Drake Adds Lil Wayne, Kid Cudi, Rick Ross, And More To The Star-Studded Guest List For ‘Certified Lover Boy’

The world is just hours away from receiving Drake’s highly-anticipated album, Certified Lover Boy. It follows the promotion-heavy week that the Toronto rapper has put up to increase the excitement for the project. It includes “hacking” a SportsCenter broadcast to share the release date for the album as well as revealing its controversial artwork.

Drake also revealed Jay-Z, Young Thug, Future, 21 Savage, Lil Baby, Giveon, Ty Dolla Sign, Lil Durk, Yebba, and Project Pat as guest features on Certified Lover Boy. While the cast is already impressive enough, Drake revealed on Thursday that there are more individuals coming to the party.

Just like he did for the guest features that were revealed on Thursday, Drake used digital billboards from across the country to share the additional features for Certified Lover Boy. Lil Wayne, Kid Cudi, Rick Ross, Masego, and Nigerian singer Tems will also join Drake on his upcoming album. The rapper used shared the news on billboards in all of the additional guests’ hometowns except for Lil Wayne, whose birthplace of New Orleans is currently in the midst of extended power failures due to Hurricane Ida.

You can view the billboards announcing the new guests in the posts above.

Kanye West’s Team Will Reportedly Reignite His Drake Feud If He’s Trashed On ‘Certified Lover Boy’

As Drake fans have noticed, the rapper has been putting up billboards in various cities promoting the impending release of his album Certified Lover Boy. But right after the Certified Lover Boy promo appeared, Kanye put up a number of Donda billboards in Drake’s hometown city of Toronto, seemingly trolling the rapper. But it now seems as though Kanye is waiting for Drake’s album to drop to see if reigniting their beef is worthwhile.

According to a report from TMZ, the Donda rapper’s manager, Bu Thiam, says that things are “cool” between Ye and Drake as of now. But that could all changed depending on the content of Drake’s Certified Lover Boy album. If Drake opts to take some shots at Kanye on any of the songs off his upcoming album, then Ye would “almost certainly” have to reply.

TMZ recently caught up with Thiam at LAX, who spoke to the situation. “Listen, it’s two creatives taking jabs at each other but it did get rectified,” Thiam said. “We’ll see. [Drake’s] album comes out, I think in a couple days, Friday, so depending on what he says on his album. We’ll see.”

Certified Lover Boy officially drops on Friday, and Drake has shared which collaborators are set to appear on the album. So far, the rapper has confirmed features from Jay-Z, Young Thug, Future, 21 Savage, Lil Baby, Giveon, Ty Dolla Sign, Lil Durk, Yebba, and Project Pat.

Fans Think Kanye West Is Trolling Drake With His New ‘Donda’ Billboards In Toronto

Drake and Kanye West have feuded here and there over the years, and now the pair seems to be back at it again. The two recently traded jabs via verses and text screenshots before West posted Drake’s Toronto address on his Instagram. It appears West may be intent on keeping this spat alive, as some speculate that his latest Donda promotional move was intended to add fuel to the fire.

Fans have noticed that giant billboards for Donda, which have a plain white background with the album title in bold black text, have popped up in Toronto. This comes after Drake has been making use of billboards to share apparent Certified Lover Boy lyrics and reveal some of the artists who are featuring on the album. Furthermore, Kanye’s new billboards are in the city’s Yonge-Dundas Square, which is where Drake’s billboards are.

Some think that this is a deliberate jab at Drake:

It’s worth noting, though, that BlogTO likens Yonge-Dundas Square to Toronto’s version of New York City’s Times Square, which would make the bustling area a logical spot for West to push Donda, feud or no feud. The publication also notes that the Donda images are part of a rotation of ads that cycle through the digital billboards and therefore aren’t a constant presence.

So, while it’s possible that this was a calculated anti-Drake move from West, another explanation could be that West and his team simply chose a prominent area in a major North American city to promote the new album.

Drake Reveals Jay-Z, Young Thug, Future, 21 Savage, Lil Baby, And More As Guests On ‘Certified Lover Boy’

After months of delays and an often-irritating waiting game, Drake finally shared the release date for his upcoming album, Certified Lover Boy. The rapper “hacked” a Sportscenter broadcast to reveal September 3 as the official date, then later shared quite the controversial artwork. Now he’s unveiled the guest features for the project in a very creative way.

Drake posted the names of his guests on various billboards. Among those set to appear include Jay-Z, Young Thug, Future, 21 Savage, Lil Baby, Giveon, Ty Dolla Sign, Lil Durk, Yebba, and Project Pat. The billboards for the artists were placed in each one’s respective state. For instance, Jay-Z’s was in New York, Lil Durk’s was in Illinois, both Giveon and Ty Dolla Sign’s were in California, Atlanta played home to Young Thug, Future, 21 Savage, and Lil Baby, while Project Pat and singer Yebba’s were in Memphis .

You can see some examples below:

Lil Durk’s is set to appear on the album’s lead single “Laugh Now, Cry Later,” but it’s possible that he and Drake worked on multiple songs. Just like with the rest of the guests on the album, we’ll have to wait until Friday to find out.

Drake Shows Off What Seem To Be ‘Certified Lover Boy’ Lyrics With Billboards In Toronto

Drake has been teasing Certified Lover Boy over the past year or so, but now he’s locked into album rollout mode. Yesterday, he confirmed that the album is set for release this Friday, September 3. He also shared the cover art, which features a series of pregnant woman emojis, and which (probably by design) caused quite the stir online. Now it looks like he’s teased some of the album’s content with some billboards that have gone up in his Toronto hometown.

The signs show off what appear to be lyrics from the album. The phrases include “I don’t miss… Let alone miss you,” “Should’ve said you loved me today / because tomorrow is a new day,” and “Something other than me has got to give.”

Furthermore, Drake drove around Toronto yesterday handing out CLB merch.

Meanwhile, not long after Drake unveiled the Certified Lover Boy cover art, Lil Nas X came through with a perfect parody, replacing the women’s heads with male heads and claiming it was the album art for his own upcoming album, Montero. Drake also recently had a big assist for a fan in need, as it was reported that he gave a wheelchair-accessible van to the sister of one of his supporters.

Lil Nas X Comes Through With A Perfect Parody Of Drake’s Supposed ‘Certified Lover Boy’ Album Art

This morning, Drake confirmed that his album Certified Lover Boy is set for release on September 3. He did so with an attention-grabbing image, featuring a 4×4 grid of pregnant woman emojis. It appears this image may actually be the album cover, as Ebro Darden has “confirmed” is the case.

Whether or not this image ends up being the actual Certified Lover Boy art, the jokes are already rolling in. Perhaps the best of those, though, has come from Lil Nas X, who decided to parody it by jokingly (probably) revealing his Montero cover art, which looks suspiciously like Drake’s cover. In fact, it’s basically the exact same, except all the female heads have been replaced with male ones.

What’s not a joke is Lil Nas X’s recent accolade: He’s now one of the ten most listened-to artists on Spotify with over 55.4 million monthly listeners. He shared a reaction to that news today, writing, “WOWW THIS IS HISTORY! I LOVE YALL SO MUCH! ‘MONTERO’ THE ALBUM OUT IN 18 DAYS! ITS OUR TIME!”

Meanwhile, he recently wrote of Montero, “creating this album has been therapy for me. i’ve learned to let go of trying to control people’s perception of who i am, what i can do, and where i will be. i’ve realized the only opinion of me that really matters is my own.”

Drake Fans Are Pretty Skeptical About ‘Certified Lover Boy’s Emoji-Laden Cover Art

After months of delays — perhaps prompted by Drake and Kanye’s ongoing feud — Drake’s new album, Certified Lover Boy, officially got a release date when he made the announcement with an emoji-laden Instagram post. However, now fans are feeling skeptical about the album — or at least its ostensible cover art — after Ebro Darden confirmed on Twitter that the picture Drake posted is actually the album’s cover. Of course, Drake’s been roasted over questionable art before, but this picture — which features a grid of pregnant woman emojis in various skin tones and different colored shirts — doesn’t exactly scream “album of the year.”

Fans were quick to drag Drake’s decision to use, as one put it, such an “unserious” picture as his actual album cover. I’m old enough to remember the reaction to his Take Care album cover, which was derided for the exact opposite reason, so maybe this is Drake’s way of telling us this next album will be fun and lighthearted — or at least full of baby-making music that can be appreciated by people of all types. That hasn’t stopped some fans from being convinced that he’s “sabotaging his own rollout” and declaring that it’s “worse than the Donda artwork.” However, as Kanye recently proved with the chaotic release of his own recent release, these are two artists who exist in their own echelon, where rollout won’t matter as much as the music and the communal experience of streaming along with the rest of the word whenever the album drops. Drake Officially Confirms The ‘Certified Lover Boy’ Release Date And It’s Very Soon

Last week, it looked like Drake finally announced the release date for his upcoming album Certified Lover Boy: Some cryptic video popped up on ESPN’s SportsCenter that all but confirmed that the album is set for release this Friday, September 3. Now, the time for speculation is over, as we now know for sure that Certified Lover Boy is indeed set for September 3.

Drake confirmed the news with an Instagram post this morning. The image features a 4-by-4 grid of pregnant woman emojis, in varying skin tones and hair and clothing colors, and he took to the caption to announce the date.

The album has been pretty much ready to go for at least a month now, as Drake noted in July, “Album’s ready… album’s cooked, looking forward to delivering it to you. Certified Lover Boy on the way and that’s for anyone in the way.”

We don’t know much about the album yet, but it appears Lil Baby is set to appear on it. Not only that, but he’s actually going to put effort into his contributions, as he said recently, “I don’t really care what I say on a song, you feel me? I just freestyle. But with Drake, I be trying to think about it. And that’s what makes it harder for me ’cause like, I’m thinking. When I don’t even think, I just rap. So then like, ’cause it’s Drake, I get kind of like, damn… So I gotta make sure.”

Drake Seemingly Announces His ‘Certified Lover Boy’ Release Date By Sneaking It Into ‘SportsCenter’

For months now, fans have wondered just when Drake’s upcoming album, Certified Lover Boy, will be released. While Drake has periodically offered updates on the album’s expected release date, nothing had been set in stone yet… until today. This morning, viewers of ESPN’s flagship program SportsCenter were surprised by the reveal of the album’s release date, which is set for September 3.

The reveal wasn’t a grand affair, but rather, snuck in for a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment. During the show’s introduction, there were brief clips of a sign that read, “CLB September 3.” While there’s nothing here that explicitly says “Certified Lover Boy,” given Drake’s association with and love for the sports world, it seems more than likely that he worked with the worldwide leader in sports on this announcement.

It would make sense that the album would have a release date that’s not too far away, as he said recently that Certified Lover Boy is finished and on the way: “Album’s ready… album’s cooked, looking forward to delivering it to you. Certified Lover Boy on the way and that’s for anyone in the way.” It would seem Kanye West won’t be making an appearance on the album, as he and Drake have revived their feud in recent days.

Drake Reveals ‘Certified Lover Boy’ Is ‘Ready’ And Finally On The Way

The wait for Drake’s highly-anticipated sixth album Certified Lover Boy is nearly over. The Toronto rapper has kept fans waiting for the project’s release for the better part of a year. It was originally set to arrive back in January after Drake shared a nostalgic trailer for the release. It was later delayed as a result of Drake rehabbing from knee surgery for than he expected. While a new date was never announced, many hopped that Certified Lover Boy would arrive by the end of the summer and now, it seems like that will be the case.

Drake hopped on Fri Yiy Friday, a show on Sirius XM’s Sound 42 station which is led by his OVO Sound team, to share a new update about Certified Lover Boy. “Album’s ready… album’s cooked, looking forward to delivering it to you” he told the show’s hosts, OVO Mark and OVO Noel. Drake then took a shot at the competition with his next statement. “Certified Lover Boy on the way and that’s for anyone in the way.”

This comes after Drake revealed the project was in the mixing stage earlier this month. “You know Uncle Drake’s on his way back home to mix the album,” he said on a July 9 edition of the Fri Yiy Friday show. Elsewhere, Drake recently teamed up with Smiley for “Over The Top” before signing on to executive produce a documentary about the experiences of Black hockey players with LeBron James, Maverick Carter, and Adel “Future” Nur
