Young Thug’s ‘Business Is Business’ Artwork Pictures Him In Court For His Upcoming Release

As of today, it’s been about two years since Young Thug released a project with that being his fall 2021 effort Punk. Since then, we’ve heard him on albums from the likes of Metro Boomin, Gunna, Future, Lil Baby, Yeat, and others, but outside of that, Thug’s career has been stunted by his spring 2022 arrest. He, along with other members of his YSL collective, were arrested on racketeering and conspiracy charges. Now, for the first time since that arrest, it appears that the music world will get a new body of work from Young Thug.

The rumored project appears to be titled Business Is Business thanks to posts on Young Thug’s social media pages. The project was first announced last week with a countdown, and with just a few hours left on it, we now have the artwork for Business Is Business. Posted by Thug, Metro Boomin, and Drake, the artwork depicts Young Thug seated in a chair with his body turned to face the camera. Beside him on each side are four men who are facing frontward.

Metro Boomin and Drake also shared the Business Is Business artwork with Metro writing, “BUSINESS IS BUSINESS AVAILABLE WORLDWIDE TONIGHT!! YOU CAN’T STOP WHAT GOD HAS PLANNED!! #FREETWIN I LOVE YOU BRO.” Drake wrote on Instagram, “you owe me this time… midnight @thuggerthugger1.” Young Thug’s Instagram page replied to Drake’s post, writing, “U will be paid.”

Young Thug’s “Business Is Business” Cover Art Revealed

While he remains behind bars for the YSL RICO case, Young Thug is returning to the musical realm. Moreover, he recently changed his Instagram profile pic, which caused a lot of speculation before even bigger news dropped. Via posts from Thug himself, Metro Boomin, and others in the rap game, the official cover art for Business Is Business has released online. Furthermore, it’s unclear as of yet whether this will be a new single or album, although fans are obviously rooting for the latter. No matter the case, the Atlanta trap pioneer is dropping something (hopefully) very special at midnight tonight (June 22).

Not only that, but this news also comes a week after Gunna dropped his latest album a Gift & a Curse with very little rollout. On it, he addressed the snitching allegations after he took a plea deal in the YSL RICO case and bashed those who turned on him. Considering that YSL promoted the album on social media, it seems as though their relationship is not as contentious as online discussion may have you believe. Still, that’s only speculation, and while it’s unlikely, perhaps this new Young Thug project will have some answers.

Young Thug’s Cover Art For His New Release

Also, this new… something from Thugger comes a little after he posted a countdown on his social media, which many in the game reposted. In fact, Gunna himself shared the countdown, adding to his continued support of Jeffrey through song, music videos, and public statements. While many online sources reported this as an album, it looks like we won’t know for sure until it comes out tonight. Regardless, the uncertainty only further fuels fan excitement a year after the 31-year-old and others were arrested.

Metro Boomin Shares “Business Is Business”

Meanwhile, it’s not like things have been radio silent from the “Bubbly” MC since his arrest. For example, Yeat recently shared his news collab with him, “My Wrist,” which saw Thug stun again with his expressive vocals and flows. Maybe this new release will be a switch-up, especially given the court-themed cover art. No matter what, this is a huge moment for hip-hop in 2023, and fans only have a few hours to get ready. Metro Boomin Shares Pic With Young Thug Ahead Of New Music

Metro Boomin shared a picture of himself in the studio with Young Thug on Twitter, Friday, ahead of the release of their collaborative effort, “Business Is Business.” He captioned the photo with a series of handshaking and suitcase emojis as the two appear to be all smiles.

Metro Boomin and Young Thug first announced the new music by uploading a QR code with the caption, “Business Is Business.” The code redirected users to a website with a countdown set for June 22 at midnight ET.

The release comes as Young Thug currently remains in jail as the YSL RICO trial continues. Metro provided an update on Thug while speaking with DJ Drama back in January. “I be talking to him, he’s blessed man,” Metro said at the time. “Anybody know Slime know he got a heart of gold but he got the heart of a warrior at the same time so like, he got his head up. And I pray for him every single day, even since everything first happened, I pray for him every single day.”

He continued: “The day he got locked up he was supposed to be in the superhero video. He had a whole scene set up where he was gonna say the tag and do some other shit. I remember talking to him on the FaceTime, he was like, ‘yeah I’m finna pull up.”

Metro Boomin Poses With Young Thug

While he’s got an effort with Young Thug on the way, Metro previously said that his upcoming collaborative project with Future would be his next release. He most recently handled the soundtrack to Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. “Business is Business” will also arrive after Thug’s former associate, Gunna, dropped his new album, A Gift & A Curse, on Friday.

Young Thug And Metro Boomin Plan To Prove ‘Business Is Business’ With An Upcoming Release

Being behind bars isn’t stopping Young Thug from dropping some unreleased ones for his fans. The “My Wrist” rapper is teaming up with producer extraordinaire Metro Boomin on an upcoming release.

Both musicians’ official Twitter pages served as the purveyor of the exciting news by uploading a QR code with the caption, “Business Is Business.” Once scanned, users are redirected to a singular webpage that leads to a website with a countdown set for June 22 at midnight ET.

Although it is unclear if the collaboration will be an entire project or a one-off single, supporters of Young Thug shared their gratitude in advance. Outside of his appearance on Yeat’s “My Wrist” and Philmom Lee’s “Baby Don’t Cry,’ the entertainer’s camp hasn’t released any music from the rap star as the focus has been on his legal matters. Metro Boomin is keeping the secret close to his chest, only writing, “Just wait on it,” on Twitter as fans asked about what they should expect.

The release is set to arrive shortly after former associate Gunna’s new album, A Gift & A Curse, which was released earlier today.
