Just days after teaming with Madonna for a “Break My Soul” remix, Beyoncé has teamed with R&B legend Ronald Isley and The Isley Brothers for “Make Me Say It Again, Girl.” The single is a remake of the Isley Brothers classic from 1975’s The Heat Is On album.

This Beyoncé run may be her best yet. With Renaissance already sitting on top of the Billboard 200, Beyoncé now has taken control of the Billboard Hot 100 with “Break My Soul.” Pulling off a trifecta, Beyoncé also holds the top spot on the Artist 100 chart.

Beyoncé’s reign at the top of the Artist 100 is a first since the start of the chart in 2014. The Renaissance album is the seventh No. 1 for Beyoncé and bowed with 332,000 equivalent album units.

“Break My Soul” jumps from No. 6 to No. 1, giving Beyoncé her eighth No. 1 single. All 16 tracks of the Renaissance album are placed in the Hot 100.

Beyoncé is the fifth woman to lead the Artist 100, Hot 100, and Billboard 200 charts at the same time. The other four are Taylor Swift, Adele, Ariana Grande, and Camilla Cabello.

Kendrick Lamar Played A Tiny NYC Show With Jay-Z And Beyoncé In The Crowd

Kendrick Lamar is currently in the thick of his The Big Steppers Tour in support of his triumphant new album, Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers. This past weekend, the Compton rapper played three dates in New York City, with two nights at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on Friday and Saturday, followed by a Sunday show at UBS Arena in Long Island on Sunday. But that was clearly not enough of New York on-stage time for Lamar. So, on Saturday night, Kendrick played an intimate stripped-down performance at Brooklyn’s Dumbo House, where Jay-Z and Beyoncé were both in attendance and Kendrick tipped a cap to Jay-Z for a very specific reason.

In the stripped-down performance for what looks like less than 100 people, Kendrick was backed only by a keyboard and bass and when he was playing “The Heart Part 5,” he stopped mid flow to thank Jay-Z for clearing a lyric sample. “I say I do this for my culture,” he rapped, before delivering an aside to his esteemed guest: “Hov, good looking out for clearing that muthaf*cking line. You ain’t never… you ain’t never charged me for a muthaf*cking line, dog! You know, I really appreciate that sh*t.”

Some folks captured Jay-Z and Beyoncé leaving the members-only club (which is the Brooklyn outpost of the more well-known Soho House) after the performance, but not before Jay, Kendrick, Baby Keem, Tanna Leone, and Dave Free had time to pose for a photo together.

This was a special one for anyone in attendance, but one Dumbo House regular missed out on surprise. Give this dude a hug if you see him around town:

Beyoncé Bought The Stars Outside For “Club Renaissance” Her Secret Album Release Party

Beyoncé had a secret Renaissance party at the Times Square Edition hotel in NYC over the weekend and the celebs showed up and showed out for the star-studded event. Dubbed “Club Renaissance,” the bash was Bey’s version of Studio 54, challenging her guests to dress in their funkiest threads. Bey herself dazzled like a disco ball in vintage House of Timothy White and Tiffany & CO jewels with her husband by her side. 

The Studio 54-themed event was attended by famous faces like Kendrick Lamar, Chloe Bailey, and Lala just to name a few. Guests rose to the occasion and channeled their big disco energy with gold sequin, unbuttoned shirts with chest hairs hanging out, and their best silky smooth ensembles.  The secret party was definitely the event to be at, Quest Love confirmed it with one Tweet stating “I literally watched an entire club LOSE IT.” https://twitter.com/questlove/status/1555816733700669440?s=21

Having plenty to celebrate the Renaissance album debut at number 1. on the Billboard 200, marking the first album released by a woman in 2022 to land at the top. Renaissance is Queen Beys 7th Studio album and the first since 2016.

Beyoncé’s ‘Alien Superstar’ Has Fans Making Funny And Impressive Memes And Video Edits

Memes, trends, and challenges are in the making when it comes to Beyoncé’s Renaissance. First “Plastic Off The Sofa” inspired a vocal challenge for ambitious TikTok users. Now the idiosyncratic “Alien Superstar” is the center of attention.

The song is a particularly clubby anthem, bursting with sensual lyrics, chaotic rhythms, and an otherwordly texture. Check out some of the memes and videos below.

Keke Palmer has even joined in to praise the track. “If you woke up this morning, and you wasn’t sure what was going on with you, wasn’t sure if you felt good, you looked in the mirror and said, ‘Ugh,’ you know, you just didn’t feel like you were it, then turn up your radio and understand this,” she said with the song playing in the background, Bey’s vocals beginning just as Palmer finished speaking.

Before sharing Renaissance, Bey shared a statement about her intentions with the album. “Creating this album allowed me a place to dream and to find escape during a scary time for the world,” she wrote. “It allowed me to feel free and adventurous in a time when little else was moving.” It’s proving to serve as an escape and a source of freedom for her fans as well.

The song, up from No. 6 on last week’s chart, is Beyoncé’s eighth No. 1 solo single and first without a featured artist since “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)” in 2008. (Worth noting is that the Beyoncé-featuring remix of Megan Thee Stallion’s “Savage” was No. 1 in 2020, while Ed Sheeran and Beyoncé’s duet version of “Perfect” topped the charts in 2017.) It is now Beyoncé’s third No. 1 without a featured artist, following “Single Ladies” and 2006’s “Irreplaceable.”

“Break My Soul” is just the second 2022 song by a solo female artist to go No. 1, after Lizzo’s “About Damn Time,” which was on top for the previous two weeks.

Beyoncé’s ‘Renaissance’ Debuts At No. 1 With 2022’s Second-Biggest Week

When Beyoncé released Renaissance, it immediately became the talk of the music world for reasons both good and bad. It’s an album that people haven’t been able to stop listening to and now the charts reflect that: On the new Billboard 200 dated August 13, Renaissance debuts at No. 1, making it Beyoncé’s seventh solo no. 1 album. All of Beyoncé’s solo albums have now debuted at No. 1.

Renaissance finds itself on top thanks to 332,000 equivalent album units earned, which is good for the second-biggest week of the year, beaten only by the 521,500 units Harry Styles’ Harry’s House had during its debut week in May. It’s therefore also the biggest week for an album by a woman this year. Renaissance is also the first 2022 album by a woman to top the Billboard 200: The last one was Adele’s 30.

It’s only been about a week since Renaissance came out but the album has already undergone some significant changes. First, Beyoncé vowed to change the lyrics of “Heated” after a negative response to the use of an ableist slur. The album also made use of Kelis’ “Milkshake” but that musical nod has since been removed due to Kelis’ discontent, with her saying recently, “This was personal on many levels which people don’t understand.”

In the latest remix of Beyoncé‘s “Break My Soul,” the Renaissance hitmaker mashes up the hit single with another classic, Madonna’s “Vogue.” On the bridge of “Break My Soul (Queens Remix), Beyoncé updates Madonna’s iconic tribute to the icons of the past, shouting out the people who have inspired her in the past and continue to inspire her today.

“Queen mother Madonna, Aaliyah / Rosetta Tharpe / Santigold / Bessie Smith / Nina Simone / Betty Davis / Solange Knowles / Badu, Lizzo, Kelly Rowl’/ Lauryn Hill / Roberta Flack / Toni, Janet, Tierra Whack / Missy, Diana, Grace Jones / Aretha, Anita, Grace Jones / Helen Folasade Adu / Jilly from Philly, I love you, boo / Don’t just stand there, get into it / Strike a pose, there’s nothing to it,” she says on the Bridge

She later shouts out Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Michelle Williams, Chlöe and Halle Bailey, Alicia Keys, and Whitney Houston, saying, “Michelle, Chlöe, Halle, Aaliyah / Alicia, Whitney, Riri, Nicki.”

Since the remix’s release on Friday, several of the women have reacted to their name checks with glee.

“I ALWAYS BELIEVED IN ME NOW BEYONCÉ BELIEVE IN ME TOO,” said Lizzo in a tweet, with a video embedded of her sharing a story, saying, “I remember when I was telling my friend’s mom what my major in college was going to be, and I told her I was going to major in music performance, and she laughed in my face, she said, ‘Music performance? Like Beyoncé?’ and she laughed in my face. I only have one thing to say.” Lizzo then proceeded to play a portion of the bridge.

Santigold also took to Twitter, saying, “Thanks to @beyonce Queen Bey for shouting me out amongst these greats, and even more for takin’ it back! Letting the people KNOW about all these Black women, powerful powerful spirits, many of whom never received the acknowledgment they deserved!”

Jill Scott, to whom Bey refers as “Jilly From Philly,” reacted saying, “In a fast ass world, I register greatness gently, deliberately slower than admittedly most. I FEEL a thing & I can wholeheartedly say THIS IS MY FAVORITE LIFE. I LOVE YOU @Beyonce.”

On Instagram, Tierra Whack, who previously collaborated with Bey on The Gift companion album for the 2019 remake of Disney’s The Lion King, shared a clip of the song, captioning the video, “MY GOOD SIS @beyonce GON ALWAYS SHOW LOVE!”
