DJ Khaled Wrestles An Alligator As 21 Savage & Justin Bieber Watch In “LET IT GO” Video

DJ Khaled has a brand new #1 album under his belt, debuting at the top spot on the charts with his latest project Khaled Khaled. Despite the album’s strong commercial performance, it has received mixed reviews from fans. One of the songs that has earned some of the strongest comments has been “LET IT GO,” the collaboration involving Justin Bieber and 21 Savage.

As the mega-producer continues to release new music videos from the album, Khaled has officially dropped the clip for “LET IT GO.” The trio of superstar artists hit the golf course with Bieber playing the role of Khaled’s caddy. After Khaled places a bet with his partners, Bieber surprises them all by hitting a hole-in-one from several hundred yards away. He goes up against 21 Savage, who also has some sharp skills. Eventually, a danger presents itself on the course as an alligator pops up but the fearless DJ Khaled risks his own life to wrestle the animal, ending up on top and celebrating with Biebs.

Arlo Parks Delivered A Tender Piano Cover Of Frank Ocean’s ‘Ivy’ For BBC Radio 1

It’s not every performer that has the audacity to cover Frank Ocean, because delivering a performance that’s at least comparable to his exemplary vocal abilities is a significant challenge. However, Arlo Parks has emerged as one of the finest new vocalists to emerge in a while, and she did just fine when she took a crack at Ocean’s “Ivy” for a new BBC Radio 1 Piano Sessions performance. Seated behind the keys, she also sang one of her own songs, “Hurt.”

She shared some photos from the session and wrote, “It was an honour to sing sum Frank Ocean and Hurt for @bbcradio1’s Chillest Show – there’s something so deep and soothing about the piano as an instrument.”

These performances don’t come too long after her last time in a Radio 1 Piano Session: Back in September 2020, she joined Phoebe Bridgers to help out with a rendition of Radiohead’s “Fake Plastic Trees.” Parks also played piano as Bridgers sang her single “Kyoto.”

This also arrived just days ahead of this year’s Brit Awards, which take place tomorrow, May 11. Parks is up for handful of big awards: Best British Female, Breakthrough Artist, and Best Album (for Collapsed In Sunbeams).

J. Cole Is Apparently Playing For Rwanda’s Basketball Africa League Team

J. Cole may not have played himself onto the roster for the NBA’s Detroit Pistons but it appears his hoop dream isn’t done quite yet. It looks like he’s about to compete for a roster spot in the newly-created Basketball Africa League according to Rwanda’s English newspaper, The New Times Rwanda. The New Times‘ Twitter account posted a video of J. Cole apparently preparing to play for the country’s Patriots team. The newspaper confirmed that his name is listed on the roster.

If he makes the team, there’s no telling how it’ll affect the rollout for his new album, The Off-Season (aside from turning the title into the biggest misnomer in hip-hop), but it’ll be the culmination of a lifelong dream for him to play professional basketball — a dream that saw him taking advice from Master P, who once made it onto the Toronto Raptors’ preseason roster, and working with Puma on his own basketball shoe.

It’ll also make Cole a member of the BAL’s inaugural season, as well as one of the few Americans to play in the new league. The BAL is a joint effort between the NBA and FIBA (International Basketball Federation) to promote the sport on the continent, developing its talent for international competition. It consists of 12 teams and is scheduled to begin May 16, 2021, after being postponed from March of 2020.

According to Shams Charania, Cole is signing with the Patriots and will play three to six games, beginning with Sunday’s game against Nigeria.

India Royale Deletes Twitter After Defending Lil Durk Relationship

India Royale is officially tired of y’all. The influencer, who is best known for her relationship with rapper Lil Durk, spends a lot of time fighting back trolls on social media who seem to always have something to say about her personal life. Most recently, the critics tried to put a damper on her Mother’s Day by shaming her and emphasizing that she’s the rapper’s sixth baby mama.

If there’s one thing you should know about India and Durk, it’s that they’ll always go to war for one another. They fight each other’s battles all the time but last night, India was left to fend for herself. The model responded to fans who tried to make her feel bad about her relationship, saying, “Y’all can’t make me mad about being the 6th BM. I knew I was gonna be that when I chose parenthood over planned parenthood. I’m the BM, the obsession, lover, friend, authorized user on bank cards, and beneficiary. Talk to me nice bitches.”

When somebody implied that she was being delusional, India wrote back, “He will get on here and tell y’all. Y’all know he live in the pocket of my p***y.” Smurk didn’t log on to defend India though and shortly after she sent these tweets, her account was deleted from Twitter. It appears as though she deactivated her page.

Clearly, this exchange bothered India but hopefully, she returns to social media realizing that it doesn’t matter what anybody says about her relationship as long as she and Durk are both happy. We’re wishing them the best.

Lil Pump Gets His Car Windows Smashed

Lil Pump has lost his spot in hip-hop relevance, holding onto his fame by a string in recent months. Following his clout-chasing endorsement of Donald Trump for President, the 20-year-old Florida rapper has been doing way too much on social media. Fans have continually called him out for his painted toenails, his disrespectful song lyrics about the late Juice WRLD, his insincere apology to Eminem after dissing him, and more.

Pump has a pretty uneven hate/love ratio among his base and considering his behavior on social media, it was only a matter of time before somebody tried something on him. It looks like that day arrived this weekend when the rapper shared that his car was seriously damaged after somebody smashed his windows.

“Somebody gone pay for this shit! I’ma bust your f*cking brain open,” said Pump on Instagram Live, showing that the back window and side windows of his car were broken into. “Come back to this yard. I’m right here now! Come back, n***a. How f*cking dare you? You see this? Bet, that’s how y’all wanna play? Let’s get it, bet. N***a, I’m gonna be here for the next three-four days. Come back to my house so I can blow your f*cking head off. I’ll be waiting right here with my baby,” said Lil Pump in the video, showing off his gun.

After the video was reposted to Akademiks’ feed, people started making jokes and theorizing that Pump did this to himself just to film the threatening video. Hopefully, the rapper has insurance…

J. Cole Officially Signs With Basketball Africa League Team

Yesterday, reports surfaced that J. Cole was set to sign with a Basketball Africa League team in Kigali, Rwanda. The Basketball Africa League is a joint effort between the NBA and FIBA that hopes to bring more sine to the continent of Africa and the number of basketball stars that it is producing. Each team has a few foreign player roster spots available, and it was believed that J. Cole would be joining the Patriots as one of those stars.

Now, the news is being confirmed by Shams Charania of The Athletic. As Shams explains in the tweets below, Cole will get to play about three to six games with the team this season. In fact, he will play his very first game on Sunday as his team takes on a Nigerian club.

This is unique timing as Cole will be releasing his latest album The Off-Season on Friday. With all eyes on Cole, he will be able to help grow the game of basketball in Africa and we’re sure a whole lot of Americans will be glued to their TVs as they look to see how well Cole will perform on a professional basketball court.

J. Cole has previously expressed interest in playing professional basketball, and now, he will finally get to live out that dream. Needless to say, this is about to be a whole lot of fun.

Flipp Dinero Goes Off On His Latest Single “The Get Back”

When Flipp Dinero first burst onto the scene with his track “Leave Me Alone” back in 2018, he immediately became a viral sensation and was able to build a sizeable fanbase willing to follow his every move. Since that time, he has steadily released brand new music and on Friday, he blessed those fans with a new high-energy single called “The Get Back.”

With this song, the New York rapper gives us his signature energy which has some parts bars and some parts melodies. The effort comes with a ton of braggadocios bars and if you put this on at a party, you’ll definitely get the crowd excited. If you’re a fan of the artist, there is a lot to like here, and we’re sure he has even more in store for the rest of 2021.

Saweetie Shoots Down Rumors She Was Busking For Tips After Her Impromptu Santa Monica Pier Performance

Big stars aren’t always known for busking after they blow up, but on Saturday, Saweetie was seen on the Santa Monica Pier, performing her hit song “My Type” and her new single “Fast (Motion).” The impromptu performance looked to be exciting for fans in attendance, but as usual, the Twitter peanut gallery found plenty of negatives to strike out at — mainly, the fact that Saweetie seemed to be collecting donations in a tip jar while rapping to her hits. Saweetie herself responded and explained why their jabs and jokes were out of pocket.

During an Instagram Live stream with fans the next day, Saweetie explained that she saw one of the pier’s usual buskers singing and asked if she could take over temporarily. The tip jar belonged to the singer and after her performance, she left the jar and all the money that had accumulated during her spur-of-the-moment show.

“Was I asking money?” she joked as she confirmed a fan’s question. “No, girl, I wasn’t asking for no money yesterday. Actually, yesterday was a spur of the moment and it was fun. We were at the Santa Monica Pier and I saw this upcoming artist, he was singing with his microphone. I was like, you know what, I got a new single so I’m gonna just perform for my fans because I love them so much and a couple of people noticed me. All the proceeds and donations from that tip jar was given to him.”

You can watch Saweetie’s explanation video below.

Saweetie is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.
