D4VD Added To The Second Leg Of SZA’s “SOS” Tour

SZA is still on a massive tour following the release of her long-awaited new album SOS last year. Starting next month, she will embark on a second leg of the SOS tour and will be joined by a new special guest. Today she announced that Texas singer-songwriter D4VD will be joining her on tour from September 20 until October 29. He made the announcement himself on Instagram with a post of the upcoming tour dates. “TRYING NOT TO PANIC @sza THANK U FOR HAVING ME ON TOURRRR I cannot believe my eyes right now this is going to be INSANE,” the caption of his post read.

That won’t be the only opportunity for fans to see SZA soon. She was just announced as a headliner at Tyler, The Creator’s Flog Gnaw festival. The fest is returning for a 2023 edition after years off following the pandemic. It’s the same festival where Drake was once booed off-stage during a surprise set because fans were expecting Frank Ocean to perform. She joins Kendrick Lamar, Clipse, Baby Keem, Ice Spice, and many more in the impressive roster of performers.

Earlier this month, DJ Akademiks sparked outrage for comments he made about SZA’s weight. “Let me keep it a bean, SZA is as fat as me. That’s 100 percent facts. This is why when b*tches call me fat, I be laughing,” AK ranted. He went on to describe the R&B darling as being “built like a smart car.”

SZA has had two tracks become stable hits in 2023. Her song “Kill Bill” has been one of the biggest hits of the year so far and hit number one on the Hot 100 when she teamed up with Doja Cat for a remix. Tyler, The Creator Unveils Full Camp Flog Gnaw Lineup: Kendrick Lamar, SZA & More

Well, after four years since its last iteration in 2019, Tyler, The Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival is back on November 11 and 12 this year at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. Moreover, if you were online just a few hours ago, you know that the festival live-streamed people painting each and every artist on the lineup on a mural. Now, we have the full list of performers, and it’s an eclectic, exciting, and often surprising collection of amazing talent. Of course, the Hawthorne native’s reputation as a creative and curator precedes him, but this was still no less joyous to see unfold. Unfortunately, tickets for it sold out almost immediately, but if you’re looking for one, best of luck to you on your resale cop journey.

Furthermore, let’s talk about this lineup. Camp Flog Gnaw will host the first joint set from The Hillbillies, better known as Kendrick Lamar and Baby Keem. Keeping up with TDE connections, SZA will also perform, as well as Tyler himself, obviously. Other massive names on the lineup include Ice Spice, Kali Uchis, Lil Yachty, Rex Orange County, Dominic Fike, PinkPantheress, and former BROCKHAMPTON mastermind Kevin Abstract. In addition, the festival also brought on Fuerza Regida, the regional Mexican collective that’s making huge waves in the Latin American market, which is the most special and surprising addition here.

However, let’s not forget about some Odd Future era mainstays at Camp Flog Gnaw: Syd, Earl Sweatshirt, Mike G, Domo Genesis, and Left Brain. Also, many of Tyler’s past collaborators have a spot on the bill, like Teezo Touchdown, Maxo Kream, Fana Hues, and DAISY WORLD. One of the most exciting placements for hip-hop fans, though, has to be a set from Clipse, as well as other great MCs and rising groups like Maxo (not the Kream variety), redveil, Paris Texas, AG Club, and many more. Tyler, The Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival is making its grand return this year, and that means a grand reveal. Moreover, the festival’s official website and Twitch page are currently live-streaming the reveal of its lineup as of writing this article. The footage shows various people painting the names on a festival mural, and they’re still painting at the time of publishing. Still, there are already some exciting names on display, and we’re still waiting on some of the more big and mainstream announcements. Given all the anticipation for this upcoming spectacle on November 11 and 12 of this year in Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, fans went into a frenzy.

Furthermore, this is Camp Flog Gnaw’s first iteration in four years, as it hadn’t ran since 2019. What’s more is that the Hawthorne creative and innovator revealed Camp Flog Gnaw’s return in perhaps the coolest way possible. If you didn’t already know, he had a cameo appearance in Baby Keem and Kendrick Lamar’s music video for their loosie, “The Hillbillies.” During it, they performed at Dodger Stadium and Tyler flashed a badge that read “Camp Flog Gnaw 2023,” and followed the video with an official announcement. With that in mind, many expect for the pgLang MCs to appear on this lineup very soon.

Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival Is Revealing Its Headliners Via A Livestream

Tyler The Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival is returning this year after taking a few years off and, of course, in typical Tyler The Creator fashion, the rollout for the festival is going big. After making the announcement of its return to Dodger Stadium on November 11-12 in Baby Keem and Kendrick Lamar’s “The Hillbillies” video, the festival is revealing its lineup via a Twitch livestream on the Camp Flog Gnaw website. Painters are putting a mural of the flyer on the side of Tyler’s Golf store on Fairfax in Los Angeles.

It was speculated that Baby Keem and Kendrick Lamar would be the headliners, but it looks like it’ll be a while before we find out for sure. So far, AG Club, Fana Hues, Paris Texas, Balming Tiger, Teezo Touchdown, Ravyn Lenae, Daisy World, Maxo, Mike G, Left Brain, Maxo Kream, Khamari, and Liv.e as performers for this year’s festival.

Announcing the headliners via a livestream could be Tyler’s way to make up for the misstep of 2019, when he tried to surprise fans with a Drake appearance, but they wound up booing him instead as they hoped for a set from the notoriously mysterious Frank Ocean (who has ties to Tyler through their early work as members of Odd Future).

Further down the lineup, more names are being revealed as a large mural is being painted live; we’ll continue to update as we learn who else is going to be included in this year’s festival. In the past, the carnival has included such big names as ASAP Rocky, HER, Jaden, Juice WRLD, Kid Cudi, Lana Del Rey, Lauryn Hill, Mac Miller, Migos, Post Malone, Solange, SZA, Vince Staples, and more — many before their superstardom — so expect to see at least a few stars of the future.

How Much Are Camp Flog Gnaw Tickets For 2023?

Tyler The Creator officially unveiled the return of Camp Flog Gnaw, his previously annual music festival in California.

It marks the first return since 2019 and is now being held at Dodger Stadium. Given the demand for the truly popular event, many fans might be wondering how to get tickets and once they try to, how much it might set them back financially.

While fans are currently able to register for the opportunity to buy tickets on June 2, there are also three price tiers for passes.

The first, a 2-day General Admission, starts at $335 plus additional fees. It keeps the standard experience of a music festival but does include access to the carnival rides that would be on the grounds. However, these prices are currently for the advance sale — leading to the likely chance that they will increase in cost for those who purchase outside of the presale.

The 2-Day VIP pass starts at $595 and contains more exclusive private benefits. The next step up is the Super VIP weekend pass, with an advance cost of $1,495 and a merch package included, along with even extra special perks.

Finally, there is an option to upgrade to add-on carnival game tickets for $150, as none of the three tiers of tickets have it included.

Tyler The Creator has officially announced the return of his popular music festival, Camp Flog Gnaw, for this November at Dodger Stadium. It marks the first event since 2019 due to the pandemic. Needless to say, people are immensely excited to experience the annual fest once more.

While the lineup has yet to be announced, those interested in attending can register now to participate in the advance sale, which opens up this Friday (June 2) at 10 a.m. PT. By doing so, the festival will send out exclusive codes for the chance to purchase passes.

There are also three tiers of tickets being offered. The first is a 2-day General Admission that includes carnival games. The VIP admission pass runs at $595 to start, with additional perks, including an exclusive viewing area, faster line access to merch, air-conditioned bathrooms, and exclusive food vendors.

Finally, the Super VIP tier opens at $1,495 — giving those interested access to a special clubhouse, a super VIP entry lane, and all the previous perks of the regular VIP tier. All advance ticket purchases in any tier will also come with a special gift.

For those also interested in playing the carnival games, tickets aren’t available in any of the tiers, but can be purchased as an additional add-on.

Tyler, The Creator has officially confirmed that his music festival, Camp Flog Gnaw, will be returning in November 2023. The event has been on hiatus since 2019, a year before the coronavirus pandemic. It will be held from November 11-12 at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.

Advanced tickets for Camp Flog Gnaw 2023 will go on sale Friday, June 2nd at 12:00 PM, PDT. Fans can register their mobile number to be sent an exclusive code to purchase before the general sale. On the festival’s website, there is a link to Kendrick Lamar and Baby Keem’s new music video, “The Hillbillies,” in which Tyler makes a cameo. For Camp Flog Gnaw, there are general access passes available priced at $335 as well as VIP passes at $595. A Super VIP pass is also available for $1495 which includes a custom SE 29” Big Flyer Bike, Converse x Golf Wang custom shoe, a “Camp Flog Gnaw” blanket, fanny pack, mug, and pin, all in addition to access to the festival. Tyler has yet to reveal the lineup for this year’s event. In past years, he’s brought along Solange, Juice WRLD, Brockhampton, and many more.

Fans expressed their excitement for the news by replying to Tyler’s tweet. One wrote in all caps, “THANK YOU TYLER!!! I MISSED IT SOOOO MUCH.” Another replied, “I have to be there this year.” Others further theorized who could be performing at this year’s event. Some suggested a surprise appearance from Frank Ocean.

Earlier this week, Tyler The Creator caused a stir when he made a cameo appearance in Baby Keem and Kendrick Lamar’s grainy video for “The Hillbillies.” Clowning around with the cousins in front of the Dodger Stadium entrance, Tyler went right up to the camera to show off a button on his shirt reading “Camp Flog Gnaw 2023,” seemingly announcing the impending return of his lauded music festival for the first time since 2019. Today, that announcement has been confirmed with an official press release revealing the dates of the festival’s return to Dodger Stadium: November 11 and 12, 2023.

Camp Flog Gnaw, which had become pretty much the live version of the Tyler-inspired Pollen playlist on Spotify, was home to one of the most impressive alternative hip-hop and R&B lineups around. Featured artists in previous years have included Tyler’s inspirations and collaborators like ASAP Rocky, Billie Eilish, Brockhampton, Erykah Badu, Flatbush Zombies, HER, The Internet, Jaden Smith, Juice WRLD, Kid Cudi, Lauryn Hill, Raphael Saadiq, Solange, Summer Walker, SZA, Thundercat, Willow Smith, and Vince Staples. Even Drake made a (somewhat poorly received) surprise appearance.

However, the festival had to be canceled in 2020 due to the pandemic, and since then, Tyler’s hectic schedule has kept him too busy to plan and curate the festival. Last year, Tyler The Creator did not host his annual Camp Flog Gnaw festival. “It’s really not that deep,” his manager Chris Clancy explained at the time. “Tyler toured all year and was busy with a number of projects. Reading the tea leaves and what’s happening with festivals coming out of the pandemic, we thought it would be best to come back next year.”

Fans are awaiting an announcement. But Tuesday, May 30 was a big signifier of exciting things en route. Baby Keem and Kendrick Lamar, noted cousins and collaborators, teamed up for a new song called “The Hillbillies,” in which they rap over a sample of Bon Iver’s “PDLIF.” The video catches the pair in LA’s Beverly Center Mall as well as Dodger Stadium.

Where Camp Flog Gnaw comes into play is when Tyler The Creator makes an unexpected cameo toward the end of the video, appearing alongside Keem and Kenny at the Dodger Stadium entrance where a button on his shirt announces that the festival is returning for 2023.

Tyler, the Creator teased the announcement of Camp Flog Gnaw 2023 while making a cameo in Kendrick Lamar and Baby Keem’s new music video, “The Hillbillies.” In doing so, he displayed a “Camp Flog Gnaw 2023” button on a jacket in front of Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. Tyler didn’t provide any further details in the video.

As for the new track, Kendrick Lamar and Baby Keem interpolate Drake’s “Sticky” off his 2022 album Honestly, Nevermind, while sampling Bon Iver’s 2020 single, “PDLIF.” It’s the latest of several tracks Lamar and Keem have teamed up for, following “N95,” “Die Hard,” “Range Brothers,” “Savior,” “Nile,” and “Family Ties.” For the latter, the pair took home the Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance.

Lamar and Keem will be performing at Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Tennessee from June 15 to 18. Keem previously supported Lamar on The Big Steppers tour in 2022. It ended up becoming the highest-grossing rap tour of all time with a total revenue of $110,886,026. Lamar promoted his fifth studio album, Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers, with the shows.

While Tyler, the Creator didn’t collaborate on the album, he did have massive praise for it during a Converse All-Star Series. “[It’s] so open and honest that some people can’t listen to it,” Tyler said at the time. “Because they probably feel like he’s looking at them in their eyes. And they’re like, ‘Uhhh, I can’t panic. I can’t listen to this. Put on something else so I can hit my dougie.’” He added: “We gotta cut the bullshit and be more honest. And that’s what Kendrick is doing with his new album.”
