Lil Reese Is Serving A 5 Year Prison Sentence

Lil Reese was sentenced to five years in prison after being found guilty of assaulting a family member back in March 2022. The sentence was handed out on October 16 in Harris County, Texas, as caught by HipHopDX. He’ll be eligible for parole in August 2026 with a release date currently set for February 6, 2029.

Reese was previously arrested and held on a $60,000 bond for the assault in May 2022. Further details are unclear. It’s just one of several incidents the 31-year-old rapper has faced legal trouble for in recent years. This September, he was arrested for allegedly punching and strangling his ex-girlfriend at a strip club in Houston. Before that, a woman accused him of allegedly raping her, although the case was later dismissed in court. “So today was my first court date for the false ass sh*t that b*tch said I did and guess what case dismiss I wanna see they post and put this all around like they did when they said I rapped [sic] a lien b*tch,” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter) at the time.

Lil Durk Accused Of Conspiring To Take Out Witnesses In His Murder Case

Lil Durk continues to face bad news in his federal case for alleged murder-for-hire conspiracy, which now has two cases to deal with. The first concerns the shooting of Lul Pab in what was allegedly a targeted attack on Quando Rondo in Los Angeles in retaliation for King Von’s murder. The second – and most recently revealed one – concerns the 2022 murder of Stephon Mack, which police believe was in retaliation for the murder of Durk’s brother Dontay “DThang” Banks. However, this last case is not something that the Chicago rapper received an official charge for yet, and the case remains open.

Now, alleged legal filings reportedly obtained by AllHipHop provide more details as to the prosecution’s claims against Lil Durk. Authorities accused him of offering payments to eliminate witnesses and individuals tied to this open 2022 case, including a witness’ family member. In this case, 24-year-old Gangster Disciples member Stephon Mack was fatally shot in Chicago in January of 2022. Smurk’s legal team hasn’t responded to these new allegations at press time, but they denied any and all wrongdoing at the onset of this case.

“Lil Durk’s modus operandi is clear,” prosecutors claimed in court documents. “He will use his power, his money, and his influence […] to endanger anyone who he perceives as a threat, including witnesses in this case.” In addition, they also alleged that these bounties came into effect via intermediaries despite Durk’s incarceration and public scrutiny. Apparently, these revelations in these newly obtained court filings contributed to a federal judge’s denial of bond for The Voice, but it’s unclear whether the defendant will continue in his efforts to secure bail.

Meanwhile, though, some other updates in Lil Durk’s life are much more heartening, which probably balances out some of his stronger challenges. Primarily, we’re talking about how he reportedly secretly married his longtime partner India Royale, who continues to show him a lot of support amid this legal drama. Hopefully they can one day enjoy their partnership outside of the repercussions of all these situations. After all, it seems like there are even more challenges on the way in the courtroom.

Lil Durk Co-Defendant Seeks Protective Order Over Safety Concerns

One of Lil Durk’s co-defendants in his ongoing federal murder-for-hire case, Kavon London Grant, has filed for a protective order after expressing concern about the safety of witnesses, victims, and defendants. He says that the public having unregulated access to sensitive information regarding to case could be a problem. Grant’s attorney, Peter C. Swarth, explained in a filing caught by AllHipHop

“This case involves significant safety concerns regarding disclosure of names and personal identifying information of victims, witnesses, and defendants,” Swarth said on Tuesday. He added that the sensitive information encompasses crime scene photographs, autopsy reports, and statements from protected witnesses. He’s worried about acts of retaliation or intimidation and in turn, wants strict limits on who accesses the documents.

Authorities arrested Lil Durk and his Only The Family co-defendants back in October for allegedly orchestrating an attempted murder of rival rapper Quando Rondo in 2022. They describe OTF as a “hybrid organization” that also functions as a criminal gang in addition to a music collective. “Banks [Lil Durk] put a monetary bounty out for an individual with whom Banks was feuding named T.B.,” the complaint reads, as caught by Billboard. “Banks ordered T.B.’s murder and that the hitmen used Banks and OTF-related finances to carry out the murder.” Prosecutors further alleged that the attempted killing was in retaliation for the 2020 killing of King Von.

Durk currently remains in federal custody and faces life in prison if convicted on all charges. United States marshals arrested him in South Florida as he allegedly attempted to escape the country. They claim he had several flights lined up at the nearby airport. His trial is set to begin in January 2025. Be on the lookout for further updates on the case on HotNewHipHop.

Diddy Secures Legal Victory As Judge Orders Prosecution To Destroy Notes From Jail Raid

Diddy earned a minor victory in court on Tuesday as Judge Arun Subramanian ruled that he won’t consider any evidence obtained during the recent raid on the Bad Boy mogul’s jail cell for his next bail hearing. He also ordered the prosecution to destroy the alleged trial notes authorities were accused of seizing. The state denied intentionally taking the 19 pages of legal notes, claiming that they passed them off to a “filter team” to determine whether the content was privileged.

“When we visit him in jail, we have lists,” Diddy’s attorney Marc Agnifilo said in court Tuesday, as caught by PEOPLE. “Everything in these pads are things we discuss. Trial strategy, who we should speak to, to undermine a witness’ credibility. We discuss everything with Mr. Combs.” After making his ruling, Subramanian remarked to the prosecution, “Get rid of them.”

The ruling wasn’t the only positive news for Diddy from Tuesday. Judge Subramanian also granted him the ability to attend his hearings with the restraint of shackles. His legal team had argued that appearing in shackles was a bad look in the media and could influence potential jurors. “Given the press attention on the pretrial proceedings in this case, there is a substantial risk that potential jurors will learn about the shackling through the media and develop such a bias,” Diddy’s team wrote in a letter to Subramanian the day before the hearing.

Authorities arrested Diddy on charges of alleged sex trafficking and racketeering back in September. He’s already pleaded not guilty and denied all of the allegations against him. His trial will kick off on May 5 of next year.

Diddy Accuses Prosecutors Of Lying About Prison Raid

Diddy’s legal team isn’t buying federal prosecutors’ claims about not having seen the supposed “privileged notes” that were obtained during a raid on the Bad Boy mogul’s prison cell. His lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, argued in new legal docs obtained by TMZ that officials took pictures of 19 pages of material. That material allegedly included 11 pages of trial strategy notes and private correspondence with his defense.

Authorities previously argued that they found a manila folder labeled “legal,” but did not open it. They also allege that they took photos of Diddy’s notebook, but didn’t look at them and instead, handed them over to a “filter team” to determine whether the content was privileged. Expectedly, Diddy’s team isn’t happy about the situation.

“Once they got them [photos of the documents], the first thing they did was use them, specifically use them by putting them in a bail letter to keep Combs in jail,” Agnifilo argued in response to the explanation of the situation. As for the alleged raid on Diddy’s prison cell, his team previously labeled it “outrageous government conduct amounting to a substantive due process violation.” Diddy appeared in court for a hearing in the case on Tuesday to discuss the matter.

For the hearing, his lawyers requested that authorities remove his shackles so as to not attract media attention and influence possible members of the jury. Judge Arun Subramanian approved the request and Diddy entered the courtroom unrestrained. Diddy is currently residing at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn after pleading not guilty to charges of alleged sex trafficking and racketeering, earlier this year.

Lil Durk Reportedly Breaks His Silence On Arrest In New Prison Phone Call

Last month, Lil Durk was arrested in Florida and hit with charges of murder-for-hire conspiracy and more. The Chicago rapper remains in custody, and earlier this week, he was transported to a prison in Los Angeles. He pleaded not guilty to his charges and is being held without bond until his trial, which is tentatively scheduled for January 7, 2025. According to ABC7, however, it’s “expected to be postponed.”

Fortunately, it sounds like Lil Durk is doing well despite the circumstances. Recently, one of his associates @900bruhbruh reportedly shared audio of their phone call with him from behind bars. In it, he asks Durk if he needs anything, and is seemingly told that he’s doing fine. He also reportedly denied being in protective custody, adding that he was being treated fairly well by the other inmates. His associate showed his support and called for Durk’s release.

Durk’s arrest took place shortly after five alleged OTF affiliates were taken into custody. Authorities believe they were allegedly hired to carry out the murder of Quando Rondo in retaliation for King Von’s 2020 death. In 2022, Quando and his cousin Lul Pab were targets of a shooting at a Los Angeles gas station. Quando was able to walk away unscathed, but Lul Pab tragically succumbed to his injuries. Prosecutors accuse Durk of “rapping about his revenge” in an indictment unveiled earlier this month.

Lil Durk Learns Tentative Trial Date During LA Court Appearance

According to USA Today, Lil Durk appeared in a Los Angeles federal courthouse for his arraignment yesterday (November 14). The Chicago rapper pleaded not guilty to the charges he’s facing, and prosecutors asked that he remain in custody while he awaits trial. They described him as an alleged “flight risk and a danger to the community.” He’ll be held without bail in LA until the trial, per U.S. Magistrate Judge Patricia Donahue’s orders, and his trial got a new tentative start date.

ABC7 reports that the trial has been scheduled to begin on January 7, 2025. The outlet notes, however, that it’s “expected to be postponed.” A status conference has also been scheduled for November 25 and a detention hearing for December 12.

Lil Durk was arrested last month and hit with a murder-for-hire charge. His arrest was shortly after five other alleged OTF affiliates were taken into custody. Authorities accuse them of being paid to carry out the murder of Quando Rondo as revenge for King Von’s 2020 death. In 2022, Quando and his cousin Lul Pab were victims of a shooting at an LA gas station. Quando survived while Lul Pab passed away as a result of his injuries.

Earlier this month, prosecutors unveiled a new indictment that includes additional charges against Durk and cites some of his song lyrics. The complete list of charges includes a count of conspiracy, a count of use of interstate facilities to commit murder-for-hire resulting in death, as well as a count of using, carrying, and discharging firearms and a machine gun and possession of such firearms in furtherance of a crime of violence resulting in death, according to WGN.

18-Year-Old Florida Rapper Jaydes Arrested For Alleged Attempted Murder

Over the weekend, 18-year-old Florida rapper Jaydes was arrested for alleged attempted murder. According to Pitchfork, the young artist is accused of stabbing a woman after she rejected his advances. He is currently being held without bond at a Broward County jail. A judge has also reportedly ordered a mental health evaluation of Jaydes, and ordered him not to have any contact with his alleged victim.

An affidavit obtained by the outlet reveals that a warrant was issued for his arrest on November 3 and that the alleged attack took place on November 2. It states that officers from the Broward Sheriff’s Office responded to a call about an alleged stabbing at an apartment in Tamarac, FL. Upon arrival, they located the alleged victim “who had stab wounds to her neck and forearm.” She was reportedly taken to a pediatric emergency room for treatment, and had to get “multiple stitches for two lacerations.”

Jaydes Reportedly Apprehended At Denny’s Days After Alleged Stabbing

The affidavit also includes the alleged victim’s sworn statement provided to officials. She alleged that she received a text message from Jaydes on November 2 inviting her to his apartment. After she agreed, he allegedly sent an Uber to pick her up. When she got there, he allegedly “made a move to kiss her.” At this point, she allegedly “pushed him away and told him she didn’t like him like that.” He allegedly persisted and tried for another kiss.

Allegedly, she “denied him again and Dumont left the room. [She] stated a few minutes later he returned with a box cutter and scissors, and he began to stab her, [She] stated Dumont stabbed her forearm and back with the scissors then stabbed her neck with a pink box cutter. [She] advised she fought him and was able to run to the bathroom where she called 9-1-1 for help.” On November 10, a police officer reportedly responded to an incident involving “a mentally disordered person having an episode” who allegedly “grabbed a knife” at a Denny’s in Fort Lauderdale. This man was later identified as Jaydes and taken into custody.

Nelly Is Off The Hook Following Arrest For Alleged Ecstasy Possession

In August of this year, it was reported that Nelly was arrested by the Missouri State Highway Patrol at the Hollywood Casino. Allegedly, officers discovered he had a warrant and found four ecstasy pills in his possession. As the news spread, Nelly’s attorney Scott Rosenblum came to his defense, alleging that he was “targeted by an overzealous, out of line officer.” Allegedly, Nelly won a huge jackpot at the casino, and the officer falsely claimed they needed to run a background check before giving him his winnings.

Now, according to TMZ Hip Hop, prosecutors have decided not to issue him any charges. “We don’t believe the facts in this case warrant the issuing of charges,” a spokesperson for St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office told the outlet. Rosenblum was able to provide even more insight into the decision. “Wesley Bell, the prosecuting attorney, and his office looked at all the circumstances and after a fair and impartial review of the evidence, declined to prosecute,” he revealed.

Nelly’s warrant was for allegedly not having insurance during a previous traffic stop in December of 2018. Rosenblum alleged that the performer was not notified about the warrant. He also theorized that if he weren’t a celebrity, he’d simply be told about it and free to leave. Fortunately, it looks like nothing has come out of his arrest. This means he’s officially able to focus all of his attention on his undoubtedly busy life.

Earlier this year, he and Ashanti welcomed their first child together and announced that they got married. They’ve since been providing fans with occasional updates on their life together, which appears to be going well. During a recent interview with ET, for example, Ashanti had nothing but positive things to say about Nelly, confidently referring to him as her “soulmate.”
