Cam’ron & Mase Theorize Why Kobe Bryant’s Parents Are Auctioning Off Championship Ring

Cam’ron and Mase discussed Kobe Bryant’s parents’ decision to auction off one of the late NBA legend’s championship rings during a recent episode of It Is What It Is. The two spoke with former NFL player Maurice Clarett for the segment and theorized why the couple made the controversial move. The ring appeared on the sports memorabilia site Goldin, earlier this month. It opened with a bid of $30,000 but has since ballooned to $141,000.

“History has shown a little bit that Kobe and his parents weren’t on the best of terms, because of their relationship… I think that could play a part into why they selling the ring… Your family can sometimes do you the worst, it could be worst than what you get in the street,” Mase said on the show.

He also questioned whether Kobe’s wife, Vanessa, is supporting his parents with the estate. Clarett theorized that it may be likely. “Like Mo said, everybody knows Kobe wasn’t f*cking with his parents, because his parents weren’t f*cking with Vanessa,” Cam added. “He met Vanessa at a young age, they told him, ‘You bugging out, you don’t need to get with this girl, you gonna meet 100 girls. He went against his parents, ended up meeting Vanessa, ended up being his wife.” From there, he praised her loyalty: “[She] never got caught cheating. Kobe got caught cheating, and she didn’t leave…She coulda went divorce and got half of it, but she stuck with him.” Check out the full episode of It Is What It Is below.

Simone Biles is easily one of the most impressive athletes ever. Overall, she is incredibly accomplished in the world of gymnastics. She has won numerous Olympic Gold Medals for the United States. Moreover, in other competitions, she usually cleans up. Biles is someone who has proven to be a role model for athletes all around the world. Even when things have gotten difficult, she has stayed the course and has done what is best for her.

For instance, during the Summer Games in Tokyo, Biles withdrew as she felt like she didn’t have it that year. Gymnastics is dangerous and if you have a mental hangup, then you could injure yourself. While some people were very cruel to Biles, she never wavered. Eventually, she came back and started blowing her competition out of the water again. It just goes to show what kind of athlete she is, and how dedicated she is to her craft.

Over the weekend, Biles competed at the U.S. Gymnastics Championships in San Jose. Throughout the weekend, she excelled in pretty well every single competition. Eventually, she won the gold medal thanks to her impeccable overall score. It made for her eighth U.S. Championship, which is, in fact, a record. It was just an incredible performance all around, and fans were in awe. This now poses the question of whether or not Biles will go to the next Olympic Games. However, it doesn’t seem like she has an answer to that right now.

“You know that I told that I don’t want to stay on parade, but I fucking want to stay on parade. This is the best,” Jokic said. “This is amazing.”

Israel Adesanya just regained the title of middleweight champion at UFC 287 in a stellar match against Alex Pereira. Moreover, reactions and assessments of the brawl ran rampant on social media, with many chiming in with their favorite moments and highlights. Even Donald Trump brushed off his indictment to pop out at the event alongside Mike Tyson, Dana White, Kid Rock, and many more. Overall, it was quite the entertaining and masterful display of mixed martial arts from one of the sport’s all-time greats. Previously, the 33-year-old remarked his desires to regain his title from Pereira, which manifested into a victory.

““Pressure makes diamonds, and I’m going to shine,” Israel Adesanya said prior to the match during a press event. Clearly, he had a lot on his shoulders on top of a chip to lose, which hilariously manifested after he knocked Pereira out. Not only did he pretend to shoot arrows at his unconscious opponent, but he pointed at his son in the crowd after knocking his father out. This harkens back to a previous instance during which the kid taunted Adesanya for his loss against his dad.

Twitter’s just never going to be a very nice place, is it? Jordin Sparks recently got clowned on social media for her performance of the national anthem at the Big 12 Championship game. Moreover, many people compared it to Fergie’s infamous national anthem performance during an NBA All-Star Game. However, many also said that Sparks’ rendition wasn’t that bad, as Fergie’s spread like legitimate wildfire online. Still, whether you have an opinion on that, it’s always a bit sad to see so much hate thrown on social media sites for performances like these.

Still, people are entitled to their take, and it probably says something significant if a lot of people did not like your performance. With all that said, it’s not like Sparks is constantly in the public limelight, so hopefully she’s not getting an absurd amount of haters down her throat. In fact, her most recent big story before this performance was that Chris Brown’s abuse of Rihanna caused their collab “No Air” to get snubbed at the Grammys. Given how Brown’s career’s progressed since then, maybe it was best for Sparks to get a little distance.

“Honestly, I think that shouldn’t even be a conversation anymore,” she remarked, defending his history of violence. “It’s about his talent, and they just shouldn’t have canceled the performance. Everybody deserves that.” While her comments obviously didn’t land with people in the most positive way, she does make a point about growth. It’s all about how people move forward from those things, or how they stick by old ways.

Regardless of all that, people still laughed off her rendition of the national anthem. While the singer keeps dropping music on a relatively low-key level, perhaps people remember this instance a little more. Hopefully, the 33-year-old’s fans remind the haters of some of her classics.
