2Pac And Biggie Mugshots Hit Auction Block

Never-before-seen mugshots of 2Pac and Biggie will be sold at auction next month. The incredibly rare images. along with pristine footage of Biggie’s final concert, are being sold by GottaHaveRockAndRoll. The footage, from the Sting Festival in Jamaica, is said to be clear and beyond any similar footage circulating online. Furthermore, the seller says that the buyer will own the copyright to the footage. Additionally, they will also receive a copy of Biggie’s festival agreement with Sting.

The festival footage is expected to sell for anywhere between one and two million dollars. Meanwhile, the mugshot polaroids are each expected to fetch as much as $40K. Biggie’s mugshot also comes with a thank you note that the rapper wrote in jail. The auction is set to run from October 25 to November 10.

In other news regarding never-before-seen things relating to 2Pac, the murder trial surrounding his death is said to be using brand-new evidence. Local news outlets in Vegas reported earlier this month that never-before-seen photos and videos of the 1996 crime scene will be presented when Duane “Keefe D” Davis goes to trial. The evidence was first presented to the grand jury that indicted Keefe last month.

Keefe D, the uncle of 2Pac’s alleged killer Orlando Anderson, was arrested late last month in connection with the murder. Keefe D has been open for many years about his involvement in the murder. He has claimed that it was a revenge killing after Pac and others jumped Anderson earlier in the night. Furthermore, Keefe claims to not only have witnessed the killing, but being as involved as to have handed Anderson the gun that killed Pac. Keefe was arraigned on October 4 but no date has been set for his trial at the time of writing.

Undisputed King of Pop Michael Jackson continues to captivate fans and collectors alike even beyond his untimely passing in 2009. Iconic memorabilia associated with the legendary entertainer often are sold for high prices at auctions. And a new addition to this growing list is the black and white leather jacket Jackson wore during one of his 1984 “Pepsi Generation” ads. While this jacket may not be as instantly recognizable as some of his other iconic outfits, it undoubtedly holds immense historical and sentimental value.

This custom-made leather jacket is now set to be auctioned off through Propstore, with bidding opening on November 10. The estimated value of this piece of music history is substantial, with projections ranging from $230,000 to a staggering $460,000. Given its remarkable provenance and the fact that it once adorned the King of Pop’s shoulders, it’s very likely to reach the upper end of that estimate.

The remarkable journey of the jacket adds another layer of intrigue and value. In a twist of fate, the jacket was initially gifted to Wendell Thompson by Michael Jackson himself in 1983, a year prior to the ad’s release. Wendell, whose father worked as a cosmetologist with MJ, was fortunate enough to cross paths with the legendary singer in Orlando. Tom Brady’s Jersey From Final NFL Game To Hit Auction Block Next Month

A game-worn Tom Brady jersey from the last game of his NFL career has been put up for auction by Sothesby’s. The lot will be sold at the auction the famed house is holding at the first-ever Las Vegas Grand Prix. The jersey comes from the Buccaneers’ 31-14 Wild Card loss to the Cowboys in January 2023. Furthermore, the piece is valued at $2.5 million, which would make it the most expensive game-worn NFL jersey ever to sell at auction. The current record is held by a Joe Montana jersey that the Niners legend wore during two Super Bowls. That sold for $1.2 million earlier this year.

However, game-worn jerseys isn’t the only memorabilia that Brady is getting into lately. Last weekend, the NFL legend stopped by a trading card store in New Jersey for their Rip Night. Meanwhile, the trading card event was shocked to have such big-name guests. Furthermore, this caused the parking lot to become flooded with fans as the store only had a capacity of 100. Brady embraced the nature of the event, trading cards with fans and kids in attendance.

“This was incredible. Unreal. I did not expect the turnout. We were notified on short notice. We talked to the kids and got them involved. The smiles on these kids’ faces. The experience of trading their own cards with an athlete and celebrity is an experience they’ll probably never have again,” store owner Jon Riffle told TMZ. Furthermore, Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin also attended the event.

Michael Jordan’s Copy Of “To Kill A Mockingbird” Goes Up For Auction

In 1995, acclaimed author Harper Lee sent Chicago Bulls star Michael Jordan a signed copy of her book To Kill A Mockingbird. The book had just turned 35 and Lee sent out a select number of signed copies to celebrities she was connected to. One of those people was Jordan. “To Michael Jordan. Best wishes, Harper Lee,” the simple note reads on the first page. It’s unclear what connection Lee and Jordan shared but it was another for Jordan to get the special treatment.

The book remained in Jordan’s possession until 2006 when it was taken by his ex-wife Juanita Vanoy as part of their divorce settlement. Additionally, the book was later acquired by a private collector. Now the book will go up for sale via an auction overseen by Moments in Time. While the price is only revealed on request, TMZ has confirmed that the auction house is seeking $24,000 for the one-of-a-kind item.

Despite its one-of-a-kind status, $24,000 is an absolute bargain for Michael Jordan memorabilia. The most expensive Michael Jordan auction was for a game-worn jersey from Game 1 of the ’98 Finals. That sold for $10.1 million in September 2022. The copy of To Kill A Mockingbird does hold some value though. In 2019, a basketball signed by Jordan during his rookie season was sold for $22,000. Meanwhile, a signed photo of Jordan dunking on Magic Johnson sold for $29,000 in 2014. Additionally, a set of game-used golf clubs sold for $26,000 in 2019.

But what about book auctions? Where does this one-of-a-kind item stack up? Well, if you thought sports collectors were bad… The record sale of a book at auction was set earlier this year. In May 2023, the Codex Sassoon, a near-complete Hebrew Bible dating back to the 9th or 10th century, sold for $38.1 million. It was purchased by the American ambassador to Romania, who gifted it to the ANU Museum of the Jewish People in Tel Aviv. Meanwhile, the most expensive sale of a printed document was set in 2021. That record belongs to a first printing of the US Constitution, which was sold for $43.2 million.

BET Auction For $3 Billion Reportedly Called Off By Paramount

One of the most significant entertainment media sales in recent years has apparently been called off. Moreover, new reports from the New York Post indicate that Paramount is no longer selling BET, which was a prospect that bolstered Black entrepreneurs, businessmen, and entertainers to take ownership of the Black-centered network. Not only that, but the cancellation of a $3 billion auction for BET was reportedly because Tyler Perry’s offer for it was too low. Many looked to him as the creative who seemed best poised to acquire the company under his leadership. However, with this new report, it seems like its future still hangs in the balance.

Furthermore, the Post‘s article cites an allegedly close source to Paramount, who said that they notified bidders of the decision on Wednesday (August 16). “We made this decision because the benefits of maintaining a majority stake in BET Media Group creates more value for Paramount than any of the proposals we received,” the source reportedly told the publication. Another bidder in this debacle was a similarly legendary executive, Byron Allen, who also had a lot of public support.

Regardless, the report suggest that the source painted Paramount as a conglomerate that sought a sale “which could return the asset to Black ownership.” In addition, they apparently wanted a “party that could be a good partner and responsible steward of the assets and the mission.” Apparently, JPMorgan, Paramount’s sell-side bank, failed to provide financing to suitors upon the auction’s commencement, thus placing doubt in BET Group’s strength. Also, it didn’t predict BET’s earnings during the process, which caused further concern, and the source claimed that Allen offered $3 billion for it late in the game.

Meanwhile, the Post‘s report also alleged that Paramount wanted Perry to push his offer up some more. It’s important to note that he already owns a 25% stake in BET+, the media company’s streaming service. As such, it seems like it will be a little longer until we know for sure what will happen to BET, and how hopeful owners circumvent this. $100K Cardi B Mic Auction Falls Through

The eBay auction to sell the microphone Cardi B threw into the crowd at a show in Vegas has hit a snag. As Cardi performed “Kodak Yellow”, an audience member threw their drink at the rapper. In response, Cardi threw her microphone at the offender before security intervened. Various stories have since emerged about the incident, including footage of Cardi asking to have water poured on her. Cardi was also briefly treated as a suspect in a battery case. The woman who the mic struck, who claims not to be the same woman as the one who threw the drink at Cardi, attempted to press charges.

After closing with a top bid of $99,900, the winning bidder failed to pay up. Per Scott Fisher, the man behind the auction, the bidder didn’t pay within an established 48-hour window and did not respond to multiple messages. Fisher had planned to donate the proceeds to charity and will contact the second-highest bidder instead. If that also falls through, Fisher has said that he will pursue a private auction instead. Elsewhere, a case company in Ohio donated a custom case to hold the mic once it is sold.

More Money News For Cardi B

Of course, a $100,000 mic is not the only money news that Cardi has been involved in as of late. The saga of Tasha K’s $4 million debt to the rapper remains more prevalent than ever. Last week, the notorious blogger told the courts that she did not possess the ability to pay the massive penalty. This is especially after filing for bankruptcy in June. However, Cardi has asked the courts not to erase Tasha’s’ outstanding debt.

Despite Tasha apologizing, saying “Talk about a check my mouth can’t cash,” Cardi and her legal team are insistent the debt be paid. “[The] defendant was given multiple opportunities to retract the false and defamatory statements and videos, but [the] Defendant steadfastly refused to do so,” Cardi’s legal motion read in part. A judge is yet to rule on the motion.

Eminem Auctions Off One Of A Kind Item To Fans

Auctions of celebrity memorabilia are pretty common. They’ve been making news in the hip-hop scene in recent weeks and now yet another one is under way. This time it’s Eminem whose auctioning a rare item off. The item in question is an extremely rare signed copy of the rapper’s debut album Infinite. The album originally released on vinyl in an extremely rare 500 count run. Some of the proceeds from the auction will go towards the rapper’s Marshall Mathers foundation for at-risk youth. According to All Hip Hop, Goldin, the marketplace who is selling the rare collectable, received it from Em’s longtime manager Paul Rosenberg.

The specific piece is autographed by Eminem and is a special media copy of the record which features the “8 Mile” address on the label. The auction opened up at an impressive $25k and i expected to run until September 13th. In an accompanying statement Goldin explained the meaning behind the piece and the auction. “This album represents the humble beginnings of an icon, a piece of music history and is a symbol of Eminem’s relentless rise to greatness. This valuable piece will not only enrich the collection of a fortunate buyer but also uplift the lives of those in need as a portion of the proceeds will support the Marshall Mathers Foundation in its mission providing assistance to disadvantaged and at-risk youth.”

Cardi B’s Thrown Microphone Sells For Almost $100k At Auction

In one of the most viral moments of the year so far, late last month Cardi B threw her microphone at a fan while on-stage. More and more details rolled out in the days following. Though Cardi had asked someone to douse her with water to fight the Las Vegas heat, the fan appears to have thrown some kind of alcohol on her. She also may not have the best aim the world, as the fan who was hit by the microphone insists that they weren’t even the one who threw the drink. It all culminated in an investigation into the incident for potential battery charges by the Vegas police department. That investigation ultimately led to no charges being filed against Cardi.

Last week, the microphone that Cardi threw popped up for sale on eBay. Cleary fans were serious about wanting the piece of Cardi B memorabilia as more than 120 bids were placed on the item. According to TMZ, what began as a mere $500 auction quickly elevated into something much more substantial. The auction wrapped up Tuesday morning revealing that the microphone sold for an astounding $99,900. The microphone was reportedly auctioned off by the production company who owns it. The company also claims that the proceeds will be donated to two charities.

Just last week Cardi B and Offset released their new collaboration “JEALOUSY.” The song played into their public roles as a couple and featured plenty of hilarious bars throughout.
