Blxst And His New Lover Are Perfect For Each Other In The Warm Video For ‘Every Good Girl’

There’s no stopping Blxst’s hustle. The West Coast crooner made a big splash in 2020 with his debut project No Love Lost, and since then, he’s done nothing but provide great music to his growing fan base. The following year, he reconnected with frequent collaborator Bino Rideaux for their second joint project Sixtape 2, which came after he secured a spot in the 2021 XXL Freshman Class. Blxst’s streak of sharp releases continues with the arrival of his second solo project Before You Go. In addition to sharing the new body of work, he also drops off a brand new visual with it.

Blxst lays off a new video for “Every Good Girl.” The track arrives as an ode to a new romance where he deems himself and his lover as the ideal companions for each other. The video captures Blxst and his new girl enjoying some intimate moments together as they go for a drive by the water and take videos together.

Before You Go arrives with 13 songs and appearances from Arin Ray, Rick Ross, Grandmaster Vic, and Zacari who contributed to the project’s second single, “Sometimes.”

BLXST Releases ‘Before You Go’ Tracklist

Blxst Victor Burnett

It’s no secret that BLXST is up next. The California native may be on your playlist without You even knowing the genius behind the music. BLXST is most notable for viral singles such as “Be Alone,” “Overrated,” and “Chosen,” which all got the singer his props on social media.

As the rapper is gearing up to release his debut studio album, Before You Go, he decided to share the trackless of the upcoming project with fans this past Friday.

“I’m sure everybody can relate,” the 29-year-old tells HipHopDX. “Trying to balance being in the field while making sure home is happy but sometimes it ain’t as pretty as you want it to be.”

The 13-track album is expected to have guest appearances from Rick Ross, Arin Ray, Grandmaster Vic, and Zacari on the single “Sometimes,” released in March.

“First time I linked up with Blxst was at this studio house in Malibu and we made this song the first night we met. Working with BLXST was hella easy, it was organic we’re both quick on the mic so it flowed. It was tight working with another young west coast singer, we boutta take over. R.I.P Nate Dogg,”‘ Zacari added in a statement with the news outlet.

The entire project is expected to release on April 22nd. Will you be tuned in? Check out a few of the singer’s bops below.

Blxst Recruits Rick Ross, Zacari, Arin Ray, And More For His Upcoming Album, ‘Before You Go’

Blxst’s rise to stardom started back in 2020 with the release of his debut project No Love Lost. After releasing its deluxe reissue a few months later, the Los Angeles singer was well on his way to being one of music’s most popular new acts. Songs like “Chosen” with Ty Dolla Sign and Tyga helped to elevate his status as he eventually earned a spot on XXL 2021 Freshman Class list. That same year, he teamed up with fellow West Coaster and longtime collaborator Bino Rideaux for their second joint project Sixtape 2, and for 2022, Blxst is ready to step out on his own again.

Next week, Blxst will release his official debut album Before You Go. So far the project has been led by two singles, “About You” and “Sometimes.” The former was released with a music video starring Power Book II: Ghost star Paige Hurd. Before You Go presents 13 tracks and guest appearances from Arin Ray, Grandmaster Vic, Rick Ross, and Zacari. Buddy And Blxst Give A Laid-Back Performance Of ‘Wait Too Long’ On ‘The Tonight Show’

Compton rapper Buddy’s new album, Superghetto, is out now. To celebrate and promote its release, he and fellow SoCal artist Blxst stopped by The Late Show to perform their standout from the new project, “Wait Too Long,” looking cooler than a fan in matching black-on-black ensembles.

Buddy opens the performance lounging on an armchair with a telephone — a nifty callback to the song’s music video — as Blxst croons the catchy chorus backed by a mellow groove from the duo’s band.

Superghetto is Buddy’s first new album since his 2018 debut, Harlan & Alondra. The album, which features Ari Lennox, Blxst, Tinashe, and T-Pain, clocks in at a smooth 10 tracks and features “Black 2,” “Hoochie Mama,” and “Wait Too Long” as singles.

As fans awaited the new album, Buddy delivered a string of solid guest appearances on projects like Dreamville’s Revenge Of The Dreamers III, which landed him his first platinum plaque, and Guapdad 4000’s debut album, Dior Deposits, as well as Tinashe’s latest on the single “Pasadena.” Buddy also teamed up with fellow LA area artist Kent Jamz to release a joint mixtape, Janktape, Vol. 1, spawning the single “Bad Boys.”

Buddy’s ‘Superghetto’ Album Will Feature Tinashe, T-Pain, Ari Lennox, And Blxst

Buddy is just a couple of days away from releasing his long-awaited second album. The Compton native’s upcoming full-length effort, Superghetto, is set to be his first solo project since his 2017 debut album Harlon & Alondra. While it’s been a few years since Buddy released his debut, he’s been far from inactive during that time. He laid a collection of standout verses on Dreamville’s Revenge Of The Dreamers III, dropped Janktape Vol. 1 in 2020 with Kent Jamz, and he’s collaborated on songs with Lucky Daye, Guapdad 4000, D Smoke, and more.

Now, with Superghetto locked in to arrive on March 25, Buddy returns with the official tracklist for his sophomore album. Superghetto will gift listeners with ten songs, with two being singles that Buddy has already released: “Black 2” and “Wait Too Long.” Across the project’s ten songs, Superghetto will flaunt guest appearances from Tinashe, T-Pain, Ari Lennox, and Blxst. The songs with T-Pain, Ari, and Blxst will be Buddy’s first collaborations with them while the record with Tinashe will make for their third record together following “Glitch” and “Pasadena.”

Blxst Hits The Highway In His Unapologetic ‘Sometimes’ Video With Zacari

Blxst has been dominating the LA house party scene for something like two years now, and there’s still little to no agreement on whether he’s a rapper or a singer. With a delivery that falls somewhere between the melodic crooning of fellow LA-area hook masters Ty Dolla Sign and Eric Bellinger and the rhythmic, in-the-pocket flows pioneering by the city’s best, the only thing that anyone can agree on is that Blxst sounds cool as a fan. He keeps that tradition going on his latest release, “Sometimes” featuring TDE’s own quasi-rapping crooner, Zacari.

The unapologetic single finds the two performers looking to placate a riled-up romantic partner who thinks that the perpetually busy Blxst is up to no good as he chases the money out of town. “Runnin’ up the backend / I know you be thinkin’ I be cappin’,” Blxst croons. “But sometimes you be too much of a distraction.” Meanwhile, the video takes on a Route 66-ish appeal, as Blxst and Zacari cruise a desert highway in a convertible and post up outside a diner patronized by a biker club, with their performance scenes broken up by flashes of a house party where the female attendees run through some dynamic choreography.

Blxst has been on a roll in 2022, releasing his new single “About You” with a Malcolm & Marie-inspired video while contributing choruses to new songs by Wale, Fireboy DML, and Buddy.
