Things got very heated between Canelo Alvarez and Oscar De la Hoya in Vegas. Ahead of Canelo’s boxing match against Jaimie Munguia, the current boxing champ and boxing legend De la Hoya almost came to blows during the press conference. Before Canelo Alvarez’s championship bout, Oscar De La Hoya and Alvarez had to be separated after comments were made that Alvarez did not appreciate. De La Hoya began by throwing direct jabs at Alvarez during his speech at the press conference. Canelo had previously fought under De la Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions organization. Álvarez did not appreciate the barbs and started barking back.
The two boxing icons had previously collaborated for years as fighters and promoters, but their relationship ended badly, and there is still some bad blood between them. Before Canelo’s outburst, De la Hoya said, “There were times my work wasn’t my priority based on my mental health which I neglected for so long but that doesn’t change the fact that Golden Boy built Canelo Alvarez, period.” He doubled down on his assertion, saying, “The company you fought under for decades has always had one name, and it’s mine, so put some f***ing respect on it.”
Canelo Alvarez and Oscar De la Hoya Separated At Oress Conference
Canelo Alvarez shouted out after De la Hoya’s comments saying, “He’s a f***ing asshole. That’s what I say. He’s a f***ing asshole. He tries to get attention for him, not Munguia. He’s a f***ing asshole. He steals [from his] fighters. F***ing p***y. Motherf****r.” The two then had to be separated as Canelo got up from his seat and approached Oscar. Oscar De la Hoya then went back to his seat and sat down as the situation calmed down.
Alvarez is the undisputed super middleweight champion and holds a 60-2-2 record with 39 KOs. he will face off against Jaimie Munguia. Canelo most recently defeated Jermell Charlo in September. Munguía is undefeated and holds a 43-0 record with 34 KOs. It is not going to be an easy fight for Canelo. Munguia is a Golden Boy fighter, making the drama in the ring reflect the drama that has taken place outside of it. Overall, it should be an exciting boxing match.
Jake Paul took aim at Canelo Alvarez after beating Ryan Bourland with a first-round TKO in Puerto Rico. “Hey, Canelo, stop ducking. I know you want it. I’m repping Puerto Rico; you’re repping Mexico. So, it’s Puerto Rico versus Mexico,” Paul said. It’s not the first time that Paul (9-1) has called out Alvarez (60-2-2). However, Canelo told the YouTuber-turned-boxer to “stay in his lane” the last time Paul made such a challenge.
However, Paul’s MVP event in his adopted island home was not all good news. MVP was forced to scrap Amanda Serrano’s Puerto Rican homecoming just minutes before the fight was meant to begin. Serrano was deemed unfit to fight due to an eye injury sustained on Friday. “She wanted to fight, but the doctor didn’t allow her to fight, because of the problem in the left eye. I assume the fight will be rescheduled and we will sanction the fight,” WBO President Paco Valcarcel said. MVP offered full refunds and promised to pay out Serrano’s opponent’s purse.
Elsewhere, Paul signed Indian boxer Neeraj Goyat to his MVP label after their viral confrontation earlier this week. The two men had to be separated after Goyat pulled up on Paul in Puerto Rico, with footage of the incident quickly spreading online. Goyat is has repeatedly held the WBC Asia title and has been calling out Paul online for months. It’s now clear that the confrontation was staged to precede Goyat signing with MVP.
“I’m truly honored to be the newest member of the Most Valuable Promotions family. MVP has been making waves in the boxing world, particularly with its commitment to showcasing and uplifting women in the sport since 2021. In just 2.5 years, MVP has organized some of the world’s most significant boxing events, and I’m excited to work with MVP to elevate the status of professional boxing in India and bring attention to boxers from India globally,” Goyat said. The fighter, who was the first Indian fighter to be ranked by the WBC, is currently 18-4 in his career.
Cam’ron and Ma$e have reunited as best friends, which means they have been hanging out a lot together as of late. Overall, many of their nights out together or at sporting events. Of course, this makes sense when you consider how the two have a very successful sports show together. It Is What It Is has been making major waves as of late, and we don’t foresee that coming to a close, anytime soon. Fans love the show, and Cam’s commentary has proven to be must-see television.
Over the weekend, Cam and Ma$e went to the Jermell Charlo and Canelo Alvarez fight. This match was certainly a risk for Charlo seeing as though he had to go up a few weight classes. Unfortunately, he was not good in the fight with Alvarez dominating throughout. Consequently, Canelo won the match, and now, Charlo has to reconvene and figure out what to do next. However, in Cam’ron’s eyes, Charlo’s performance was a joke and it ultimately turned he and Ma$e’s night out into a colossal waste of time.
Cam’ron felt like Charlo had poor conditioning and poor form, and overall, he did not seem ready to fight. Moreover, he would like to see Charlo fight someone like Errol Spence Jr. That way, he can figure out whether or not he is washed, or can still contend for some titles. Ma$e felt the exact same way, although Cam’ron did seem to be especially offended by Charlo and his performance. It is almost as if the legendary New York artist felt like it was a personal slight.
Overall, Canelo is an amazing fighter, so it should come as absolutely no surprise that things went down this way. Either way, Cam will be thinking twice before going to the next fight involving Jermell Charlo. Let us know what you thought of the match, in the comments section below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music and sports worlds.
One of the biggest and most highly touted boxing matches of the year between Canelo Alvarez and Jermell Charlo took place this past weekend. Unfortunately, it was a bit of a letdown, to say the least for the viewers. Alvarez looked to be at peak performance, sweeping every round. The final scorecards read 118-109, 118-109, and 119-108. A considerable amount of people were predicting an upset but, that could not have been further from it. He showed out in front of plenty of stars, including Stephen Jackson.
It was total domination and Canelo had a scary message for the rest of the competition. “Nobody can compete with this Canelo. Two months in the mountains without my family. I still love boxing. I love boxing so f*****g much. Boxing is my life. Boxing made me the person I am today.” However, that was not the only big storyline from this fight. As we mentioned, Stephen Jackson was in attendance, and as he was trying to leave the fight, things got heated.
Security let some of Canelo’s family leave ahead of Jackson. He was understanding in that, saying, “Of course, me and my people stood to the side.” Then, a cop was trying to let more of the fighter’s family through and that is when he got upset. “One cop gotta grab me… I waited for 30 people. If he got 40 people that’s family, they gon’ have to wait.” He continues, “I was respectful enough to let 30 people pass. Bet you won’t put your hands on nobody no more.” Some people were disgusted with the former NBA player’s actions while others were in agreeance.
What are your initial thoughts on Stephen Jackson’s response to the clip of him after the fight? Do you think he was reasonable in his explanation? What would you have done in that situation? We want to hear what you have to say about all of this. With that in mind, be sure to leave all of your thoughts and opinions in the comments section below. Those looking for a historic upset from Jermell Charlo were left sorely disappointed on Saturday night. Canelo Alvarez easily beat Charlo in a unanimous decision, 118-109, 118-109, 119-108. “Nobody can compete with this Canelo. Two months in the mountains without my family. I still love boxing. I love boxing so fucking much. Boxing is my life. Boxing made me the person I am today,” Canelo said after the fight. Alvarez, who had told reporters he was “still in his prime” prior to the fight, spent most of the bout trying to goad Charlo into engaging. Charlo, who was fighting up two divisions, managed to avoid most of Alvarez’s power attacks but rarely went on the offensive himself.
“I feel like it wasn’t me in there. I don’t make excuses. You win some, you lose some. I’m undisputed in my weight; I was daring to be great. I’m proud of myself. He didn’t knock me out; he knocked all the other guys out,” Charlo said after the fight. Furthermore, Charlo confirmed that he would be returning to 154 pounds for the foreseeable future. He still holds three titles at junior middleweight but was stripped of the WBO title before the fight. He will have to wait on the October 14 bout between Tim Tszyu and Brian Mendoza before he can mount another claim to be undisputed.
Alvarez Eyes Cinco De Mayo, Charlo Calls Out Crawford
As for the future, both men had different plans. “Whoever. I don’t fucking care,” Canelo said when asked who he intends to fight in his next scheduled bout over the Cinco De Mayo weekend. Potential contenders could include David Benavidez and Demetrius Andrade, both of whom have called out Alvarez over the past few years. The two men fight later this year, setting up a de facto challenger to Canelo through the winner. However, the marquee fight in the eyes of many fans would be to pit Alvarez against Terence Crawford.
Despite this, that may have to wait as Charlo called out Crawford directly after the fight. However, Charlo also stated that he was happy to wait for a winner from Tszyu-Mendoza and then challenge for the WBO belt he just lost. Charlo was meant to fight Tszyu back in January before breaking his hand in training. However, for now, both camps will return to their home bases – one in victory and the other in bitter and humbling defeat.
Canelo Alvarez hit back at recent claims that he’s over the hill. “I feel fresh. I feel in my prime,” he told TMZ this week. Furthermore, Canelo revealed that he actually fought his last fight while injured. “I had a little injury on my hand [that was] slowing me down a little bit, but you will see Saturday night.” This weekend, Canelo takes on Jermell Charlo in one of the hottest fights of the year. It’s the first time in boxing’s four-belt era that two reigning undisputed champions will face off. The bout is taking place at 185 lbs (super middleweight), which is a two-division jump for the junior middleweight Charlo.
There is history on the line for both fighters. If Canelo wins, he’ll be the first boxer of the four-belt era to mount three consecutive defenses of a unified title. Meanwhile, Charlo could take Canelo’s titles and become just the fourth boxer in history in a fight two divisions up. The other fighters who have achieved such a feat are Sugar Ray Leonard, Thomas Hearns, and Roy Jones Jr.. The fight goes down in Vegas on Saturday night.
While few people are thinking about the future before this fight goes down, there is one person Canelo will never fight. After he beat Nate Diaz last month, Jake Paul attempted to call out Canelo. However, the veteran fighter has absolutely no interest in battling the internet personality. “My level is other level,” Canelo told Mirror Fighting. “But look, I think he needs to enjoy what he’s doing, and that’s it. He needs to calm down and start calling out people with other levels. I think he needs to focus on what he’s doing. He’s doing good things.”
Álvarez clarified, stating that Paul needs to continue fighting people like Diaz for the being. Paul is 7-1 in his professional boxing career. However, only one of those fights, his sole loss, has come against an experienced professional boxer. His other six fights have been against a YouTuber and four MMA fighters. Previously, Álvarez said “I truly believe that it’s a lack of respect. It’s all based on money. It’s all for money,” in 2020 when discussing the Paul Brothers with TMZ.
Canelo Alvarez, the renowned Mexican boxer, has made waves in the sports world with his remarkable boxing prowess. As of 2023, his net worth stands at an astonishing $200 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth. Below, we explore the numerous factors that contribute to his impressive fortune.
Canelo’s Boxing Journey
Canelo Alvarez’s journey in the world of boxing began at a young age. Born on July 18, 1990, in Guadalajara, Mexico, Alvarez quickly found his passion for the sport. However, it was his dedication and talent that propelled him to turn professional at the age of just 15. As a result of his rapid rise through the ranks, he captured the attention of fans and promoters alike.
Alvarez defined his early years through hard work and determination. He faced numerous challenges, including financial struggles within his family. These difficulties only fueled his drive to succeed in the boxing world. His debut in the professional ring was a glimpse of the greatness that was to come. He continued to make a name for himself through impressive victories.
Beyond his boxing endeavors, Canelo Alvarez’s net worth has been significantly boosted by lucrative endorsements and commercial ventures. His charisma and success in the ring have attracted numerous brands seeking to align themselves with his image. Alvarez’s partnerships with companies such as Nike, Under Armour, and Tecate have contributed to his substantial fortune.
While his success in boxing and endorsements has brought him immense wealth, Canelo Alvarez is also committed to making a positive impact on society. His involvement in various philanthropic endeavors highlights the importance of ensuring that he uses his efforts to create a better future for the next generation. He focuses on supporting underprivileged communities and providing resources for those in need. Moreover, his dedication to philanthropy showcases his desire to give back to society and make a difference beyond the boxing ring.
Alvarez’s philanthropic efforts extend beyond monetary contributions. He has been actively involved in organizing charity events and initiatives that aim to uplift marginalized communities. By leveraging his fame and resources, he has been able to raise awareness and drive positive change in areas such as education, healthcare, and youth development.
One area close to Alvarez’s heart is education. He recognizes the transformative power of education and has established scholarships and programs to support students in pursuing their academic goals. Through his foundation, he aims to provide opportunities that can break the cycle of poverty. Furthermore, he hopes to create a brighter future for young individuals.
Canelo Alvarez’s net worth is also a reflection of his continued success in the boxing arena. His dedication to his craft and his ability to adapt and grow as a fighter have solidified his status as one of the sport’s modern legends. His fights draw massive pay-per-view audiences, adding to his earnings and overall net worth.
Canelo Alvarez’s journey from humble beginnings to becoming a boxing sensation is a testament to his hard work, determination, and unwavering commitment to excellence. His net worth of $200 million in 2023, as reported by Celebrity Net Worth, is a result of his boxing success, endorsements, and philanthropic efforts. Beyond the glitz and glamour, Alvarez’s dedication to making a positive impact through his philanthropy showcases his true character. As he continues to excel in the boxing ring and give back to society, his legacy as a remarkable athlete and a compassionate individual remains firmly intact.
Canelo Álvarez has responded to reports that Jake Paul is eyeing the acclaimed boxer as his next fight after taking down Nate Diaz earlier this month. “My level is other level,” Canelo told Mirror Fighting this week.
Alvarez Says What Everyone Is Thinking About Jake Paul
Álvarez’s comments give voice to the major question about Jake, and to a lesser extent Logan, Paul. Are the Paul Brothers the real deal? Most experts agree that Jake is a competent fighter. However, what he lacks is fight experience, especially against challenging opponents. Given his status, Jake Paul is able to pick and choose his fights. And in six of his seven fights, he’s picked big-name marquee matchups that are easily winnable for him, the guy dedicating his time to boxing. As mentioned, he’s only ever fought one actual boxer, and it was a pretty one-sided loss for Paul.
But the problem is that Paul either doesn’t understand that or doesn’t want to understand that. And his calling out of Álvarez shows this lack of understanding. Beating Nate Diaz, a man who has never boxed professionally in his life, does not give you the tools or stature to challenge one of the best active boxers in the world. Álvarez is 59-2-2 and current stands as the unified super middleweight fighter. A 7-1 boxer with one reputable fight under his belt is little not worth Álvarez’s time or reputation. At the end of the day, what does he gain from fighting Paul other than money?
Terence Crawford is currently the biggest name in boxing. The 40-0 fighter is coming off a dominant performance against Errol Spence Jr. in their undisputed welterweight unification fight. While a rematch with Spence Jr. will likely take place before the end of the year, many people have been speculating on what Crawford’s next fight could be. One name that has arisen is Cancelo Álvarez. Álvarez is 59-2-2 in his career and is currently the undisputed super middleweight champion.
However, it’s not a fight that Crawford himself is interested in. “No, not at all,” Crawford told TMZ in regards to his interest in the fight. “Canelo really don’t interest me because of the size factor.” Álvarez is a little under 20 lbs heavier than Crawford. Furthermore, Crawford referenced the fact that Álvarez has bounced around various weight classes over the years. “You don’t know what weight [Canelo’s] fighting at when he fighting,” Crawford explained. Crawford has expressed interest in fighting at 154 lbs. However, that’s an 8lb gain compared to a 19lb one.
However, Crawford did have some ideas for his next fights. First and foremost is the expected rematch for the welterweight title. “That’s my obligation in the contract and I gotta honor that if that’s the next move for me and my career,” Crawford said. The rematch clause is valid for 30 days after the fight and it is widely expected that Spence Jr. will trigger it later this month. Beyond Spence Jr. however, there was one opponent that Crawford liked the idea of fighting.
“I would definitely choose Jermell Charlo. It’s a meaningful fight,” Crawford said. “It’s more history. It’s more on the table.” As alluded to by Crawford, he has a long history with the 35-1 Charlo. Even at his unification victory over Spence Jr., Crawford found time to trade barbs with the Louisiana fighter. Much like his long feud with Spence Jr., fighting Charlo would settle a long war of words. Furthermore, Charlo is currently the undisputed light middleweight champion, which would make for a historic prize for the ever-hungry Crawford.
Multi-division world champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarezwas honored with his own statue by Mexico in the boxer’s hometown on Monday evening. Presented by the Mexican government, Canelo marks the second fighter to receive a statue in 2022, following Deontay Wilder in May.
In Juanacatlian, Mexico, surrounded by family, friends, and fans, the 32-year-old champion was honored for his many accomplishments during his ongoing 17-year boxing career. The honor comes on the heels of Canelo latest win against longtime rival Genndaiy “GGG” Golovkin over the Summer.
Canelo is the biggest draw in today’s boxing, with high-profile brand endorsement deals with Hennessy, Louis Vuitton, Tecate, and Under Armour. Alvarez is currently ranked #5 on ESPN boxing’s pound-for-pound list with a record of 57 wins and 2 losses.
Alvarez is currently in negotiations for a rematch against Dimitry Bivol, who gave Canelo the second defeat of his career in early 2022. A laundry list of others who want a shot at Canelo includes Jermall Charlo, David Benavidez, Caleb Plant, and Demetrius Andrade.
In related news, Canelo is set to appear in the upcoming film Creed 3, starring and directed by Michael B. Jordan.
