Chlöe & Chris Brown’s Upcoming Collab Cause Fans To Clash

Another Chlöe track is on the horizon, but her collaborator has caused quite the conversation. Chris Brown is one of the most celebrated Pop and R&B artists on the scene, but his scandals haunt him. Regardless of his hits, classics, global tours, and influence—Brown can’t dodge his years-long allegations of physical abuse against his girlfriends.

This week, Chlöe teased that her next single will arrive on February 24. Breezy also appears in the sultry image and the caption, as Chlöe tagged her collaborator. Initially, the announcement was met with mixed reactions. Many were excited to see these two sing their way into our playlists, while others have been unforgiving.

Some social media users opted to create memes, while others engaged in a debate. Chlöe and Brown’s fans also swiftly came to their defenses. Their talents were further highlighted, and some argued people should move on from the past. It was also mentioned that Brown teamed with several men in the industry who haven’t received the same pushback. His joint album with Young Thug, Slime & B, was a hit, but Thugger wasn’t attacked for linking with Brown. Additionally, he toured with Lil Baby, and the Atlanta rapper wasn’t challenged.

Moreover, Chris was recently asked about his potential participation in a Super Bowl halftime show. Following Rihanna’s epic appearance, fans were quick with questions about Brown revisiting his hits for the NFL stage. He, however, dismissed the possibility. According to the singer, the U.S. media doesn’t support him, so he would rather go where he’s respected.

His sentiments were fueled due to the controversy surrounding his appearance at the American Music Awards. It was further reported that Brown and Ciara were all set for a massive tribute to Michael Jackson. They both shared clips of their rehearsals, and fans were disappointed it didn’t come to fruition. Speculation swirled about why the purported tribute was axed, but many believe that Brown’s reputation among some elite circles still isn’t mended. Check out a few reactions below.

Chlöe’s Second ‘In Pieces’ Single Features A Guest Star That Has Fans Less Than Enthused

For the past several weeks, the anticipation for Chlöe‘s long-awaited debut solo album In Pieces has been approaching a fever pitch. However, the “Pray It Away” singer’s announcement for the album’s “second piece,” a single titled “How Does It Feel,” put a damper on the fervor after fans found out it features an unwanted special guest.

Posting the title and what appears to be a screenshot from an accompanying music video, Chlöe revealed that “How Does It Feel” features controversial R&B singer Chris Brown. Brown, of course, has a notorious reputation for being… well… a bit of a jackass, to put it nicely. Since the big turning point, his 2009 assault of Rihanna, he’s been accused of harassment, battery, sexual assault, and more.

The singer has his defenders — most notably an extremely vocal contingent of online stans rivaling the stringency of the Barbz, Beyhive, and Navy — including Kelly Rowland, but fans still reacted poorly to Chlöe’s announcement.

To be fair, she’s far from the only young singer to employ Brown’s services as a guest singer. In recent years, Danileigh, H.E.R. Sevyn Streeter, and Tinashe have all dueted with him — a testament to his stardom and appeal in the 2000s (formative years for most of the young women who grew up loving his music). Chlöe Bailey was all of 12 when Brown first fell from grace and likely has her own positive personal experiences with him since.

Still, he’s not the most beloved character in the music world, as the reactions to his feature show. More than likely, this will just end up being a hiccup in what will turn out to be a successful rollout. Still, you have to wonder who thought this would be such a good idea.

In Pieces is due this March through Parkwood/Columbia.

Chlöe’s Heart Is On Full Display (And Then Some) In Her Sexy Valentine’s Day Photos

Well, Valentine’s Day has come and gone but at least we have the memories. Among the stars posting about their V-Day plans and boo thangs were plenty who just used the day to get off a few racy fit pics to suit the theme, and you really can’t be mad at them. If you’re going to be single on the most romantic holiday, you might as well look good — and show it off — right?

Chlöe certainly agrees with this philosophy. As fans await the long-anticipated release of the “Pray It Away” singer’s solo debut album In Pieces in March, she remains booked and busy — but not so busy that she can’t whet their internet appetites with her signature steamy photoshoots. And V-Day was no exception; it even offered her a chance to dial up the sex appeal while potentially teasing her potential next single.

Of course, Twitter only allows for up to four photos at a time, and you know Ms. Chlöe wouldn’t settle for such paltry offerings. Over on Instagram, she posted a few extras:

In addition to her debut, fans can look forward to Chlöe headlining the NBA’s All-Star Weekend Road Show on TNT along with Wiz Khalifa, as well as yet another film role in Girl From The North, a musical inspired by the work of Bob Dylan, co-starring Woody Harrelson and Olivia Colman.

Chlöe Declares Single Status In Valentine’s Day Thirst Trap

We’re not sure if you’re celebrating being cuffed up, single, or entertaining a situationship this Valentine’s Day, but Chlöe is showing what she’s working with on the ‘Gram. The R&B singer isn’t a stranger to flexing her curves for her millions of followers. She dropped off a few Valentine’s Day-inspired images that got hearts racing. Chlöe donned an all-pink fit in front of a red background to celebrate the loved-up holiday. However, she clarified that she was flying solo this year.

“I’m my own valentine this year 💕🥰,” she wrote in the caption to her post. It seemingly laid speculation to rest, as her relationship status has been rumored for months. There was a time when people believed she was romantically linked to Gunna, while others thought their pairing was only professional. The two artists were questioned about the gossip surrounding a purported romance, but they gave enigmatic answers.

Meanwhile, Chlöe has been busy expanding her acting career. She also stars in Donald Glover’s new series Swarm, a show reportedly inspired by the BeyHive. Glover said he was fascinated with Beyoncé’s dedicated fanbase, among others. He developed the series about a woman obsessed with a superstar singer. Chlöe portrays the obsessed fan’s sister in the series, marking one of several projects she’s been involved with.

More recently, it was announced that Chlöe would join Anthony Mackie and Martin Lawrence in a new film, Sneaks. The animated, star-studded movie hosts Laurence Fishburne as executive producer and Mustard holding the same title, but for music. According to Variety, other cast members include Roddy Rich, Ella Mai, Swae Lee, Macy Gray, and NBA star Chris Paul.

A Bob Dylan-Inspired Musical Film Starring Chlöe, Woody Harrelson, and Oliva Colman Is On The Way

Halle isn’t the only Bailey sister heading to the big screen. Shortly, “Pray It Away” singer Chlöe will also put her acting chops on full display yet again. Although these days, many music lovers have come to know the duo by their countless musical bops; the pair have quite the star in feature films well before her role on ABC’s Black-ish or Grown-ish.

While her beloved younger sister will lend her vocals to Disney’s underwater princess Ariel in the live adaptation of The Little Mermaid, Chlöe will take a different route. According to The Wrap, the producer will star in Blueprint Pictures’ film Girl from the North Country, an adaptation of the Tony-winning Broadway show.

Known for public displays of admiration for music pioneers like Missy Elliott, maybe that influenced her decision to be a part of the film as the music of legendary songwriter Bob Dylan directly inspired it.

In addition to Chlöe, actors Woody Harrelson, Olivia Colman (The Crown), and Tosin Cole (House Party and Doctor Who: Revolution of the Daleks) have also signed onto the film. Conor McPherson, the author of the book used as an anchor for the Broadway musical, will serve as the film’s writer and director, whereas Blueprint Pictures’ Graham Broadbent and Pete Czernin will serve as producers.

The story will be set in Duluth, Minnesota, during the Great Depression. However, the film will remain faithful to the musical’s plot line is described as “a group of wayward travelers’ lives intersect in a guesthouse filled with music, life, and hope.”

If the film follows in the theater production’s footsteps, the Dylan songs that may be included or worked into the film include “Slow Train,” “True Love Tends to Forget,” and “Girl from the North Country.” So far, the film does not have a release date. However, it has been revealed that CAA Media Finance will represent the film in the domestic market. While Rocket Science will handle the international market, starting with the Berlin Film Festival.

Chlöe Sings Aaliyah’s “One In A Million” For Missy Elliott Grammys Tribute

We’re days away from finding out who takes home the trophies at the Grammys. Los Angeles is already the hub of Hollywood, but it gets even more intense when hosting an award show. Parties, private events, and concerts leading up to the ceremony feature nominees and their equally famous peers. This week, the Grammys hosted the Black Music Collective dinner, where Dr. Dre, Sylvia Rhone, Lil Wayne, and Missy Elliott were honored.

According to Rolling Stone, the event also featured performances from 2 Chainz, Busta Rhymes, Ciara, Snoop Dogg, Tweet, Chlöe, and more. Wayne delivered a moving speech where he said, “I don’t get honored where I’m from.” The Rap icon added, “Where I’m from, In New Orleans, you’re not supposed to do this. We don’t get honored. I don’t know all of y’all tonight. Thank you. I ain’t sh*t without you.”

I know Dre, Wayne, none of us rolled over into success.”

There were additional music performances to honor Missy, including Tweet delivering her Elliott-assisted “Oops (Oh My)” and Ciara giving the crows “1, 2 Step.” Chlöe also sang the late Aaliyah’s classic “One in a Million,” and a clip was shared on social media.

Chlöe And Anitta Were Spotted Filming A Music Video Together In Rio De Janeiro

It looks like there’s a collaboration between Chlöe and Anitta on the way. Over the weekend, Chlöe was spotted filming a music video with the Brazilian superstar in Rio de Janeiro.

In May, Anitta revealed that she shared a group chat with Chlöe and Camila Cabello. In October, Anitta and Chlöe referred to each other as “sisters” in their Instagram stories. Now it looks like their close friendship is leading to a collaboration.

This past week, Anitta was filming a video for a new song in Rio de Janeiro. During the shoot, Anitta was wearing an outfit that read “Furacão 2000,” or “Hurricane 2000,” on her chest and her derrière. The shoot went viral when Anitta was filmed simulating oral sex in one of the video’s scenes. She is known for not being afraid to push buttons and boundaries with her music. Videos and photos later surfaced of Chlöe partying with Anitta at the shoot.

Earlier this month, Anitta said that she was working on a funk carioca, or Brazilian funk, album. This video could be from that upcoming project. DJ Gabriel do Borel, who has worked with Rosalía, was present at the video shoot as well. Rosalía played his Brazilian funk banger “Sento No Bico Da Glock” during her Louis Vuitton set at Paris Fashion Week.

Chlöe Opts To ‘Pray It Away’ In The First Piece From Her Upcoming Debut Album

Ahead of her upcoming solo debut album, In Pieces, Chlöe has shared its lead single, “Pray It Away.”

On the first piece of In Pieces, Chlöe recovers from a broken heart by getting in touch with her spirituality. Initially, she is angry and vengeful over a man who did her dirty. But instead of exacting revenge, she chooses to pray the hurt and the heartache away.

“God knows my heart, I’m wildin’, wildin’ / So close to doin’ somethin’ / Maybe I should go and take it to church / And wash it away,” she sings on the song’s chorus, noting that although she wants this man to hurt, she’s deciding, “I’ma just pray it away.”

In the song’s accompanying visual, directed by Madeline Kate Kann, Chlöe is seen dancing in a historic church in downtown Los Angeles, surrounded by dancers dressed in white.

While we don’t know much else about her upcoming album, Chlöe is promising a soul-baring, unfiltered project.

“I have been the rawest, the most vulnerable, and the most open I have been in my entire life with this album,” said Chlöe in a statement. “I used to believe the way I love so hard without question, was a curse. Only to find out, it’s been my greatest gift all along.”

You can check out the video for “Pray It Away” above.

In Pieces arrives this March via Parkwood and Columbia. You can pre-save it here.
