Who Is Serayah?

Over the weekend, Joey Bada$$ might’ve let us in on a little secret.  The Brooklyn rapper took to Instagram to show us a snap of him and possibly the new woman in his life.  In the photo, you can see Joey dressed to the nines in a black and white suit with his durag to complete his fit.  He is gazing into the eyes of his date, who is none other than Serayah as she wears a red dress giving him her whole attention.

The two look as if they are out on a date as they sit in a booth in front of utensils, napkins, and wine glasses.  After the “Love Is Only a Feeling” rapper made his post on Instagram, Serayah put her own post up of the couple with a black heart as the caption.  The 27-year-old singer has seen a lot of success since hitting the big screen and making music.  She’s not a household name like Keke Palmer or Tinashe, but Serayah is just as talented.

Here’s five things to know about Serayah, in case you didn’t know.

She Dated Jacob Lattimore

Serayah was in a very public relationship with fellow actor Jacob Lattimore.  Lattimore plays Emmett on Showtime’s hit series, The Chi.  As, she has been seen with Joey Bada$$ lately, Serayah confirmed her breakup with Lattimore in a statement.

”Me and Jacob are no longer together. —Sadly we just grew apart and I love and respect his journey moving foward.”

She also confirmed it over Instagram Live as fans kept asking her questions regarding the relationship.  Lattimore and Seryah met in 2016 at the BET Awards.  They finally made it official to the world in March of 2019 when Lattimore posted a picture of the two of them on Instagram.  Serayah confirmed the relationship to Cardi B a few months later at a Fashion Nova event.  Both have shared scenes in shows such as Empire, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, and The Chi.

BET even interviewed the couple for an episode of their series, “Millennial Love Stories”, where Lattimore went in detail how they met.  The actor credits mutual friend, Shameik Moore, for getting them together.  -In the same interview, Serayah describes being impressed during their first date as Lattimore went with the Empire actress to the nail salon.  After six years, it looks like Serayah has moved on.

Serayah is an Actress

Seryah has been acting since 2015, landing her first major role in the hit series, Empire.  She played Tiana Brown for six seasons.  During that time, she also landed movie roles in Lucky Girl, Burning Sands, and other movies that were set for television.  50 Cent picked up Serayah for his hit STARZ series, BMF after Empire ended.  She plays Meech’s baby’s mother. This year, she has a recurring role on Wu-Tang: An American Saga.

Yes, She Sings Too

Not only is she an actress, but she is a singer as well.  Serayah has released seven singles, four from her EP, Addicted.  She released Addicted in 2018 and followed it up with Ray’’.  Serayah also contributed to the original soundtrack for the series, Empire.  In 2015, the song “Drip Drop”, featuring herself and Yazz.  The song reached number 37 on the Billboard Hip Hop/R&B charts.

Last month, the 27-year-old released her new single, “Love or Die” featuring Village Boy Prince.  It is expected to be on her upcoming EP, though a date has not been announced yet.  The BMF actress also spends her time starring in music videos as well.  Serayah has appeared in “Undecided” by Chris Brown, Ne-Yo’s “Don’t Love Me”, Diddy & Bryson Tiller’s “Gotta Move On”, and Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood”.  Joey Bada$$ is set to make a new short film starring Serayah for his song, “Show Me”.  The video for the song is out now.

Friends with Taylor Swift

As I mentioned above, Serayah was in Taylor Swift’s music video for “Bad Blood”.  Even before the video, the two hit it off as Swift wanted to meet the Empire actress.  Swift contacted Serayah before the video shoot to discuss what would be going on and also to thank her for being involved.  Ultimately, Serayah became apart of the “Anti-Hero” singer’s “Girl Group”.  The group includes GiGi Hadid, Martha Hunt, Hailee Steinfeld, Selena Gomez, and Mariska Hargitay to name a few.

Around the time of the release of the video “Bad Blood”, Serayah told People that they are all just girls hanging out.

”We all hang out.  We get together and we go eat and go to late-night cafes.  I think people think it’s this celebrity gathering, but it’s just a bunch of girls, hanging out”.

Serayah applauds Swift for encouraging her to always use her voice and always remembers her for giving her a NARS red lip pencil to use, in which she always gets compliments when she wears it.

Serayah’s Drink of Choice is Tequila

After taking Tequila shots with Taylor Swift, Serayah ultimately became a tequila fan.  She never drank tequila until then and now she’s the ambassador for DeLeon Tequila.  It’s also her go-to drink!  This past Christmas, she teamed up with the brand to deliver a new DeLeon Cranberry Margarita.  The singer also hosted a Thanksgiving event called friendsgiving with DeLeon last year at TAO restaurant in Los Angeles.  She’s even made friends with the owner of the agave spirit as well, none other than Diddy himself.

Let us know if you think Serayah and Joey Bada$$ are a real thing in the comments down below.

Kash Doll Reflects On Starring In “BMF”: “It Just Feels Amazing”

Kash Doll says that starring in 50 Cent’s latest Starz series, BMF, “feels amazing.” She discussed the experience, as well as how motherhood has shifted her focus during a new interview with HipHopDX. In the show, Kash Doll plays Monique, a single mom and paralegal, who is also a love interest of Big Meech. Before BMF, Kash had only appeared in 2 episodes of Empire as herself in 2020.

“It’s a full circle moment man. I came up hearing about BMF when I was younger and just seeing how big their movement was. Being a part of this story on Starz with 50 Cent, man, it just feels amazing. It’s something I can’t explain. I’m just grateful for that opportunity,” she told HipHopDX.

From there, Kash Doll explained that her focus has completely changed since becoming a mother. She gave birth to her first son in January 2022. “Whatever I’m doing, I just give it all I got because my time means something. I could be with my baby,” she said. “So while I’m here, I’m a make it worth it, you know what I’m saying? I just got a different motivation now. I just try to give my best and that’s all I can do.” She added: “Since I had my son, I’m a little more cautious now. Before I make music or appear in the role, I just think about when he turns 18, and people tell him who his mom is when he finally listens to my music. I just think of my legacy now because my son is my legacy. I just want him to feel proud about what his mama was doing, I would love that for him.”

Later in the interview, Kash Doll discussed her most recent project, Back On Dexter: A Gangsta Grillz Mixtape. The mixtape features Icewear Vezzo, Peezy, Payroll Giovanni, Sada Baby, YN Jay, Baby Money, and more. The 11-song effort arrived, earlier this month, ahead of her highly-anticipated sophomore album.

Bleu DaVinci Claims He Discovered Eminem Before Dr. Dre

Former BMF rapper Bleu DaVinci claims that he discovered Eminem before Dr. Dre signed the legendary Detroit rapper. DaVinci explained himself during a recent interview with Cam Capone News, recalling a time he brought Eminem to Priority Records head of A&R Andrew Shack. DaVinci says that he was just 16 years old at the time he found Eminem.

“I know how the whole label run at 16 years old,” the former BMF rapper said. “I brought fucking Slim Shady, Eminem to him, on my mama, anybody. Ask the Jewish man Andrew Shack, I brought Eminem to that first before Dr. Dre signed him. Me and Ras Kass was finna go to New York and just came from Maritime Hall in the Bay and I just watched Eminem perform for the first time, I took his tape and took him straight to the fucking head of A&R Andrew Shack. He was the head of A&R and then he became Vice President. He was the n***a that signed n****s!”

Bleu DaVinci On Eminem

“He was in the middle of doing the Rhyme & Reason soundtrack and I brought him Eminem,” DaVinci continued. He added that he wasn’t able to convince the label to sign him as he didn’t have any respect as a teenager. But when Dr. Dre eventually signed Eminem, Shack cussed DaVinci out. “Dr. Dre signed him why didn’t you tell me?’ I said I did tell you, muthafucka. He the hardest muthafuckin’ white boy I ever seen rapping in my life, that’s why I brought him in here,” DaVinci said. “I didn’t have to bring this shit in here … I was just 16 they wasn’t respecting my gangsta.” Eminem signed with Dr. Dre’s Aftermath Entertainment in 1998.

Eminem isn’t the only rapper that DaVinci brought up. He also claimed in the interview that Gucci Mane initially wanted to join BMF, but was turned down by Big Meech. “He was cool, and he used to try to get down with the mob, but Meech was telling n****s like, ‘Nah man, this n***a be out here robbing n****s and shit. We can’t have no n****s that’s known robbers.’ It wasn’t like he was some robber. N****s knew he would get down on a n***a type shit. So we kinda wasn’t doing that at the time. He always just been a friendly and always been the homie.”

2 Chainz & Ne-Yo Join The Cast Of 50 Cent’s “BMF”

50 Cent’s empire is expanding. Though things with Starz seemingly fell through, despite shows like Power and BMF generating massive revenue for the network, Fif hasn’t allowed this minor setback to impact his goals as a television mogul. The new season of Power Book II: Ghost is expected to debut next month while fans are at the edge of their seats to find out what happens next with the Flenory brothers and the Black Mafia Family empire during this season.

Though the cast of Power and BMF have traded shots at each other over the past few weeks, each has cemented its places on television must-watch lists. While the second season of BMF might be coming to an end soon, it’s apparent that the demand is high. STARZ recently renewed the show for a third season, which will likely debut next year. Already, 50 Cent began plotting out how he’ll expand the cast further and it seems he has some more star power to back it up.

2 Chainz & Ne-Yo Will Join The “BMF” Cast In Season 3

Over the years, we’ve seen how 50 Cent included many of hip-hop’s favorites in his television world. Kendrick Lamar appeared in the original Power series, Method Man and Mary J. Blige have roles in Power Book II, and Kash Doll has held it down on BMF as Monique. However, it appears that BMF will get even more star power in the near future with the inclusion of 2 Chainz and Ne-Yo. 50 Cent hit Instagram where he confirmed both artists will appear on BMF season 3.

According to Variety, 2 Chainz will take on the role of an Atlanta-born distributor named Stacks. “Fiercely loyal and determined to provide for his family no matter the cost, Stacks lives by the street code and challenges Meech’s leadership style,” Starz described Chainz’s role. Ne-Yo will also play the role of a local Atlanta hustler named Rodney “Greeny” Green whose primary focus is making money, though he’ll unveil layers to his character throughout the season. We’ll see how this all pans out in the next season but we’re certainly excited to see how they shape up to be on screen.

Kash Doll Defends La La Anthony’s Role In “BMF”

Viewers of a show or film will oftentimes associate the actor and or actress with their character outside of the show. Point in case, star La La Anthony. The former MTV personality has been under fire for her role in BMF on STARZ as of late. While she has talked about it in the past, it was co-star Kash Doll who spoke on her behalf last week.

The Detroit rapper and new mom was nearing the end of her NYC promo run when she was approached by TMZ reporters last Friday (Feb. 17). They asked her to share her thoughts on Markisha Taylor and Terry Flenory’s relationship, played by La La and actor Da’Vinci. The on-screen—rumored off-screen lovers—have eyes on them for the portrayal of an older woman having an affair with an up-and-coming drug kingpin still in high school. Especially since the show is largely based on the real lives of the Black Mafia Family.

Kash Doll Defends Co-Star La La Anthony

As Anthony’s name was mentioned, Kash Doll immediately came to her defense. “Why is it a problem if she’s acting it?” she questioned. “It ain’t like she’s dating him for real.” She went on to add that “a lot of it is not all the way true.” “[The show is] based on a true story but they[‘re] putting the lil’ sauce on it.”

Her response comes after backlash from BMF viewers since the season 2 premiere. Twitter user @taurusk_ tweeted: “So we just gonna breeze by La La Character in BMF being a child predator? lol.” Lala recently alluded to Markisha being the “older girlfriend” who forced Terry to step up and become a man in his late teens. During a visit to The Breakfast Club, Anthony spoke on her role and the woman who inspired it. The First Lady in question, Tonesa Welch, went on to share the interview and her grievances with the show as a whole. Big Meech is also providing his thoughts on the drama series. This was detailed by his son Lil Meech in a January interview. Let us know what you think about all of this, in the comments below.

Gucci Mane Couldn’t Be In BMF Because He Was A Known Robber

A new interview with BMF artist Bleu Davinci revealed that Gucci Mane wasn’t brought into the collective due to his criminal past. Moreover, Cam Capone News recently interviewed Davinci, who’s Black Mafia Family’s sole label artist. Furthermore, Capone asked him how they met the Atlanta rapper in the first place. In his explanation, Davinci went over the difference between their enterprise and the multiple lanes that Gucci strode. While his story was candid and didn’t necessarily antagonize the “Lemonade” star, many brought snitch allegations forth in the comments.

“Gucci’s a street n***a, he just be outside all the time and s**t, you feel me?” he began. “Gucci was like a part-time jackboy, part-time dope dealer, part-time rapper, Gucci was a slash man. I knew Gucci before I knew Jeezy, know what I’m saying? So Gucci used to always be in the clubs and s**t. Gucci already be in the club. On the wall, looking at n***as with a drink and s**t with his hat down and s**t like that, trying to get him a victim. You feel me? You know, he was cool. Meech knew him, he was cool.

Why Gucci Mane Didn’t Get Down With BMF

ATLANTA, GEORGIA – OCTOBER 08: Rapper Gucci Mane performs onstage during Day 1 of the 2022 ONE MusicFest at Central Park on October 08, 2022 in Atlanta, Georgia. (Photo by Paras Griffin/Getty Images)

“He even used to try to get down with the mob,” Bleu continued. “But Meech was telling n***as like, ‘Nah, man that n***a be out there robbing n***as and s**t, you feel me? We can’t handle n***as that’s known robbers getting down with the s**t.’ It wasn’t just that he was no robber, but n***as know that he gon’ get down on a n***a, you feel me? We just kind of wasn’t doing that at the time. He always been friendly, you know what I’m saying? Always been the homie. So when they made “So Icy,” we was promoting Jeezy.”

Meanwhile, many in the comments called out snitch behavior for mentioning Gucci’s crimes. “Is this snitching ?” one commenter asked. “Cause no one knew Gucci was a known robber.” However, others opted to look at the bright side. “Even tho he a rat it’s good to hear both sides of story,” one user expressed. Regardless of where you stand, come back to HNHH for the latest news on Gucci Mane and BMF.

Big Meech Slams “Power” As Lil Meech Feuds With Michael Rainey Jr. & Gianni Paolo

A beef brews between Starz actor, Lil Meech of BMF and the Power universe’s Michael Rainey Jr, who plays Tariq. Over the weekend, Lil Meech and Rainey Jr. began to trade barbs surrounding the success of their respective shows. Though 50 Cent pointed out the tension last year following the debut of BMF, he reignited the feud over the weekend once he praised Rainey. Meech reposted Fif’s photo, writing, “I’m working on being immortal @50cent these guys still mortal… Let’s go to lunch later I’ll give you some free game @michaelraineyjr.”

Lil Meech’s commentary launched into a war of words between him and members of the Power cast including Rainey and Gianni Paolo. Rainey called Meech a “beginner” while calling BMF “dead.” While he said that three BMF spin-offs were coming to overshadow the Power universe, he also slammed Rainey’s career. “U been acting since u was 12 years old… This is my 3rd year and it’s already looking scary for u,” he wrote. Paolo then brought up Meech’s gun arrest. “Boy u sound like the police ft u need a new job…. They not paying u enough to tell,” Meech replied.

Black Mafia Family’s Big Meech Reviews Power

It appears that Big Meech continues to tune into Power just as much as he’s watching BMF. The Black Mafia Family co-founder called his son following the feud with the Power cast and it’s quite clear which show he prefers. Though there’s an evident bias, he took issue with Rainey’s character, Tariq. He explained that Tariq has little to show for his hustle except for paying money to his attorney, played by Method Man. “He ain’t got a car, he ain’t got an apartment. He got nothing on the show,” Meech said over the phone. “He always in trouble on the show. Like, who the f*ck wanna go to college and be like him?”

Ultimately, it seems like Big Meech doesn’t respect Tariq as a hustler, though he did emphasize that he’s a fan of Power. Meech’s criticism comes from the place of a fan who watches the show regularly. However, he made it clear that Power can’t touch BMF. “It can’t be!” Meech said when his son stated that the Power cast believes Ghost is superior to BMF. “We know it’s fiction but… this dude is a college dude hustlin’ in 2022-2023 and he ain’t got nothin’. He got the feds all over his ass all the time… all you got is a hard time to go.” Check out Big Meech’s hilarious response above.

They touch down in the city, with the goal of finding cocaine to bring back home and sell in order to make up for some losses gained during the drought and following Meech’s shooting. The Winans — “Are We Really Doing Your Will?”

Precise x Sam Hook x Fredro — “Lyrical Genius”

At the 03:27 mark, Meech and Terry presumably make a stop in Cleveland to confront James for stealing money from them. It’s here that Meech beats him up and steals his car.

50 Cent — “Wish Me Luck” Feat. Charlie Wilson

This is the theme song of BMF. It plays at the 04:02 mark in “Moment Of Truth.” While it’s only 50 Cent and Charlie Wilson’s voices that are heard in this moment, the song also features Snoop Dogg and Moneybagg Yo.

Budda — “CPT”

At the 06:38 mark, Meech and Terry are finishing their drive to Atlanta. During the ride, Meech discovers that Terry has brought his school textbook with him on the ride. Meech throws it out of the window and scolds Terry for not being focused on the task at hand.

Crown — “‘80s Dance”

Around the 09:52 mark, this record can be heard as Meech and Terry enter an Atlanta strip club to meet a woman we eventually learn is Goldie. During this moment, Meech learns that Terry has feelings for someone but he doesn’t reveal that it is Markeisha.

Colon — “Celebrity”

A short time later, at the 11:35 mark, Meech and Terry enter a back room to meet Goldie. Terry requests a dice game with the hope that he and Meech can win some money to buy more cocaine, but as newcomers, Terry and Meech are cheated out of their game and lose $7,500 out of the $15,000 they had to their name.

Roger — “Love Ain’t Enough”

This record can be heard as Charles is fixing a cabinet at Mabel’s house. Before he can leave the house, Mabel invites him to a party she’s planning, and while Charles is initially hesitant to attend, he eventually accepts the invite.

LL — “HBCU Lacey Change 222″

Meech and Terry make their way to a high school game to meet an old friend from Detroit at the 21:03 mark. At this moment, their old friend tells them to meet him at his house later and Monique calls Meech to let him know that Denise will take on the drug charge in exchange for them paying for her son’s college tuition.

Arman — “One Dance”

Right around the 30:24 mark, Charles’ troublesome ways continue as he and Mabel dance together at a party that she’s throwing. At this point, it remained to be seen whether or not he will fall for Mabel’s trap, but we all know it didn’t take too long for that to happen

Crystal — “You Sent Him Over”

Just minutes later at the 34:54 mark, Charles officially falls for Mabel’s trap as the two have sex in a hallway of her house after the party. The scene was a quick one as it ended with Charles shamefully rushing out of the house and Mabel looking lustfully at him as he walked out.

City — “Smoke That”

At the 35:45 mark, Terry and Meech arrive at the dice game that they forced Goldie to bring them to in order to win back the money they lost playing a dice game at Goldie’s club. Terry and Meech enter the game under fake names with the goal of tricking their competitors into thinking that they’re not on the same team.

Extreme — “Serious”

This song briefly plays at the 38:25 mark as Charles reminisces on having sex with Mabel. Lucille and Nicole have also returned from their retreat and Lucille apologizes for her errors in their strained relationship.

Art of Noise — “Moments in Love”

After talking to each other, Lucille and Charles have their own sex scene at the 41:57 mark. Charles seems a bit hesitant to engage in an intimate moment with Lucille, especially with it being so soon after he had sex with Mabel, but here we are.

Marlon Osi — “Fresh White Sneakers”

At the 44:36 mark, B-Mickie beats up Kevin’s bully for Detective Bryant. B-Mickie approaches the three boys outside their school and starts punching one of them while daring the other two to defend their friend. This came after Bryant failed to get help from the school, or his reluctant son, to find a way to stop the bullying.

Travon — “We Gon Get Through This”

Travon’s “We Gon Get Through This” plays at the 48:53 mark to close the episode. It rings off after Lamar made a surprise visit to the Flenory house, something that could’ve ended very badly if it were not for some quick and hopeful thinking from Lucille.

New episodes of ‘BMF’ are available on the STARZ app on Fridays at 12:00 am EST and on the STARZ TV channel at 8:00 pm EST.
