Gunna Puts His Charm On A Group Of Classic Video Vixens In The Video For ‘Bachelor’ With Turbo

At the top of the year, Gunna assured the world that 2024 would bring new music from the Atlanta rap star. While there’s still a little over 11 months for him to live up to that promise, the rapper continues to treat his loyal fan base. Back in November, Gunna and his longtime producer Turbo teamed up for their “Bachelor” single, and today the two delivered the music video for the track.

The new visual captures Gunna as the charming leader of a cast of ladies who are all familiar faces to the hip-hop world as they appeared in classic videos from the 2000s. KD Aubert (Fabolous’ “Into You”), Rosa Acosta (Drake’s “Best I Ever Had”), Eboni Jackson (50 Cent’s “Wanksta”), LaNisha Cole (Pharrell’s “Frontin”), Esther Baxter (Petey Pablo’s “Freek-A-Leek”), Tammy Torres (Lil Wayne’s “Mrs. Officer”), Bria Myles (Twista’s “Girl Tonite”) and Sasha Lee (David Banner’s “Play”) are all featured in the video. Gunna stands firm on his role as the leader as Turbo plays James Blake’s “Do You Ever” — the song sampled on “Bachelor” — on a grand piano. All in all, the new visual is both classy and flashy which is what we expect Gunna to be.

Turbo And Gunna Reunite for New Collaboration “Bachelor”

Hip-hop enthusiasts rejoice as the dynamic duo of producer Turbo and rapper Gunna have joined forces once again to deliver a new song. The track, aptly titled “Bachelor,” just dropped and fans are buzzing with excitement to see the two finally return together. This collaboration isn’t uncharted territory for Turbo and Gunna. In fact, they have a history of working together in the past. Typically, Turbo has been the mastermind behind the scenes, handling the production work for several of Gunna’s previous projects, including the critically acclaimed “Drip Harder,” “Drip Or Drown 2,” and “Wunna.” To name a few. Turbo’s production skills have consistently complemented Gunna’s lyrical finesse, creating hits that have resonated with fans worldwide.

However, Turbo made a shift from his role as a producer a few years ago when he ventured into the world of being a credited artist. His debut single in 2020, “Quarantine Clean,” featured guest verses from both Gunna and Young Thug, giving a glimpse of his versatility and artistry. Since then, fans have been eager to witness more of Turbo’s work. And overall, the song lives up to expectations. The new track incorporates a sample from James Blake’s “Do You Ever,” which prominently features a piano melody.

Stream “Bachelor”

The official cover art for “Bachelor” was unveiled by Turbo earlier in the week, featuring a sharply lit bouquet of roses, hinting at a sense of passion and romance. As far as Gunna, he has been relatively low-key in the media over the past few months, following a busy first half of the year. In fact, he’s been on quite the hot streak. His song, “fukumean,” from his album a Gift & a Curse, remains a chart-topping favorite, holding a prominent position in the Hot 100 and recently earning platinum certification.

With “Bachelor,” fans can expect the same level of excellence that Turbo and Gunna have consistently delivered in their previous collaborations. Their ability to create musical magic together is undeniable, and the new single is another jewel in their already impressive crown of hits.

Quotable Lyrics:

Who else you thinkin’ ’bout?
I can’t be callin’ your phone every day
F**k is you thinkin’ ’bout
This s**t ain’t loyal, then it’s gonna spoil your heart
Like the trash, you can take it out

Gunna And His Go-To Producer Turbo Will Flaunt Their Chemistry On Their Next Single, ‘Bachelor’

When asked by TMZ in September, Gunna playfully credited his recent weight loss to “lifting legs.” He made clear that was a sexual reference by pantomiming what he meant. So, it makes sense that Turbo chose Gunna as the featured artist on his upcoming single “Bachelor.”

Turbo, Gunna’s longtime producer, has been busy promoting his single on Instagram for over a month. Most recently, he posted the single’s official artwork — a bouquet of roses — alongside the caption, “Official Cover art for my new single Bachelor Ft. @Gunna dropping November 3 THIS FRIDAY! PRE SAVE THE SONG NOW! LINK IN MY BIO! Who else you thinking about.” Previously, Turbo had posted videos showing him listening the final “Bachelor” mix and master in his car and the live debut performance of the unreleased song. (As per setlist.fm, Gunna added it to his The Curse concert setlist on September 28 in Inglewood, California.)

Leading up to releasing solo material, Turbo was a credited producer on six of 15 tracks on A Gift And A Curse, Gunna’s latest album from June. Turbo also produced Young Thug’s “From A Man,” a single released in tandem with Mariah The Scientist’s “From A Woman” in mid-October.

New Music From Gunna & Turbo Coming This Friday: Listen To “Bachelor” Preview

The size of Gunna’s fanbase has gone through some dramatic changes in 2023. For starters, he was quickly labelled a snitch after taking a plea deal in the ongoing YSL RICO trial, leaving his longtime friend Young Thug behind in jail to fight for his freedom along with a handful of other defendants. Initially, it seemed as though the entire music industry had turned their back on the “Hot” hitmaker, but even without their support, he managed to turn heads with his a Gift & a Curse album in the spring.

That saw Gunna reflecting on the monotonous time he spent behind bars after his 2022 arrest. Since then, his approach to life seems to have totally changed, with health and wellness now being top priorities for the Southern artist. In addition to that, he’s been experimenting more musically as well, seemingly finding his bag in the Afrobeats genre. Everything that Wunna has shared with us lately has hit just right, leaving hip-hop heads hungry for more. Luckily, he previewed his next single, “Bachelor,” on Monday (October 23).

Gunna’s “Bachelor” Single Drops on October 27th

In the video above, Turbo (who’s responsible for producing the upcoming release), drives around blasting his work. “APPROVING FINAL MIX & MASTER [FOR] MY NEW SINGLE, ‘BACHELOR’ FEATURING @GUNNA,” he wrote in the caption. The single is set to debut on New Music Friday (October 27), marking yet another major accomplishment for the 30-year-old before the month is up. To begin October, his latest album was Certified Gold, and just days later, the LP’s most popular title, “fukumean” went Platinum. Friends were happy to celebrate Gunna and his success, and we’re sure those loyal to the multi-talent will do the same with his and Turbo’s new joint.

If today’s preview has you excited for what’s to come next for Gunna, be sure to show his other new release some love while you wait. Earlier this month the Georgia native connected with Victor Thompson and Ehis “D” Greatest to set the vibe with the “This Year (Blessings) [Remix].” Tap into that at the link below, and check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.
