Wiz Khalifa Took A $10,000 Loss On New Year’s Eve After Destroying A Designer Suit In A Silly Mishap

He may jokingly have ‘better lungs’ than Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps, but rapper Wiz Khalifa will need pockets deeper than a bank if he keeps burning through money like he did this weekend. In many cultures, the way you start the new year foreshadows how your year will pan out. Based on what the “Black and Yellow” rapper shared on Twitter, he might want to look into starting a monthly budget.

Yesterday (January 1), Khalifa hinted at the wild night he had while bringing in the new year, writing, “I tripped and fell in the pool in my 10 thousand dollar suit last night.” Not happy with the hefty financial blow, the songwriter continued, “y’all can take me back to last year ’cause this ain’t it.”

Even with the minor financial setback, Khalifa has no regrets as he followed up his story with, “New year. Same me.”

As a master manifester and budding businessman (owning upcoming mushroom and psilocybin wellness brand Mistercap as well as delivery-only restaurant Hotbox by Wiz), it is only a matter of time moments until he makes the money he lost back.

Wiz Khalifa is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Boosie Talks Fentanyl Dangers Amid Gangsta Boo’s Death

Less than a day in to the new year, hip hop fans are grieving the loss of another legend. Memphis legend Gangsta Boo was pronounced dead on Sunday (January 1) at 43 years old.

The cause of death wasn’t initially revealed. However, reports began to surface that the late rapper’s passing was caused by a drug overdose. Many of the Three Six Mafia member’s peers took to social media to honor Gangsta Boo’s life and legacy.

Boosie urged folks about the dangers of Fentanyl after it was suspected that Gangsta Boo died after taking a Fentanyl laced substance. “MILLIONS OF FENTANYL OVERDOSES,” he began. “WHEN HAVE U HEARD OF CRACK OVERDOSES? U STILL SEE CRACKHEADS FROM 20 YEARS AGO n THEY FUNCTIONAL (they can fix anything)!”

Boosie went on to slam the deadly drug in his  heartfelt post.  “U GET ON FENTANYL U DEAD N A WEEK FRFR.” However, his rant didn’t end there.  The Baton Rouge rapper shared a follow up video describing the dangers of the deadly drug. Boosie didn’t mention Gangsta Boo is his spiel — but fans immediately assumed he was referring to the late star.

“They are lacing drugs with fentanyl Boosie,” one fan wrote. “Most times the user doesn’t know they are consuming it.” Another fan reflected on the Memphis rapper’s last interview with Vlad TV. “Gangsta boo went in depth about drugs she used on Vlad a while back. She said she doesn’t do pills because you never know what’s in them. So to hear she and her brother OD’d from fentanyl is eerie.”

Sources connected to the “Gangsta Walk” rapper revealed that Gangsta Boo and her brother attended a concert in Memphis, Tenn., Saturday night where her brother  overdosed and was sent to the hospital.

Sources also say that narcotics were found on Gangsta Boo’s person when she was discovered deceased on Sunday. Our thoughts and prayers are with the hip hop legend’s family at this time.

Big Boogie Is “Outside” On His New Single

Big Boogie is holding it down for the M and it feels like 2023 is about to be his year.

The CMG signee’s kicking off 2023 with the release of his latest single, “Outside.” The rapper explores his pains and sorrows through his auto-tune filtered vocals but it’s also a record that speaks to his resilience. He reflects on the obstacles he’s had to overcome and his efforts to uplift the people surrounding him. “I can’t see my members down broke and they hungry,” he raps on the single.

Boogie also looks back at the arrest that nearly ripped his rap career from him. He reveals that he was staring down at 65 years in prison but had the case dropped.

Following such a monumental year in his career, “Outside” truly captures his vulnerability with clarity. However, it’s his pain-riddled melodies that are as infectious as they are effective in getting his emotions across on wax.

Throughout 2022, Big Boogie delivered a slew of singles, from “Homegirl 2.0” ft. Rick Ross, The-Dream and Bun B, to “Way Harder,” which arrived on Friday. In 2021, he blessed fans with his latest body of work, UNDERRATED. Shortly after, he blessed fans with the deluxe edition of the project, including another 10 songs. Yo Gotti and Moneybagg Yo both appear on the deluxe, as well.

We’re looking forward to hearing what Big Boogie has in store in 2023. “Outside” is certainly a strong indication that he’s coming for his in the next 12 months.

Check out his new single below.

Quotable Lyrics
Ten monkeys on my back but I be slappin’ everybody
You don’t get respect from me if you stepped on my silence
If you my bitch, you can’t be friendly with everybody
When I put that shit on, they be swearin’ that I’m cocky
