Offset Hosts Second Annual Toyz 4 The Nawf Christmas Giveaway Event

For those that say the holiday season is all about giving back, Offset’s got you covered. The former Migos rapper has always loved giving back to his community and the holiday season is no different. Last year, he teamed up with the Ann Cephus Family Fund to give back to those in need around Atlanta during the holidays. They gave away toys and clothes while also getting families help setting up affordable internet service. The event was such a big success that they had another even bigger one this year.

The second Toyz 4 The Nawf took place over the weekend and managed to give back to even more families this year. “I want to thank you guys for supporting me on the second year of Toyz 4 the Nawf that I’m doing,” Offset said in an interview at the event. “I’m giving back to my community. I’m trying to inspire the youth and show them that your dreams can come true. And then when you’re blessed, you bless other people.” Check out a video he posted covering the event below.

Offset’s Christmas Giveaway Event

Earlier this year, Offset released his first new album in 4 years Set It Off. The project had some impressive first-week sales numbers which led to it debuting in the top 5 of the Billboard 200. It also had an impressive feature list sporting appearances from Cardi B, Travis Scott, Latto, Future, Don Toliver, Chloe, Young Nudy, and Mango Foo.

While the album as a whole received slightly mixed reviews, fans were very excited about a few songs in particular. “SAY MY GRACE” with Travis Scott and “WORTH IT” with Don Toliver became two of the biggest hits from the album and landed on the Hot 100 in the week following its release. They joined “JEALOUSY,” the Cardi B collab that served as the album’s lead single. What do you think of Offset’s second Toyz 4 The Nawf event? Let us know in the comment section below.

Offset Announces The Second Year Of His “Toys 4 The Nawf” Christmas Toy Drive

Offset is no stranger to giving back, especially when it comes to impoverished families in his native Atlanta. He’s often teaming up with different charities and organizations to execute fundraisers designed to help low-income families around the city. That’s why it’s no surprise that for the second straight year, he’s partnering with the Ann Cephus Family Fund Corporation for a Christmas toy drive.

Last year’s Toys 4 The Nawf drive was a major success. Offset and his collaborators were able to provide support for 248 local families which added up to nearly 500 children. He referenced last year’s success in a statement confirming another drive for 2023. “We had a great turnout last year, and I’m hoping for an even better one this year. I’ve been so blessed this year, I’m excited to bless others. That’s the reason for the season,” the statement reads. This year they have even loftier ambitions, aiming to double the amount of families they help to between 500 and 600. The event is scheduled to take place this Saturday.

Last month, Offset released his new album Set It Off. The project saw him teaming up with numerous high-profile artists for collaborations. Travis Scott, Latto, Cardi B, Future, Chloe, Don Toliver, and Young Nudy all make appearances on the 21-track 60-minute album.

It was met with a pretty fond reception from fans as well and ended up surpassing its initial sales projects. The album sold more than 70k units in its first week which was good enough for a top 5 debut on the Billboard 200. It was the rapper’s first new album since 2019 when he released Father Of 4. It was also the first new album he released since his former Migos partner Takeoff was tragically murdered in November of last year. What do you think of Offset bringing back his Christmas toy drive for another year? Let us know in the comment section below.

Nas Teams With Steve Stoute, & More To Give $500k To Underappreciated Artists

Nas, Steve Stoute, Ben Horowitz, and more have all come together with the Paid In Full Foundation to provide $500,000 to under-recognized artists in hip-hop. They are putting on the first-ever Hip Hop Grandmaster Awards and will give away 100% of the event’s proceeds to this end. They plan to honor Rakim and Scarface with the awards.

“Over the past several decades, Hip Hop music and culture rose from a local niche New York art form into a global phenomenon,” a statement on the Paid in Full Foundation’s website says. “In doing so, it has created countless careers, many fortunes, and, most importantly, gave hope and aspiration to a generation of young people.”

It continues: “Unfortunately, many of the most impactful original artists never received recognition proportional with their exceptional contributions to arts and culture. The Paid in Full Foundation aims to rectify that through its grantmaking program, by both honoring the people who built Hip Hop and enabling them to pursue their creative and intellectual pursuits for the benefit of society.” Steve Stoute recently discussed his efforts with the Paid In Full Foundation during an appearance on the Rap Radar Podcast. “What I wanna do is, all of the artists who [came in] early who signed bad deals or were taken advantage of, that the least we could do is give to them,” Stoute said at the time. “Pay that forward and give to them.” Check out that interview below.

He added, “No one’s ever done this before. No one’s given the people who’ve helped move this industry forward reparations of some sort for what they’ve done but didn’t get back.” Be on the lookout for further updates on the Paid In Full Foundation on HotNewHipHop.

Children’s Ministry Asks Tokyo Toni To “Please Stop” Posing As If She’s Helping Orphans

Recently, Blac Chyna’s mom Tokyo Toni took to social media to show off some charity work she claims to have been doing. She shared a clip of some kids enjoying food she allegedly helped provide, however, the children’s ministry she claims to have helped was quick to call her out. According to an account claiming to be the owner of The Blessed Kids Ministry, Tokyo blocked them on social media. They say that the 51-year-old is no longer helping them, but continues to go online claiming she does.

“Please am the owner of this kids under my orphanage ministry you blocked us but you show people that you help this kids please stop it,” they wrote. They continued, telling others to DM them for more information on the topic. “Sister it pains us when kids have no food yet we see her posting us showing people that she is giving us everything.”

Tokyo Toni Put On Blast By Alleged Children’s Ministry Owner

For obvious reasons, the alleged ministry owner’s claims have gotten social media users talking. It’s unconfirmed whether or not the person claiming to own the children’s ministry is actually who they say they are. Regardless, the situation have proven to be a bad look for the reality star. Some are slamming Tokyo Toni for apparently pretending to help hungry orphans, while others are coming to her defense.

The comments section was also flooded with users joking about Tokyo’s time as a DoorDash driver. She previous claimed she did the gig to help fund her charitable endeavors. “You give when u can or when god places it on your heart to give,” one Instagram commenter writes. “We all know Tokyo Toni isn’t rich so the fact that she even donated to them 1 time shows what kind of heart she has.” Others note that although she shouldn’t feel obligated to donate, she should refrain from posting about it if she hasn’t.

Quavo Makes Massive School Supplies Giveaway Dedicated To Takeoff

In November of last year, former Migos member Takeoff was tragically shot and killed in Houston. In the wake of the tragedy, dozens of artists and celebrities poured out tributes for the influential rapper. Unsurprisingly, nobody has done more than fellow Migos alum and Takeoff’s actual family member Quavo. Earlier this year that reached a new peak. The rapper teamed up with Offset for a Migos reunion at the BET Awards. Despite the surprise, all the focus was on Takeoff as the pair paid tribute to their fallen band member.

Now Quavo has found an entirely new way to pay tribute to Takeoff. According to TMZ, he just hosted the second edition of his “Ultimate Back 2 School Giveaway.” The project gave away tons of school supplies, mainly backpacks, to over 240 families in the Atlanta area who needed them. They were given away as a part of a major event at The Gathering Spot which featured food, games, and even a DJ for the children and families attending. He wasn’t alone either as fellow Atlanta local 6LACK joined him at the event. While there many were wearing commemorative “94” jerseys, paying tribute to Takeoff by donning his birth year.

Quavo was set to release his new album “Rocket Power” earlier this month. A few weeks ago though, he had to push the album back from August 4th to the 18th. While the reasons weren’t specified the project is still expected to be out soon. Earlier today he shared a potential album cover for the project.

Quavo’s new album isn’t the only project coming that he has a hand in. Last month he announced that a posthumous Takeoff album was on the way featuring material the rapper recorded before his death. What do you think of Quavo paying tribute to Takeoff while donating school supplies to kids? Let us know in the comment section below.

Cardi B’s Microphone From Infamous Incident Hits Auction Block

In the aftermath of an intense interaction between Cardi B and an audience member, the microphone-turned-projectile is on eBay. The winner of this now-famous piece of equipment will have a cool backstory to tell their friends. Even better though, the proceeds are being split with two charities. Friendship Circle Las Vegas, which is where Cardi B performed, and the Wounded Warrior Project. The microphone is on eBay’s website for about a week and it currently is sitting at around $50,000.

The man responsible for this great deed is the owner of The Wave in Sin City, Scott Fisher. It is the audio production company that gave Cardi B her equipment. Fisher spoke with TMZ about the unmistakability of the mic. “It was pretty easy to track down the mic after the show because the white tape across the bottom of it says “MAIN.” His company is a large supporter of the nightclub scene in Las Vegas. If someone was looking to purchase this particular microphone, it runs the customer $1,000.

Debacle With A Happy Ending

Cardi B took the stage at Drai’s Nightclub on July 30 in blistering heat. The temperature reached 105 degrees and performing can be obviously very draining. So, it was reported by TMZ and numerous other sources that Cardi was asking fans to cool her off with water and ice during her show. One fan took that a little too aggressively and tossed her drink at the rapper. The fan filed a report for battery, but the situation now has a lighter undertone, with two charities receiving the divided final price of the mic.

The Wounded Warrior Project donates, “simple care and comfort items to the hospital bedsides of the first wounded service members returning home from the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.” The other organization is Friendship Circle Las Vegas. Their mission, “provides a fully-inclusive and non-judgemental environment that nurtures relationships and helps to create lifelong friendships for individuals with disabilities.” Be sure to let us know your thoughts on this whole situation below and stay locked in with HNHH for all the latest news and updates.

Adidas To Donate Yeezy Proceeds To ADL & George Floyd Foundation

Adidas has announced that it will be donating the proceeds from sales of the surplus of Yeezy sneakers to the Anti-Defamation League as well as the Philonise & Keeta Floyd Institute for Social Change. CEO Bjørn Gulden revealed the company’s decision in a press release on Friday. The company has more than $1 billion worth of leftover Yeezy sneakers.

“After careful consideration, we have decided to begin releasing some of the remaining adidas YEEZY products,” Gulden said in a press release. He further explained: “Selling and donating was the preferred option among all organizations and stakeholders we spoke to. We believe this is the best solution as it respects the created designs and produced shoes, it works for our people, resolves an inventory problem, and will have a positive impact in our communities. There is no place in sport or society for hate of any kind and we remain committed to fighting against it.”

“At a time when antisemitism has reached historic levels in the U.S. and is rising globally, we appreciate how adidas turned a negative situation into a very positive outcome,” ADL CEO Jonathan A. Greenblatt added in the statement. “They have shown real thoughtfulness in engaging with community organizations working to combat this pernicious and stubborn hatred. Their leadership, in not only condemning anti-Jewish hate but lending their support for education and other initiatives, is exemplary and a model for other public companies to emulate. We thank them for their ongoing dialogue around their remaining inventory and their vested interest in tackling issues of prejudice and hate.”

The decision comes after Adidas cut off ties with Kanye West. During a Drink Champs interview in October 2022, West falsely claimed that George Floyd died because of fentanyl and not from Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin placing his knee on his neck. He also made antisemitic remarks many times throughout the year.

Jack Harlow Launches His Own Foundation

Jack Harlow wants to give back to the community that raised him. Today, the rapper announced The Jack Harlow Foundation. This comes fresh off of the surprise release of his third studio album, Jackman, last week. He also released a video for the lead single, “They Don’t Love It.” The album is expected to debut at No. 6 on the Billboard 200. According to Chart Data, Jackman looks on track to sell 40,000 equivalent units in its first week.

Given his success, it’s hard to imagine a world where Jack Harlow received pushback from those in power. However, DJ Drama revealed that Harlow faced resistance from the label when he first signed with them. “When I first met Jack I felt his ambition, his want to be one of the ones,” Drama said in an interview. “I remember even from the label they were like, ‘Eh, white rapper?’ And I’m like, ‘Look, it’s not 2001. We’ve had plenty of examples of successful white rappers since Eminem. It can exist in the culture.’” It’s a good think they took a chance on him because Harlow has become a hit making machine.

Jack Harlow has revealed his philanthropic side by announcing the creation of The Jack Harlow Foundation. The charity aims to give back to Harlow’s hometown of Louisville, Kentucky. The foundation will provide support to organizations that work towards improving the city where he grew up. Harlow announced the launch of the foundation with a press release on May 3. In it, he says that the initiative began with donations to four local organizations. “The launch of my foundation is represented by gifts to 4 organizations that I believe are doing the work of making Louisville a better place,” he said. The initial organizations he gave to include Adelante Hispanic Achievers, Centro Latino, Russell: A Place of Promise and Sponsor4Success.

Jack Harlow went on to speak about how much Louisville means to him and why he wants to give back. “Giving back to Louisville represents the dream I have of making a difference. My vision is to make Louisville a better place,” he says. “Know that this is just the start of my philanthropic legacy and I look forward to transforming our community and, as a result, the success and happiness of its citizens.” It seems like Jack has no intention of forgetting where he came from. Quavo Brings J.I.D, Gucci Mane, 2 Chainz & More To 5th Annual Huncho Day

Quavo hosted his 5th annual Huncho Day charity game at Berkmar High School in Lilburn, Georgia on Saturday. The Migos rapper brought out several high-profile guests for the event. As for rappers, J.I.D, Gucci Mane, and 2 Chainz were all in attendance while NFL stars Jalen Ramsey, D’Andre Swift, Patrick Surtain Jr., Xavier McKinney, Marlon Humphrey, and more participated as well. One name notably absent was Quavo’s Migos partner, Offset. The event raised $2 million for The Rocket Foundation in honor of the late rapper Takeoff.

“I look forward to Huncho Day every year because I get together with some of my close friends and come back to the place where it all started for me,” Quavo said in a statement. “This year was extra special as we launched The Rocket Foundation in memory of TakeOff. It was a day where we got to play some football, raise money for the community, and remember Take.”

Team Huncho reportedly took home the win during the football game against Team Ramsey. Quavo won the MVP award for his performance. Ronnie2k served as a host of the event. Afterward, Quavo presented a giant check for $2 million to The Rocket Foundation.

The Rocket Foundation launched in 2022, following the death of Takeoff. A statement on the organization’s website reads, “To honor the life and legacy of Kirsnick Khari Ball (known to many as ‘Takeoff’), The Rocket Foundation has been established to support programs which are saving lives through proven, community-based solutions to prevent gun violence.” Funding received by the charity will be dispersed to three groups: Community Justice Action Fund, H.O.P.E. HUSTLERS, LIVE FREE, and Offenders Alumni Association.

Takeoff was shot and killed outside of a bowling alley in Houston back in November 2022. He was just 28 years old. The shooting reportedly stemmed from an argument over a heated dice game. Two men were arrested following an investigation into the incident.
