The Game Offers To Pay Airbnb Costs For Families Displaced By L.A. Fires

The Game is an L.A. artist through and through. He was the shining star of West Coast hip hop in the 2000s. He has continued to be loyal to his city and his coast for the duration of his career. The rapper proved it on January 9. Thousands of families were forced to abandon their homes in the wake of the Northern California wildfires. Houses have been destroyed, and people are unsure of where they can hole up in the meantime. The Game decided to put his wealth to good use as a result.

The rapper took to Instagram on Thursday to help local families out. He announced that he would be able to pay Airbnb costs for up to ten L.A. families who were forced to relocate. “Me and @travforthestars are helping ten families effected [sic] by the fires here. Get into Airbnb for a week free of charge.” The Game told those who qualify to contract @travforthestars for additional information. The rapper expressed his shock over the wildfires days before, in a lengthy Instagram post. L.A.’s finest urged people to stay safe and provided links to helpful organizations.

“This is just sad,” The Game stated. “Los Angeles is really hurting right now. If you are anywhere near fires. Please pack what’s necessary & evacuate immediately. I have many friends, neighbors & people I know that have lost everything.” The Game also admitted that his own property have been put in harm’s way as a result of the fires. “My own home & those around it are in extreme danger as the Santa Monica mountains fires continue to spread,” he added. “[It’s] even reached the Hollywood hills close to Runyon Canyon.” The Game wasn’t alone in lending his support and prayers to fellow Angelinos.

Snoop Dogg, another West Coast legend, spoke on the matter via social media. He didn’t delve into as much detail as The Game, but he too included links to helpful organizations. Snoop also posted a photo on Instagram that read “Pray for L.A.” The Game has been the recipient of some backlash following the Pop Out concert, which he was not invited to. The rapper shut down the rumors that he was beefing with Kendrick Lamar, and placed emphasis on their city. “I ain’t have to be there to think that the muthaf*king sh*t was cool,” he told fans. “It’s a dub for the coast.”

Chris Brown Co-Signs Controversial Theory About L.A. Wildfire Arson

Wildfires are decimating Los Angeles this week. Thousands have lost their homes, and even more have been forced to evacuate the area. Chris Brown is not one of the celebrities who sustained damage to L.A. properties as a result of the fires. That said, the singer took to social media on January 9 to weigh in on the situation. Chris Brown didn’t send prayers to those affected. Instead, the singer decided to theorize that some of the fires that have spread have been man made.

Chris Brown hopped on Instagram Thursday morning to share this theory. He didn’t beat around the bush, either, he flat out stated that he believes an arsonist is responsible. “Someone starting these fires,” he wrote over a black background. “Sh*t don’t add up.” The comments underneath Chris Brown’s post varied greatly. Some felt the singer was spreading misinformation and distracting from the very serious damage being caused by the wildfires. “Conspiracy theorist never have any evidence,” one skeptical fan wrote. “Just ‘sum don’t add up.’”

Chris Brown Claimed “Someone” Was Starting L.A. Fires

Others felt Chris Brown was putting forth a plausible theory. “There is too much money in California,” another user posited. “For them to not have figured out how to control wildfires at this point..” Brown is not the only celebrity who has publicly doubted the origin of the Los Angeles fires. Henry Winkler, the legendary television actor, did just that on January 8. “THERE IS an ARSONIST here in LA,” he wrote on Twitter. “May you be beaten you unrecognizable!!!. The pain you have caused !!!.” Actors Josh Gad and Yvette Nicole Brown expressed similar sentiments on Threads.

An official for the Los Angeles Fire Department shot down Chris Brown and other celebrities’ theory, however. They told TMZ that it is too early to determine the cause of the fires. “There’s no way to know at this moment exactly where and how the series of fires started,” they explained. The official did confirm that an investigation into the cause of said fires is underway. In the meantime, former Brown collaborator Jhene Aiko will have to rebuild her Los Angeles home.

Meek Mill Confuses Fans With Rambling Tweet About L.A. Wildfires

Meek Mill is a prolific tweeter. Drake famously dubbed him “Twitter fingers” during their 2015 battle, and it has proven to be accurate. The rapper has weighed in on virtually every notable pop culture event over the last few years. The thing is, fans can rarely make sense of where he’s coming from. Or where Meek is going, for that matter. He starts off with a clear topic, then goes off on a tangent that results in mockery and meme-ery. History repeated itself on January 8. Meek Mill spoke on the wildfires that are currently wreaking havoc in Los Angeles, but lost the plot somewhere amidst the characters.

Meek Mill started off strong by voicing his support for Los Angeles natives. “Prayers to LA 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾,” he wrote. It was what came next that caused followers to look at him sideways. The rapper decided to make the situation in Los Angeles about himself, rather than the people being forced to evacuate their homes. “I never knew about fire trauma until my house caught on fire,” he added. “I was smelling fire in my sleep jumping up for 3 years.” Meek Mill continued to reflect on his own experiences with fire. “I didn’t know that type of trauma existed,” he concluded. “So I was just dealing with it as a kid!.”

Fans Criticized Meek Mill For Focusing On Himself

The rapper was promptly torn to shreds in the replies. Fans were baffled by Meek Mill’s decision to make an ongoing tragedy about himself. One user accurately called out the issue with the tweet. “I know you’re probably tryna show folks you can relate or something,” they conceded. “But this comes off and folks will take it as you making the tragedy about yourself.” Other users pointed out that the rapper had it right the first time, and simply overthought the tweet. Some accounts crossed out everything in Meek Mill’s tweet except for “Prayers to LA.” The takeaway? He didn’t need to say more than that.

Meek Mill is not the only music star who has voiced their support for L.A. citizens. Shawn Mendes and Billie Eilish voiced their horror over the wildfires via Instagram. The latter also linked to the Los Angeles Fire Department in an attempt to be helpful. Ariana Grande also spoke on the on tragedy. “My heart is with everyone impacted by the devastating LA fires,” the singer wrote on her IG Stories. “Sharing some organizations to support who are responding to those affected in real time.”
