Bronny James’ Worn Jersey Sells For Almost $40K At Auction

Bronny James and his father LeBron are the NBA’s first father-son teammate duo, making any memorabilia commemorating the former’s entry into the league a representation of history. Moreover, according to TMZ, Bronny’s first Summer League jersey (which he wore for a July 12 game against the Houston Rockets in Las Vegas) sold at an auction by Sotheby’s in mid-September for over $38,000. It now belongs to the “Lakers Shrine,” largely acknowledged among the world’s most lauded private Los Angeles Lakers collections. But who bought it? It’s David Kohler, the president and founder of SCP Auctions. He doesn’t have an auction of his own, but he also has worn and owned items from many legends like Kobe Bryant, Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul Jabbar… You name it.

During Bronny James’ July 12 game, he scored eight points in 27 minutes as his first taste of NBA action, although he hasn’t played a regular season game yet. The Lakers will open the regular season on October 22 against the Minnesota Timberwolves. “I’m just excited to go out there and learn and learn from the people playing in front of me,” Bronny had told reporters about his first games on the court. “And, if I get a chance to showcase my game, then I’m going to do that to the best of my ability.”

The “Lakers Shrine” That Now Hosts Bronny James’ Jersey

As for Kohler, he told TMZ that he wanted his hands on Bronny James’ jersey due to the historical factor we mentioned earlier. But otherwise, life moves on outside of the NBA, and we got some other updates regarding Bronny’s everyday happenings. Parker Whitfield recently confirmed that they’re dating thanks to a tender National Boyfriend Day post on social media.

Meanwhile, here’s what LeBron James himself said about his and his son’s dynamic on the court. “[He] cannot call me dad in the workplace,” he said on The Shop. “Once we leave out the private facility and the gates close, I could be dad again [and], in the car, if we ride together, at home I could be dad. We cannot be running down the court, and he’d be like, ‘Dad, push the ball up! Dad, I’m open! Dad, come on!’ He got to call me like ‘2-3’ or ‘Bron’ or, you know, ‘GOAT’ if he want to. It’s up to him.”

Dame Dash Roc-A-Fella Auction To Move Forward Despite Jay-Z Allegedly “Poisoning It”

Earlier this week, Judge Robert Lehrburger denied New York City’s motion to stay the auction of Dame Dash’s Roc-A-Fella stake. According to court docs obtained by AllHipHop, Lehrburger’s decision means that the question of whether or not Jay-Z will be able to terminate the label’s Reasonable Doubt copyright will not be answered ahead of the auction.

“Intervenor NYCDSS’s motion to stay the auction for purposes of having this court determine the validity of the copyright termination notice filed by Shawn Carter a/k/a Jay-Z in connection with the work Reasonable Doubt, an asset owned by [Roc-A-Fella], is denied,” the judge said. “The asset that is the subject of the auction is Dash’s one-third interest in RAF itself, not the work owned by RAF. The court does not presently have jurisdiction over the validity of Carter’s copyright termination notice.”

Judge Denies Motion To Stay Dame Dash Auction

The ruling comes after Gerald Singleton, attorney for the city, accused Jay-Z of having “poisoned the environment for the auction.” Jay-Z’s lawyer, Alex Spiro, later argued that it wasn’t the right time to work out Jay-Z’s rights to the album. “Put simply,” he explained. “This is not the appropriate time, forum, or case to litigate any issues relating to Jay-Z’s notice of termination.” Spiro also added that there was “no merit to NYC’s accusations.”

Judge Lehrburger additionally denied NYC’s motion to compel discovery of Roc-A-Fella before the Dame Dash auction. “The only subpoena directed to RAF of which the Court is aware is the one served by NYCDSS in state administrative proceedings,” he wrote. “No discovery subpoena has been served by intervenors in the instant action, nor should there be.” What do you think of a judge denying New York City’s request to stay Dame Dash’s Roc-A-Fella auction? JAY-Z’s Handling Of Dame Dash’s Roc-A-Fella Sale Slammed As “Extremely Damaging” By NYC Lawyers

JAY-Z is facing legal backlash from The City of New York through its Department of Social Services for his handling of Dame Dash’s attempt to sell off his stake in Roc-A-Fella. Gerald E. Singleton, an attorney for The City, has requested a pre-motion conference and stay of the auction sale. The move comes after JAY’s bombshell claim that copyright ownership of Reasonable Doubt will revert back to him in 2031 regardless of who buys Dame’s shares.

“JAY-Z has issued widely publicized statements warning potential bidders that copyright ownership will revert back to him in 2031,” Singleton wrote in a letter to Judge Robert W. Lehrburger, as caught by AllHipHop. “Those statements are false and extremely damaging to the City’s interests in ensuring that the auction will generate sufficient funds to satisfy all existing child support arrearages and secure future child support payments.” Additionally, lawyers for Roc-A-Fella are allegedly withholding critical royalty information, for which Singleton said The City will likely file motions for turnover orders against the company. “The auction should be conducted in a manner that will bring the highest price for the benefit of affected judgment creditors,” Singleton added.

Dame weighed in on the latest update on Instagram on Sunday night, denying the validity of JAY-Z’s recent claims. “The State of NY has stepped in and filed the following to the courts… Jay-Z’s statements to the press have poisoned the environment for the auction,” he began. “He has claimed that he has a termination right under the Copyright Act and that the rights to Reasonable Doubt will revert to him in six years. In fact, he has no such termination right and RAF is entitled to the renewal term, which is now 67 years, meaning it will own the copyright rights until the year 2098. In other words, the highest possible auction price could be more than ten times higher than is likely now, given Jay-Z’s and RAF actions. RAF is complicit by its inaction in pushing back against such false statements.”

Dame Dash’s Roc-A-Fella Auction Postponed Over Massive Child Support & Tax Debts

Dame Dash’s one-third stake in Roc-A-Fella Records was set to be auctioned off by the U.S. government on August 29, but now, the auction has been pushed back by nearly a month. It will now take place on September 22. The sale is intended to cover an $823K judgment Dash owes Josh Webber, who along with Muddy Water Pictures, sued him for copyright infringement and defamation in 2022.

According to Billboard, however, both New York City and the state want money from the sale too. Reportedly, he owes $197,000 in unpaid child support, as well as a whopping $8.7 million in unpaid taxes. Judge Robert W. Lehrburger explained in his ruling that the delay would allow more time to set a higher minimum bid. Webber’s attorney has a plan for how to disburse the money, which he made alongside the city and state, though Dash’s lawyer Natraj Bhushan was not involved.

“We look forward to upcoming court conference so that all interested parties can be heard and the court can decide who gets what, and in what priority from the forthcoming public auction,” Bhushan says. The delay comes shortly after Jay-Z’s team filed a notice about the rights to his 1996 album Reasonable Doubt, Roc-A-Fella’s only asset. In 2031, the rights will officially go to him, meaning that whoever wins the auction will only get one-third of the album’s revenue for about six years.

Dash responded to this with a rant on Instagram Live. “They had some bum-a** board meeting and all of a sudden he gets first right of refusal. I don’t really care. It don’t slow nothing down for me,” he explained. “Now I don’t know how deep homie’s pockets is. I’m curious if he’s gonna match that. I put an offer on the table, lemme see if he’ll match it. But it was from other people.” What do you think of the planned auction of Dame Dash’s Roc-A-Fella shares getting delayed? Dame Dash Reveals How He Got So “Broke” Before Roc-A-Fella Auction

It’s no secret that Dame Dash has dealt with some financial issues in recent years. Currently, he’s gearing up to watch his Roc-A-Fella shares be auctioned off by the government. The auction is scheduled for later this month, and the minimum bid is $1.2 million. Profits from the sale will reportedly go to Josh Webber and Muddy Waters Pictures, who won a massive defamation and copyright lawsuit against Dash in 2022.

Ahead of the auction, he chatted with fans on Instagram Live, providing them with an update on his financial status. He answered one of fans’ most frequent questions, which is how exactly he’s gotten to this point. According to him, it wasn’t actually all that difficult.

Dame Dash Claims Investing In His Dreams Made Him Broke

“Somebody asked me how I got so broke,” he began. “Investing in my dreams. You know, when you’re investing in your dreams and you dream big, you’re always gon’ be broke. You’ll have a lot of sh*t but I don’t have no money for nobody else if that’s what you call broke. That’s what it is. Either way, I’m get with y’all. Stay tuned. I’m curious to see how it all rolls out.” Dash’s latest update arrives just days after he promised to sweeten the deal for whoever ends up buying his portion of Roc-A-Fella.

In a clip that surfaced earlier this week, he revealed that he’ll be gifting “an original Roc-A-Fella chain from around [his] neck” to the buyer. “If I don’t give you the chain, it’s not a legit Roc-A-Fella chain,” he added at the time. Jay-Z Files Notice About Future “Reasonable Doubt” Rights Before Dame Dash Auction

Dame Dash had been trying to sell his Roc-A-Fella shares for some time, but earlier this month, it was revealed that the U.S. Marshall would publicly auction off his 33.3% interest in the company. The auction is scheduled for later this month, according to TMZ, and it looks like Jay-Z is getting prepared. Recently, the hitmaker’s attorneys filed a notice that the rights to his 1996 album Reasonable Doubt will switch from Roc-A-Fella to Shawn Carter come 2031.

The outlet also notes that the rights would have gone back to Jay-Z 35 years after the album’s release anyway. The filing simply makes it official. This means that whoever ends up winning the auction later this month will get one-third of Reasonable Doubt revenue for only about six years. The minimum bid is $1.2 million.

Anyone interested in the auction has been encouraged to email Christopher Brown, Josh Webber’s attorney. Webber and Muddy Waters Pictures won a massive civil suit against Dash back in 2022 over defamation and copyright infringement. He’s accused of telling people he owned the rights to the film Dear Frank, which Webber and Muddy Waters Pictures produced, despite having been dropped from the project. Reportedly, the auction is intended to cover the judgment.

Again, this comes after Dame Dash unsuccessfully tried to sell his Roc-A Fella shares for years. Last month, Lupe Fiasco even hopped online to suggest that Drake buy them. What do you think of Jay-Z filing a notice that the rights to Reasonable Doubt will be his in 2031? What about them going up for auction later this month to cover a civil suit judgment? Dame Dash Will Reportedly Have Roc-A-Fella Shares Auctioned Off After Sale Attempts

It looks like Dame Dash will finally fulfill his years-long mission to sell off his shares in Roc-A-Fella… but not on his own terms. Moreover, TMZ Hip Hop reports that the U.S. Marshall will publicly auction off his 33.3% interest in the company he co-founded with Jay-Z and Kareem “Biggs” Burke at an August 29 Manhattan event, according to supposed legal documents reportedly obtained by the publication. Apparently, hopefuls will have to email attorney Christopher Brown in order to register to appear at the auction. Brown represents Josh Webber, a film director who won an $800K-plus civil judgement against the music executive two years ago over copyright infringement and defamation.

Along with Muddy Waters Pictures, Webber produced the film Dear Frank and sued Dame Dash for allegedly falsely claiming to folks that he owned the rights to the film even after the project dropped him. According to TMZ, the court documents specify that this auction for the Roc-A-Fella shares is to cover this judgement, and that Hov’s Reasonable Doubt is the Roc’s biggest asset. The minimum bid for Dash’s shares must be at least $1.2 million at the auction. We’ll see who ends up with this historically contentious and now infamous stake.

Dame Dash’s Roc-A-Fella Shares Will Be Up For Auction

Furthermore, this comes after Dame Dash tried to sell his Roc-A-Fella shares, including Reasonable Doubt, on multiple occasions, none of which had proved successful. However, Lupe Fiasco had an interesting proposal regarding this, as he asked Drake to buy Dame’s shares.

@champagnepapi will keep it safe for generations to come,” the Chicago MC expressed on social meida. “This is grail and influenced an innumerable amount of rappers to see it peddle such a lack of grace genuinely hurts my feelings a little bit. But also on savages s**t f**k it…either donate it to a museums for safekeeping or seriously let Drake make an offer so he can put in where it needs to be. Or just keep the s**t OG you should be infinitely proud of this. Without it there is no me as I am and I’m sure other MC’s will agree.” We’ll se whether Aubrey Graham will hit up the Big Apple on August 29.

6ix9ine Officially Loses His Cars After Being Auctioned Off By The IRS

6ix9ine’s career continues to be in a tailspin after losing two cars at a recent IRS auction (no pun intended). According to XXL, the GSA (General Services Administration) closed of the bidding war for the Bushwick, Brooklyn native’s 2019 Lamborghini Urus and his 2017 Bentley Continental GT Speed. The final price for each high-performance luxury vehicle are as follows. For the Lambo SUV, the winning bidder is taking it home for $175,043. There were a total of 30 people making offers. Then, for the massive coupe, the final number hit $85,500 with 16 vying for it. Originally, both automobiles were listed at $20,000 on July 8. Overall, it is a little surprising that they did not sell for a little more.

However, these brands do poorly with depreciation. Furthermore, with each car having in a paint-splattered wrap on top of an over-the-top paint job, it does begin to make sense. If you remember, 6ix9ine had these vehicles seized by the IRS from his Lake Worth, Florida home this past April. He was not on the premises when the division of the U.S. Treasury department swooped in. Several videos of the cars being shown after the fact went quite viral as well.

6ix9ine Loses His Two Cars For Over $260,000 At Hands Of IRS

This all stems from a $9,825,000 lawsuit back in 2021 from Alexis Salaberrios, an exotic dancer at the Gold Rush Cabaret in Miami. She was struck by a bottle thrown by 6ix9ine after he was allegedly called a rat by someone at the club. It led to that outburst and Salaberrios receiving a nasty head injury. All of this continues to beg a lot of questions surrounding the future of 6ix9ine.

What are your thoughts on 6ix9ine losing his cars to an IRS auction? How do you feel about the prices for each one? Is the rapper’s image completely in the trash, or can he come back from all of this? What should be his next move? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments. 6ix9ine’s Seized Vehicles Appear On Government Auction Website

Back in April of this year, it was reported that two of 6ix9ine’s vehicles were seized due to alleged “nonpayment of internal revenue taxes.” The vehicles included a Lamborghini Urus and a Bentley Continental GTC, which are both decorated with rainbow paint splatters. Of course, their unique design made them pretty tough to miss, and photos of them at a facility were quick to turn up online. Shortly after, it was revealed that his entire Florida home had actually been raided, and that authorities took several more of his belongings too.

At the time, 6ix9ine was in the Dominican Republic sorting out some other legal issues. Late last month, he returned to the U.S., though it’s unclear whether or not he plans to stay. What is clear, however, is that he’s unlikely to get his cars back. According to No Jumper, they’re currently up for auction on a government website.

6ix9ine’s Vehicles Have Starting Bids Of $20K

Bidding is set to begin tomorrow (July 8), and each of the vehicles has a starting bid of $20K, which is expected to increase quickly once bids start to roll in. Based on photos from the site, one of the vehicles still has what appears to be a bullet hole in his driver side window, which sparked some concern and speculation shortly after it was confiscated. At the time of writing, it still remains unclear exactly when and how that happened.

6ix9ine has yet to comment on the seizure of his vehicles, or the upcoming auction. What do you think of 6ix9ine’s vehicles showing up on a government auction site? What about them being confiscated due to his alleged failure to pay taxes? How much to you think they’ll end up being auctioned off for?
