Ferg has officially dropped A$AP from his name, which has led to some confusion and speculation among fans. However, none of this has stopped him from dropping new music. Overall, the last few months have seen Ferg deliver a plethora of intriguing new songs that have piqued the interest of fans. For now, it remains unclear whether or not a new album is on the horizon. What we do know, is that Ferg is still very much interested in blessing his fanbase with some new music. For instance, this morning, he dropped off a new banger called “Off White Rozay.”

This is a song that is filled with off the wall production that is most certainly going to take you a few bars to get used to. However, once it clicks, it really falls into place. Meanwhile, Ferg brings a ton of energy to the song, which is always appreciated. His energy has always been on point, but that is especially true on this latest cut. This is the kind of song you could hear at a house party, and we’re sure Ferg had that in mind while recording the track. Only time will tell whether or not this run of singles culminates in a new project.

Ferg Drops ASAP From His Name For New Release, “MDMX”: Fans React

Ferg has shared his first song since dropping the ASAP moniker from his name, prompting surprise and concern from fans of the group on social media. The long-time ASAP Mob member shared a music video for the track, “MDMX,” on his YouTube page, on Monday.

Fans had mixed responses to the move. Many expressed their shock such as one user who commented on the video: “Ferg took A$AP out his name???” Another fan remarked: “Damn the Era of Ferg (No ASAP).” Others were more confident in Ferg choosing to carve his own path. “It’s weird without A$AP, but guess he went his own way,” one fan commented. One more wrote: “A$AP not being in his name isn’t that big a deal, the spirit of the collective died with Yams. Good to see Ferg back at it.”

Ferg previously announced his decision to drop ASAP from his name after inking a deal with JAY-Z’s Roc Nation back in 2021. In a press release from the time, the imprint said: “Ferg is very much still part of the Mob, and is A$AP Ferg within A$AP Mob… Ferg as an individual artist and with his solo career is Ferg.” In that vein, Ferg recently linked up with ASAP Rocky on Instagram Live to tease new music.

Ferg Shares Music Video For “MDMX”

Rocky previously discussed his relationship with Ferg during an appearance on Drink Champs in 2020. He said at the time: “Everything’s lovely, man. We all blessed to be here. Everybody doing they thing and everybody’s eclectically kind of like progressively being creative, doing they own thing… The hardest thing to do is to keep a group together and sh*t like that. Suspects In ASAP Press Murder Sentenced To Decades In Prison

Seven years after Chester Taylor and Darius Hastings shot ASAP Press in the back of the head, the New York State Supreme Court found them both guilty of his death. For those unaware, the A$AP Mob member survived the shooting initially, but succumbed to a fatal seizure in 2018 which stemmed from the attack’s lingering head injury. Moreover, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg Jr. sentenced the two men to 20 years to life in state prison on two counts second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. In addition, the crimes at hand include second-degree murder and first-degree assault, according to a press release.

Furthermore, their connection stems from ASAP Press reaching out to Taylor through a mutual friend in July of 2016. Press needed a luxury car for a music video shoot, and Taylor set the rent price at $1,000 for two cars, which Press mostly paid off upfront weeks later. However, Taylor did not provide the vehicles as agreed, and the Harlem native’s attempts to get his money back were unsuccessful. This kept going on for quite some time, at least for a full month before things escalated.

ASAP Mob Mourns Its Fallen Member Press

In late August of 2016, Taylor threatened ASAP Press over his consistent attempts and warned him to call it quits over the phone. It’s also possible that Press made threats in the other direction, but regardless, after this series of text message interactions, Taylor contacted his friend, Hastings. They met up with the collective member in Harlem and shot him, but he survived. Years later, while attending a music festival in Houston, Press passed away, and a medical examiner found that the seizure directly related to the shooting’s head injury.

“Chester Taylor and Darius Hastings shot and killed a young Harlemite with great ambitions, talent and a bright future,” the Manhattan D.A. remarked. “Although Pressie Taylor Jr. miraculously survived the shooting in its initial aftermath, his life was forever changed. He made a valiant attempt at resuming his life and music career, but unfortunately, he succumbed to the effects of his serious injuries, depriving his family and community of a promising star. Thanks to the jury’s careful review of the evidence, both defendants were found to be responsible for his murder. ASAP Twelvyy Proclaims That “Kids Gotta Eat” On New Album

A$AP Twelvyy is back with a vengeance on his latest album Kid$ Gotta Eat, a 15-track offering of intricate rhymes and varied production. Moreover, this is his first full-length project since 2020’s Noon Yung, so it’s been a really long time since we’ve heard from him in this capacity. Fortunately, Kid$ Gotta Eat contains a little bit of everything: drumless introspection, bass-heavy trap bangers, boom-bap-style throwbacks, and even some Jersey club-reminiscent cuts in there. In addition, there are a few songs here that pull heavily from should and R&B, whether thanks to its samples or the instrumentation itself.

As such, this album flows quite erratically from track to track, but each track still has the potential to sink you into it within seconds. Also, some smooth transitions between songs make the experience a little more easily digestible for those who want to stay on one speed. Overall, it’s also a compelling collection of personal narratives, whether about ASAP Twelvyy’s neighborhood, his career come-up, or his observations of his surroundings. While this is a tried and true formula for an established career’s release, the New York MC still shows his hunger and writing ability on here. Elsewhere, he’s still able to fit a banger quite well with varied flows and a confident delivery.
