Chance The Rapper And Kirsten Corley-Bennett Are Reportedly ‘All Good’ Following That Controversial Twerking Video
Earlier this month, a video of Chance The Rapper at Carnival being twerked on by woman who was not his wife, lifestyle brand owner Kirsten Corley-Bennett, surfaced online. After the video hit the internet, fans theorized that Chance and Kirsten’s marriage may be on the rocks. A post Kirsten shared to Instagram featuring a quote from Maya Angelou about how “most people don’t grow up” added fuel to these rumors.
However, despite the controversy, Chance and Kirsten are said to be doing just fine.
According to TMZ, a rep confirmed to the outlet that the couple is in a good place.
“Everyone has their moments, but they’re all good,” said a rep for Chance to the outlet.
It’s a good thing that fans received this reported confirmation, otherwise, Vic Mensa’s new video for “Swish,” which features Chance, along with G-Eazy, would’ve further fueled the flames. In the video, the rappers are seen alongside twerking women.
This weekend, Chance is celebrating the 10th anniversary of his second mixtape, Acid Rap, which served as a breakthrough for him. In tandem with the anniversary, he announced that he would perform the mixtape in full in a special performance on August 19 at Chicago’s United Center.
Chance the Rapper and His Wife Kirsten ‘All Good’ Following Twerkgate

Vic Mensa, Chance The Rapper, And G-Eazy Tear Up The Town In Their New ‘Swish’ Video
Vic Mensa‘s new song “Swish,” a scorching collaboration with Chance The Rapper and G-Eazy is the talk of the internet. The reunion between the late blog-era rappers is evoking a sense of nostalgia, while providing fresh sounds. Equally as buzzy is the song’s video, which features the three artists making the rounds across Chicago.
In the video, Vic, Chance, and G-Eazy are seen riding motorcycles throughout the city, riding trains with twerking women, and enjoying dinner in Chicago-style diners. At the end of the video is a dedication to sports drifter Jake Rio.
Since the beginning of his career, Vic has been labeled a “conscious rapper,” among the likes of Chance, as well as Kendrick Lamar. “Swish” is a more bouncy, party-ready record than anything he’s done in the past. In an interview with Paper from this past February, Vic revealed that while he doesn’t mind the title, he does find a sense of cognitive dissonance when he makes music outside of the realm.
“I think the place where it becomes sticky is that it’s not the entirety of my being as a person,” said Mensa. “So if I want to make a ratchet-ass song for the strip clubs, I feel very conflicted. Can I even do this? That’s where it becomes conflicting for me.”

Chance The Rapper And Wife “All Good” After Viral Video
Chance the Rapper has been married for four years now. He and his wife, Kirsten Corley, have been together since 2013 and tied the knot after six years of dating. They’ve had some rough patches, including a brief period where they separated and Corley demanded child support from Chance. The couple have two daughters together.
However, Chance got into some hot water recently. He celebrated his 30th birthday on April 16, spending time at Carnival in Jamaica. There, he was caught grinding on a woman who is most definitely not his wife. The footage appears to show Chance joining the tail end of a twerking chain, grinding up on the woman and slapping her ass. It is unknown if his wife was in Jamaica with him at the time. Fans debated the footage endlessly and eagerly awaited the next chapter of the drama.
Chance And Kirsten Reportedly Fine
The couple appeared to trade passive-aggressive Instagram posts. Corley shared an image of Maya Angelou’s The Art of Fiction, highlighting a passage about people failing to grow up. The prevalent part, highlighted by Corley, was “Most people don’t grow up. It’s too damn difficult. What happens is most people get older. That’s the truth of it. They honor their credit cards, they find parking spaces, they marry, they have the nerve to have children, but they don’t grow up. Not really. They get older. But to grow up costs the earth, the earth. It means you take responsibility for the time you take up, for the space you occupy. It’s serious business.” Chance had a cultural reference of his own, sharing a clip from a Bill Burr Netflix special about marriage. The rapper also posted pro-twerking lyrics, seemingly showing his stance on the discourse.
However, things are reportedly fine between the couple. A representative for Chance spoke to TMZ saying simply, “Everyone has their moments, but they’re all good.” So that appears to be the end of the drama. There is not going to be a messy divorce or continued barbs. The couple has seemingly resolved their issues privately and are moving on with their lives. However, if there is more to the story, you can expect to find it here on HotNewHipHop.
