Eventually, Swift got his number and sent a text. In fact, Swift was very playful in her message noting that Kelce was very lucky to grab her attention. “She told me exactly what was going on and how I got lucky enough to get her to reach out,” he revealed. From their red carpet debut in 2000, the media, as well as the fans around the world, couldn’t get enough. In 2000 and 2001, they were often seen together and shared some iconic fashion moments. For example, their insanely fashionable matching denim looks at the 2001 AMAs are forever etched in our minds. In a 2001 interview with Andi Peters for Rich & Famous, Spears shared that Timberlake asked her out sometime in 1999, while they were on tour. Many fans wholeheartedly hopped on the Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake train, rooting wildly for the pair. Admittedly, what the public could see about their relationship was as cute as cute could get. Surprisingly, however, their relationship came to an unexpected end in March 2002.
Following their break up, Spears and Timberlake both went through varying degrees of heartbreak. In November 2002, Timberlake released the video for his acclaimed song “Cry Me a River,” which he admitted was inspired by Spears. Subsequently, Britney released “Everytime,” a song widely considered to be a response to “Cry Me a River” in 2004. Similarly, on an episode of Primetime, Diane Sawyer pointedly asked Britney Spears what she did that caused Timberlake so much pain and suffering. “I was upset for a while. I think we were both really young, and it was kind of waiting to happen,” she said. She continued by saying she “will always love him, and he’ll always have a special place in my heart.” However, Sawyer pressed further, “He left the impression that you weren’t faithful, that you betrayed the relationship.” To that, Spears responded, “I think everyone has a side of their story to make them feel a certain way. I’m not technically saying he’s wrong, but I’m not technically saying he’s right either.”
The Princess of Pop released her memoir, The Woman In Me, in October 2023, and even before it dropped, the book was already shaking tables. The Woman in Me details much of the superstar’s troubled upbringing and sees her being the most vulnerable she’s ever been. Additionally, the bookcontains some never-before-seen information about Spears’ time with Timberlake. In an excerpt from the memoir, the singer revealed that she became pregnant with Justin’s child at some point in their relationship. Weems’ brother had died in an accident in 1998, and unknown to Monica, her then-boyfriend was dealing with an overwhelming amount of grief. In July 2000, when Monica and Weems paid a visit to the resting place of Weems’ late older brother, the 24-year-old unexpectedly committed suicide. He reportedly locked himself in their car and shot himself fatally.
Monica and C-Murder dated in the early 2000s before things fell apart. The media is not quite certain when exactly they started dating, but it is safe to assume it happened after Weems’ demise. The rapper was convicted in 2003 for the 2002 murder of 16-year-old Steve Thomas at a nightclub in Harvey, Louisiana. The case has been highly controversial, with C-Murder maintaining his innocence throughout the legal proceedings. However, he was sentenced to life in prison and has already served time there for over a decade. Monica and rapper Rocko were in an on-and-off relationship in the early 2000s. However, things got reasonably stable between them after they welcomed their first child in May 2005. Subsequently, the couple got engaged on December 24, 2007, just a few weeks before the arrival of their second child in 2008. Their relationship ended about two years later. On March 11, 2010, Monica revealed via X (formerly Twitter) that she and Rocko were no longer together. In a conversation with VIBE, she shared that she would always have love for him. “When I met him, I was only 19 years old and the good definitely outweighed the bad over the years,” she said. “So we don’t have any hard feelings towards one another.”

Monica met the former NBA player in June 2010 while shooting the music video for her song “Love All Over Me.” The pair quickly developed a romantic relationship and got engaged in October 2010. Soon afterward, they got married in a secret ceremony at their Los Angeles home. The ceremony took place on November 22, 2010, and was followed by a second wedding in July 2011, organized for friends and family to attend.
Monica and Brown have a daughter together named Laiyah, born in September 2013. Summer is almost here and things are heating up for one of this year’s least-expected couples. Earlier this week, pop star Avril Lavigne posted a random photo dump of casual shots including one of her and Tyga looking very cozy together.
The Instagram post was simply captioned “Lyfe Lately” and was followed by a black and orange heart. The photos showed Lavigne with various friends and by herself (in one photo showing off a black g-string). However, the photo that got most tongues wagging was one of her and Tyga in an embrace on an empty stage.
While the “Girlfriend” singer has not directly addressed her relationship with Tyga, the two have been spotted together numerous times over the past few months and Tyga even gifted her a custom chain (reportedly with $80,000). Lavigne is seen wearing the chain in the first photo of the Instagram carousel.
Prior to her surprise relationship with Tyga, Lavigne was engaged to the artist Mod Sun. The two called it quits shortly before her relationship with the “Rack City” singer went public.
