh. I don’t care.”

Green is usually a quiet individual that goes in and plays his game. For him to make these comments and come to the defense of Paul only suggest how out of bounds, Beverley was to attack Paul.

SOURCE SPORTS: Charles Barkley Shares How He Would Fix Out Of Line Fans From Talking Smack Court-side

CelebritiesWhoWereUninvitedtotheCookoutin

Charles Barkley had some interesting comments on TNT’s Inside The NBA when it comes to dealing with out of line fans.

The conversation came as a response to Chris Paul getting upset that a fan allegedly got physical with his mother. Paul said to the fan, “I’ll see you later.”

Paul shared his frustration by asking the question. “Want to fine players for saying stuff to the fans but the fans can put their hands on our families?”

Barkley explained on his show exactly how he would resolve this situation.

“I’ve always said we could put an end to all this stuff. Some of this stuff these fans say, let’s take it right down to center court for five minutes,” Barkley said. “I’ve always said that. Some of the crap they’ve said to you — just give me five minutes at center court with them and say, ‘You ain’t gonna press no charges, ain’t nobody gonna be sued civilly. Say what you just said to me right here to my face for these five minutes. I’m gonna beat your a– and beat the hell out of you.’”

Fans say the most obnoxious stings because they know nothing physically would happened to them. Maybe Barkley’s plan of action would make the loud one to be quiet and watch the game.

FMGk0NVXMAA8D O

The WNBA has recognized Chris Paul of the Phoenix Suns as the inaugural recipient of the Kobe & Gigi Bryant WNBA Support Award for his substantial contributions to the promotion of girls’ and women’s basketball, as well as advocacy for the WNBA. During Sunday’s game in Cleveland, the WNBA and Vanessa Bryant presented Paul with the honor.

The annual award is given in memory of Kobe Bryant, a long-time supporter of the WNBA and women’s basketball, and his daughter Gianna Bryant (also known as Gigi). Gigi, a happy, loving, and competitive young lady, aspired to follow in her father’s footsteps by playing in the WNBA and helping to elevate women in sports. Gigi adored basketball and longed to be just like her father, who had reached the summit of the sport. Through forging partnerships, mentoring and training high school, college, NBA and WNBA players, coaching Gigi’s youth basketball team, and launching the Mamba Sports Academy, Kobe Bryant has contributed to the advancement of the women’s game at every level.

“I have seen first-hand Chris’ appreciation of the WNBA and the game at every level for women and girls, especially in Phoenix and North Carolina, and his ardent support of our game strongly reflects the legacy of Kobe and Gigi,” said WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert.  “The league is proud to name Chris as the inaugural recipient of the Kobe & Gigi Bryant WNBA Advocacy Award, as he serves as a leader and role model for other professional athletes around growing the future of the game for young girls and all fans.”

Paul has consistently demonstrated a unique level of support for the WNBA and the Phoenix Mercury, attending games throughout the regular season and playoffs while also using his public platforms to highlight WNBA players’ on-court successes and stories, as well as their leadership in the community through their fight for social justice. He can be found demonstrating his support for rookies entering the league and WNBA veterans during WNBA tentpole events like the WNBA Draft and All-Star. He also promotes the game among young girls through camps and the CP3 Basketball Academy, with the goal of enhancing young players’ dreams, disciplines, and life skills through basketball.

Roddy Ricch, Swae Lee, And More Join The Cast Of The Upcoming Movie, ‘Sneaks’

A new animated film about sneaker culture has added some all-star level voice talent, according to Deadline. Sneaks is being produced by Laurence Fishburne, who also has a voice role, and has a star-studded cast featuring the voices of NBA player Chris Paul, Grammy winners Ella Mai and Roddy Ricch, and five-time Grammy nominee Swae Lee. In addition, LA hitmaker Mustard is signed on as the music producer.

The film revolves around a lost pair of sneakers trying to find their “sole mate” in New York City. Mai plays an oxford, Macy Gray plays a stiletto, and Swae Lee plays a “gifted young athlete” as they try to help out and stop a pair of villains, the forger played by Roddy Ricch and an evil collector played by Fishburne. Meanwhile, Chris Paul will voice himself, hosting a sneaker convention. To ensure the authenticity of the sneaker culture seen throughout the film, the legendary Bobbito Garcia serves as an advisor.

Fishburne offered this quote: “Our film will illuminate and pay homage to the forever growing and popular sneaker culture that continues to inspire and be inspired by musicians, athletes, and artists alike, and I’m thrilled by the cast and crew who have decided to join us on the journey.” Mustard said, I really see the music in this film as a crucial part of the storytelling. As the first family animated feature film to be steeped in sneaker culture, I am honored to draw from my expertise as a producer and artist, and my love of sneakers, to create moments that really connect. The added bonus is that this is a film that I’ll be able to enjoy with my family and kids.”
