This weekend, Jake Paul was in Saudi Arabia for his boxing match against Tommy Fury, a fight that Paul ended up losing in a split decision. However, there might be an asterisk on Paul’s first professional boxing L: Drake bet $400K on Paul to win, and as we know, the “Drake Curse” (the apparent tendency for teams and athletes to lose after Drake publicly supports them) is real. After the fight, Paul himself addressed this.

In a post-fight press conference, a reporter mentioned Drake’s bet and ask if Paul thinks the “curse” impacted him. He laughed and said, “F*ck, This is Drake’s fault! Drake, bro! Why you do this to me?!”

He continued, “Nah, it’s my fault, but $400,000 is nothing to him, so… he’s won a lot of money betting on me before, so he’s probably about even now. Sorry, Drake. I’ma get that W in the rematch.”

Drake’s $400K bet was for Paul to win the fight by knockout. As TMZ notes, had that happened, Drake would have found himself about $1.4 million richer. Apparently, though, that wasn’t part of God’s plan. Drake performed better with his Super Bowl gambling, though, taking home $1.4 million after placing around $1 million in bets.

Drake and Paul have interacted multiple times over the years. Back in 2021, he revealed on his brother Logan’s podcast that the rapper DM’d him after one of his fights. “Drake DM’d me last night,” he said on the Impaulsive podcast. “[It was] one of the best moments of my life. He says, ‘You’re a demon crow, wow. How much you make for a one-minute set tonight?’” Then, in 2022, Paul shared a picture with Drake while welcoming in the new year.

As for the rest of his comments after the fight, Paul also confirmed that he’s interested in a rematch. “All respect to Tommy, he won,” he said. “Don’t judge me by my wins, judge me by my losses. We deserve that rematch. I don’t know that I agree [with the scorecards]. I got a 10-8 round twice. … So, this is definitely a humbling experience. Jake Paul suffered the first loss of his boxing career on Sunday at Diriyah Arena in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia. Tommy Fury defeated the YouTuber by a split decision (74-75, 76-73, 76-73) to continue his undefeated streak. Fans on Twitter had plenty to say about the highly-anticipated fight.

Those waiting for Paul to finally fail celebrated en masse after the result was announced. “Everyone arriving at Twitter to celebrate Jake Paul getting beat by Tommy Fury,” one user captioned a video of a large crowd traveling down an escalator. Other users also called back to Drake’s massive $400,000 bet on Jake Paul to knock out Tommy Fury. He shared the bet on Saturday night. “Drake realizing the script changed for Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury,” one user captioned a photo of the Toronto rapper checking his phone.

As for the reactions from the fighters themselves, Fury said that he’s now cemented his own legacy separate from being Tyson Fury’s brother. “For the past two years, this is all that has consumed my life. Tommy Fury has defeated Jake Paul by a split decision (74-75, 76-73, 76-73 ) at Diriyah Arena in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia. The victory comes despite being knocked down in the eighth round. The loss marks the first for Paul in his boxing career. Fury remains undefeated. Cristiano Ronaldo, Deontay Wilder, Mike Tyson, and more stars watched on from inside the arena.

Both Paul and Fury landed big shots throughout the fight. However, Fury finished as the more aggressive fighter. He threw 302 punches while landing 88 of them. Paul, on the other hand, threw 157 punches and landed 49. In the end, two judges sided with Fury and one went with Paul.

After the fight, Paul remarked that he feels he deserves a rematch. “This is definitely a humbling experience,” Paul said after the fight. “I’ll take it on the chin and we can run it back.” He added: “All respect to Tommy he won, don’t judge me by my wins judge me by my losses, I’ll come back. I think we deserve a rematch, it was a good fight, a close fight.”

Fury dedicated the win to his girlfriend, Molly-Mae Hague, and the couple’s newborn baby daughter, Bambi. “Tonight I made my own legacy. Drake is confident enough in Jake Paul to knock out Tommy Fury during tomorrow night’s fight that he bet $400,000 on the result. The Toronto rapper shared a picture of the bet slip on Instagram, Saturday night. “Knock knock,” Drake captioned the screenshot.

Saturday’s bet is far from the first gamble Drake has shared on social media. He’s promoted his bets on various sporting events through Stake on Instagram for years. By betting on the Chiefs in the most recent Super Bowl, Drake raked in over $2 million. It’s been reported that Drake has wagered over $1 billion since joining Stake in December 2021.

Gervonta Davis Takes Guilty Plea In Hit & Run Case: Details

Gervonta Davis is currently one of the best boxers in the entire world. However, he has been dealing with some issues as of late. For instance, Davis was at the Super Bowl this past weekend where he was in a wheelchair. Overall, Davis was not making a big deal out of his injury, although it could affect his future fights. Needless to say, fans are a bit concerned about Davis and whether or not he will actually get to go up against Ryan Garcia.

More recently, Davis has been in court over some hit-and-run charges that he incurred back in 2020. According to TMZ, Davis allegedly ran a red light and hit another car. As the alleged story goes, Davis hit a car that had a pregnant woman in it. Subsequently, he made eye contact with those in the car and eventually sped off. This all reportedly took place in Baltimore on November 5th of 2020. Now, however, Gervonta Davis is pleading guilty to the charges.

With this latest plea deal, Davis will only be on the hook for four charges. This is good news for the boxer as he was initially hit with 14 charges. As for the charges that are sticking, we have running a red light, driving with an expired license, leaving the scene of an accident involving bodily injury, and finally, failing to notify of property damage. Overall, these are some serious charges that Davis is still facing punishment for. On May 5th, he will have his official sentencing.

Needless to say, this is all very bad news for Davis who has been in the news for all of the wrong reasons as of late. People are hoping for him to straighten out as his career could take some massive hits. Additionally, he is going to court for an alleged assault that took place on December 27th.
